When they go low: SNL’s Pete Davidson mocks US war veteran who lost an eye in war

Pete Davidson is a comedian who works on SNL. He’s also a jerk who mocks disabled veterans.

He appeared on SNL Saturday night to make fun of republicans running in the mid-terms. In the video, Davidson mocks Dan Crenshaw who is running for Congress in Texas. About Crenshaw, from his web site:

“Lieutenant Commander Dan Crenshaw (Retired) is the Republican nominee to replace retiring Congressman Ted Poe as the Representative for Texas’ 2nd Congressional District. Dan knew that he wanted to serve his country with the most elite fighting force in history: the U.S. Navy SEALs. Dan graduated from Tufts University in 2006, where he earned his Naval officer commission through Navy ROTC. He immediately reported to SEAL training in Coronado, CA, where he met his future wife, Tara, just a few months later. After graduating SEAL training, Dan deployed to Fallujah, Iraq to join SEAL Team Three, his first of five deployments overseas.

On Dan’s third deployment in 2012, his life changed forever. After six months of combat operations, Dan was hit by an IED blast during a mission in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was evacuated and awoke from his medically induced coma learning that his right eye had been destroyed in the blast and his left eye was still present, but badly damaged. Dan was completely blind and the doctors did not believe he would ever see again. Tara stood by him every day and night, keeping faith and praying he would see again. After several difficult surgeries, he eventually regained sight in his left eye, a miracle according to the head surgeon. Dan refused to quit and went on to deploy twice more, first back to the Middle East in 2014 and then South Korea in 2016.

Dan was medically retired in September of 2016, after ten years in the SEAL Teams. He left service with two Bronze Stars (one with Valor), the Purple Heart, and the Navy Commendation Medal with Valor, among many other recognitions.”

In the SNL skit Davidson says the following (beginning at the :58 second mark):

“This guy Dan Crenshaw. You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hit man in a porno movie. I’m sorry. I know he lost his eye in war or whatever. Whatever.

Classy. Real classy.

Mr. Crenshaw took the high road and had a classier response to NBC:

“Good rule in life: I try hard not to offend; I try harder not to be offended. That being said, I hope recognizes that vets don’t deserve to see their wounds used as punchlines for bad jokes.”

Hollyweird hypocrites: Self-proclaimed feminist stars keep attacking Sarah Sanders for her looks

chelsea handler tweet
From Fox News: Hollywood women have banded together like never before on issues including pay inequality and sexual harassment, declaring that women all over the world need to stick together and be supportive of one another. But experts say several stars aren’t practicing what they preach when it comes to Donald Trump’s press secretary, Sarah Sanders.
Self-proclaimed activist Chelsea Handler wrote in an op-ed for Thrive in Dec. 2016: “Let’s stop it with the dialogue about how women look or what they wear, or if they’ve gained or lost weight. We are more guilty of this with each other than most men are.”
Cher has often spoken out about the sexualization of womendeclaring at the Women’s March on Jan. 20 that she “believe[s] in this movement.”
But both stars recently attacked Sanders solely over her looks.
Cher tweeted to Sanders on Tuesday to “stop dressing like a sister wife.” After fans slammed Cher for the hurtful tweet, she followed up by admitting it was “kinda mean” but “so funny.”
Handler has gone even further than Cher by mocking Sanders’ “summer whore lipstick” and calling her a “harlot” on her Netflix show. Comedian Fortune Feimster even wore exaggerated makeup to play Sanders for a skit on Handler’s now-defunct series.
And “Saturday Night Live” took a similar swipe at the press secretary’s outfits by putting the show’s Sanders character in a revealing outfit to dance provocatively to a pop song in a November 2017 episode.
The show has also dressed the Sanders character, played by Aidy Bryant, in a bright pink dress to mock the press secretary’s frequent color choice.
Penny Nance, President and CEO of Concerned Women for America, told Fox News Cher’s recent insults proves Hollywood feminists don’t play by their own rules when it comes to conservative women.
“Cher’s attack on Sarah is yet another example of how liberal women in all types of powerful positions stand up for only those women who adhere to their ideology,” Nance told Fox News. “If you’re a conservative woman, prepare to be thrown out of the feminist tent. Their message is that some women will be supported. That some women will be empowered. That some women will [be] trusted. But they don’t support all women and especially those of us who support life.”
Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture at the Media Research Center, echoed Nance’s comments adding that the recent attacks on Sanders’ looks are “especially offensive.”
They don’t just attack her for being conservative. They dare to treat her as if she’s not a woman. They blast her clothes and say she dresses like a ‘sister wife,'” Gainor said. “…Chelsea Handler called her a ‘harlot’ with ‘summer whore lipstick.’ And these are women doing this. Imagine the media outrage if conservatives dared to treat a liberal woman with such disgust.”
He added, “Liberals hate anyone who doesn’t side with them.”
Branding and public relations expert Scott Pinsker told Fox News these stars are hurting their brands by attacking Trump’s press secretary.
“An awful lot of women in America look more like Sarah Sanders than the Hollywood starlets who are bashing Trump and his supporters on all the award shows,” Pinsker explained. “If you want to disagree with Ms. Sanders’ political positions, that’s perfectly legitimate, but mocking her for being normal-looking isn’t exactly empowering to women.”

Billy Baldwin tears into Trump for once "hitting on his wife"

billy baldwin

Brave Billy: Coming out with details over two decades later…

So now hitting on a woman is considered “sexual impropriety?” Careful what rules you want to establish while trying to deflect, proggies.
From MSN: Actor Billy Baldwin on Thursday alleged that President Trump hit on his wife at a party, calling the president a “5th degree black belt when it comes to sexual impropriety allegations.” “Your Dad is a 5th degree black belt when it comes to sexual impropriety allegations. In fact… I once had a party at the Plaza Hotel… your father showed up uninvited and hit on my wife… invited her on his helicopter to Atlantic City,” Baldwin tweeted.
“She showed his fat a** the door,” he added.
Baldwin’s tweet came in response to a post from Donald Trump Jr. sharing the latest allegations against Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.).
Sexual misconduct has been a major focus in Washington in recent weeks. In addition to Franken, Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore has been accused of making advances on teenage girls when he was in his 30s.
Multiple women have accused Rep. John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.), the longest serving member in the House, of sexual misconduct.
Allegations of sexual misconduct against Trump surfaced during the 2016 presidential campaign. Trump denied the accusations, and on Tuesday appeared to throw his support behind Moore and downplayed the allegations against him.
Baldwin’s brother, Alec, has been a staunch critic of Trump. Alec has drawn Trump’s ire for his portrayal of the president on “Saturday Night Live.”

Students blast Steve Martin's King Tut skit as "racist"

Special snowflakes with special demands need to take a chill pill. I bet these students are a BLAST during Thanksgiving dinner.
From NY Post: ComedianSteve Martin’s famous portrayal of King Tut on “Saturday Night Live” has suddenly come under fire by students at an ultra-liberal college in Oregon.
Students in a humanities class at Reed College blasted the inclusion of the ancient skit in their coursework, branding it a vile example of cultural appropriation — as they demanded that it be removed entirely.
“That’s like somebody … making a song just littered with the n-word everywhere,” a member of Reedies Against Racism told the student newspaper, according to The Atlantic.
The student called the performance, which includes African-Americans clad in faux ancient Egyptian attire, as racist. “The gold face of the saxophone dancer leaving its tomb is an exhibition of blackface,” the incensed student told The Atlantic.
In the skit, which Martin created in 1978, he performs a goofy song, “King Tut,” meant to satirize a Tutankhamun exhibit touring the US from 1976 to 1979, and to assail the commercialization of Egyptian culture.
Freshmen taking Humanities 110, which is designed for students “to engage in original, open-ended, critical inquiry,” said they should not be forced to take the required course until different coursework is offered.
Members of RAR, which was created to mourn the deaths of blacks at the hands of police nationwide, say Hum 110 is all about oppression. “We believe that the first lesson that freshmen should learn about Hum 110 is that it perpetuates white supremacy—by centering ‘whiteness’ as the only required class at Reed,” according to a RAR statement provided to all new freshmen.
Hum 110 “feels like a cruel test for students of color,” one leader said on public radio, according to the mag. “It traumatized my peers.”
Reed Professor Lucía Martínez Valdivia, who identifies herself as a gay mixed-race woman, wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post on her experiences with the protesters.
“The right to speak freely is not the same as the right to rob others of their voices,” she wrote. “Some colleagues, including people of color, immigrants and those without tenure, found it impossible to work under these conditions.
“The signs intimidated faculty into silence, just as intended,” wrote Martínez Valdivia, who said she has suffered from a “lack of sleep, nausea, loss of appetite, inability to focus.”
The school has reportedly been trying to revise its course to address RAR’s concerns, but students have stopped showing up to meetings designed to do so, according to the Washington Examiner.
In the “SNL” skit, Martin said he thought the boy king exhibit was “a national disgrace the way we have commercialized it with trinkets and toys, T-shirts and posters.”
“Now, if I’d known they’d line up just to see you, I’d trade in all my money and bought me a museum. (King Tut) buried with a donkey (Funky Tut) He’s my favorite honky!” he and his band sang.

Women of SNL release statement in support of Al Franken

al franken

Al Franken: A devoted and dedicated family man…

Y‘all may regret that decision, ladies.
From Entertainment Weekly: Women who worked with Al Franken on Saturday Night Live are stepping out to support him — 36 “SNL Women,” to be exact.
The comic-turned-senator, who spent a total of 15 years on the series as a writer and performer, faced sexual misconduct accusations by KABC radio anchor Leeann Tweeden last week, who claimed Franken groped her and kissed her without consent during a USO tour in 2006, and even released a photo of Franken appearing to be grabbing her breasts while she was sleeping. Franken has since apologized and Tweeden accepted it, and now, his former colleagues are speaking out in solidarity with him.
“We feel compelled to stand up for Al Franken, whom we have all had the pleasure of working with over the years on Saturday Night Live (SNL),” begins a statement signed by the 36 women, including Not Ready for Prime Time Players Jane Curtin and Laraine Newman. “What Al did was stupid and foolish, and we think it was appropriate for him to apologize to Ms. Tweeden, and to the public. In our experience, we know Al as a devoted and dedicated family man, a wonderful comedic performer, and an honorable public servant. That is why we are moved to quickly and directly affirm that after years of working with him, we would like to acknowledge that not one of us ever experienced any inappropriate behavior; and mention our sincere appreciation that he treated each of us with the utmost respect and regard.”
Last weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live didn’t exactly go easy on Franken. “Now, I know this photo looks bad, but remember — it also is bad,” Colin Jost quipped during Weekend Update, later adding, “Sure, this was taken before Franken ran for public office, but it was also taken after he was a sophomore in high school. It’s pretty hard to be like, ‘Oh, come on, he didn’t know anything — he was only 55.’”
I believe the womyn supporting Franken wrote this letter before pictures surfaced of Franken groping Arianna Huffington during a photo shoot. Oops…

SNL And That Sick Feeling

For many years I have felt sick any time I allowed myself to watch an episode of Saturday Night Live. As I recently began to re-read Psalms from the beginning, I noticed that the very first verse of the very first psalm addresses that sick feeling. SNL may sometimes be funny, but their humor is always scornful. So when I watch SNL I am sitting “in the company of mockers” and my spirit is sending me a clear warning.
“They that have ears to hear, let them hear.”

Psalm 1

“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.”

Ellen DeGeneres won't invite Donald Trump on her show anytime soon

degeneres

Ellen DeGeneres: Tolerance is a one-way street…

Well, I’m sure Trump is devastated.
From Yahoo:  Ellen DeGeneres has hosted a number of presidents on her show — Barack Obama came on to dance with her and George W. Bush joined to talk about his paintings. But there is one person you won’t see anywhere near DeGeneres’ pristine white armchairs: Donald Trump.
After Ellen interviewed Matt Lauer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week, Lauer turned the tables on her, interviewing DeGeneres about several topics for The Today Show, including Donald Trump.
After discussing the impact of coming out on television 20 years ago, Lauer asked the talk show host whether or not she would invite the current president on the couch.
“What’s your relationship with Donald Trump — do you know him at all? Have you had a chance to interview him or talk to him?,” he asked. DeGeneres explained she knows him from the show Celebrity Apprentice, but has not spoken to him since his political career.
Lauer then asked Degeneres if she was interested in having Trump on the show, to which she responded with a simple, “um, no.”
Donald Trump might not be a fixture on the talk show circuit now, but during the election season, Trump’s appearance on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon drew a number of criticisms about normalizing the then-candidate and his policies—all of which have been far from “normal.”
DeGeneres, on the other hand, is doing the opposite.
“I’m not going to change his mind,” DeGeneres explained to Lauer. “He’s against everything that I stand for. We need to look at someone else who looks different than us and believes in something that we don’t believe in and still accept them and still let them have their rights.”

Always Listen To Advice From Older People With Experience.

Free Animations

A Cowboy sitting in a saloon one Saturday night recognized an elderly man standing at the bar who, in his day, had the reputation of being the fastest gun in the West.
The young cowboy took a place next to the old-timer, bought him a drink, and told him the story of his great ambition.
‘Do you think you could give me some tips?’ he asked.
The old man looked him up and down and said, ‘Well, for one thing, you’re wearing your gun too high, tie the holster a little lower down on your leg.’
‘Will that make me a better gunfighter?’ asked the young man.
‘Sure will,’ replied the old-timer.
The young man did as he was told, stood up, whipped out his 44 and shot the bow tie off the piano player.
‘That’s terrific!’ said the hot shot. ‘Got any more tips for me?’
‘Yep,’ said the old man. ‘Cut a notch out of your holster where the hammer hits it, that’ll give you a smoother draw’
‘Will that make me a better gunfighter?’ asked the younger man.
‘You bet it will,’ said the old-timer.
The young man took out his knife, cut the notch, stood up, drew his gun in a blur, and then shot a cufflink off the piano player.
‘Wow!’ exclaimed the cowboy ‘I’m learnin’ somethin’ here. Got any more tips?’
The old man pointed to a large can in a corner of the saloon. ‘See that axle grease over there? Coat your gun with it.’
The young man went over to the can and smeared some of the grease on the barrel of his gun.
‘No,’ said the old-timer, ‘I mean smear it all over the gun, handle and all.’
‘Will that make me a better gunfighter?’ asked the young man. ‘No,’ said the old-timer, ‘but when Wyatt Earp gets done playing the piano, he’s gonna shove that gun up your butt, and it won’t hurt as much.’
