Tolerant of your beliefs?

Manhattan Mini Storage (MMS) is a family-owned and operated self storage and moving company based in New York City. It is the largest personal storage company in New York, and one of the largest in the United States. MMS has approximately 250,000 clients. Facilities include high-tech security system, free concierge and onsite managers

MMS likes to express their political beliefs.  The company is known for its controversial, political, and pop culture-related advertisements that speak to the people of New York City. In one of their advertisements, they pictured a gay man with the tagline: “Don’t make us send 5 queer guys to your place.”

In phone booths, the company has posted stickers saying: “Your closet’s scarier than Bush’s agenda,” “Your closet is so narrow it makes Cheney look liberal,” as well as “We have more wiggle room than Herman Cain’s morals.”

Additionally, some of their advertising was noted in local press outlets for its mainstreaming of gay characters. One such ad under its “I Store!” campaign, featured a doctor seated on the subway with copy that listed what he stored, “Boyfriend’s Artwork, Vinyl Albums, Chemistry Set”. This ad, depicting a gay character in an off-hand way, was praised for its inclusion of gay characters as normative and not only relevant for stereotypes or demographic pursuit.

Manhattan Mini Storage’s 2011 Ad campaign included topical and New-York centric billboards such as “Michele Bachmann says God told her to run for President. How come God never talks to smart people anymore?” They also featured a sign saying, “If you don’t like gay marriage, don’t get gay married“. The company’s gay marriage ad was also accompanied by a promotion aimed at gay newlyweds after the NY Marriage Equality act was passed in July 2011.

If you plan on storing any items at MMS, make sure to not store your guns there.  They apparently have no tolerance for the Second Amendment.

  1. Tolerance for left/liberals and their ideas only…

  2. If they didn’t carry so much excess baggage maybe they wouldn’t need a storage facility, either for their stuff or their brains overstuffed with cotton, instead of common sense.

One thing never changes, and that is God. He may love us but he can never tolerate our immoral behavior………..oh and my guns are safe where they are and not in their hands.

  3. Are there any left in NY city

  4. I drive a yellow cab in New York. (At least I used to—I’ve taken the summer off). I’ve seen these various signs from Manhattan Mini-Storage all over for the past three or so years now. Manhattan Mini-Storage isn’t the only offender: Ken Cole follows the same marketing strategy hawking his shoes.
I don’t like it, but it’s a free country. But the day will come when, somehow, to some degree and in some way, we’ll be forced to bow to, or financially support, this marketing that, regrettably, qualifies as “speech.” It just goes to show you that the Left will be glad to benefit from these marketing ploys, just so long as a conservative cause does not do the same. Years ago, there was a pro-life billboard on Atlantic Avenue that showed a fetus in-utero. Some pastor paid for it. Protest of some sort followed for a couple of months. That billboard came down. There’s the Left for you.
