High school football player’s National Anthem goes viral: “I’m proud of my country”

I predict a promising career for this young man.

From Fox News: A Maryland high school football player’s unique version of the national anthem is going viral.

Jackson Dean wowed the crowd last weekend by singing his country rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” while playing the guitar.

The defensive end played a stripped-down version of the anthem before his teammates burst through a banner at the end of the tune.

Dean plays for Arundel High School and said Saturday on Fox & Friends that the amount of attention he’s getting is “very awesome.”

Videos of the senior’s performance are racking up hundreds of thousands of views on Facebook and YouTube.

“I’m an American, and I’m proud of my country,” he said on Saturday.

Dean added that once he graduates from high school, he’ll be hitting the road and performing. “We’ve got some things in the pocket that have been working that I can’t really talk about,” he said.

California NAACP wants 'Star-Spangled Banner' removed as America's national anthem

Some blacks hate this country so much that it’s not enough that Confederate and patriotic monuments are taken down, and NFL players show their disrespect by taking-a-knee, the California chapter of NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) actually wants “The Star Spangled Banner” be removed as America’s national anthem.

Alexei Koseff reports for The (San Luis Obispo) Tribune, Nov. 7, 2017, that the California NAACP last week began circulating among California’s state legislators two resolutions that passed at its state conference in October:

  1. A resolution urging Congress to rescind “The Star-Spangled Banner” — “one of the most racist, pro-slavery, anti-black songs in the American lexicon” — as the national anthem.
  2. A second resolution calls on Congress to censure President Trump for suggesting NFL owners should fire any “son of a bitch” who doesn’t stand for the anthem, and to ask NFL teams find a spot for former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who some believe is blacklisted over having started the “take-a-knee” protest movement among professional athletes against alleged police brutality.

The objections to “The Star-Spangled Banner” are two:

  1. The song’s infrequently-sung third verse that blacks say celebrate the deaths of black American slaves who joined British troops during the War of 1812 to gain their freedom: “Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave from the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave”.
  2. Francis Scott Key, who wrote the lyrics of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” was a slave owner and fierce opponent of abolition who may have sparked the first race riot in Washington, D.C.

California NAACP President Alice Huffman, who drafted the NAACP’s resolutions, said: “We owe a lot of it to Kaepernick. I think all this controversy about the knee will go away once the song is removed.” She said Congress, which adopted “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the national anthem in 1931, should find a replacement that is not “another song that disenfranchises part of the American population.”
The California NAACP is looking for legislative sponsors for the resolutions. At least one lawmaker is already opposed. Assemblyman Travis Allen, a Huntington Beach Republican who is running for governor, said in a statement:

“Our flag and national anthem unite us as Americans. Protesting our flag and national anthem sows division and disrespects the diverse Americans who have proudly fought and died for our country. Real social change can only happen if we work together as Americans first.”

Here’s to you, NAACP!

Black minister at 2008 inauguration says all Whites are going to hell

At the POS’s presidential inauguration on January 20, 2009, United Methodist Church minister Rev. Joseph Lowery gave the benediction.

On July 30, 2009, Obama bestowed the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian award, on Lowery.

Called a “civil rights icon,” Lowery co-founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) with Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1957 and has been a national leader and the recipient of many honors since that time. Numerous celebrities had praised him at a celebration of his 90th birthday at Atlanta Symphony Hall last year.

Last Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, Lowry spoke at St. James Baptist Church in Forsyth, Georgia, as part of a SCLC tour across the state to encourage blacks to vote for Obama (see pic below).

Diane Glidewell reports for the Monroe County Reporter, Oct. 31, 2012, that Lowry said he liked giving the benediction at Obama’s inauguration because it gave him the last word. The only thing that followed him on the program was the “Star Spangled Banner.” Lowry then said it was the first time in his life he enjoyed the national anthem and that he finds the anthem too militaristic. He said he would like to see the national anthem changed to “America the Beautiful or to “Lift Every Voice,” which is known as the Negro National Anthem.

Lowery complained that in 2008, 390,000 black folks in Georgia did not vote, and so Obama lost Georgia by 200,000 votes. He said: “I don’t know what kind of a n—– wouldn’t vote with a black man running. All that he [Obama] did with the stimulus was genius. Nobody intelligent would risk this country with Romney.”

Then Lowery said that “when he was a young militant, he used to say all white folks were going to hell.” Later he mellowed and just said most of them were. Now, he says “he is back to where he was” — meaning he’s back to saying all white folks are going to hell.

You never heard of this on the alphabet TV networks?

Imagine the media uproar if a white minister — or ANY white person — had said “all black folks are going to hell”….

Joseph Lowry then said “I’m frightened by the level of hatred and bitterness coming out in this election.”

Hey, you pretentious poor excuse of a Christian minister and rank RACIST. You want to see who’s spewing “hatred and bitterness”?

Look in your mirror.

Whatever hatred, bitterness, viciousness, and murderous venom are coming only from you and other Democrats. You may be able to bamboozle the complicit Establishment Media, but we on FOTM keep a good record of what your ilk have been saying and doing:

I can go on, but I think you get the idea….

Obama Disrespects the British National Anthem

A national anthem is a generally patriotic musical composition that evokes and eulogizes the history, traditions and struggles of its people, recognized either by a nation’s government as the official national song, or by convention through use by the people. As such, the national anthem is a symbol for the country.
“The Star Spangled Banner” is the national anthem of the United States. When our national anthem is played, to show our respect, we stop talking, stand up, remove our hat/cap, and place our right hand over our heart. As Wikipedia observes:

“Certain etiquette may be involved in the playing of a country’s anthem. These usually involve military honours, standing up, removing headwear etc. In diplomatic situations the rules may be very formal.”

God Save the Queen” is the de facto national anthem of the United Kingdom and some of its territories.
Last night, at the state banquet for the visiting Obamas, Obama raised a toast to Queen Elizabeth II. Before he finished his toast, the band began playing “God Save the Queen.” Protocol is that everyone stands in silence for “God Save the Queen.” But Obama broke protocol by continuing his toast.
The Queen observed protocol by remaining silent and waited until the band finished before she thanked Obama.

The person who uploaded this video onto Youtube bristled that this strict observance of protocol is slavish and that the Queen’s silence was “An insult to all Americans.”
What do you think?

The Fourth Verse

A moving scene at a TEA Party….
A former Marine reminds us of the importance of the 4th verse of the “Star Spangled Banner”:

Oh! Thus be it ever, when free men shall stand

Between their loved home and the war’s desolation.

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land.

Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.

Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,

And this be our motto: “In God is our trust”.

And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

H/t beloved fellow FS.
