This is awful, devastating news.
From AP via Page Six:
“There are going to be days that I’m not going to be able to be here. Because I will be undergoing treatment,” said the syndicated conservative radio host of “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” according to a C-Span rep in a tweet.
Limbaugh, 69, said he went to the doctor after experiencing shortness of breath and was eventually diagnosed.
He told listeners that he would be out for the next few days for treatment and hoped to return to the air Thursday, The Hill said.
“Those of you who are listening to the Rush Limbaugh Show now. Pray with us. Thank you. God bless you Rush Limbaugh. Love you so much Rush,” his producer, Bo Snerdley, tweeted.
Limbaugh, a buddy of President Trump, told listeners before signing off, “Every day I’m not here I’ll be missing you and thinking about you.”
He just signed a new “long-term” contract last month with a subsidiary of iHeartMedia, The Hill said.
There have been three times in my life when I had a premonition of death.
The first two times were of two friends, seemingly healthy at the time when I last saw them when I had a feeling they would not be long for the world. Sadly, my premonition turned out to be true in both cases.
My husband passed away last August. Soon after his death, I was listening to Rush Limbaugh one morning on the radio when, out of nowhere, I had a feeling that he wouldn’t be long for the world.
Since that feeling, I had tried to tell myself that I was being silly because Rush has longevity in his genes — both his father and grandfather had lived a long life.
So you can imagine my utter dismay when I saw the New York Post news just a few minutes ago.
Lung cancer often has no or few symtoms until it is advanced. Reportedly, Rush’s only symptom was loss of breath. That is why about 40% of people with lung cancer are diagnosed when their cancer is already advanced or stage 4, which means the cancer has metastasized (spread) throughout the body to other organs such as the brain, bones, or liver.
There are many variables (age, gender, general health at diagnosis, response to treatment, other health conditions such as emphysema, and where it spreads) which can affect lung cancer survival. That being said, the median (the time at which 50 percent of patients are alive and 50 percent have passed away) life expectancy of stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer is only around 8 months. The 5-year survival rate after a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer is sadly only 4%.
Rush Limbaugh has been stalwart and unwavering in his support for and defense of President Trump. The loss of Rush to the conservative cause will be incalculable and devastasting.
Please pray for him.
Please pray for America.
