The Road

Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say”
― J.R.R. Tolkien,
The Fellowship of the Ring

I can picture 4 hobbits walking this path, on their way from Farmer Maggot’s farm in the Shire to the Prancing Pony in Bree.

  1. That’s cool! Reminds me of how I go from A to B-with a detour down interesting roads, over hills,or across a valley to find what I saw reflecting sunlight on a hill 10 miles away. That straight line from A to B becomes 40 miles of round and round,up and down…..
