Rose McGowan claims the Hollyweird #MeToo movement is BS, only done to make themselves feel better

Left eat left.

From Daily Mail: The actress who kick-started the exposure of Hollywood moguls who allegedly exploited positions of power to abuse women has branded #MeToo campaigners against sex attackers ‘losers’.

Rose McGowan accused producer Harvey Weinstein of rape this time last year, sparking an avalanche of allegations in the entertainment industry and beyond.

As stars such as Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman were alleged to have assaulted or harassed performers, activists began using the hashtag to share their ordeals online.

But McGowan has slammed the movement as ‘bull****’ in today’s Sunday Times Magazine, which comes the day after Judge Brett Kavanaugh was sworn in as a Supreme Court justice in the face of historic sexual assault allegations he denies.

After year of stars such as Salma Hayek and Gwyneth Paltrow claiming to be victims of harassment, McGowan has said she understands why Donald Trump supporters hate Hollywood, whose apparent liberalism she says is fake.

On the subject of #MeToo, she said: ‘I just think they’re douchebags. They’re not champions. I just think they’re losers. I don’t like them.  How do I explain the fact that I got a GQ Man of the Year award and no women’s magazines and no women’s organisations have supported me?

‘It’s all bullshit. It’s a lie. It’s a Band-Aid lie to make them feel better. I know these people, I know they’re lily-livered, and as long as it looks good on the surface, to them, that’s enough.’

More from the story:

McGowan has also hit out at Meryl Streep, saying that it is ‘literally impossible’ the actress knew nothing of Weinstein’s sexual proclivities until last autumn. Streep has denied knowing about the producer’s alleged ehavior.

Though she says ‘women have a tight to be angry’, McGowan says #MeToo activists have ‘sold themselves a fiction’ rather than face up to the true nature of Hollywood.

The article continues:

In Brave, McGowan argues that feminism hasn’t reached Hollywood, where 96 per cent of directors are male. She says the industry’s male gaze has little interest in women beyond them being ‘f***able’.

She told the magazine that even watching the movies in question implicates the viewer in the mistreatment.

This is far from the first time McGowan has spoken out on the matter, with the actress being very vocal in her refusal to align herself with either the #MeToo or Time’s Up movements.

Back in January, she hit out at the A-listers who wore black to the Golden Globes to protest the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal by calling the idea nothing but ‘Hollywood fakery.

She tweeted: ‘And not one of those fancy people wearing black to honor our rapes would have lifted a finger had it not been so. I have no time for Hollywood fakery.

She later branded Time’s Up leadership of being ‘fakes’ after they partnered with CAA.

McGowan has claimed that agents at CAA are ‘guilty of human trafficking’ for sending actresses, including Gwyneth Paltrow, to meet Harvey Weinstein in his hotel room. ‘Guess where they meet?’ she tweeted. ‘Who do you think is behind this “great” pr?

‘Why, it’s the company of pimps that sent so many into a the Monster’s Lair themselves. CAA. #TIMESUP fakes.’

McGowan also took issue with the fact that none of the women who first came forward were even asked to attend the Golden Globes ceremony.

Asia Argento stated that she had not been invited, while fellow sexual abuse and harassment accusers Corey Feldman and Rosanna Arquette said they too were ignored by the group.

‘Y was I ignored 2Nite? Do U C the hypocrisy here? Hollywood taking a stand in unity, when I wasn’t invited?’ Feldman asked Argento on Twitter, who replied ‘Don’t worry, I wasn’t invited either.’

She later added: ‘Not only I wasn’t invited to the #GoldenGlobes: nobody asked my opinion about #TIMESUP or to sign the letter. I support @TIMESUPNOW even though I was excluded from it. Guess I am not POWERFUL or HOLLYWOOD enough. Proud to work behind the scenes.’

Arquette, who accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct, also tweeted ‘We weren’t invited. Annabella [Sciorra], Daryl [Hannah], Mira [Sorvino] … none of us were.’

They all knew about Matt Lauer: Friends/associates joked about "C*ck of the Rock's" sexcapades at 2008 roast

Matt Lauer
From Daily Mail: Former NBC executive Jeff Zucker who claimed to have never heard ‘a whisper’ of Matt Lauer’s sexual misconduct joked about his in-office antics at an explicit comedy roast in 2008 which was described at the time as ‘three hours of d*** jokes’.
Zucker, who worked with Lauer on Today between 1992 and 2000, was among several guest speakers at the event.
Earlier this week, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said he had to leave it because it was full of jokes about Lauer ‘pushing himself on people’ and ‘having sex with employees’.
While Zucker’s jokes were by no means the most graphic and none centered on harassment or assault, he won laughs from the room by discussing Lauer’s quirky sexual habits.  ‘I don’t want to say Matt is a germophobe, but he’s the only guy I know who uses Purell both before and after he masturbates,’ was one remark. In another crude inference, he told the room: ‘It’s good to see Matt up here and not under my desk.’
The jokes were part of the Friar’s Club Roast at the Hilton Midtown in New York City.
Martha Stewart, one of the other guest speakers, declared to applause: ‘I hear NBC executives call Matt the C**k of the Rock,’ a reference to the network’s Manhattan headquarters.
There is no footage of the event because cameras were banned except for one which snapped Tom Cruise, another guest speaker, at the start of the event.
Some but not all of the jokes were recorded by a Village Voice editor who took notes under his table. His contemporaneous report of the event resurfaced this week after Zucker’s claim that he had ‘never heard a whisper’ of Lauer’s newly-alleged impropriety.
‘Just got back from the Hilton in midtown after three hours of d*** and p***y  jokes from some of the biggest stars of TV and film,’ wrote The Voice’s Tony Ortega at the time.
The fact that the audience was comprised of 1,900 media and entertainment insiders makes current proclamations of shock at Lauer’s recent firing and alleged misconduct against junior staffers and assistants increasingly unsettling.
‘This was a comedic roast, but there was clearly a vein of truth running through all those jokes. You had Katie Couric, Meredith Vieira and Jeff Zucker all standing up there joking about his sex in the office, his kinkiness.’
‘They all knew,’ one media executive who was present told Fox News.  It is not known which other NBC executives attended. President Donald Trump, who relished Lauer’s firing last week and declared NBC and Comcast ‘fake news’, was also there.
Noah Oppenheim, president of NBC news, has insisted he was not aware of any complaints as has Andy Lack, NBC’s chairman who announced Lauer’s firing last week.
Current staffers say all were aware but formed a ‘boys’ club’ to protect Lauer and sweep complaints ‘under the carpet’.
NBC stars Meredith Vieira, Katie Couric, Martha Stewart and Bob Saget were among other speakers who took the jokes at the 2008 further. Vieira joked about both her and Couric having sex with Lauer.
‘Look at Katie Couric. She juggled Matt’s balls for six years.  ‘That’s three years per ball. She squeezed those suckers so tight, she left nothing for me. Thanks, Katie,’ she said.
