Urgent: Please pray for Heath

Rate this post

Some of you, as I have, may have noticed that our ebullient and beloved commenter Miranda  hasn’t been on the Fellowship as often. This is why.
Miranda’s 28-year-old husband, Heath, is ill. He has been in the hospital for the past four days. But they don’t know what’s ailing him, other than a low oxygen level. To make matters worse, their darling little daughter has the flu and is throwing up.
Miranda and Heath are God’s people — devout Christians. Miranda, as you know, is a stay-at-home mom, caring for two young children.
Please, please say a fervent prayer for this precious family:

  • That Heath’s doctors will find out what’s ailing him and determine the correct remedy.
  • That Heath swiftly recovers and regains his health.
  • That their little girl quickly recovers from the flu.
  • That Miranda be given the strength to care for her family.

I will say a special prayer that Jesus sends St. Raphael, the healing Angel, to minister to Heath and his family.

Glorious Archangel St. Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide of those who journey by land or sea or air, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners.

I beg you, assist me in all my needs and in all the sufferings of this life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels. Because you are the “medicine of God” I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities of my soul and the ills that afflict my body. I especially ask of you this favor — that, through the Almighty God’s power, Heath be healed from his infirmities — and the great grace of purity to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Thank you,

Yet again my fat finger hit the “thumbs down” I am so sorry! I ment a “thumbs up”. I cannot help but get tickled tho! This is what I am beginning to be known for! Sorry! 🙂

  9. Fellowship of Minds Family:
God is GREAT! Heath was released from the hospital! I know it is nothing short of a miracle. Everything was NORMAL this afternoon! Praise our LORD! The doctor said it is strange… 🙂 But we know that is not true? It is our Heavenly Father! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I will never underestimate prayer again!
You all are such a BLESSING! I know in my heart that it was most definitely God that led me to this Wonderful Site! Thank you for caring for someone you have not ever even seen in person! What a Gift you all are!
Now we start the process of getting him into a program in Denver, CO. They are trying to get him into a program at the National Jewish Health Center, which is the #1 Respiratory Hospital in the U.S. He is still having a very hard time breathing but at least He is home! Praise God!
My littlest angel has the flu, but nothing that cannot be whipped. And my 4 yr old boy is still trying to fly off of furniture…..which I cannot help but be Thankful for! 😉 You all are very dear to my heart and I thank God for bringing each one of u into my life in such an unexpected way! Everyday is an absolutely Amazing Gift! From the bottom of my heart…..THANK YOU! It brought tears to Heath’s eyes when he saw this! Total Amazment! 🙂

    • Miranda,
I am in tears as I read your message. All praise the wondrous and loving God!!!
But I am baffled: If everything is “normal” with Heath, why is he still having a hard time breathing? And why are you aiming to get him into the National Jewish Health Center?
I will continue to pray for Heath’s complete healing. 😀

      • Well, when I say normal…..I should say that his oxygen is at least above 90%. It was so low that he was slowly suffocating in a way. But when he was little they thought that he had asthma, so since then he has been on asthma medication. Ummm….maybe 6 mnths ago we took him to an asthma specialist, b/c the same thing was happening, just not so drastic. After many test, the doctor said that he did not have asthma and that the steroids he was on was what was causing him not to breathe. Well, he hasn’t been on steroids since and another specialist thinks it might be his heart. So to try to figure out what is causing him to not recieve the 97-100% oxygen a 28 yr old should have, the specialist thinks it might be in Heaths best interest to have some more test done. B/c his lungs have always been clear. I am not going to lie, I am a little confused, but the doctor is still concerned b/c Heath is still struggling to breath and he doesn’t know why. At this hospital, b/c it’s research, we are able to apply for grants that will cover the majority of the test that they run. I guess b/c Amarillo doesn’t know what else to do. So we are far from being in the clear, but he is breathing well enough now to not be on oxygen.

        • To be completely honest Doc……I don’t really know. Which is a little frustrating in itself! We just know that his body is working overtime and it is catching up with itself.

        • Thanks, Miranda, for the additional info. I second Grouchy’s classification of breathing difficulties into lung-related vs. heart-related problems.
Be prepared for thinner air in Denver, aka “mile high city.”

        • How frustrating to not know the exact cause. But it sounds like he’s in good hands and the docs are doing their best to try and diagnose his problem properly. Prayers!

    • such good news!

  10. Grouchy,
Heath has told every single nurse and person that has walked into his room today, the joke about the “poop in the pond”. Every time he gets so tickled that he cannot breath! Thank you for that! 🙂

  11. Praying here.

  12. Miranda, I have been on vacation this week and just now got on my computer, it fills my heart with joy that your husband is doing better and released from the hospital and your daughter is not seriously ill. God is great and I will continue to pray for their complete recovery

  13. Count me in…

  14. Hi Grouchy!
He is doing a lot better. He has an interview with TALL (Texas Agricultural Lifetime Leadership) at the end of March, plus we are still getting cattle in or we would already have sent him. He refuses to go until after the interview, so it looks like he will be heading to Denver in the middle of April. If it had of been up to me he would already be there. He will be gone for 2-4 weeks and I think that that kinda scares him. Not going to lie, it does me too, but I dont dare tell him that! He is worried about the kids, we both are. Its kinda miraculous though, b/c he has been doing great! His oxygen level is still in the low 90s and his heartbeat is sporatic, but he has been at work this week! Which is a blessing! It does concern me how much weight he has lost though.
Thank u for asking! it means the world! I feel we will have an uphill battle when we do find out what exactly is going on, but only God knows and He has really been working on me to just trust Him….so that is what we are doing….Trusting Him. Everything happens for a reason! Lots and lots going on here…I know that others have so much more though and we are so blessed. (I am a Drama Queen!) You are a wonderful person Grouchy! Thank u!

    • Wonderful news about Heath, Miranda! Praise God!

    • That was really cool. Looks like one of the calves had the scours. I think that’s how it’s spelled. Not sure just know the result… I’m going to have to go back and check the one from the sand hills in Neb. My mom comes from an area close to there.
Ya’ll are still in the prayers.
