Fit for CIC? Clinton discussed executed Iranian scientist on email

Keep in mind, if any military personnel had done what Hillary did with her private server and emails, they’d be in Leavenworth.

Tom Cotton drops a bomb...

Senator Tom Cotton drops a bomb…

From Washington Examiner: Hillary Clinton recklessly discussed, in emails hosted on her private server, an Iranian nuclear scientist who was executed by Iran for treason, Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said Sunday.
“I’m not going to comment on what he may or may not have done for the United States government, but in the emails that were on Hillary Clinton’s private server, there were conversations among her senior advisors about this gentleman,” he said on “Face the Nation.” Cotton was speaking about Shahram Amiri, who gave information to the U.S. about Iran’s nuclear program.
The senator said this lapse proves she is not capable of keeping the country safe. That goes to show just how reckless and careless her decision was to put that kind of highly classified information on a private server. And I think her judgment is not suited to keep this country safe,” he said.
The revelation could cause further political damage to Clinton, who was already on the defensive Sunday after commenting oddly last week that she had “short-circuited” in a statement related to her honesty about the email scandal.
Republican nominee Donald Trump seized on the statement to question her mental stability.

Iran confirmed on Sunday that Amiri had been hanged for treason. He was convicted of spying charges in a death sentence case that was upheld on appeal, according to the Associated Press.
“This person who had access to the country’s secret and classified information had been linked to our hostile and No. 1 enemy, America, the Great Satan” a spokesman for the Iranian judiciary said. “He provided the enemy with vital and secret information of the country.”
His body was returned to his mother with rope marks around the neck.
It would appear possible that discussion on an unclassified — and quite possibly hacked — email system about a person who was hanged as a spy will have a chilling effect on others who might want to engage in espionage for the United States.
Amiri disappeared while on a religious pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia in 2009, but he then resurfaced a year later in the U.S., where he visited the Iranian interest section of the Pakistani embassy and demanded to be sent home to Iran. While Amiri told reporters that he was held against his will by both the Saudis and the Americans, U.S. officials said he was receiving millions of dollars for information he provided about Iran’s nuclear program.
The scientist shows up in Clinton’s emails back in 2010, just nine days before he returned to Iran. “We have a diplomatic, ‘psychological’ issue, not a legal one. Our friend has to be given a way out,” the email by Richard Morningstar, a former State Department special envoy for Eurasian energy, read, according to the Associated Press. “Our person won’t be able to do anything anyway. If he has to leave so be it.”
Cotton Sunday also accused the Obama administration of “working like a gun cartel” by sending $400 million to Iran in what many regard as ransom for hostages. Hillary Clinton’s vice presidential running mate Tim Kaine described the payment as “appropriate.”

Hillary Clinton's $1 trillion tax hikes will hit the middle class and every American

If Americans are so stupid and devoid of a moral compass as to elect pathological liar Hillary Clinton as president, they will get their just dessert when she unleashes a tsunami of taxes that will hit, not just “the rich,” but also the middle class and every American.
Hillary makes devil sign
Based on her campaign’s own figures, President Hillary will raise our taxes by a mind-boggling $1 trillion, at least, over the next 10 years.
If you think the $1 trillion in new taxes will come from “the rich” alone, then you’re living in Lala Land.
On July 24, 2016, interviewed on CBS’s 60 Minutes, correspondent Scott Pelley asked Hillary Clinton about her planned tax increases: “Who gets a tax increase? Who gets a tax cut?”
Hillary replied: “The middle class will not get a tax increase. That has been my pledge.”
When asked what “middle class” means, Hillary unambiguously replied, “Well, we say below $250,000.”
But her “rock-solid” pledge not to raise taxes on middle-class Americans is a lie, because Hillary already has endorsed the following tax increases on not just middle income, but all Americans:

1) Payroll tax hike

On January 11, 2016, during the Brown & Black Democratic Presidential Forum at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, referring to a plan called the FAMILY Act, which calls for a payroll tax increase on all Americans with wages of $113,700 and more, moderator Alicia Melendez pointedly asked Hillary if a payroll tax “were to reach your desk as President, would you veto it in order to make good on your tax pledge?” Hillary answered: “No. No.”
A video of Hillary’s tax hike admission can be viewed here. The relevant portion begins at 1:47:00.
Hillary’s refusal to veto a payroll tax is consistent with her admission on ABC’s This Week with George Stephanopoulos on December 6, 2015, that her promise of “no tax increases at all on anyone earning $250,000” is merely a “goal”.

2) $350 Billion Income Tax increase

To pay for her proposed $350 billion New College Compact — of greatly-reduced costs for all students who attend a 4-year public state college, and free tuition for community college students — Hillary proposes a $350 billion 10-year income tax hike in the form of a 28% cap on itemized deductions.

3) Soda tax

Most, if not all, Americans drink soda.
On April 20, 2016, despite her “rock-solid” pledge to the American people that she will not raise taxes on anyone earning less than $250,000, speaking in Philadelphia, Hillary said she is “very supportive” of a soda tax: “I’m very supportive of the mayor’s proposal to tax soda to get universal preschool for kids. I mean, we need universal preschool, and if that’s a way to do it, that’s how we should do it.”
The tax would be three cents per ounce of soda, which means 36 cents for the standard 12-oz. can of soda pop.
Hillary’s official campaign plan also calls for universal preschool for the entire country, which of course will have to be paid for — with higher taxes.

Hillary’s endorsement of a soda tax led her then-opponent Bernie Sanders to call it a regressive tax that would mainly hit low-income Americans. As reported by NBC News and The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross, Sanders said:

“Frankly, I am very surprised that Secretary Clinton would support this regressive tax after pledging not to raise taxes on anyone making less than $250,000. This proposal clearly violates her pledge.”
“The mechanism here is fairly regressive. And that is, it will be increasing taxes on low income and working people.”

4) 25% national gun tax

In October 2015, NBC News reported that a study found that a third of Americans said they owned at least one gun. According to the Census Bureau, the U.S. population on January 1, 2015, was 320.09 million, which means as many as 106.7 million Americans owned a gun. That number is probably larger because when asked by a polling group, Americans likely would deny they have one instead of lie that they own gun(s).
On Sept. 30, 1993, in a passionate Senate testimony, calling gun owners and dealers “purveyors of violence,” Hillary Clinton endorsed a new national 25% retail sales tax on guns and $2,500 license fees for gun dealers, saying “I am speaking personally, but I feel very strongly about that.”

5) Carbon Tax

The 2016 Democrat Party platform endorses a carbon tax because “Democrats believe that carbon dioxide, methane, and other greenhouse gases should be priced to reflect their negative externalities, and to accelerate the transition to a clean economy and help meet out climate goals.”
Consistent with her party’s platform, Hillary’s campaign manager John Podesta recently said she would be open to a carbon tax. As reported by Politico Pro, Podesta told reporters, after speaking at an event hosted by green groups: “Right now we’ve not proposed a carbon tax. We believe we can get the job done. But if Congress wants to come forward with one, we’ll take a look at it.”
For that matter, in June 2015, Hillary’s bud, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said that a Hillary victory in 2016 could pave the way for a carbon tax: “There’s one sort of [value-added tax] Democrats might be for — and that’s a carbon tax. So you might get a compromise along those lines.”

6) Other Taxes

  • $275 billion business tax increase through undefined business tax reform, as described in a Clinton campaign document.
  • $400 billion “Fairness” tax increase: According to her published plan, Hillary calls for a tax increase of “between $400 and $500 billion” by “restoring basic fairness to our tax code.” These proposals include a “fair share surcharge,” the taxing of carried interest capital gains as ordinary income, and a hike in the Death Tax.
  • Capital Gains Tax Increase: Hillary has proposed an increase in the capital gains tax to counter the “tyranny of today’s earnings report.” Her plan calls for a byzantine capital gains tax regime with six rates. Her campaign has not put a dollar amount on this tax increase.
  • Tax on Stock Trading: Hillary has also proposed a new tax on stock trading, which will be borne by millions of American families who have 401(k)s, IRAs and other savings accounts. Again, no dollar figure for this tax hike has been released by the Clinton campaign.
  • Exit Tax: Hillary has proposed what she calls an “exit tax” on income earned overseas, which would raise $80 billion in tax revenue.

Hillary’s running-mate, Tim Kaine, is also dedicated to tax hikes. See:

Sunday Devotional: How to evaluate someone who claims to be Christian

Colossians 3:1-5, 9-11

Brothers and sisters:
If you were raised with Christ, seek what is above,
where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
Think of what is above, not of what is on earth.
For you have died,
and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ your life appears,
then you too will appear with him in glory.

Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly:
immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire,
and the greed that is idolatry.
Stop lying to one another,
since you have taken off the old self with its practices
and have put on the new self,
which is being renewed, for knowledge,
in the image of its creator.
Here there is not Greek and Jew,
circumcision and uncircumcision,
barbarian, Scythian, slave, free;
but Christ is all and in all.

TOPSHOTS-BRAZIL-LIGHTNING-CHRIST THE REDEEMER
We are in the midst of another presidential election season.
And since Christians still constitute a majority, though shrinking, of the U.S. population, the two major parties’ nominees and VP running-mates all claim to be Christians.
But surely, we are not gullible little children who believe someone just because he or she claims to be one? As an example, the Democratic Party’s presidential and vice-presidential nominees both claim to be Christians, and yet both support the absolute “right” of women to kill their unborn. Some followers of Christ they are! More absurd still is Tim Kaine, the Democratic Party’s VP candidate, who says he’s a Catholic when the Catholic Church’s unchanging and unwavering principle is that abortion is an intrinsic evil, for which there can be no excuse, rationalization or justification.
But in the above passage from his letter to the Colossians, St. Paul had given us a simple yardstick to ascertain the truth or falsity of someone — including ourselves — who claims to be a follower of Christ:

“Put to death, then, the parts of you that are earthly: immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and the greed that is idolatry. Stop lying to one another….”

Five of St. Paul’s criteria — immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, greed — are internal attributes that may be opaque for outsiders to see. But the sixth criterion — lying — is an external behavior that is observable and verifiable.
It is also a violation of one of the Ten Commandments — the 9th.
But it’s not just the 9th Commandment, for lying is at the basis of every one of the Ten Commandments. Think about it . . . .
I suggest that we ask ourselves when we are in the voting booth this November 8:

“Which candidate(s) lies, constantly, for which we have incontrovertible evidence?”

No matter your party affiliation, no matter your self-interested reasons for supporting a candidate, imagining that she/he would give you what you want, do you really think a Christian would lie, constantly?
And if she lies about everything, can you believe the promises she’s making in her quest to be president? Seriously, are you really that deluded or stupid?

John 8:43-44

Why do you not understand what I say?
Because you cannot bear to listen to my words.
You are from your father, the devil,
and you prefer to do what your father wants.
He was a murderer from the start;
he was never grounded in the truth;
there is no truth in him at all.
When he lies he is speaking true to his nature,
because he is a liar,
and the father of lies.

Jesus says the Greatest Commandment of all is to love God with our whole heart, our whole soul, our whole mind, and with all our strength.
So if you love God with your whole heart, your whole soul, your whole mind, and with all your strength, how can you lie to others and to yourself, not just once, not just an occasional lapse from grace, but repeatedly, constantly, relentlessly?

Mitch McConnell fast-tracks authorization to give Obama unlimited war powers

Yesterday, during a visit to ISIS-friendly Turkey, VPOS Joe Biden said that if a political solution can’t be reached, the U.S. is prepared to use military force to “take out” ISIS or Islamic State (IS) and so end the civil war in Syria. The Obama administration has been carrying out “precision air strikes” on Islamic State (IS), but to no avail. (Source: Bloomberg)
Biden could make that promise because warmongers in Congress are paving the way to give Obama (and future presidents) unlimited war powers with no expiration date.
In 1973, to prevent “future Vietnams,” Congress passed the War Powers Act over the veto of then-Pres. Richard Nixon, to restrain the president’s ability to commit U.S. forces overseas by requiring the executive branch to first consult with and report to Congress. Although the Act was generally resisted or ignored by subsequent presidents, who regarded it as an unconstitutional usurpation of their executive authority, the Act nevertheless acted as a constraint.
In 2014, Obama did exactly that by declaring war against the Islamic State — a move considered by many legal scholars and even many members of Congress as illegal and unconstitutional. As Mike Krieger recounts for Liberty Blitzkrieg

President Obama’s declaration of war against the terrorist group known as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria marks a decisive break in the American constitutional tradition. Nothing attempted by his predecessor, George W. Bush, remotely compares in imperial hubris.

Mr. Bush gained explicit congressional consent for his invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. In contrast, the Obama administration has not even published a legal opinion attempting to justify the president’s assertion of unilateral war-making authority. This is because no serious opinion can be written.

This became clear when White House officials briefed reporters before Mr. Obama’s speech to the nation on Wednesday evening. They said a war against ISIS was justified by Congress’s authorization of force against Al Qaeda after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, and that no new approval was needed.
But the 2001 authorization for the use of military force does not apply here. That resolution — scaled back from what Mr. Bush initially wanted — extended only to nations and organizations that “planned, authorized, committed or aided” the 9/11 attacks.
Not only was ISIS created long after 2001, but Al Qaeda publicly disavowed it earlier this year. It is Al Qaeda’s competitor, not its affiliate….
[Obama’s] refusal even to ask the Justice Department to provide a formal legal pretext for the war on ISIS is astonishing.

Now, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) is fast-tracking an authorization that would give Obama unlimited war-making powers.
Mitch McConnell & Lindsey Graham
Sarah Mimms and Alex Rogers report for NationalJournal that late Wednesday (Jan. 20) night, McConnell surprised many members of Congress by fast-tracking a broad authorization for the use of military force (AUMF) authored by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC).

“Fast-tracking” refers to “Rule XIV” — setting up authorization for a future vote without putting the proposed AUMF on the Senate calendar, which means a vote can come at any time, or not at all.
McConnell and Graham’s AUMF would give the president unlimited war powers, placing no restrictions on the deployment of ground troops, or on time or geography. Even Obama’s claim of legal authority to wage war against ISIS does not allow for “enduring offensive ground combat operations,” nor is it unlimited in time, but would have expired three years after reenactment, unless reauthorized.
McConnell’s spokesman, Don Stewart, admitted in an email on Thursday that the new AUMF will not “tie the president’s hands”.
McConnell’s move is an about-face, contradicting what he himself had told reporters last month: “It’s clear the president does not have a strategy in place, so it would be hard to figure out how to authorize a non-strategy.”
McConnell’s resolution already has four Republican cosponsors: Sens. Lindsey Graham, Daniel Coats, Joni Ernst, and Orrin Hatch.
Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Bob Corker (R-TN), while saying that there is still a “wide diversity” of opinions on the issue, nevertheless argues with the Obama administration that no new AUMF is even needed. He said of McConnell’s new resolution, “I don’t think it changes anything [because] I’m in the same place that I’ve been—and that is I believe the administration has the authority to do what they’re doing.”
A Democrat warmonger, Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, who has aggressively advocated for an AUMF, was thrilled Thursday that the Senate could soon take up McConnell’s resolution. He argued that Obama’s war against Islamic State is illegal, “I don’t think there’s a legal justification for it. And I think the greatest danger we end up doing is allowing the president to wage a war without Congress weighing in.”
McConnell’s proposed authorization for the use of military force will not “tie the president’s hands”.
I cannot begin to emphasize how dangerous this new AUMF is, and what a threat to liberty McConnell et al. are.

Hank for President, 2012

Are you sick of voting for the lesser of two evils: Democrat Tweedledee versus Republican Tweedledum?
Here’s a candidate worthy of your vote.
His campaign describes him as “a proud Independent” with “real world experience, a unique point of view, and limitless energy.”
And unlike politicians of whatever stripe, he’s actually useful.
He catches mice.

Meet Hank, a 9-year-old (52 in human years!) street cat, who has entered the hotly contested U.S. Senate race in Virginia, against former Virginia governors George Allen (R) and Tim Kaine (D).

Hank is a master of viral marketing and already has a Web site, a Facebook page, and a Twitter handle.
[Sources: Washington Post; National Enquirer]
Hank really shouldn’t limit himself to the Senate. Why not go for the big cat house?

Hank for President, 2012!

At least Hank’s upkeep and vacations will be a heck of lot cheaper than Barry’s and Moochelle’s.
