Al Franken: A devoted and dedicated family man…

Y‘all may regret that decision, ladies.
From Entertainment Weekly: Women who worked with Al Franken on Saturday Night Live are stepping out to support him — 36 “SNL Women,” to be exact.
The comic-turned-senator, who spent a total of 15 years on the series as a writer and performer, faced sexual misconduct accusations by KABC radio anchor Leeann Tweeden last week, who claimed Franken groped her and kissed her without consent during a USO tour in 2006, and even released a photo of Franken appearing to be grabbing her breasts while she was sleeping. Franken has since apologized and Tweeden accepted it, and now, his former colleagues are speaking out in solidarity with him.
“We feel compelled to stand up for Al Franken, whom we have all had the pleasure of working with over the years on Saturday Night Live (SNL),” begins a statement signed by the 36 women, including Not Ready for Prime Time Players Jane Curtin and Laraine Newman. “What Al did was stupid and foolish, and we think it was appropriate for him to apologize to Ms. Tweeden, and to the public. In our experience, we know Al as a devoted and dedicated family man, a wonderful comedic performer, and an honorable public servant. That is why we are moved to quickly and directly affirm that after years of working with him, we would like to acknowledge that not one of us ever experienced any inappropriate behavior; and mention our sincere appreciation that he treated each of us with the utmost respect and regard.”
Last weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live didn’t exactly go easy on Franken. “Now, I know this photo looks bad, but remember — it also is bad,” Colin Jost quipped during Weekend Update, later adding, “Sure, this was taken before Franken ran for public office, but it was also taken after he was a sophomore in high school. It’s pretty hard to be like, ‘Oh, come on, he didn’t know anything — he was only 55.’”
I believe the womyn supporting Franken wrote this letter before pictures surfaced of Franken groping Arianna Huffington during a photo shoot. Oops…

  1. Un-friggen-believable! Those women should be ashamed of calling themselves feminists.

  2. I don’t understand why Leeann Tweeden has accepted (?) Al Franken(stein)’s apologies ($$$$) for his “misconduct”, to me that’s like saying don’t do it again, SNL’s 36 low life women, and others including Miss Tweeden, support for him is needed more than ever since slimy old Rep.John Conyers has been incriminated in a sex scandal costing tax payers money but, I’m glad all these and much more is coming to light, goes to show the “swamp.” is going through a cleaning process by itself -it is opening a new era so much needed for the rebirth of our country in need of undoing the ugly.

  3. So let me get this straight, just bc he didn’t assault those 36 women , he must be innocent? I don’t understand how they can write a letter defending this man. They dont know what he did to that woman or what he didn’t do, or if there is more women. Just bc you “know ” or work with someone doesn’t mean you truly KNOW them.

  4. But these same people want to destroy Trump based on no forensic evidence or credible accusations.
Liberals – especially the hardcore leftist females – are DISGUSTING HYPOCRITES.

  5. This “statement of support” means nothing to me: How do we know that signing this statement was not a condition of continued employment for women still on the show, and how do we know the producer of the show was not approached by the former castmates’ agents, or anyone else?
I used to watch SNL, and I remember Franken, and he WAS funny. And a certain amount of respect has to be had for a television show that has weathered more than 40 years on the air—it’s no mean feat.
But this “statement of support” means absolutely nothing. Actually, it is more of an illustration of the ladies’ phony baloney bourgeosie morality, which I detest.
In all fairness, Franken—and every single other person in Congress guilty of sexual misconduct—must be driven from Congress.

    • Check out “The Storm”-It sounds like there’s some BIG changes going down in our Government, and it’s GOOD stuff! (Hope it’s all true-I choose to think it is-it sounds so CREDIBLE….)

  6. Weirdest thing: the other night while doing dishes we got a call from Rasmussen surveys. They started out asking what I thought of Trumps job performance, and then had about five questions on Al Franken. He should absolutely step down, but I believe he won’t . Any ladies supporting him are total hypocrites.

  7. Well, of course they did. That’s how liberals “roll.” They hunt for “splinters” in they eyes of Republicans….but they can’t see the LOGS in their own eyes.

  8. A bunch of self-important doped up hags providing a character reference for an unfunny progressive piece of shit. Isn’t that special….

    • Ha, ha! He’s a pervert, but he’s THEIR pervert! They can have him. Hypocrites, the lot of ’em.

    • The womyn might be rethinking their support: “Two More Women Accuse Sen. Al Franken Of Inappropriate Touching”
      From HuffPo via Twitchy.

      • Were any of ’em from “The Squawk” or “SNL”?

      • Personally I’ve always preferred that our senators represented America instead of Israel, but I’m apparently in the minority. I’d give him a pass on the groping if he immediately moved to his mother land.

  9. You have to wonder if any woman that still supports a toad like Franken has any morals left. SNL left the studio a long time ago after the 70’s, when they did have a great cast and politics was very minor. Give me Gilda any day.

  10. “Street artist Sabo takes aim at Al Franken by plastering him on to huge The Greatest Showman billboard to make him look like he is grabbing Zendaya”
