Convicted child rapist Roman Polanski wins Venice Film Festival award

What an effect that “Me Too” movement (in part popularized by Hollyweird actress Alyssa Milano) had on “giving people a sense of the magnitude of the problem” of sexual harassment.

From Yahoo: “Joker” from director Todd Phillips won the Golden Lion, and “J’Accuse,” or “An Officer and a Spy,” from director Roman Polanski has won the Grand Jury Prize, the festival’s runner up prize, at the 76th edition of the Venice Film Festival.

The comic book film starring Joaquin Phoenix in an origin story of the iconic Batman villain beat out a lineup that also included films such as James Gray’s “Ad Astra” and Steven Soderbergh’s “The Laundromat” for the top prize.

“I want to thank Warner Bros. and DC for stepping out of their comfort zone and taking a big swing on me,” director Todd Phillips said as he accepted the Golden Lion.

Polanski’s “An Officer and a Spy” stars Jean Dujardin in a film about the Dreyfus Affair. His presence at the festival generated some backlash, as it’s his first film since the director was expelled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He was not present in Venice to accept the award.

Women among the jury included the following:

Lucrecia Martel, who once said this: “I feel bad for male friends and colleagues, but a man’s education is made, in a way, in order to avoid failure. That’s why I think gender violence is more men on women rather than women on men, because they are not able to manage frustration. This ability to manage frustration is a big advantage in this profession and I am actually very surprised that there are not more women making cinema today. Because being a woman makes you more ready to do this.”

Mary Harron, who made this claim at the Festival: “We’re trying to overturn a system of inertia that works in favor of the status quo: funders give money to people like themselves, or they are women trying to keep their position in a male-dominated world.”

Stacy Martin, who made this claim about the Festival: ”It’s a slow process, but in the hopes of achieving gender equality in a male-dominated industry, being included in the jury and being a part of the changes happening is very important to me.”

Take a bow, you hypocrites.

A ‘Playboy’ movement: Hollyweird actress Anjelica Huston defends child rapist Polanski

From Daily Mail: Legendary actress Anjelica Huston has jumped to the defense of maligned Hollywood figures Woody Allen, Roman Polanski and Jeffrey Tambor – but she still thinks beloved comedian Bill Murray is a ‘s**t’.

In an outspoken and unabashed interview published in New York Magazine, the 67-year-old admitted she’d work with Allen again ‘in a second’ despite allegations reemerging that the filmmaker abused his daughter, Dylan O’Sullivan Farrow, when she was just seven.

‘Two states investigated him,’ Huston, who has worked on two films with Allen, noted. ‘And neither of them prosecuted him,’ she added – reaffirming that she’d jump at an opportunity to collaborate with him again.

Huston’s stance marks a stark contrast to other Hollywood stars, such as Greta Gerwig, Timothée Chalamet and Colin Firth, who have all recently voiced regret about working with Allen.

In the same vein of questioning, the Oscar-winner was also asked about director Roman Polanski’s 1977 sex abuse case, in which he raped a 13-year-old girl in the home of Jack Nicholson, who was Huston’s boyfriend at the time.

Present at the residence as the assault took place, Huston insisted Polanski’s actions were part of ‘a whole playboy movement’ and can’t be judged by today’s standards of sexual abuse because it was simply a different time.

‘It’s a story that could’ve happened in ten years before in England or France or Italy or Spain or Portugal, and no one would’ve heard anything about it,’ Huston said. She added that that approaching underage girls was simply ‘de rigueur for most of the guys like Roman who had grown up with the European sensibility.

‘That’s how these guys enjoy their time,’ she claimed.

4th woman accuses atheist director Roman Polanski of child-rape

Thu, 05 Oct 2017 11:48:37 +0000

eowyn2

Director Roman Polanski, 84, is a fugitive from justice.

In 1977, Polanski was arrested and charged with raping a 13-year-old girl named Samantha Geimer. He pled guilty to the charge of statutory rape, but fled from the United States to Paris before he could be sentenced. He has lived in exile in Europe ever since.

It turns out Roman Polanski is a serial child-rapist.

John Nolte reports for Breitbart, Oct. 3, 3017, that a fourth woman has come forth, accusing Polanski of raping her when she was a minor.

According to The New York Times, 61-year-old former actress Renate Langer filed a complaint with the Swiss police accusing Polanski of raping her on two occasions, the first time in 1972 when she was just 15. Langer says the sexual assault took place when she was visiting the director at his home in Gstaad after he’d expressed an interest in her for a film. The following month, with the promise of a movie role and an apology, he lured her into another rape.

In addition to Langer and Geimer, Polanski is also accused by:

Born in Paris of agnostic Polish Jewish parents, Polanski said he’s an atheist in an interview about his most famous film, Rosemary’s Baby. (Wikipedia)

John Nolte points to the hypocrisy of feminists and Hollywood:

Roman Polanski remains the Great White Hypocrisy of America’s oh-so woke, leftwing feminists. An Oscar-winner who also happens to be a fugitive child rapist, he is also a cause célèbre among Hollywood’s beautiful people….

You see, the sophisticated left wants us to forgive and forget Roman’s crimes — kind of like the way they want us to forgive and forget the myriad of accusations against former President Bill Clinton.

In the wake of his heinous 1977 crime, countless self-proclaimed male and female “feminists” have worked with, celebrated, and defended Polanski.

This fourth accuser will change nothing.

Indeed. Where’s the “social justice” outrage for Polanski’s victims and the countless other victims of Hellywood pedophiles?
