Virginia Senate blocks Demonrat Gov. Northam’s gun-control bill

Since last November 6’s election that gave control of Virginia’s entire state government to Democrats, led by pro-abort Gov. Ralph Northam (D), Democrats have been on a tear to impose gun control. See:

On Monday, February 3, two Democrats in the State Judiciary Committee– state Sens. Creigh Deeds and Chap Petersen — joined Republicans to defeat a gun control bill proposed by Demonrat governor Northam.

Louis Casiano reports for Fox News that Northam’s bill would make it a felony to “recklessly leave a loaded, unsecured firearm” in a way that endangers a minor.

Another bill to ban so-called assault weapons like AR-15 rifles is also likely to be rejected.

The bill that’s been rejected by the State Judiciary Committee is one of eight that Northam has proposed for adoption, including bills limiting handgun purchases to once a month; universal background checks on gun purchases; and a red flag bill allowing authorities to temporarily take guns away from anyone deemed to be “dangerous” to themselves or others.

Some of Northam’s gun control bills have passed in the state’s Democrat-controlled General Assembly, which both chambers will hash out their differences in the coming weeks.
