Trump-haters triggered by ‘Presidential Alert’ cell-phone text message

The cell-phone alert is postponed to October 3, 2018, because of Hurricane Florence. (iHeartRadio)

Originally scheduled for today, at 2:18 p.m. EDT, all U.S. cellphones will make a loud tone, vibrate, and receive a “Presidential Alert” text message.

Do not be alarmed.

The message will read:

THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.

Two minutes after the cell phone alert, a test alert will also be sent to radio and television broadcasters, interrupting programming for about one minute.

The alert is a test of a previously unused alert system to warn the public about national emergencies. Obama had signed a law in 2016 requiring Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to create a system allowing the president to send cellphone alerts regarding public safety emergencies.

Since the wireless emergency alert system began in 2012, it has issued over 36,000 alerts for situations such as missing children, extreme weather and natural disasters, but never a presidential directive. The president has sole responsibility for determining when the national-level alerts are used.

Cell phone users can opt out of natural disaster or missing children alerts, but they will not be able to opt out of a Presidential Alert. (New York Post)

Even though it was Obama who signed the Presidential Alert system into law, the fact that cell-phones today will get a text alert from — HORRORS! — the Trump administration has triggered the already unhinged Left, making them even crazier. Some examples:

  • Actress Alyssa Milano tweets: “I don’t want this. How do we opt out, @fema? I know trump isn’t big on consent but I don’t consent to this.”
  • @YBNSteve: “I don’t want alerts on my phone from any president let alone trump”
  • @JohnPavlovitz: “I want to know how to opt out of this Presidency.”
  • @ScottG305: “The only message I want from DT is that he is resigning. That aside I opt out.”
  • @KatFtAV: “I want to opt out of his fake presidency AND him having access to my fucking cell phone!!! HELL TO THE NO!!!”

  1. Update: “The Federal Emergency Management Agency, which oversees the wireless emergency alert (WEA) system, announced that the test that had been scheduled for Thursday will be pushed back to Oct. 3, citing the “ongoing response efforts to Hurricane Florence.”

  2. I receive text messages from both Rs and Ds, including Michelle Obama. Don’t know how all got my number…

There’s a little function for those sensitive types: Delete. It takes some effort yet is really not that complicated.

    Some people are so touchy…

I wonder if they couldn’t alternatively simply move to Canada? Or France? The latter would undoubtedly result in requiring different cell service, which likely wouldn’t even carry the American Presidential Emergency Service… They’d be accomplishing dual goals as well, by opting out of “Trump as My President”!

I fully support them choosing this path.

      • I LOVE that idea;I’d further suggest that, for those without enough “balls” to back up their words, they should be committed to a Mental Asylum, since most facilities don’t allow cell phones to their “inmates”. Problem solved-part II.

  3. No doubt their concerns stem from the probability that these liberal thugs will be at the root of any social, civil, or political emergencies, or actions that will require immediate true patriotic citizen knowledge and/or response.

  4. Betcha those alerts come into the goverment’s freebie phones granted to those that cannot afford to buy cell phones AT TAXPAYERS’ EXPENSE!

  6. I do not know if FOTM has ever done coverage of Dr Rossiter’s book “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness”
This test case from the book is quite fascinating & frightening (Liberal brainwashed zombies)

“In a study, he conducted he used a simple RGB color chart test to assess the psychological functioning of the minds of liberals. Testing a control group of individuals professing to be Democrats and an equal number professing to be Republicans he showed them the three primary colors – RGB. Red, green, and blue, and asked each of the participants to identify the colors. The two groups were screened for color blindness prior to the test.

While 98% of Republican subjects correctly and immediately identified the three colors as being red, green, and blue, 72% of the Democrat subjects became agitated at being asked the question. 86% of them had to be asked 10 or more times to name the colors. 46% of them accused the organizers of the test of being racist. 11% said the test was misogynistic.

17% claimed it was offensive to minorities. 79% of the Democrat subjects claimed that the definition of color was subjective and varied with the eye of the beholder. 22% claimed that color was a ‘personal thing’ and shouldn’t be quantified in this manner. 43% said that the question was biased. 19% accused the interviewer of being a ‘denier’. 45% of the Democrat subjects declared the test to be homophobic. 70% of them petitioned the university to have Dr. Rossiter fired from his teaching post. He was later banned from speaking at several university events. Of the Democrat group, only 4% of the subjects were able, after some consternation, willing to admit that the three colors were indeed red, green, and blue. Maybe.”

Just astonishing. And yet, not surprising. And sadly, somewhat amusing.
The reason lies here: “79% of the Democrat subjects claimed that the definition of color was subjective and varied with the eye of the beholder.”

Everything is relative to them; they hold there is no “Absolute Truth”, no “Universal Moral Values”, and of course, “No God ” (the fool hath said).

As the article states, “For proper brain function, secure, stable reference points are essential.” That’s why we have rules and laws by which we must abide in order to get along in a civilized society. Which is why many of them can *not*. And I’m speaking of the wacky far-left progressives, not old-school liberals who once did many charitable things to help others in the world…

They simply don’t accept any authority over them, no responsibility for their words and actions, and no accountability for their lack thereof.

I like the site you introduced here; through it, I also found an article that states, “Kavanaugh Accuser’s Lawyer is Vice Chair of Soros Funded Org Opposing Kavanaugh”.
      Mic drop… boom.
Now we know… the rest… of the story.

    • I suppose, on a certain level, this lack of objectivity is necessary to reach the degree of emptiness required to absorb their bunk. I have often noticed the tendency to look left and right before answering even simple questions.

In fact, the current generation decidedly does not like conversation. Maybe this is why. There is no one to validate anything they may say. I just see the ultimate conformists. The worst thing a person can be in their world is unique.

    • Stunning! This study shows liberalism is not just a mental disorder, it is also a severe COGNITIVE disorder — the end result of the Left’s insistence that all is relative, that there are no objective or absolute truths. Of course, the statement “all is relative” is self-defeating and cannot be a true statement because, as they themselves insist, there are no objective truths! And so, the Left are caught in their self-constructed mad-house of radical solipsism.

      • That’s an excellent point. A “cognitive disorder”. It is a “willful” cognitive disorder, I believe. I think that, for them, nothing exists that their confederates don’t acknowledge.

What matters to them is the meme. Anything that serves to detract from “the meme” does not exist. With that as a given, it makes little sense to try to reason with them.

        • People who insist, illogically and self-defeatingly, that “all truths are relative” cannot be reasoned with.

          • You are, of course, absolutely right.

          • I think they also don’t have enough conviction in their “beliefs” to stand their ground on their position. It’s like stating your position on an issue VERY EMPHATICALLY,then closing with “or maybe not….”

      • Good point about relativism.

Moral relativism defines the left, especially the GTBL crowd, how they claim to have the moral high ground because they’re “inclusive”, conveniently forgetting their chosen behavior is quite IMmoral (do as I say, not as I do…).

        • It isn’t just moral (values) relativism any more — that what’s good or bad is relative and subjective. The Left now champion EMPIRICAL (factual, cognitive) relativism: colors (red, black) are relative; what’s true or false is relative; etc.

Simply put, it’s the road to madness. We cannot have a society when people believe that morals and facts are relative.

    • My initial reading of this study was that the results were made up – tongue-in-cheek sarcasm so to speak. If they’re not, I’m glad I’m the age I am, because this country is going straight to hell.

  7. I don’t know if others have concerns like I do about the pathological level of hatred being generated. Many of them are in a frenzy. There is nothing to be in a frenzy about.

I understand that the television is being used for mind-control but its hard to believe how effective it is. It has the opposite effect on me. I don’t like anyone telling me what to do or think, let alone the TV.

We discuss this often here in one form or another. I have to admit, I’m dumbfounded by their ability to manufacture hate on demand. I’m also astonished at people’s ability to hate and not care. That degree of emotion should automatically inspire some inner search for what’s driving it.

I can only conclude that these are essentially empty people. They have stripped them of their history and they are installing hate to fill the void.

  8. Something like this:

  9. Funny how the “test of the Emergency Broadcast System” did nothing to prevent the Crime Against Humanity we know as 9/11.

Oh, someone got a patronage job over it. ‘Natch.

  10. Better go get him fitted for one of those pink hats. I’m thoroughly disgusted. I guess Rosenstein is President.
