UN is a Hotbed of New Age Occult

What is wrong with this picture?
Despite what Obama and the Left proclaim, the United States remains a Christian nation. Some 76% of Americans still call ourselves Christians. Non-Christian religions (including Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism), collectively make up only 3.9% to 5.5% of the adult population. Not only is America still mainly Christian, a majority of Americans say that religion plays a “very important” role in their lives, a proportion that Wikipedia notes as being “unusual among developed nations.”
U.S. taxpayers are the largest financial supporter of the United Nations, to the tune of more than $6.347 billion in FY 2009. (For details about America’s UN financial contributions, scroll to the end of this post.) America also hosts the UN Headquarters in New York city.
But in the name of universal brotherhood and Gaia environmentalism, the UN is actively promoting a new paganism that is a hodge podge of New Agism, Eastern mysticism, and covert Satanism.
Before you roll your eyes and hum the Twilight Zone’s “ding ding ding ding” tune, read the evidence I’ll present to you and then tell me what you think.
The first piece of evidence is below. I will publish the other pieces as separate posts over the course of the next few days.

UN’s Spiritual Advisor Sri Chinmoy

People’s Exhibit No. 1: The Guru

For 23 years, the United Nations had a self-proclaimed Hindu mystic named Sri Chinmoy as its own in-house “spiritual advisor” — guru. Chinmoy would offer prayer and meditation meetings for anyone to attend every Tuesday and Friday in the UN’s Meditation Room. (The room will be People’s Exhibit No. 2 — the subject of tomorrow’s post.)
In his book Genesis: Shaping a Global Spirituality, longtime UN Under Secretary General Robert Muller exulted that “We have…a UN Meditation Group led by an Indian Mystic. One could tell several moving stories of the spiritual transformation the UN has caused, to the point that this little speck on earth is becoming a holy ground.” (quoted in Gary Kah’s The New World Religion, p. 310)
Chinmoy claimed to have been Thomas Jefferson in a previous life, as well as the Spiritual Brother (whatever that means) to Jesus Christ. Chinmoy’s disciples claim him as one of a handful of fully enlightened beings on the planet. Some disciples go so far as to claim he is an avatar, a living God. They meditate to a print of his face.
According to Wikipedia, Sri Chinmoy’s real name is Chinmoy Kumar Ghose. Born in 1931 (d. 2007), he was a Hindu spiritual teacher and philosopher who immigrated from his native India to the U.S. in 1964 and later “gave talks at the United Nations.”
Chinmoy claimed to have once lifted over 7,000 pounds with one arm. But in 1989, his official photographer Alex Zwarenstein revealed that Chinmoy had asked him to airbrush photographs to exaggerate his weightlifting ability. He also was publicly accused of sexual misconduct by Anne Carlton and two other former disciples. Carlton told the New York Post that Chinmoy summoned her for sexual encounters over two extended periods, in 1991 and 1996. Other women have also recounted similar stories, and one even revealed that Chinmoy had paid for her abortion after getting her pregnant in the early 1980s. However, the great spiritual teacher said the sexual allegations were false, insisting he was a life-long celibate.
Musician Carlos Santana was once a follower who had spoken glowingly of his guru. When the two parted ways, Santana told Rolling Stone magazine that Chinmoy became “vindictive” and “told all my friends not to call me ever again, because I was to drown in a dark sea of ignorance for leaving him”.
Indeed, the website Sri Chinmoy.TV continues to trumpet that “An honor bestowed on Chinmoy is that he is Spiritual Advisor to the United Nations.” The website also has this “brief history” of the great one:

Sri Chinmoy was orphaned at the age of 12. At that time he entered Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual community in South India. As a child Chinmoy had profound mystical experiences….. He resided at the ashram for 20 years practicing meditation and spiritual discipline. There he attained the level of Nirvikalpa Samadhi which is “the highest mystical state compatible with functioning in the physical world”…. In 1964 he received a call from God that took him to New York [and to the UN]. Three years after his arrival he founded the first Sri Chinmoy Centre. Today there are Sri Chinmoy Centres in 50 different countries the purpose of which are to provide a place to hold meditation classes and athletic events…. For the past 30 years Sri Chinmoy has resided in…New York promoting world peace and helping people search for inner truth.

The website also says that Chinmoy “has devout followers which he calls his children.”
Brett Schaefer of the Heritage Foundation reports: “The source and amounts of all U.S. funding to the myriad number of organizations affiliated with the United Nations are difficult to track accurately. This difficulty prompted Congress to pass legislation requiring the Administration to report annually on U.S. contributions to the U.N. A recent report to Congress by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on all U.S. funding to the U.N. system revealed that U.S. contributions to the U.N. system reached record levels in fiscal year (FY) 2009…. The U.S. has been the largest financial supporter of the U.N. since the organization’s founding in 1945. The U.S. is currently assessed 22% of the U.N. regular budget and more than 27% of the U.N. peacekeeping budget. In dollar terms, the Administration’s budget for FY 2011 requested $516.3 million for the U.N. regular budget and more than $2.182 billion for the peacekeeping budget. However, the U.S. also provides assessed financial contributions to other U.N. organizations and voluntary contributions to many more U.N. organizations. According to OMB, total U.S. contributions to the U.N. system were more than $6.347 billion in FY 2009. This is more than $1 billion more than total contributions as compiled by OMB for FY 2005, and it is indicative of the rising budgetary trends in the U.N. and the consequential demand on U.S. financial support.”

  1. …what about that florida minister who planted 12 UN workers
in afghanistan? who was he working for if not splitfoot? the closer
religion waxes towards politics the more excited the devil and his
    followers get.

  2. Thanks for writing about this. I’ve only recently been aware of the UN’s satanic leanings, and I’d think these things would spark a public outcry if they were more widely known.

  3. Thanks, Laurel, for your encouraging words. 🙂
Sunlight is the best disinfectant. We the People are cleaning house — here and in the UN.

  4. Because telling the difference between chick sh*t and chicken salad would be “judgmental” here… the mind reels. (A bloated left/liberal bureaucracy with too much money and too little oversight… and it’s about as well organized and run as student government in high school, except student government in high school had adult supervision.) You’ve got it, Eowyn.

  5. …i agree with eowyn, sunlight, we should push solar, it’s the only
    monotheism that works, forget oil.

  6. ABOLISH THE UN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are worthless. Defund.

  7. Eowyn, your research is most enlightening and also frightening. This fraud is a cult leader, full of narcissism, like Jim Jones, et al. And to think that this man was the chaplain for the United Nations. This defines who they are as well as their agenda.

  8. …@sagebrush. you’re being fatuous. history doesn’t prove anything,
mainly because we know so little about it. the story of civilization
is the story of history’s complete oblivion. right now i’m working
on a little matter of japanese history during the prechristian sea age,
2k bc, they were in mexico as the olmec/otomi tribes yet know nothing about it on Honshu, however it’s in their language record,
which is the best history book.
before Gaia gets me i’d like to see the planet take its first steps to energy self-sufficiency and stop playing a diller a dollar a government
collar on energy source every month when solar panels(china is
now manufacturing)will free us up to 40 yrs without an electrical bill.
why not let the first(and last)deity of our universe work for us,
rather than let it roll around heaven all day? can you name me another deity that’s a utility? the sun has never failed us:we fail
by not taking advantage. instead we prefer the marionettes and
puppets of our imagination because it allows us to be boss, take
an ego trip, and perpetuate slavery. get some new knowledge
threads, those hand-me-downs you got don’t serve you well.

    • tzopilotl:
Given that you’re in Mexico, as indicated by your IP address, no wonder you’re a sun god enthusiast, as the pre-Columbian Aztecs in MesoAmerica had not just one sun god, but sun gods, including Tezcatlipoca, Quetzalcoatl, Tlaloc, Chalchiuhtlicue and Ehecatl. (We’ll leave aside the curious matter that you, a 21st century creature, think a celestial object, the Sun, is divine — a deity. Should we, like the Aztecs, also offer human sacrifices to the sun gods?)
However, your comments have NOTHING to do with the subject of this post, which is about the UN being a hotbed of New Age Satanism. Instead, you have the appalling nerve to exploit my blog — a Christian blog — to peddle solar panels and paganism. This blog is not a public service for pagans. Henceforth, all comments from you will be deposited in our Spam folder.

  9. POW!
    Right in the kisser, too.

  10. …ignorance is your victory, embrace it.
    [Note from this blog’s Administrator:
I’m lifting this comment by the atavistic Aztec sungod worshipper from our Spam bin, to demonstrate how spiteful and contemptuous he is. This blog is not the US government; we have no obligation to provide anyone, no matter how offensive, a public forum.
tzopilotl calls us ignorant. He who exhorts us to worship the Sun — an astronomical object, a massive ball of plasma held together by gravity — calls us ignorant? Too funny.

    Really THANKS for your post/blog!

    • Thank you, rodolph, for alerting us to this Satanic Invocation Day organized by the Lucis/Lucifer Trust. I appreciate your kind words about the UN posts, especially since English is not your language.
      God bless! 🙂
