The meaning of the U.S. Flag ceremony

The first fold of our flag is a symbol of life.
The second fold is a symbol of our belief the eternal life.
The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of the veteran departing our ranks who gave a portion of life for the defense of our country to attain a peace throughout the world.
The fourth fold represents our weaker nature, for as American citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in time of war for His divine guidance.
The fifth fold is a tribute to our country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, “Our Country, in dealing with other countries may she always be right; but it is still our country, right or wrong.”
The sixth fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
The seventh fold is a tribute to our Armed Forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that we protect our country and our flag against all her enemies, whether they be found within or without the boundaries of our republic.
The eighth fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor mother, for whom it flies on Mother’s Day.
The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood; for it has been through their faith, love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great have been molded.
The tenth fold is a tribute to the father, for he, too, has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since they were first born.
The eleventh fold, in the eyes of a Hebrew citizen represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon, and glorifies in their eyes, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
The twelfth fold, in the eyes of a Christian citizen, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Ghost.
When the flag is completely folded, thirteenth fold, the stars are uppermost reminding us of our national motto, “In God We Trust”.

After the flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the Soldiers who served under General George Washington and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed Forces of the United States, preserving for us the rights, privileges, and freedoms we enjoy today.
The next time you see a flag ceremony honoring someone who has served our country, either in the Armed Forces or in our civilian services such as the Police force or Fire Department, keep in mind all the important reasons behind each and every movement. For the flag ceremony is America’s tribute to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.

H/t beloved Wendy, a vet.

That flag is an idol. All of the presidents bowed to that idol. All of those presidents did not represent Jesus in character. Washington is a murderer, and humans deify him. Not a single president wanted anyone to save their soul wanting to save a corruptible body that dies. We should take the money that has the images of those murderous humans on the coins, and bills, and burn, and melt them down, and then give to God what is Gods. That would be giving to the spirit of God in us giving what God made to each other judging ourselves. All… Read more »

That flag is an idol. I do not see Jesus the lover of all in it. Jesus shed his blood for us. That is all the blood That needs to be spilled. First fold;that flag is a flag of death for those under it have died in what is called human sacrifice. Second fold; The ones doing what the humans did bowing to Baal the bull god Molech or Dagon the god of the Philistines which represent. All represent Satan the killer of souls. giving eternal death not eternal life to be vaporized in the light of the father of lights… Read more »

I went after every fold on a post. I did not see it posted no this web page. it is posted on my Facebook page. Humans are worshiping the devil when they worship that flag. That is not the only one. The gay, and zoosexual flag are the only two flags with no blood on them calling for war.,

I think I will clear the air with an anecdote about my nephew’s retirement ceremony. He served in the USNavy and retired as a senior.chief. During his ceremony they lined up servicemen and woman for every rank up to his. They folded the flag and then very beautifully passsed the flag from the E1 up to E8 . As it passed from hand to hand music played softly and a young woman read a poem. After Steve received the flag he gave it to his mom. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house and we are all eternally grateful… Read more »

Thank you! The ceremony in its entirety was quite beautiful. Most of our immediate family was able to be there to share in this honor. Though my husband did not make the Navy his careeer he served honorably during the Vietnam era, as did Steve’s dad and his father in law( they are deceased). Steve acknowledged their service in his speech and Lou was quite touched . Love of country lives in our hearts.
