They have no shame: Demorats continue to ignore the Wuhan virus mandates. The list grows: Newsom, Lightfoot, Pelosi, Breed, Cuomo, Adler (Austin mayor), Kuehl, etc.
Add Chicago Alderman Tom Tunney (demorat) to the ever-growing list.
Alderman Tom Tunney
From MyFoxChicago: “Chicago alderman admits breaking indoor dining rules in his restaurants.”
Excerpts from their story:
“A Chicago alderman acknowledged Monday that he violated state and city orders banning indoor dining when he allowed indoor dining at restaurants he owns.
Alderman Tom Tunney made the admission after a blog devoted to police issues disclosed that diners had been eating inside his Ann Sather restaurants.
“We have, on occasion, sat regular diners in the back of the restaurant… I made a mistake, and I’m owning up to it. I should have not sat regular customers in my restaurant whatsoever,” said Tunney. Tunney also said the number of customers allowed inside was “very limited” and that they observed social distancing and mask wearing rules.
Tunney, he told the Chicago Sun-Times, was ”trying to figure out how to keep team members employed and paid” and help some of his regular diners.”

Some may say that the alderman (since 2003) could afford to pay staff something while they are shutdown since he has a net worth of $1 million.
I’d argue that Tunney (who Chicago Mayor Lightfoot also appointed as vice mayor in 2019) should pick up the phone and call Lightfoot or Gov. Pritzker. No doubt he has close connections to them and could explain how these shutdowns harm his employees and business.
Yet that’s not the Chicago/Demorat Way. You play nice with your bosses and hope you don’t get caught breaking a few rules. And if you do get caught, just apologize. Or you pull a Pelosi and claim you were “set up.”
It’s good to be a demorat who is never held accountable for their actions.
