Tony Brown's Journal "Living on the Down low"

Rate this post

I saw this program when it originally aired on PBS.  It addresses the “Downlow Phenomenon”, what Tony Brown calls the “secret society” of black men, family men, who profess heterosexuality, but secretly practice a gay lifestyle. I have not seen  “Tony Brown’s  Journal” on the schedule of my local PBS station for quite awhile. I don’t know if the subject matter discussed here was the reason his show was dropped.  Youtube indicates it was uploaded to Youtube June 12, 2008.   Judge for yourself.

I seem to recall this phenomenon described directly in connection to the Usurper in the White House, in the story about Man Country & Rahm Emmanuel in Chicago……..

Sage, this is just a clip from a longer program. Later in the program they discussed the social cost to the African-American community, the spread of HIV-Aids to the unknowing wives, etc. It was a very powerful program. All I could find was this clip.
In Washington State, the black evangelical preacher, Ken Hutcherson, has led the fight to protect the family from legalization of same-sex marriage legislation.

  3. Has Tony Brown’s Journal ceased production?
It seems to have been replaced by Tavis Smiley.
