Chicago Police warn of man who exposed himself in Target women's restroom

Target's new transgender bathroom
Bound to happen when you allow “transgender” customers to freely use whichever bathroom suits them.
From Chicago Tribune: Chicago police issued a warning about a man who exposed himself in front of a child in a women’s restroom in a Target store in the South Loop neighborhood.
The incident happened around 4:05 p.m. March 25 in a Target store in the 1100 block of South Clark Street.
Police said a woman was watching her child in a restroom at Target when a man entered insisting that he needed to use the restroom. He pushed his way into a stall where the child was and exposed his genitals before fleeing the scene.
He was described as black with a dark complexion and between 30 to 40 years of age. He is between 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighs between 170 to 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red jacket, a dark colored hat, gray pants and sunglasses, police said.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact detectives at 312-747-8380.

TJ Maxx, Marshalls Latest Stores to Back Away from Ivanka Trump’s Brand

ivankaWell, this is distressing. Except for the fact that the majority of comments on this Yahoo article support Ivanka. Good news: This is typical with the anti-Trump stories I see on Yahoo.
I live in a small town in Oklahoma (with a population of less than 100,000 – much smaller than the suburb of Seattle I moved away from) and we have very few retailers in town. There’s a Target – which I will never visit. There’s a local mall that I visited only ONCE because the stores are terrible. My go-to store has been TJ Maxx. Alas, I may be visiting Goodwill and Ivanka Trump’s web site more and more…
From Yahoo: Backlash has boomed in the two weeks since President Trump took office, but his entrepreneur daughter is also feeling the burn, with numerous companies dropping — or facing pressure to pull — Ivanka Trump products.
The latest: TJ Maxx and Marshalls, along with the Home Shopping Network (HSN) and the search engine ShopStyle.
The parent company of TJ Maxx and Marshalls, TJX Companies, issued an internal memo to employees on Wednesday, telling them to toss Ivanka Trump display signs in the trash and mix her remaining merchandise in with other brands, rather than displaying her products on separate racks, according to The New York Times, who received a copy of the memo.
“Effective immediately, please remove all Ivanka Trump merchandise from features and mix into the runs [regular racks where most clothes are placed],” stated the note, which was confirmed by Doreen Thompson, a spokeswoman for the TJX Companies, according to The New York Times. “All Ivanka Trump signs should be discarded.”
In addition, #GrabYourWallet founder Sharon Coulter confirmed on Tuesday that Ivanka- and Donald-branded products were completely pulled from HSN and that ShopStyle was in the process of following suit, according to Mic.
Both HSN and ShopStyle had been previously placed on the infamous #GrabYourWallet boycott list — an anti-Trump movement that launched in October after the president’s 2005 “Grab her by the p****” comments were publicized. The movement keeps tabs on companies that sell Trump-branded products and encourages people to boycott them, hitting their bottom lines as a political statement. Coulter predicted that by Tuesday, ShopStyle would be removed from the boycott list.
TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HSN, and ShopStyle are the latest on the hot list to separate from the Ivanka Trump dynasty.

Texas mom asked to leave Target after trying to breastfeed baby

Earlier this year, Target said, We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the rest room or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.” Bet no transgender in Target will ever face the ordeal that this mother had to experience.

From KHOU: The mother of a three-month-old baby, who claims she wasn’t allowed to breastfeed inside a Target in Kyle on Friday, said she is no longer upset about the incident.
Jessica, who received backlash on social media after the incident, posted about her experience on Facebook. “It was definitely embarrassing,” Jessica said.
The 23-year-old said her ordeal began when she tried to use a fitting room to breastfeed her daughter; that’s when a female employee approached her. “She told me, that’s really not what they’re for but that there was a bathroom that I could use. She was the only employee back there and there were no customers back there other than me,” Jessica said.
After speaking with the employee, Jessica said she took her shopping cart, which carried a car seat, diaper bag and a few items she planned to purchase, to the bathroom.  The same employee followed her there. “She told me that wasn’t allowed, which I get,” said Jessica.
But Jessica didn’t get what happened next. “She told me I couldn’t leave my cart with the unattended items. So, I asked her where I could put it, and she told me that I should probably not bring a hungry baby out,” The 23-year-old mother said. “She asked if she wouldn’t take a bottle and I said, ‘no she’s breastfed. We’ve had a hard time with bottles.’ and she said, ‘Well maybe you should feed her in the car, maybe you should just leave.‘”
Dumbstruck, Jessica left the store and went to her car to nurse her baby. “The more I thought about it, the more outraged and more outrageous it seemed,” said Jessica.
In June, a mom nursing her baby inside a Connecticut Target was startled by a man upset at what she was doing. She recorded the entire incident as he got upset and demanded money back from the cafe, claiming the nursing mom disrespected him by feeding her baby.
KVUE showed Jessica the video, and she couldn’t believe it.  Jessica said when she breastfeeds in public she covers up, but she won’t go out of the way to do it: especially if it interferes with her daughter’s feeding. “But if she doesn’t want to put a cover on and pulls it off or whatever, I’m not going to fight my kid for her to eat,” said Jessica.
Like most states, it is legal to breastfeed in public in Texas.
As for Jessica, she isn’t upset anymore. She just wished that the employee and others who are uninformed, get informed.
Jessica said Target has since called her several times to apologize, telling her there will be a meeting to make sure all employees know breastfeeding is allowed at stores.
In regards to the incident, Target sent KVUE this statement that reads:
At Target, we want all of our guests to feel comfortable shopping with us. We are proud of our breastfeeding policy, which applies to all stores, and it’s just one of the ways in which we support our guests. Guests who choose to breastfeed in public areas of the store are welcome to do so without being made to feel uncomfortable. Additionally, we support the use of fitting rooms for women who wish to breastfeed their babies, even if others are waiting to use the fitting rooms. We have been in contact with this guest to discuss her experience. Additionally, we are continuing to have conversations with our team to remind them of the policy.

Today’s standard of journalism: WaPo asks, “Is your dog’s Halloween costume sexist?”

Read it and weep.
serious
From Washington Post: Young girls may be discarding their princess wands for superhero capes this Halloween, but not so in the canine world.
The glass ceiling appears to be firmly in place at PetSmart, where career costumes labeled “male” include firefighter and police officer, while female dogs can choose between a pink cowgirl costume and pink loofah.
dog-costume
On the site BaxterBoo.com, options for your female pooch include “sweet heart nurse” or French maid. “Any tidy girl dog will look adorable wearing this French Maid Dog Costume,” the site’s description reads. “Whether your pup is a clean freak or a messy mutt, she will enjoy playing ‘dress up’ in this fun costume.”
The choices for male dogs, meanwhile, include fireman, mob boss and doctor (suggested pairing: “match up with a girl friend with the Sweet Heart Nurse Dog Costume.”)
“It seems silly on the surface, but this is part of a larger message we’re sending, that there are certain jobs for men, and certain jobs for women,” said Scott Lawrie, 36, who co-hosts a podcast, ‘She will not be ignored,’ about gender issues. “The career options for women — and dogs — need to go beyond pink loofahs and pink cowgirls.”

Scott Lawrie

Scott Lawrie

Lawrie, who plans to dress his two dogs as the cop duo Cagney and Lacey, says he did a double-take when he saw PetSmart’s police officer costumes marked for “males.” He clicked around and noticed a pattern: Career-related costumes were often explicitly marked “male” and “female.” (A number of other costumes, however, ranging from lobsters to pumpkins and dinosaurs, bear the “male/female” label.)
“I thought surely there was some reason behind this: maybe the pets needed to relieve themselves a certain way, or something like that,” said Lawrie, who lives in San Francisco. “But all of the costumes are identical.”
Representatives for PetSmart and Baxter Boo did not respond to requests for comment.

National retailers have begun taking steps to eliminate gender labels from their products. Target last year announced it would stop separating girls’ and boys’ toys in its stores. Wal-Mart, Toys R Us and Amazon.com have taken similar measures.
“We never want guests or their families to feel frustrated or limited by the way things are presented,” Target said in a 2015 news release. “Over the past year, guests have raised important questions about a handful of signs in our stores that offer product suggestions based on gender. In some cases, like apparel, where there are fit and sizing differences, it makes sense. In others, it may not.”
Last year, the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs found that items marketed to girls and women are routinely marked up an average 7 percent compared to items for boys and men. The discrepancies included a 48 percent markup for hair products, such as shampoo and conditioner.
“It’s a double whammy,” DCA Commissioner Julie Menin told The Washington Post, “and it’s not just happening in New York. You see in the aisles the issue is clearly applicable to consumers across the country.”
It turns out those mark ups aren’t limited to humans, either. At Party City, Supergirl and Wonder Woman doggie costumes were priced 30 percent higher than Superman costumes ($16.99 versus $12.99). Batgirl costumes, meanwhile, were selling for $19.99, a 33 percent premium on Batman’s $14.99 price tag.
Pet costumes have been gaining popularity in recent years, with 16 percent of Americans saying they’ll dress up their dogs, cats and bunnies for Halloween this year, according to the National Retail Federation. The most popular costumes for pets were gender-neutral pumpkins, hot dogs and bumblebees.
As for Lawrie, he has yet to buy costumes for Harry and Brody. The dogs already have wigs, but Lawrie says he’s waiting for PetSmart to remove its labeling before he makes his purchase. “Even if it’s just on principle, this is important,” he said. “I’m waiting until they fix it.”

Target is adding single-stall restrooms at all stores

Target's new transgender bathroom
From MSN: Big-box retailer Target will add single-stall restrooms at all of its stores where that option is not currently offered, reflecting a direct response to the debate that erupted earlier this year over its new transgender-bathroom policy.

Chief Financial Officer Cathy Smith

Chief Financial Officer Cathy Smith

Target Chief Financial Officer Cathy Smith told reporters Wednesday that the company would invest $20 million to add single-stall restrooms. The company already had single-stall restrooms that anyone can use at about 1,400 of its 1,800 stores, Target spokesperson Katie Boylan said.
Target is not altering its transgender restroom policy, which allows people to “use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.” That policy, announced this spring, drew opposition from some conservative activists who vowed to boycott the chain.
Boylan acknowledged that Target has received feedback from customers who are “very, very supportive” and “some who are not.”
“The impact to the business is not material at this time,” she said.
But Boylan said Target decided to add single-stall, lockable restrooms in all of its stores “because we’re listening.” “We get it. Some like it, some don’t. We’re committed” to offering a welcoming environment for everyone, she said.
I’m sure the Peeping Toms will feel very welcome at Target.

Target Says No to Guns: Store Assaults Begin Immediately

On July 2 of this year, Target issued a new policy asking customers not to bring guns to its stores. That same day, a Target shopper in Gainesville, Georgia was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot, and on July 5, a woman shopper at a Target store in Atlanta was punched in the head in the store’s parking lot by a black male, who then stole her car and attempted to run her over.
Lest, you think Target is merely another well-meaning, but misguided company, take a look at these ads from one of their recent catalogues, targeted at children:

For those who don’t understand the symbolism, the “OK” sign with three fingers spread out spells “6-6-6”, and covering one eye is a symbol of Lucifer just like the eye on the pyramid on our one dollar bills. I believe it was Franklin Roosevelt, the second worst president of all time, who put all-seeing eye of satan on our money.
Compare Target’s children with these photos featuring several well known satanists, and remember that another big company that is anti-gun and anti-Constitution, Starbucks, also has a history of satanic symbolism.

Hero Dog Survived Afghan War But Not US Government

“Target” was a homeless dog who eeked out a living on the war-ravaged streets of Afghanistan. The female German Shepherd mix and two other mutts, Rufus and Sasha, befriended the soldiers on a U.S. military base who began to feed the strays. The soldiers named the German Shepherd “Target” because she was plucky and cheated death so often, surviving IED explosions and the Taliban.

As the Daily Mail recounts, one night in February a Taliban suicide bomber came to the base in the middle of the night, wearing 25 pounds of explosives and intent on killing Americans. The three dogs barked at and bit the bomber, waking the 50 sleeping soldiers in the process. Frightened by the dogs, the terrorist blew himself up instead of the soldiers. Only five soldiers were injured in the bombing and all recovered. Sasha was killed; Target and Rufus were injured and were treated by medics like wounded soldiers. From then on, the dogs were treated like royalty at the US base at Dand Patan, near the Pakistan border.
When Sgt Terry Young returned home from his tour of duty to the San Tan Valley area near Phoenix this August, with the help of aid groups he brought Target with him. Rufus went to live with another soldier in Georgia. Target became famous when she was featured on ‘Oprah’ in September in a show about amazing animals.

Target with Sgt Young and Oprah

On Friday of last week Target escaped from the family’s backyard. Sgt Young put out notices and contacted TV stations that did reports on the missing dog, with the information that she wore a special pink camouflage collar. A neighbour found her wandering later that day and put her in his backyard and called the Pinal County shelter.
But Target did not have a microchip or tag.
On Friday night, Sgt Young found Target’s picture on a website used by Pinal County’s dog catchers to help owners track lost pets. But the shelter in Casa Grande closes for the night and the weekend, with its hours listed on the website as M-F 8-5pm.
On Monday, Sgt. Young showed up at the shelter to claim Target, only to find his dog dead. A shelter employee had “mistakenly” taken Target out of her pen Monday morning and euthanized her.
Ruth Stalter, director of the Animal Care and Control Center admitted that “When it comes to euthanizing an animal, there are some clear-cut procedures to follow. Based on my preliminary investigation, our employee did not follow those procedures.”
A teary Sgt Young told a local TV station: “‘I just can’t believe that something like this would happen to such a good dog. My four year-old son just can’t understand what is going on with Target and keeps asking me to get the poison out of her and bring her home. They don’t want her to go be with God yet.”

Writing in the American Thinker on November 18, 2010, Jeannie DeAngelis sums up the moral of Target’s sad story:

You know the old adage – “Don’t get sick on the weekend…there’s nobody on staff,” especially if the hospital workers are on the government payroll.
Pinal County’s Animal Care and Control is a Division of the Health and Human Services Department, a county agency that “protects the health and welfare of Pinal County citizens.” In other words, the animal shelter is government-run on the county level. Based on ordinances, the division enforces regulations and provisions, “humanely” cares for animals, and provides “proactive and ongoing public education and information to the residents.” Above all, the organization prides itself on always adhering to “professional standards in all aspects of public relations and animal management.”
Target the Heroine Dog’s Post-mortem message to America: Once Obamacare kicks in, be wary of smiling bureaucrats touting professional standards in all aspects of health care management, because the government fix may include an inept health care worker sending any one of us on a premature one-way trip, even though it isn’t our time “to go be with God yet.”
