Insanity: Dog in London accused of hate crime after pooping outside a home

The UK lost all common sense several years ago.

From Daily Mail: We all know it’s irritating, unsightly and unhygienic, but one case of dog fouling has been logged by police as a racist hate crime.

The incident is among numerous alleged hate crimes uncovered by The Mail on Sunday that critics say are so petty they are undeserving of police time and expense.

Further examples in a list of more than 2,500 alleged ‘hate incidents’ logged by the Metropolitan Police in 2015 and 2016 include:

  • An envelope that had been opened and resealed;
  • An accident involving a car that bore a Remembrance poppy;
  • A disputed line call in a tennis match;
  • A dead rat found in a garden;
  • And a man telling library staff he was campaigning for Brexit.

Last night, David Davies, Tory MP and former special constable, said the recording of such ‘non-crimes’ was a waste of police time. ‘This is part of the reason that police struggle to investigate serious offences such as home burglaries,’ he said. ‘People need to start thinking more carefully before they call the police.’

The 2,507 hate incidents are revealed in a 118-page document disclosed under Freedom of Information laws.

A description of the dog fouling incident reads: ‘An unknown dog has fouled outside of victim address and victim perceived this to be a racial incident.’

Another canine-related case logged as an alleged hate crime says: ‘Suspect’s dog barking at victim.’

On another occasion, a supposed victim of racial abuse reported that he ‘believes a letter addressed to him was opened and then resealed before he had collected it from the Post Office’.

Several of the claims were over parking disputes or car crashes. One entry says: ‘Unknown suspect has reversed into victim’s car causing extensive damage. Victim perceives to be a hate crime as she had a poppy in front of her car.

Another man claimed that his neighbours were parking only outside his house and were ‘targeting him due to him being black’. Disputes between neighbours feature prominently. One entry says: ‘Victim on hearing her neighbours in their house has put her ear up to their door to hear what they are talking about. In a conversation they have referred to her as [redacted] and made remarks of trying to get her moved out.’

Another reads: ‘Witness has had parking issues with her next-door neighbour, their children apparently throw stones and balls over the garden fence. Witness has recently found a dead rat in garden and perceives this to be racist.

On another occasion, a resident in a block of flats reported that a neighbour was racially abusing them by ‘smoking heavily’.

Meanwhile, an angry father called police after his daughter lost a tennis match to complain the defeat was due to a racist umpire. ‘Informant feels his daughter was subjected to racial discrimination at a tennis match where line calls went against her,’ the incident log reads.

Other arguments involved unhappy customers in shops, pubs and on public transport. They include one person who felt a bus driver had given them a ‘racist look’ and a woman thrown out of a pub for being ‘drunk, aggressive and erratic’ who told police she had been targeted ‘because she is Polish’.

In a separate complaint, a pupil struggling in a swimming lesson reported his teacher for ‘faith-based abuse’ for speaking to him in an ‘abrupt manner’.

Current rules mean police have to record any allegation described as motivated by prejudice as a hate incident, even if it is insufficiently serious to be regarded as a crime. And control room staff are required to note down the details even if the informant does not want any action to be taken.

Scotland Yard has withdrawn claims it has 900 officers dedicated to investigating alleged hate crimes.

Met police chiefs were criticised for bragging about the resources during a surge in London murders. One tweet boasted: ‘We have 900+ specialist officers dedicated to investigating all hate crime.’

All references have now been removed after the force admitted that while 900 detectives working with Community Safety and Safeguarding Units in each of London’s boroughs have had hate crime training, they devote most of their time to investigating domestic abuse.

It said: ‘We found a number of tweets gave the impression 900 officers were “dedicated” to the investigation of hate crime… This information was incorrect and at the first opportunity was removed.’

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has a serious crime problem: City sets record for murders as police launch 100th investigation

Progressives always ruin great cities…

From Yahoo (via the Telegraph): Sadiq Khan has been urged to get a grip of the “horrendous” gang warfare epidemic in London after police in capital opened their 100th homicide investigation this year.

Violent crime in London has soared in recent months, briefly overtaking the murder rate in New York, and figures are on track to make 2018 the deadliest in a decade.

Detectives are now looking into the murder of Kaltoun Saleh, 43, who she died in hospital on Tuesday seven weeks after she was severely burnt in a flat fire in Finsbury Park.

Neil O’Brien, a Conservative MP, said: “Sadiq Khan needs to get a grip on this horrendous epidemic. London has the resources it needs, but needs political leadership, which is currently lacking.”

As a result of the lawlessness in the capital, those attending Notting Hill Carnival this bank holiday weekend will have to pass through knife arches for the first time in the event’s history.

Khan tweeted a Met Police press release detailing their policing plans for the carnival, calling it a “fantastic celebration of what makes London great”, thanking officers for “making sure it’s safe for everyone to enjoy themselves”.

Last year, 300 arrests were made at the carnival as those attending repeatedly clashed with police in what was meant to be a sombre occasion in tribute to the 72 people who lost their lives in the Grenfell Tower disaster.

Writing in The Daily Telegraph in July, former Mayor of London Boris Johnson accused his successor of an “abject failure to grip the problem” of violence in the city, calling his “pathetic performance” a failure to take responsibility for the wave of knife and gun crime.

Reacting to the homicide cases reaching 100 in London, former Home Secretary Lord Blunkett told The Daily Telegraph: “It’s a tragedy that we have reached this unacceptable benchmark.

“It is regrettably part of a broader trend linked to knife crime and cuts. The withdrawal of resources has been particularly felt by the Met, because the Met has to pick up the cost of counter-terrorism as well.”

London could this year surpass the 2017 tally for homicides – murder or manslaughter – of 131, but the comparative figure remains lower than in 2007 when it stood at 164.

With no sign of stemming the flow the bloodshed in London, Scotland Yard are taking no chances this weekend on the eve of more than a million people descending on west London for Notting Hill Carnival.

Some 13,000 officers will be deployed to the two-day event – around 450 more than last year and the highest number since 2011 when the carnival went ahead in the aftermath of the London riots.

It is hoped the “tried and tested” arches will put off those planning to arm themselves with knives and offensive weapons, but not everybody will be expected to pass through them, according to Scotland Yard.

A range of officers will be deployed, including those from the Metropolitan Police’s newly-formed Violent Crime Task Force, undercover police, a the firearms unit and the dog unit.

Superintendent Elisabeth Chapple, Met spokeswoman on the carnival, said the metal detecting arches will be placed in the street and “people flow through them”, adding: “We won’t be specifically selecting people to go through them.

Wolf whistling and sexist remarks could become hate crimes in London

Seems to be the new PC norm for Europe.
From Evening Standard: The Metropolitan Police today (Thursday, 12/7) revealed it is speaking with other UK forces to assess whether it is worth cracking down on gender-based hate crimes after a pilot scheme was launched in the East Midlands last year.
The trial, led by Nottinghamshire Police, saw sexist incidents like street harassment, verbal abuse and taking photos without consent recorded as hate crimes, carrying tougher penalties for offenders.
Police chiefs are now considering rolling out the idea elsewhere in the UK, suggesting a harsher stance on everyday sexism could stop it escalating into sexual harassment or assault. Police believe halting misogynistic remarks could go towards lowering serious sexual violence crimes overall.
A Scotland Yard spokesman told the Standard: “We have been speaking to other forces about their experiences of the practicalities of recording gender based hate crime and will use this, along with feedback from our partners, to inform any future changes to MPS policy.”
Earlier this week the National Police Chiefs Council’ head of hate crime told the Commons’ women and equalities committee that the current policing debate surrounds whether to take action on sexism earlier on.
Assistant chief constable Mark Hamilton told MPs: “Issues such as on street behaviour that people feel should be accepted as part of the interaction of daily life actually has a detrimental and damaging impact.
“Sexual harassment of a woman or a girl at a bus stop by a male might be some things that some women feel they are just going to have to accept, that no one’s going to do anything about it.
“The debate in policing now is moving much more to identify those issues in the same way as we would other types of incident or crime, establishing if a crime has been committed or not.  But even if a crime hasn’t been committed the debate now is similar to hate crime incidents.
Should we be taking action of some variety to address the behaviour before it escalates into a crime and also most importantly to try and restore some confidence to the victim and make them feel that what happened to them is being addressed somewhere.”
Dozens of women reported misogynistic crimes to Nottingham Police in the first few months of the pilot scheme, the force said. Sexist offences were reported at a similar rate to other hate crimes.
A hate crime is considered to be any incident where someone is targeted because of their identity – whether it be race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or an alternative sub-culture like being a goth.
It can take any shape and is not always illegal behaviour, officers say.

Shocker, not: Refugees eyed in British subway terrorist attack

sadiq khan
From Fox News: Authorities named one of two Middle Eastern refugees believed to be responsible for last week’s London subway bombing, as new details emerged about their troubled time being fostered by a British couple previously honored by Queen Elizabeth II.
Yahyah Farroukh, 21, was identified as one of the suspects being held by London police, Sky News reported. Farroukh was arrested at a fried chicken shop, where he worked, in Hounslow in west London Saturday night. Suleman Sarwar, 43, who owns the chicken shop, said the 21-year-old suspect was arrested after he finished his shift.
“He was very normal,” Sarwar told Sky News. “I don’t know how long he worked here. It was surprising seeing him on the news.”
Farroukh’s Facebook profile indicated he was from Damascus and studied English in West Thamas College between 2013 and 2015. He was living in Stanwell, Surrey, where officials conducted a search on Sunday, but also most recently was registered to live with Penelope and Ronald Jones, who were honored by the queen for fostering more than 200 children – including refugees from Middle Eastern countries affected by conflicts. Another unidentified 18-year-old man who was arrested earlier in the day at Dover ferry port, where boats to France leave, was also fostered by the couple.
Both men are being held under the Terrorism Act and questioned by London police about Friday’s attack, when an improvised explosive device partially detonated aboard a subway train at Parsons Green station during morning rush hour, injuring 30 people.
But trouble with the couple’s foster children was reportedly visible beforehand – when police visited the Sunbury house two or three weeks ago, according to neighbor Stephen Griffiths.
“The police were there multiple times over the span of about a month — a few times a week,” Griffiths said. “You always think foster kids are going to have a bit of trouble, but you don’t think terrorism.”
The 18-year-old man is believed to be an Iraqi orphan who moved to the United Kingdom when he was 15 years old, after his parents died. The man was reportedly a “problem” for the foster parents and they had been contacting officials before the attack, according to the Telegraph. He lived with the Joneses, but hadn’t been arrested “in the last couple of weeks” despite the police activity at the Jones house, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman told Sky News.
The news of frequent police visits could shed light on a tweet sent soon after the attack by President Trump in which he appeared to criticize British authorities for not acting sooner to prevent the attack.
“Another attack in London by a loser terrorist. These are sick and demented people who were in the sights of Scotland Yard. Must be proactive!” Trump wrote.
Images of the 18-year-old suspect, who is believed to have planted the bomb, have not emerged.
ITV News, however, obtained CCTV footage showing a man near Joneses’ Sunbury house Friday morning carrying a bag from Lidl supermarket. Images after the device detonated on Friday showed it was carried in a Lidl bag.
ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, but British officials said there’s no proof yet the terror group was actively involved in the planning, preparation or carrying out of the attack. British Prime Minister Theresa May raised the city’s terror threat level to “critical” – meaning an attack is imminent – but downgraded it Sunday to “severe” – meaning an attack is highly likely.
“Severe still means that an attack is highly likely, so I would urge everybody to be vigilant but not alarmed,” Home Secretary Amber Rudd said.
