The kitten with a human-like face

Tatiana Rastorgueva has a two-month-old Maine Coon kitten named Valkyrie.

After Tatiana posted Valkyrie’s pictures and videos on Instagram, they went viral because people can’t get over the fact that the kitten’s face is uncannily human-like.

Is it Valkyrie’s eyes? The length of her nose?

Whatever the reason, Val is indisputably cute.

  1. Interesting little one. The one picture makes the kitten look like one of the creatures from Star Wars, but because I never watched it, I can’t remember the creature’s name.

  2. Makes one think of the movie “A Dog’s Purpose”. Some speculate the Maine Coon Cat was brought to Maine by Vikings.

  3. Just looks like a cute kitten to me.

  4. The bottom pic looks like a dumocrap after an election LOSS? I don’t know whether to just continue to cry or to WHINE with my cheese??

  5. Meeeeeooooowwwwww!

  6. Yep, they got expressions like humans.
Looks like my Russian Blue cat, named Myra. Had to put her down at age 17, fast growing mouth cancer, said to be common in elder kitties.
Boo hoo hoo! Yep, I cried for months.

  7. Interesting that you say this is uncanny, Dr. E, because that cat really tanks down in the depths of the Uncanny Valley.

  8. Sort of resembles Wilford Brimley if you ask me!
There’s one great quality about animals: They have a certain frankness. This little Valkyrie really is a cutie!

  9. It does look human like. I wonder if the Maine Coon Cat is related to the Norwegian Forest Cat.

    • I’ve read of a possible connection between Norwegian Forest Cats and Maine Coon Cats. A friend of mine had a Norwegian that loved to play fetch. We have a Maine Coon with a very expressive face.

  10. Totes adorbs! Very unique face on that kitty.
