#Liars & #FakeNews: Lanny Davis admits he was source for fake Trump Tower story and that he lied about it on air

Liars gonna lie. And CNN will have their backs.

From MSN: Lanny Davis, the high-powered attorney of President Trump’s longtime “fixer”-turned-foe Michael Cohen, admitted Monday he was an anonymous source for a bombshell CNN story on the infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting — after The Washington Post outed him as a source for its own story.

Davis told BuzzFeed News Monday night he regretted being the anonymous source as well as his subsequent denial. The CNN story, which cited multiple “sources,” claimed Cohen said President Trump knew in advance about the Trump Tower sit-down.

“I made a mistake,” Davis told BuzzFeed.

CNN, which has stood by its reporting, did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Davis spent recent days walking back his bombshell assertions that his client could tell Special Counsel Robert Mueller that Trump had prior knowledge of the meeting with a Russian lawyer discussing potentially damaging information on Hillary Clinton.

Trump has denied knowledge all along, and fired back following CNN’s report last month.

“I did NOT know of the meeting with my son, Don jr. Sounds to me like someone is trying to make up stories in order to get himself out of an unrelated jam (Taxi cabs maybe?). He even retained Bill and Crooked Hillary’s lawyer. Gee, I wonder if they helped him make the choice!” Trump tweeted on July 27.

The CNN report from July 27 headlined, “Cohen claims Trump knew in advance of 2016 Trump Tower meeting,” cited “sources with knowledge,” contradicting repeated denials by Trump and his surrogates, as Fox News previously reported. CNN’s report resulted in countless cable news segments and sent other news organizations scurrying to match.

Among them was The Washington Post. On Sunday, the newspaper published an interview in which Davis backpedaled.

Davis, attempting to clean up his comments in interviews last week after Cohen pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations, tax evasion and bank fraud, told the Post he “should have been more clear” that he “could not independently confirm what happened.”

Davis said he regretted his “error.”

Davis’s latest comments cast doubt on what Cohen may know, including about a June 2016 meeting in New York’s Trump Tower attended by Trump’s eldest son and a Russian lawyer,” the Post wrote on Sunday night.

Davis started walking back the allegations last week, when during an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, he was asked whether there was evidence that Trump knew about the meeting before it happened. “No, there’s not,” Davis said.

He told BuzzFeed on Monday night about his comments to Cooper: “I did not mean to be cute.”

1 dead in Trump Tower fire

[wpvideo WgNqY7NA]
The New York Post reports that just before 6 p.m. this evening, April 7, 2018, a four-alarm fire broke out on the 50th floor of Trump Tower on 5th Avenue in Manhattan.
First responders performed CPR on a 67-year-old man who lives in the building before he was rushed to Mount Sinai West, where he died. Four firefighters were injured but are expected to recover.
Firefighters and Secret Service agents checked out Trump’s penthouse pad and didn’t immediately find any damage, officials said.
President Trump tweeted at 6:42 p.m. that the fire was under control:

“Fire at Trump Tower is out. Very confined (well built building). Firemen (and women) did a great job. THANK YOU!”

The FDNY said the blaze was brought under control at 7:40 p.m.
FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro said: “This is a very difficult fire as you can imagine. The apartment is quite large — we are 50 stories up — the rest of the building had a considerable amount of smoke.”
Lalitha Mason, a 36th-floor resident, said the blaze was frightening:

“We’re terrified. It was a very horrible experience – there was no evacuation system in place – we were at a loss of what to do. I almost fainted – I thought we would die. This looks similar to when 9/11 took place. My husband is disabled and we were helpless. All we could do is put wet towels under the door and pray.”

An employee from the Gucci store on the ground floor said he could smell smoke:

“We smelled smoke coming through the vents, our clients and personnel were evacuated. We were assured they had it under control and it was precautionary. Definitely a noticeable smell [of smoke]coming through the vents.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Update (April 8):

Washington Post says it was a “small electrical fire”. The Secret Service spotted the fire, notified building managers, who called 911. There was no evacuation because the fire wasn’t in the building, it was on top of the building” in a cooling tower, the fire department said on Twitter. “We had flames coming out of the vents, no smoke condition or fire was on the inside.”
CBS News, however, says the fire was in the apartment of the man who died — 67-year-old Todd Brassner, and that the fire was the SECOND fire in Trump Tower this year (we’re only in April).

Liberal tolerance: Actress Ellen Pompeo says she doesn't want Trump supporters for fans

Ellen Pompeo Getting Coffee In Hollywood

Ellen Pompeo: Just a straight savage…

I will comply! Never was a fan of hers and never will be.
I’m also sick of Yahoo’s bias reporting. Ugh.
From Yahoo: While once upon a time stars were advised not to ruffle feathers by expressing political views (or other topics deemed controversial) for fear of hurting their brand, that time has passed. With Donald Trump’s controversial election win, which only a handful of Hollywooders were excited about (see: Scott Baio), and the unpopular decisions he’s made since he took office, we’ve entered what can only be described as the “take no crap” era. Celebs aren’t having it in any way, shape, or form.
While some famous folks have always clapped back at their trolls, we’ve seen even more come out swinging recently. And they’ve moved past the polite “unfollow me” response. Things have escalated to: Don’t like me or what I’m saying? Don’t be my fan. Don’t watch my show. Don’t go see my movie.
May we point you in the direction of Ellen Pompeo‘s feed. On Monday, the Grey’s Anatomy star didn’t pull any punches when she tweeted to her 1.3 million fans: “News flash… I don’t want Trump supporters for fans. Einstein.”
It started when the TV star, 47, shared a story about an 8-year-old biracial boy being the victim of an apparent lynching.
The hashtags that Pompeo, whose three children are mixed-race, used must have gotten folks riled up (again, she wasn’t pulling punches, using #gof*ckyourselvestrumpsupporters and #especiallythewomen). But she was in a “don’t come at me” kind of space.
Her blunt replies led to some followers questioning whether she was hacked. She wasn’t. As she explained, she’s just “straight savage when it comes to doing the right thing.”
Pompeo has become more politically outspoken than in her early days on her doctor drama. She was vocal about getting people to the polls prior to the election and obviously even more so after Hillary Clinton’s loss. Who can forget her headline-making tweet to Ivanka Trump about Jared Kushner? Not us. But, hey, it fits with the whole “straight savage” thing.
Olivia Wilde, who’s currently starring in 1984 on Broadway, has long been politically outspoken — and has protested several times this year, including outside Trump Tower in NYC in August after the president defended the actions of white supremacists, neo-Nazis, and the KKK in Charlottesville, Va. It was around that time that the actress — whose mom, Leslie Cockburn, is running for congress in Virginia — addressed “Trumpy Trolls” who had apparently been hassling her and threatening to boycott her work.
Not only did she tell them to go ahead and boycott her movies, but Wilde, who has 1.85 million Twitter followers, did so along with the middle finger emoji. Nothing ambiguous there.
