Yale psychiatrist Bandy X. Lee calls on Pelosi to submit Pres. Trump to involuntary psych evaluation

Bandy Xenobia Lee, MD, MDiv, 49, is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine.

According to Wikipedia, Lee was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, and is of Korean descent. With an MD from Yale University School of Medicine in 1994 and an MDiv from Yale Divinity School in 1995, Lee specializes in violence prevention.

Bandy X. Lee is also a rabid anti-Trumper who misuses her psychiatric profession to engage in the sort of dangerous psychological diagnosis employed by the former Soviet Union and present-day China to silence and incarcerate political dissidents. She is part of a movement demanding that the House Judiciary Committee bring a panel of “mental health experts” to join the impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

In 2017, Lee undertook a frenzied series of activities on the supposed mental ill health of President Trump, including:

  • Hosting a meeting on Trump’s mental health at Yale University medical school in April.
  • An interview with Salon in May, in which she pronounced Trump’s mental health to be in such a “state of emergency” that “our survival as a species may be at stake.”
  • Editing The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President, a book of essays examining Trump’s mental health.
  • Meeting 12 members of Congress (11 Democrats, 1 Republican) to tell them Trump’s mental health had so deteriorated that he was “unraveling”.

Igor Derysh reports for Salon, Dec. 27, 2019, that Bandy X. Lee claims that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is not doing enough to respond to the danger posed by President Trump’s mental illness and that Pelosi has the “right” to have the President of the United States submit to an involuntary psychiatric evaluation.

Lee told Salon:

“As a coworker, she [Pelosi] has the right to have him submit to an involuntary evaluation, but she has not. Anyone can call 911 to report someone who seems dangerous, and family members are the most typical ones to do so. But so can coworkers, and even passersby on the street. The law dictates who can determine right to treatment, or civil commitment, and in all 50 U.S. states this includes a psychiatrist. The advantage of a coworker starting this process is that a court can mandate a mental capacity evaluation before the dangerous person returns to work. The committing physician is preferably the patient’s treater, but does not have to be.”

Lee criticizes Pelosi’s strategy of withholding the articles of impeachment from the Senate as ineffective, and warns that the delay risks making Trump even more dangerous. Lee said: “I am beginning to believe that a mental health hold, which we have tried to avoid, will become inevitable.

Lee also arm-chair diagnoses anyone who actively takes the side of President Trump as psychotic, specifically to have “shared psychosis” — a phenomenon in which otherwise healthy people in close contact with a mentally ill person take on symptoms of the sick person as if they had the sickness themselves. However, symptoms of “shared psychosis” disappear when you remove the sick person from contact or media exposure.

Incredibly, in addition to being a professor of psychiatry at Yale, Bandy Xenobia Lee is also the president of the World Mental Health Coalition. On her Twitter account, she actually provides “translations” of Trump’s tweets.

But she’s the one calling Trump and the Deplorables crazy.

“Dr.” X is a disgrace to her disgraceful faux-profession. Most psychiatrists opt for that route because they lack the requisite skills to be real doctors. So they become doctors in name only (DINO’s). It doesn’t take a lot of intelligence to push pills and do PR for Pharma. And for someone who specializes in violence prevention, why is she trying so hard to instigate a civil war? All her hysterical hand-waving has availed nothing – MAGA 2020. Don’t like it, move to North Korea where every day is Earth Day

Most likely Dr. X is on the Soros payroll. This stunt is similar to that of Congresswoman Jackie Speier and the article she had published at Psychology Today by another of the same ilk as Dr. X, a Ph.D. MFT named Daniel Neuharth who rationalizes his article as follows: “Five-term U.S. Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D—CA) has become the most prominent elected official to date to call President Trump a “malignant narcissist.”” “The most prominent elected official.” So, what is that supposed to mean, by someone writing for Psychology Today? https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/narcissism-demystified/201905/what-exactly-is-malignant-narcissism Not to stray too far off topic here, but here’s… Read more »

She has those big, bugged-out eyes like the other crazies.😳 She needs to be evaluated by a psychiatrist and have any and all licenses to practice medicine revoked. It’s highly unethical for a so called doctor to diagnose anyone that they have not personally examined. This wackadoodle needs to be looked at closely. I wonder what’s hiding in her closet?

She needs to be evaluated by a sane person with integrity and from my experience few psychiatrists would qualify. I’ll volunteer since I have the credentials to render a diagnosis: Yup, she’s crazy, ding-dong, gone ’round the bend, whacked, her dipstick ain’t hittin’ the oil. What’s that Dr. X, you want a second opinion? Okay, you’re ugly too 🙂

In my comments I trash psychiatry and psychiatrists but I sometimes use crass generalizations to make a point. Psychiatry can be a beneficial discipline if done right and I know many good and competent psychiatrists. This Bandy X character is neither, she prostitutes her profession for political ends and her remarks are so completely and irresponsibly over the line that they have the effect of discrediting psychiatry and making her appear to be the crazy one. In her case, if the shoe fits..

TDS has gone so far off the charts they’re having to create NEW categories to cover all who are too extreme for the categories they have.
Pray for the safety of all the GOOD people of America and her Government!!!

Our tax dollars should be removed from all one sided, politically active, so called, campus’ of higher learning. This is what happened in 1970 at Kent State. It took government to end all of the madness of times. It took students dying. Take away the monitory support from all higher learning institutions who are anti-US. It only makes sense if we want to stop the evil leftist leaven from leavening the whole lump.

Lee says, “Anyone can call 911 to report someone who seems dangerous, and family members are the most typical ones to do so. But so can coworkers, and even passersby on the street.”

Maybe some passerbys on the street should start calling 911 to report her, a person who to the ordinary person on the street appears very dangerous, to both the nation and its citizens.

I say, see her, call her in. Let this be a call to Americans to act in self-defense against Ivory Tower nutjobs.

I want Bandy Lee, herself to be put under involuntary psychiatric evaluation for TDS and her obvious danger to herself and others by her self-evident delusions.

Two can play this game. Take her away boys.

Sounds like somebody needs to be held 72 hours involuntarily…and it’s not the President.

From a clinical perspective our president is amazingly stable, resourceful, resilient. Not many people could endure the crap he’s had to endure and not break. But DJT shrugs it off. Bandy X on the other hand displays a lot of paranoia, bizarre ideation, and grandiosity (and those CRAZY eyes, always a dead giveaway), a clear danger to herself and others. She needs to be sectioned to a locked intensive care psych unit, and heavily medicated. 72 hours initially but if I were her clinician I’d be making arrangements for long-term hospitalization. There must be a good facility at Yale

People with bulging eyes give me the impression of not being altogether right, and wacko Bandy is one of them, looks like she’s got a lose screw somewhere she can hear it and cannot place it where in her head it may be, hence her perception the president’s mental health to be in such a “state of emergency” that “our survival as a species may be at stake.” I believe wacko Bandy and her ideas need to be closely examined, she may explode at any time.

Two personal stories about Yale. 1. My buddy is a DJ n has done 2 parties at Yale for 2 diff professors, both tenure parties, both flaming gay parties. The first was a male professor’s n my buddy said it was just sick w flaming naked gay men running around, yes all professors. The 2nd party was a womans, buddy said not real flaming but all lesbian. Buddy said the woman got up to make a speech n said “We’re gonna make all boys pus**s!” 2. I know someone currently being recruited by Yale psychiatry, not gonna mention names or… Read more »

Ya Will. My dj buddy was always kidding me about when id show him things. Then the 2 parties at Yale woke his arse right up. Only took one event to get him off the fence. I think the majority if the population is in a similar mindset, on the fence, then all its gonna take is one event n they’ll all see it.

My Yale recruit friend would never sell his/her soul, too strong of an upbringing. Seeing this Lee push an agenda only confirms her allegiance to the enemy.

Is this Yale psychologist Chinese? Armchair psychology has never worked. Neither has the entire practice. Instead, they intentionally make things worse, so the patient will need to keep coming back. It is a farce folks. Don’t waste you’re money there…I have a psych degree, and still say this. Most psychologists are leftist. That is where they lost me.

Pelosi got elected saying she’d impeach George W Bush. Maybe she thinks Trump is Bush?
Psychiatrists way back in history were maligned by the other doctors UNTIL they started screwing people up with drugs, electroshock and lobotomies, then they became the darlings of the medical industry due to all the havoc they wreaked for the drug companies.
Most psychiatrists are quacks….well that follows allopathic medicine in general.

DAH! Anyone who chairs or hosts meetings on someone’s “mental capacity” from a distance, with no face-to-face-contact or intake interview,or diagnostic measure and then shares a “diagnosis” with dozens of others, and then broadcasts to millions…..is a sham practitioner of mental health diagnosis and care. PERIOD. This person, as are many others, is a Snake Oil Vendor. Shoe on the other foot: what would this same measure take of Joe Biden and his before-our-very-eyes-developing dementia?
