U. of Southern Maine professor offered students course credit to harass Sen. Susan Collins on Kavanaugh

The University of Southern Maine (USM) is a multi-campus public (i.e., taxpayer-supported) university and part of the University of Maine System. USM’s three primary campuses are located in Portland, Gorham and Lewiston.

Susan Feiner, 64, a recently-retired USM professor of women and gender studies, created a one-credit, tuition-free “pop-up” course on “Engaged Citizenship”. Pop-up courses offer credits that can be counted toward the 120 credit hours required for graduation. Students who enroll in Feiner’s course are required to bus to Washington, D.C., to harass (“meet with”) Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins on the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh.

On Oct. 3, 2018, Maine Republican Party posted this alert on its Facebook page:

RED ALERT: The University of Southern Maine uses your tax dollars, offers college credit to protest Sen. Collins in Washington D.C.

In an email from a University of Southern Maine Community Outreach Coordinator, U Maine students are told that they they can earn a free credit if they hop on a free bus ride down to Washington D.C. to protest Senator Collins.

The event page goes so far as to ask if STUDENTS are okay with being ARRESTED….

In case you were wondering, students who want to support Senator Collins are not welcome, as one individual who asked found out.

Below is the email from USM Community Outreach Coordinator Gabriel Demaine:

The Press Herald reports on Oct. 3, 2018, that USM President Glenn Cummings denounced the actions of Dr. Susan Feiner, a former professor of economics and women and gender studies, who had retired from the university on July 1. Calling her behavior “inappropriate” and “unacceptable,” Cummings said Feiner acted in a “very rogue manner” when she offered students a “pop-up” course and college credit to take a bus to Washington, D.C., with demonstrators planning to urge Sen. Susan Collins to oppose confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Cummings said the university is investigating how Feiner was able to advertise the course, which was done without approval from the committee of faculty and deans that reviews all pop-up course offerings.

Although Feiner’s bus did leave Portland, ME at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, President Cummings issued this statement:

This pop-up course was hastily arranged in the past 24 hours, without the knowledge of the Provost or myself. It was not appropriately reviewed nor went through proper channels. As soon as the Provost and I were apprised of the course, we immediately pulled the one-credit offering. We also made sure that no USM monies were being used for the trip.

University policy makes it absolutely clear that our public, taxpayer funded institutions must be non-partisan in terms of political activity and institutionally impartial in all political, religious, and social matters that are unrelated to our universities’ core mission of education, research and public service.

James Page, Chancellor of the University of Maine System, also issued a statement late Wednesday night:

“The use of institutional resources to advance a partisan agenda violates Board policies established to ensure Maine’s public universities remain non-partisan and politically neutral. Inviting arrest for college credit goes much further, violating the trust our students, their families, and Maine taxpayers have placed in our universities and could result in serious professional consequences.”

Cummings said he is not certain if or how Feiner, who has taught at USM for more than 30 years, could be disciplined since she has retired and is no longer working at USM.

However, Feiner says that although she is retired from the university, she intends to remain involved with the university’s Francis Perkins Institute that organizes pop-up courses. The courses are funded by a grant and offered free to students. Her goal is to offer 6 to 12 pop-up courses each semester.

Yesterday, despite all the pressure and threats, Sen. Susan Collins did the right thing by voting to confirm Kavanaugh, who was expeditiously sworn in as America’s 114th Supreme Court justice.

Why isn’t her JOB LOST even if she is part time! Brutal that educators are corrupting the young and dangling the CARROT under their noses of FREE TUITION WAIVED, FREE CREDIT and FREE TRIP to create havoc. Unbelievable!

Susan Feiner needs to be arrested and convicted for “Conspiracy to Defame” and I wonder if Feiner used University funds?

This is BLATANTLY illegal! Are the Feiner’s of the world have any Morals? Are they even human? She even looks criminal. This is the Left’s newest level of LOW. WOW!

This story is still in early development stages. I am sure Kavanaugh will be involved and I believe the case ahead is just warming up faster. This is getting interesting.

Just like when Pat Buchanan ran his “America First” campaigns, I and many others noticed the overwhelming numbers of AshkeNazis, who were opposing him and his Pro-American & anti-Globalist campaign platform. I am seeing the same thing again, and these current America hating Bolsheviks are getting more & more open with their calls for violence & intimidation, just like they did in Russia before they started their mass murder campaign of Christian opponents.

“Pussynomics: Regression to MEAN” by Susan Feiner of University of Southern Maine (PDF to download) https://www.paecon.net/PAEReview/issue79/Feiner79.pdf

[It’s about Trumponomics]
“The world knows this American president [Trump] for crude sexist/sexual declarations, compulsive pathological lying, and friendships with racists, homophobes and anti-semites.
So what?
Plenty of liars, bigots and skirt chasers have called the White House home. Still he’s terrifying, conjuring dread as surely as the Bates Motel in Hitchcock’s Psycho. Donald Trump: salesman, TV huckster and sexual predator triggers primitive, infantile fears…”

I’ve heard it suggested that Jews carry a mental virus that is passed down. Another way I guess you could conceive it is that they are generationally possessed. Either way, collectively there is something wrong with them. They even have higher rate of schizophrenia.

I’m gonna use my statistic (no, you can’t stop me!): In the USA, <3%. Worldwide .4% (four-tenths of one percent). Now, how do we account for the degree of damage and destruction given the population?

There are probably more Samoans than this. When was the last time you read about a Samoan kiddy-porn ring, or some flaky transgender legislation coming from a Samoan?

There's a sickness alright. Part of it is due to lifelong training.

Due to lifelong training … hmmm. I’m a “leading edge” Boomer who grew up and lived in Fairfield County, CT (I’m far away now). One day recently, a random thought lead me to think back to my grade school years. There were about 30 – 35 or so students in each class and there were 2 or 3 classes for each grade. I could recall the names of the kids who were my regular buddies through the years … and I could also recall the names in one other group: Schwimmer, Kleinman, Friedman, Putterman, Boschnak. These weren’t kids that I… Read more »

Yes, your experience sounds similar to mine. I can’t really say that I understood the whys of this at the time. It simply came across as arrogant and rude. In later years I came to see what it developed into. I think I have sufficient insight into why this is so, it doesn’t really change anything, however. When I talk about this my intent is that people get a sense for why things are the way they are. It would thrill me if they’d stop trying to make them into something they’re not. One common error is that Christians tend… Read more »

And their hatred & paranoia of White Christians & our cultures, societies, nations & Civilization, and powerful positions on the Supreme Court, Media, Government, Corporations, & Education, very very dangerous enemies. As writer Michael Bradley noted on the Ashkenazis: Their “chosen people” pretension is a typical Neanderthal in-group obsession that is actually a genetic racist predisposition against all other humans. It is a genetically determined “us against them” mentality. Their higher level of known Neanderthal aggression against outsiders is responsible for their disproportional social influence wherever they have settled in the West. Yep, I concur. And we’ve all heard about Pogroms and violence against them. That is not true. They did majority of the Pogroms themselves. The did it is RU and GE. Lord knows where else they did those same Pogroms. Today, they’re doing modern Pogroms against “real” American People with over 1,000 NGOs in USA’s who’re all Pro-Immigration, especially Muslims from Somalia. In 2015 (I think) DHS gave the USA Jewish Communities $97 Million to strengthen their communities. Wow. First, she has no authority to obligate the university and should be charged for doing so. That could even mean loss of her retirement and should absolutely mean rescinding any and all “privileges” she may have with the school. Somebody had to pay for this. Besides falsely and fraudulently obligating the university to compensate students for partisan politics, she is trading on the school’s reputation by giving the impression that her political beliefs are fully supported by the institution. Lastly, as Dr. E says…she is insane. Somehow these people have convinced themselves that they are smarter and more moral… Read more »

Yes, I’ve thought about it many times. It was similar in China. Describing the Reds as “Russian” is more than misleading. You see this is another common tactic. They are whatever nationality they feel like claiming if it suits them. It is a double-problem with “dual citizenship” here. Most don’t begin to understand this.

Napoleon recognized this problem in France. By using his “interrogation” he managed to calm it down significantly for a while at least. I don’t believe there is an example of a country remaining free by inviting the enemy to live within its borders.

What, exactly, does one do with a degree in “women and gender studies”?
Answer: Become a political activist. Or a politician… or homeless.

I’m thinking of switching fields to start teaching “mens and gender studies”. Except for the fact I have too much respect for myself and higher education.

This whack job should lose her access to and control in the pop-up program.

Thank God for the university’s good president and chancellor!

It’s been pointed out that if you scratch the surface, the Democrats’ calls for “social justice” turn out to be sham excuses for vengeance against American men of white European ancestry. The only blacks or Hispanics allowed into the Feiner household, you can bet, are there to clean the toilets and do the laundry at slave wages. Her tactics make her motives clear enough, mainly hatred and vengeance against everything Kavanaugh represents. For my two cents, I don’t see this orgy of hate over Kavanaugh’s confirmation as being about Roe v Wade, except in a secondary way. Roe v Wade… Read more »

We don’t need to look any further than the fact the heart is full of evil and from there springs every evil word, thought and dead. Evil is universal, a trait all of us possess. We have the capability to be a Jack the Ripper or a Mother Teresa but the majority of us are somewhere in the middle of those extremes. I maintain people like the professor here have gyrated toward the Ripper side for most of their lives only revealing it when they need an excuse to reveal it. If not now, then eventually. @Mad Celt I do agree, with the analogy of the evil of Jack the Ripper and the “idea” based on the media’s portrayal of Mother Teresa as being good and moral. However, further studies into Mother Teresa finds she was not too good, or moral. Fact is, she throughly enjoyed seeing people in poverty and also those who were sick or most especially, to see those in pain or be at the bedside of those who were actively dying. Mainstream Media is a funny critter, they create all the characters we’re supposed to get to know. Some researchers dig deeper,… Read more »
