Obama's speech to the UN General Assembly, Sept. 24, 2014

Here’s the full text of Obama’s speech to the UN on Wednesday, or does anyone care? LOL
I’m reblogging this only because Roger Cohen (who he?) of the New York Times quoted from the speech and lauded Obama on his “new resolve.” Gag….

Obama sends 600 troops to E. Europe as warning to Russia

Having just removed the last U.S. battle tanks from Europe, the U.S. is not ready for either a cold or hot war with Russia over Ukraine, and Obama had already said that the U.S. and NATO have no plan to use force in Ukraine.

So why is he sending 600 troops to 4 E. European countries bordering on Russia and Ukraine?

Does he actually think the Russian Army, with 360,000 soldiers, would be deterred by our 600?

Obama removes all U.S. battle tanks from Europe

That, in turn, means the United States, henceforth, will not be able to fight a land war in Europe.

10,000 Russian troops conduct massive nuclear exercise

This is ominous, especially in view of Putin’s military doctrine that states Russia would use nuclear weapons “in response to large-scale aggression utilizing conventional weapons in situations critical to the national security of the Russian Federation,” that is, even if Russia proper hadn’t been attacked.

Obama: West has no plan to use force in Ukraine

After all his huffing and puffing at Russia’s annexation of Ukraine’s Crimea, after (reportedly) funding, arming and training the pro-EU Ukrainian protesters, Obama just declared that the U.S. and NATO will NOT use force, whatever happens in the Ukraine, thereby giving Vladimir Putin the green light to go ahead.

We now know what the Obama Doctrine is: Talk bullish and carry a wet noodle, aka Whip the Fish:

Obama pledges $1 billion to Ukraine in violation of Foreign Assistance Act of 1961

The plain truth is the U.S. government is broke.

Our OFFICIAL $17+ trillion national debt is now an alarming 108% of our gross national product.

And yet Obama and both parties in Congress want to give $1 billion to Ukraine, which will not only be money down the drain, but is also in violation of our own law!

Snowden granted 1-year asylum in Russia, leaves airport

Don’t know if he’s a hero or a traitor. I do know skippy can’t touch him know. Well of course there is always things that go bump in the night.

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has been granted temporary asylum in Russia and is allowed to enter the country’s territory.
The whistleblower has been granted temporary political asylum in Russia, Snowden’s legal representative Anatoly Kucherena said, with his words later confirmed by Russia’s Federal Migration service.
“I have just handed over to him papers from the Russian Immigration Service. They are what he needs to leave the transit zone,” he added.
Kucherena showed a photocopy of the document to the press. According to it, Snowden is free to stay in Russia until at least July 31, 2014. His asylum status may be extended annually upon request.
With his newly-awarded legal status in Russia, Snowden cannot be handed over to the US authorities, even if Washington files an official request. He can now be transported to the United States only if he agrees to go voluntarily.
Snowden departed at around 15.30 Moscow time (11.30 GMT), airport sources said. His departure came some 30 minutes before his new refugee status was officially announced.
His present location has not been made public nor will it be disclosed, Kucherena said.
“He is the most wanted person on earth and his security will be a priority,” the attorney explained. “He will deal with personal security issues and lodging himself. I will just consult him as his lawyer.”
Snowden eventually intends to talk to the press in Russia, but needs at least one day of privacy, Kucherena said.
The whistleblower was unaccompanied when he left the airport in a regular taxi, Kucherena added.
However, WikiLeaks contradicted the lawyer, saying the organization’s activist Sarah Harrison
Russia is confident that the latest development in the Snowden case will not affect US President Barack Obama’s upcoming visit to Moscow, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said.
“We are aware of the atmosphere being created in the US over Snowden, but we didn’t get any signals [indicating a possible cancellation of the visit] from American authorities,” he told RIA Novosti.
Snowden, a former CIA employee and NSA contractor, came to international prominence after leaking several classified documents detailing massive electronic surveillance by the US government and foreign allies who collaborated with them.
Snowden was hiding out in a Hong Kong hotel when he first went public in May. Amidst mounting US pressure on both Beijing and local authorities in the former-British colony to hand the whistleblower over for prosecution, Snowden flew to Moscow on June 23.
Moscow was initially intended as a temporary stopover on his journey, as Snowden was believed to be headed to Ecuador via Cuba. However, he ended up getting stranded at Sheremetyevo Airport after the US government revoked his passport. Snowden could neither leave Russia nor enter it, forcing him to remain in the airport’s transit zone.
In July, Snowden applied for temporary asylum in Russia, a status that would allow him to live and work in the country for one year. Kucherena earlier said the fugitive whistleblower is considering securing permanent residency in Russia, where he will attempt to build a life.

Islamic Terrorism: The Russians "Get It"

Russia detains 140 suspected Islamic extremists

(AP) Russia detains 140 suspected Islamic extremists
MOSCOW
Russian police and security agents have detained 140 people at a mosque in Moscow on suspicion of involvement with Islamic extremism.
A statement from the Federal Security Agency reported by Russian news agencies said among those detained in the Friday action were 30 citizens of unspecified foreign countries.
The detentions come a week after the two suspects in the fatal Boston Marathon bombing were identified as originating from the Russian region of Chechnya and sympathizing with Islamic extremists.
There were no immediate reports of charges being filed. The security agency referred The Associated Press to a district office, where the telephone was not answered.
The reports cited the agency as saying the mosque previously has been visited by people who had been involved in preparing or carrying out terrorist attacks.

terror_attacksClearly the Russian government, no stranger to Islamic terrorism itself, is not encumbered by the self-destructive mental illness that is political correctness, as we seem to be hopelessly afflicted with it here in America.
Even our normally docile neighbors to the north appear to be catching on, and like the Russians, are taking proactive steps to try and protect their citizens from the 7th Century primitives.
Yet here in post 9/11 America, the supposedly most powerful nation the world has ever seen – a place where five Jihadists have successfully reached their targets since January 20th, 2009, the man charged with defending us from our enemies cannot even bring himself to utter the phrase Islamic terrorism.
I hope we will not wind up eating a couple of cities before this nation, and its government, finally wake up to the reality that is Islam.
