Priorities: First order of business for Democrat House majority is abortion

“Every nation has the government it deserves.” – Count Joseph-Marie de Maistre (1763-1821)

Today is the first day of the 116th United States Congress.

Last November, American voters saw fit to elect a majority of Democrats to the House of Representatives.

As a demonstration of the House majority Democrats’ priority, their first order of business is the killing of tiny, innocent, unborn human beings.

The faces of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — who portrays her beginnings as humble, from Bronx, when she actually grew up in upper middle-class Westchester County — and the other freshman Congresswomen remind me of this scene from The Devil’s Advocate (1997):

House Democrats have inserted language to expand abortion access into a bill to end the partial government shutdown. The bill is set for a vote tomorrow; the federal government has faced a partial government shutdown for 12 days. (H/t Washington Examiner)

The abortion language inserted into the spending bill is meant to:

  1. Undo what President Trump did on January 23, 2017, his first full day of work as President. That day, which was a day after the 44th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, President Trump signed his first executive order reinstating the Mexico City Policy that bans U.S. taxpayers’ funding of at least half a billion dollars to international non-government organizations (NGOs) that perform abortions or provide information about abortion. House Democrats’ spending bill  includes language specifying that NGOs that perform abortions consistent with the laws in their country are eligible for U.S. family planning funds.
  2. Increase funding for the forced abortion-sterilization promoting United Nations Population Fund from $5 million to $37.5 million. The Trump administration’s State Department ended contributions to the fund because anti-abortion groups oppose its relationship with China, where citizens are not permitted to have more than two children, leading to forced abortions, sterilizations, and female infanticide.

Update (Jan. 8): House Democrats passed a first bill to restore $100 million in funding for Planned Parenthood. (LifeNews)

Such are the priorities of Demorats: Tens of millions of taxpayer dollars to fund abortions in the world and for Planned Parenthood in the U.S., but not for a US-Mexico border wall, never mind that Israel — the largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid — has an impregnable sea-land border wall.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, said in a statement Democrats were “already trying to foist a radical pro-abortion agenda on the nation”. Since “a strong majority of Americans oppose taxpayer funding of abortion,” House Democrats’ repeal of Trump’s policy on nongovernmental organizations would make “taxpayers complicit in the exportation of abortion and destruction of countless unborn children around the world. This is unconscionable and we oppose the bill in the strongest terms.”

Refusing to meet Trump’s demands for $5 billion to fund a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico, House Democrats plan to vote on two separate bills tomorrow to fund the federal government. Thankfully, the bills face dim prospects in the GOP-controlled Senate.

Meanwhile, you should know that abortion was the leading cause of death in the world in 2018.

There were approximately 41.95 million abortions carried out around the world in 2018, according to Worldometers, an organization that tracks death statistics. Overall, the deaths by abortion outnumbered those from cancer (8.2 million), malaria, HIV/AIDS (1.7 million), smoking, alcohol, and traffic accidents put together.

Kansas Episcopal Church celebrates 42 years of abortion with fundraiser for Planned Parenthood

St. James Episcopal Church
Michael F. Haverluck reports for One News Now that on Jan. 22, 2015, to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that opened the floodgates to the killing of the unborn in America, St. James Episcopal Church in Wichita, Kansas, is hosting a “Chili for Choice” event to bring more money to Planned Parenthood of Kansas & Mid-Missouri.
In other words, a supposedly Christian church is hosting a fund-raiser to abort kill unborn human beings.
St. James Episcopal is encouraging its congregation to not only buy tickets or sponsorships, but to invite friends and family to endorse abortion-on-demand. Ticket prices range from an “income-sensitive” $20 all the way up to $1,000.
Not that Planned Parenthood (PP) actually needs the Episcopal church’s fundraiser because:
1. U.S. taxpayers — including taxpayers in Wichita, Kansas — already “subsidize” PP to the tune of $528 million in fiscal year 2013-2014 — more than $1.4 million a day — or 41% of PP’s revenue. In fact, PP has raked in over $3 billion in taxpayer funds during President Barack “Lucifer” Obama’s 6 years in office — an increase of 43% since Obama took office in 2009. Not coincidentally, abortions have increased 8% during his presidency. That would account for why PP has hailed Obama as its “champion”; that is also why Dr. James Dobson called Obama the “abortion president.”
2. Planned Parenthood really doesn’t need St. James Episcopal Church’s chili fundraiser because PP is extremely profitable. An analysis by the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List discovered that the abortion mill reported more than $127 million in excess revenue, and more than $1.4 billion in net assets.
Back to St. James Episcopal Church.
Although Susan B. Anthony List found that abortions made up 94% of Planned Parenthood’s “services” in 2013, a representative of St. James answering the phones told a pro-life advocate that PP doesn’t do abortions.
Wichita’s St. James is not the only U.S. Episcopal church in league with the Devil.
LifeNews reported last September that in Louisiana, an Episcopal priest circulated a letter calling Christians to support the construction of a new Planned Parenthood abortion facility in New Orleans – the abortion epicenter of Louisiana.
Here’s something you can do about taxpayers being forced to subsidize Planned Parenthood’s baby killing —

Tell your Congressional representatives to support the Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act.

Life News reports that more than 80 House members of the new 114th Congress have re-introduced a bill to defund Planned Parenthood. Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act would ensure that Title X family planning grants are used for their intended purpose and are prohibited from being used by organizations that provide abortions or fund those that do.
Representative Diane Black, a pro-life congresswoman from Tennessee, is the lead sponsor of the bill along with Reps. Bill Flores (R-TX), Jackie Walorski (R-IN), Pro-Life Caucus Co-Chairman Chris Smith (R-NJ), and Rep. Joe Pitts (R-PA).

Failed Democrat Pol Sues Critics Over Election Loss

October 24, 2011 RSS Feed Print

There’s nothing quite like a politician scorned.
When voters in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District threw Democrat Steve Driehaus out of office after only one term, he did not bow out gracefully.  No, he decided to get even. So he did what anyone does in today’s culture: he sued somebody.
Charging that its activities contributed to his defeat and thus to his “loss of livelihood,” Driehaus is suing the Susan B. Anthony List, a group that supports pro-life candidates for Congress and which has been one of the leading and most effective organizations involved in the fight to cut off federal funding to Planned Parenthood.
During the 2010 elections the Susan B. Anthony List engaged in a campaign to identify and call out a group of allegedly anti-abortion-rights members of Congress who provided the margin that allowed President Barack Obama’s reform of the nation’s healthcare system to get through the U.S. House of Representatives. The Susan B. Anthony List said their vote in favor of the law, which did not include any pro-life protections, amounted to a betrayal of their pro-life principles.
According to Driehaus, who was one of that group, what the Susan B. Anthony List said in its public communications amounted to a malicious lie that contributed to his defeat. Amazingly, rather than laugh the suit out of court U.S. District Court judge Timothy S. Black, an Obama appointee, is allowing it to go forward.
Now there are lots of things said by outside interest groups during the heat of political campaigns that turn out to be untrue. What the Susan B. Anthony List said about the so-called pro-life Democrats who gave Obama the votes he needed to pass healthcare just doesn’t happen to be one of them. The accompanying executive order the president signed regarding abortion was designed to provide political cover to a group of House Democrats whom he needed to win. It was no substitute for the so-called “Stupak Amendment” that would have written pro life protections into the healthcare bill but was defeated on the House floor.
Driehaus’s suit is breaking new legal ground and may already be having a very chilling effect on political speech. It goes directly at the heart of our First Amendment protections and criminalizes what is at least a difference of opinion. And it’s curious that the case has not received more attention from the naional press.
What is equally curious, however, is why Judge Black has allowed the case to move forward and why he did not recuse himself from it since, as Barbara Hollingsworth reported Friday in The Washington Examiner, he apparently is the former president and director of the Planned Parenthood Association of Cincinnati.  As seeming conflicts of interest go this one is a real humdinger.
Is it fair to question Black’s ability to be impartial if he used to head up the local affiliate of a national organization one of the parties in the case is trying to defund? Absolutely—and it’s something everyone should see clearly, as they would if the former head of a local gun owners group was given the responsibility for hearing a case testing the constitutionality of a concealed carry law. Never mind the considerable constitutional issues involved; Judge Black needs to step aside and let a different jurist take over the case. And someone, maybe the House Judiciary Committee, needs to take a look at how he was assigned the case in the first place because, right now, the whole thing smells like day-old fish left out in the hot sun.
