Why Americans Are Unemployed

Little Tony started the day early having set his alarm clock (MADE IN CHINA) for 6 am.
While his coffeepot (MADE IN PANAMA) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG). He disputed a credit card bill with a customer service rep (IN INDIA) on the phone (MADE IN MEXICO).
He put on a dress shirt (MADE IN SRI LANKA), designer jeans (MADE IN VIETNAM) and tennis shoes (MADE IN CAMBODIA).
After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet (MADE IN CHINA), he sat down with his calculator (MADE IN TAIWAN) to see how much he could spend today. After setting his watch (MADE IN SWITZERLAND) to the radio (MADE IN MALAYSIA), he got in his car (MADE IN GERMANY), filled it with gas (FROM SAUDI ARABIA) and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB.
At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his computer
(MADE IN JAPAN), John decided to relax for a while.
He put on his sandals (MADE IN BRAZIL), poured himself a glass of wine
(MADE IN FRANCE) and turned on his TV (MADE IN INDONESIA), and then wondered why he can’t find a good paying job in AMERICA.
AND NOW HE’S HOPING HE CAN GET HELP FROM HIS PRESIDENT
(MADE IN KENYA).
H/t beloved fellow BKeyser!

  1. This is truly frightening and it’s the same in Canada. I’ve been out shopping for things I need around the house – new towels, sheets, kitchen utensils, etc. and made a point of looking for items made in Canada or the US. Not much luck.
I settled for towels made in India rather than China or Pakistan.
One silver lining – I found a mattress protector made in Canada at Wal-Mart. I bought it without hesitation, although the the quality wasn’t great.

  2. that giant sucking sound you hear is your job being sucked out of the country NAFTA thanks Mr. Clinton 8million jobs have been lost since the great idiot (obama) has taken office. as H. Ross Perot so astutely observed almost 20 years ago NAFTA was not going to be a good idea.

  3. I agree Ross Perot was right!! Americans lets start buying American made as often as possible!! We Americans need to stick togather our future depends on it, for our childrens sake and grandchildren! NAFT has not been good for our country. What can I do as an American to stop NAFTA? When I was growing up If it was American made it was the best! what happened?
