Can Chiraq Mayor Lightfoot explain this double standard?

Don’t hold your breath. This is the same womyn who violated her own social distancing rules to get HER hair cut because “she’s in the public eye.”

Please explain why this is OK?

Yet churches still face restrictions?

Good luck getting any one to comply with any future “stay-at-home” orders. The politicians and medical “experts” have erased ALL credibility (what they had left) by endorsing their preferred-politically-motivated protests during a pandemic.

It was all for nothing: No evidence COVID-19 lockdown actually works

Below are excerpts from Sherelle Jacobs, “The lack of evidence lockdowns actually worked is a world scandal,” The Telegraph, May 28, 2020. I supplied the bold and color emphasis:

We have detonated the global economy to pursue a lockdown experiment that may not have worked, according to the latest evidence. This diabolical revelation should be a world scandal….

The broadcast media is more interested in scalping lockdown flouters than questioning whether shutdowns have served any useful purpose. World-class studies that suggest lockdown did not alter the pandemic’s course are mysteriously vanishing into internet obscurity on first contact with the official narrative. Our greatest minds have resorted to unpicking the issue on offbeat YouTube webinars. No global NGO or lockdown country has launched an investigation into their impact.

This is a scandal so overwhelming that there is only one good place to start: the evidence as it stands…. [I]n Britain, infections may have peaked a week before lockdown, according to Prof Carl Heneghan of Oxford University, with daily deaths in hospitals plateauing a fortnight after it was introduced. We are not an anomaly: peak dates across Europe also seem to confound the official theory.

Don’t just take my word for it. A University of the East Anglia study posits that Europe’s “stay-at-home policies” were not effective. A JP Morgan investigation suggests the virus “likely has its own dynamics” which are “unrelated to often inconsistent lockdown measures”. But such insights have failed to induce even the vaguest quiver of serious mainstream debate.

Nobel prize-winning bio-physicist Michael Levitt has fared little better, despite his valiant one-man effort to expose the inconvenient truth about Covid numbers. He has claimed, sensationally, that the modelling that justified lockdown made the fatally incorrect assumption that Covid-19’s spread is continuously exponential. In fact, his research has found an uncanny pattern across numerous countries whereby the virus grows exponentially for two weeks, before slowing seemingly irrespective of lockdown and social distancing measures.

In a more sensible world, such findings might stir thoughtful debate about whether Covid was burning out naturally before lockdowns began. It might also prompt a global effort to put other pieces of the puzzle together – for example, establishing whether there is a correlation between countries with high death rates and countries that failed to protect care homes. (They make up half of fatalities in Belgium, which has suffered the worst Covid death toll per capita).

But as the holes in Project Lockdown multiply, its advocates flap incoherently to keep their theory afloat…where the goal of lockdown lurches from “flattening the curve” to staving off a “second wave” – to, apparently, averting the first wave’s “second peak”….

See also doctor says COVID-19 virus “clinically no longer exists” in Italy, but the government still urges residents to continue practicing social distancing and other safety measures.

Just like that, social distancing is over

Back in March our country and economy was shut down due to China’s Wuhan virus. We were told to stay at home – unless you were deemed essential – and practice social distancing in order to save lives.

Because of this, unemployment rose dramatically as did crime and suicides. Millions of people isolated and unemployed. And stressed.

Then the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis occurred. Stay at home orders were completely ignored throughout the country as people took to the streets to protest and riot.

Just like that, social distancing was done. After everything that was sacrificed by students, families and business owners to try to limit the spread of the Wuhan virus, social distancing is over.

Makes you wonder if the reaction to the Wuhan virus was really worth all of our efforts and economic sacrifices.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot Warns Stay-At-Home Violators: ‘We Will Take You To Jail, Period!’

From the mayor who violated her own social distancing rules in order to get HER hair cut. After all, SHE’S in the public eye so she be special.

She states that if you violate the “law,” you will be taken to jail. PERIOD.

I’m curious as to which LAW the good mayor will cite if you violate a stay at home ORDER.

Meanwhile in Chiraq: “4 dead, 30 hurt in Chicago weekend shootings so far

And this: “Illinois releases 146 sex offenders, including 3 sexually dangerous persons

Seems the REAL criminals in Chiraq and Illinois are the ones getting a free pass.

Welcome to the new America under the Wuhan virus tyranny.

WTH? US using Chinese drones to spy on and lecture Americans about Wuhan virus

Yesterday national GOP spokesperson, Elizabeth Harrington, shared a report from MSNBC in which US agencies are acquiring drones and using them to enforce social distancing rules. As if it isn’t bad enough to have Big Brother watching your every move, the report states the drones are coming from China.

Even worse? The NY Times reports that the drones may be sending the data to China. I question the “may be” part. If China is involved, YOU KNOW they are collecting data.

From her tweets:

“The drones, donated by DJI, a Chinese company, have gone to 43 agencies in 22 states, all to help enforce social distancing rules. US using Chinese drones to spy on and lecture Americans about a virus caused by communist China. Oh, and DJI “may be sending data to China.”

Drone Maker D.J.I. May Be Sending Data to China, U.S. Officials Say. We think DJI is “providing US critical infrastructure and law enforcement data to the Chinese government. And now local law enforcement is using them in response to the Chinese virus.”

Watch the MSNBC report and read the NY Times story here.

It’s bad enough that China unleased this madness upon the world but now US bureaucrats are STILL buying equipment from the Chicoms to monitor US citizens? Enough is enough!

Chiraq Mayor Lightfoot: “This is tough on all of us, myself included”

Mayor Lightfoot (r) poses with her stylist after SHE was ALLOWED a hair cut

LIAR. She broke her own social distancing rules to get a haircut. She’s in the “public eye” so that makes her special.

Now the good, hypocritical mayor is cracking down on her citizens’ activities.

Excerpts from MyFoxChicago:

“As large American cities try various strategies to keep people home to limit the coronavirus’s spread, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has balanced a blend of stern — and occasionally scolding — news conferences with lighthearted social media to drive home her point.

Lightfoot’s hard-line approach began with an exasperated announcement in March that she was shutting down lakefront trails, adjacent parks and other crowded public spaces after Chicagoans flocked there on a 70-degree weekday.

“Your conduct — yours — is posing a direct threat to our public health,” Lightfoot chastised people spotted flouting social distancing orders.

In recent days, Lightfoot has taken her efforts a step further. At a press conference announcing a 9 p.m. curfew for liquor stores this week, Lightfoot said she had ordered groups of people to “break it up” while driving in a North Side neighborhood.

Yes,” she said, nodding slowly. “And I’ll continue to do that. I mean what I say. We have to protect ourselves. We have to be smart about what we’re doing in the course of this pandemic. And if it means that I drive around and check whether or not people are in compliance, I am happy to do it.

In reality, the city’s police force has been the true enforcers of Illinois’ stay-at-home order and Lightfoot’s restriction.

Since March 25, the day Lightfoot ordered the lakefront and parks closed, police have dispersed 2,264 groups of 10 people or more, police spokesman Tom Ahern said. Interim Superintendent Charlie Beck issued a warning then that the time for educating was over and the time for enforcement was ramping up. On Friday, Ahern said officers had written 11 citations and made 17 arrests on disorderly charges after refusing to disperse.”

The economic cost of shutting down the US economy

Two weeks ago I wrote a post in which I wondered about the risk and reward of bureaucrats shutting down local economies. From my post:

“In America, you are free to pursue the job of your dreams or start your own business. Imagine the government comes in and demands to shut down your employer or business for public safety. You are now forcibly being robbed of your economic freedoms. Does that not make you some form of an economic slave of the government?

You can’t shut down businesses and expect them to re-open with their regular customers. Those customers have now lost their jobs and will not have any disposable income to spend once the economy is back open for business. That “social distancing” will be long gone when unemployment has reached massive levels.”

Now we’re seeing the economic realities of what happens when you are ordered to stay home. As reported last week: “Jaw-Dropping 10 Million Americans File for Unemployment in Two Weeks.”

I don’t know why anyone would claim that is “jaw-dropping.”

You don’t need a master in economics to believe it was to be expected when businesses are ordered closed and people to shelter in place.

Restaurants are going to be particularly hurt – not just now but also in the future as I anticipate “social distancing” mandates will not go away any time soon. Going out with family and friends to socialize over dinner and drinks is currently a thing of the past.

Last night the owners of Logan’s Roadhouse might have realized the realities of their economic future as they announced they would close 261 restaurants and layoff 18,000 people. From their announcement:

“From the day Logan’s Roadhouse was founded, taking care of our guests and employees has been our top priority. Properly balancing the needs of so many through this COVID-19 crisis has been incredibly challenging for us all. After many long days and nights, we’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily close all corporate restaurants as of March 18, 2020 until further notice.”

Read their whole statement here.

As Deplorable Patriot noted yesterday, we did not shut down our country after 9/11, the swine flu outbreak nor after the attack on Pearl Harbor. We were smart enough to know that the result of shutting down our country would be more devastating than the attacker.

My city is ordered shutdown until the end of April. Another three and a half weeks. And we’ve been shut down since March 16.

There’s got to be a better way, bureaucrats. Because the reality is that the coming economic depression is going to come at a great cost to many of the lives you were trying to save.

Rules for thee but not for me: Mayor Lightfoot defends getting haircut under social distancing order

I’m way overdue for a color appointment at the salon. And I won’t be getting one until sometime in May as our mayor has continued our lockdown through the end of April. I’ll survive though. After all, our combined sacrifices are for the good of the public health. Remember, #WereAllInThisTogether.

Also, I’m not “out in the public eye” so I guess it really doesn’t matter if I’m inconvenienced.

Chiraq Mayor Lori Lightfoot: My haircuts will go on

WGN reports that the good mayor of Chiraq, Lori Lightfoot, defended herself while she disobeyed the “social distancing” orders by getting a haircut. From their report:

“Photos surfaced over the weekend showing the mayor after she got a haircut amid the state’s stay-at-home orders. A woman posted photos on Facebook Sunday saying she “had the pleasure of giving Mayor [Lori] Lightfoot a hair trim.”

In the photos, the mayor is standing next to the woman and they are not standing six feet apart — plus, neither one was wearing a mask.

“Thank you for all the hard work & dedication put forth to help our city,” the post said.

Beauty and hair salons are among the many businesses closed to the public amid the statewide orders.

The mayor was asked about the trim during a press conference Monday. “I’m in the public everyday and candidly, my hair was not looking the way it did,” she said. “I thought I would do it myself but I thought it would be a disaster. So I got a haircut,” she said.

When asked if she was sending mixed messages to Chicagoans, she said she practices what she preaches, but said because she is a public figure, she got the haircut.

“I’m the public face of this city,” she said. “I’m on national media and I’m out in the public eye. I’m a person who takes their personal hygiene very seriously.”

Apparently her stylist wore gloves and a mask so that makes it A-OK for HER. But not for her peons.

Some random thoughts about the rush to shutdown so many businesses in this country

Today at work since I had nothing to do, I started thinking about this pandemic and how quick it has been for local and state governments to shut down our economy and our freedoms.

(Side note: Our city building is closed to the public so it’s just employees. My boss is doing the AM shift and I’m working my regular afternoon shift so we aren’t in the office together. We are practicing that “social distancing.”)

Why is it NOW that we have had such a dramatic reaction to the Wuhan virus? Is it really going to be much worse than SARS, MERS or any other virus we’ve faced throughout the world? Are we going to end up with thousands of deaths like Italy? Has the media hysteria frightened people to panic?

I guess the “experts” know best by ordering “shelter in place” and the shutdown of thousands and thousands of businesses. Why can’t we just quarantine the most vulnerable (except the homeless and inmates, of course), postpone large public gatherings, and recommend some higher level of hygiene?

It is understandable that we need to be aware of the public’s safety and control this virus yet are we not a country with inherent freedoms such as economic pursuit and that of movement?

There’s risk and reward for living a life of freedom and I’m wondering if the risk of shutting down our economy is worth more than the anticipated reward (“flattening the curve”).

In America, you are free to pursue the job of your dreams or start your own business.

That “social distancing” will be long gone when unemployment has reached massive levels.

The “shelter in place” order also has an effect on our freedom to move throughout this country. What will be the psychological and future effects on our interpretation of “freedom of movement” when this finally comes to an end? How many people will suffer depression during their self quarantine and end up costing thousands in the medical field or commit suicide?

I also believe this reaction sets a bad example for our enemies who want to inflict some form of bioterrorism upon us. They now know how easy it would be to cause a panic and economic shutdown of this country. Just. Like. That.

Just some of my random thoughts. There are many differing opinions as to how best to handle this and I am no expert on this, by any means. I just have a terrible feeling that the coming economic result of this is going to be devastating for many, many Americans. Only time will tell if the reaction offered more reward than risk.
