New welfare program Universal Basic Income comes to California

The U.S. government has a dizzying array of taxpayer-funded welfare programs, including:

  1. Negative Income Tax
  2. SNAP, formerly called Food Stamps
  3. Housing Assistance
  4. SSI (Supplemental Security Income)
  5. Pell Grants
  6. TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
  7. Child Nutrition
  8. Head Start
  9. Job Training Programs
  10. WIC (healthy food for Women, Infants and Children)
  11. Child Care
  12. LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program)
  13. Lifeline (Obama Phone)

As if those welfare programs aren’t enough, the Left have been floating the idea of a Universal Basic Income (UBI).

UBI is no longer hypothetical, but is being realized in two California cities — Oakland and Stockton.

Lukas Mikelionis reports for Fox News, July 9, 2019, that in the San Francisco Bay Area city of Oakland, Y Combinator, a startup incubator, is giving out $1,500 a month to randomly selected residents. It’s expected the money will soon be distributed to 100 recipients with a prospect of expanding the program to 1,000 people who will receive $1,000 monthly.

Next year, the city of Stockton in California’s Central Valley will begin a pilot Universal Basic Income program, in which a hundred residents will receive $500 a month without conditions, i.e., recipients can spend the money on anything they want without any strings attached. After 18 months, a decision will be made on expanding the UBI across all of Stockton.

On how welfare recipients misspend taxpayer funds, see:

The Stockton UBI program’s utopian goal is to eventually ensure that no one in the city of 300,000 lives in “poverty”. How “poverty” is defined is unclear.

Stockton’s economy is in shambles — from foreclosures (the city was declared America’s foreclosure capital); millions in debt from expensive development projects to lure in tourism; a median household income nearly $8,000 lower than the national median; and as many as 1-in-4 residents living below the poverty line. The city declared bankruptcy in 2012.

Stockton’s Universal Basic Income experiment has financial backing from wealthy Silicon Valley moguls, including Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes, 34, whose Economic Security Project contributed $1 million to the project. Hughes told CNN: “It is such a fundamental idea behind America that if you work hard, you can get ahead, and you certainly don’t live in poverty. But that isn’t true today, and it hasn’t been true in the country for decades. I believe that unless we make significant changes today, the income inequality in our country will continue to grow and call into question the very nature of our social contract.”

But Hughes has no intention to extend his own money for the UBI program. Instead, he wants the government to fund UBI welfare from higher taxes on the “wealthy” and high-tech companies. See “Facebook co-founder: Tax the rich at 50% & give $500/month to low income earners to fix income inequality“.

Note: Chris Hughes is notorious for ruining The New Republic magazine, which he purchased a majority share of in 2012 as what the New York Times calls “a vanity project”. After mass departure of the magazine’s staff, he sold it 4 years later. Hughes is an open homosexual, married to Sean Eldridge, political director of Freedom to Marry. The couple bought a $2 million residence in New York’s 19th congressional district with the reported purpose of permitting Eldridge to run for the congressional seat there. Eldridge lost his 2014 bid for a congressional seat by 30 points. Following that and the mass resignation from The New Republic, The Daily Beast dubbed the two “America’s Worst Gay Power Couple”.

Other business moguls have endorsed the UBI idea, though mostly in rhetoric, including billionaire Richard Branson, entrepreneur Andrew Yang, Tesla’s Elon Musk, and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg. Musk wrote in a tweet last month: “Universal income will be necessary over time if AI takes over most human jobs.” Zuckerberg said in his May 2017 Harvard commencement speech: “We should explore ideas like universal basic income to make sure that everyone has a cushion to try new ideas.”

Others who have spoken out in favor of universal basic income, whether by name or in effect, are Senator Bernie Sanders (S-V) and Robert Reich, Bill Clinton’s Labor Secretary (source).

Both Sanders and Reich are millionaire socialists (an oxymoron!):

  • Bernie Sanders owns three homes, including a $600,000 lakeside summer home he purchased just 5 days after the end of the 2016 Democratic National Convention in which he betrayed his “useful idiot” supporters by enthusiastically endorsing Hillary Clinton. In June 2018, Newsweek reports that in 2017, for the second year in a row, Sanders made more than $1 million.
  • Robert Reich has an estimated net worth of $4 million.

It is the perverse nature of the Left to refuse to learn from precedents.

Finland experimented with UBI by giving €560 (US $657) per month to 2,000 unemployed working-age people. The program, however, came to an abrupt end in April after the Finnish government decided against continuing to fund the program. (The Guardian)

NXIVM: Leader approves of incest and gang rape; Allison Mack is a satanist

The case against sex cult NXIVM just keeps getting more troubling.

NXIVM (pronounced “Nexium”) is supposedly a marketing organization that offers self-help personal and professional development seminars, but is instead a sex cult that branded and enslaved willing women, as well as trafficked children.

Devotees of NXIVM paid thousands of dollars for seminars, wore colored sashes denoting their “rank,” spouted Scientology-like jargon, and literally bowed before founder-leader Keith Raniere, 57, as their “Vanguard.” Among supporters of NXIVM are:

  • Actresses Allison Mack, Linda Evans and Kristin Kreuk.
  • Seagram heiresses Sara and Clare Bronfman, who poured a fortune into NXIVM, reportedly $150 million.
  • Business mogul Richard Branson, BET co-founder Sheila Johnson, and Enron CEO Stephen Cooper. NXIVM held two “wild parties” on Branson’s private Caribbean island in 2007 and 2010, but Branson’s Virgin Management spokesman denies any association between Branson and NXIVM or its founder.
  • Family members of Mexican presidents Vicente Fox and Carlos Salinas.
  • Democrat politicos with connections to the Clintons: former surgeon general Antonia Novello, a Bill Clinton appointee; longtime Clinton friend-fund raiser Richard Mays, whom Bill Clinton appointed to the Arkansas Supreme Court; NXIVM lobbyist Doug Rutnik, father of Democrat Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (NY). At least three high-ranking NXIVM members —  the cult’s second in command Nancy Salzman, and the Bronfman sisters — are members of the Clinton Foundation’s Clinton Global Initiative.

Raniere didn’t just brand and molest adult women, he raped at least two minor females, aged 15 and 12. According to a DOJ detention memo to U.S. Magistrate Judge Steven Gold, Raniere also condones incest and gang rape. He told one slave that “incest is not wrong if the ‘victim’ is sexually aroused by the experience”. He also “questioned whether gang rape is bad if the person being raped has an orgasm.”

In March, Raniere was extradicted to the United States from a luxury villa in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he had been hiding with several women for the past 5 months. Allison Mack then took over as interim cult leader, until she herself was arrested on April 20, 2018. Mack had recruited women into NXIVM, whose pubic areas were branded with both her initials and Raniere’s as their willing sex slaves.

Mack’s unsealed indictment states the three charges for which she was arrested:

  1. Sex trafficking of children or by force, fraud or coercion.
  2. Conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of children or by force, fraud or coercion.
  3. Attempt to establish peonage, slavery, involuntary servitude, human trafficking.

When I reported Mack’s arrest in a post on April 21, I appended this quote at the bottom of her pic:

“The Devil may appear in the vesture of the Angel of Light.” –2 Corinthians 11:14

My instincts were right.

A sharp-eyed contributor to Voat, bobke, noticed the devil earrings Allison Mack was wearing in a Getty Image and enlarged them. The dangling pendant in the middle of the three rings is of Baphomet!

Allison Mack

Frank Parlato, a former NXIVM consultant who, for several months, had lived and worked with the cult, and communicated closely day and night with top NXIVM officials, claims to have evidence and information of other NXIVM crimes, including:

Hacking into people’s personal emails, phone records, and bank accounts; bribing Mexican judges and politicians; massive tax evasion; smuggling $10 million into the US in cash from Mexico; bringing illegal aliens across the border at Niagara Falls and then imprisoning them; allegations from victims of statutory rape; cover up of at least two suicides; engaging in a classic Klein Conspiracy to impede the function of the IRS, with more than 75 corporate entities and/or “shell” companies, with scores of shifting bank accounts; paying employees’ salaries and telling them not to pay income taxes – and even a possible admission of having people killed.

Meanwhile, the MSM continue their virtual black-out on reporting the NXIVM crimes, arrests and indictments.

Dalai Lama accepted $1M bribe to endorse NXIVM sex cult

NXIVM (pronounced “nexium”) is a marketing organization that offers self-help personal and professional development seminars. Founded in 1998 by former computer programmer Keith Rainere in Albany, NY, NXIVM’s president is Nancy Salzman, the two are referred to, respectively, as “Vanguard” and “Prefect”.

More than 12,000 people have attended NXIVM’s seminars between its founding in 1998 and 2010. The organization claims to have worked with more than 16,000 people in 30 countries. Among NXIVM’s clients are notables such as actresses Linda Evans (always a sucker for cults) and Kristin Kreuk and Allison Mack of the Smallville TV series; UK mogul Richard Branson; BET co-founder Sheila Johnson; former U.S. surgeon general Antonia Novello; Stephen Cooper of Enron; Ana Cristina Fox, daughter of former Mexican president and rabid anti-Trumper Vicente Fox; and Seagram heiresses Sara and Clare Bronfman who have plowed millions of dollars into NXIVM. In addition, the director of NXIVM in Mexico is Emiliano Salinas, son of former Mexican president Carlos Salinas.

But former members have exposed NXIVM as a sex cult. According to an  exposé by Barry Meier for The New York Times, members of a “secret sisterhood” of 70-80 women within NXIVM, including actress Allison Mack, are branded with Raniere’s initials (KR), referred to as “slaves”, blackmailed, and beaten with paddles. Women who wish to join the “sisterhood” are required to provide nude photos or other potentially damaging information about themselves.

NXIVM sex cult branding

Ryan Parry reports for the Daily Mail, January 24, 2018, that none other than the Dalai Lama was paid $1 million to travel to America to speak at a NXIVM event in Albany, New York in 2009. Attended by 3,000 of the cult’s followers, the Dalai Lama’s appearance was trumpeted by NXIVM as an endorsement and a “victory”. The Dalai Lama even honored cult leader Keith Raniere with a khata — a traditional Tibetan ceremonial scarf that symbolizes purity and compassion.

Daily Mail uncovered how NXIVM plotted to get the Dalai Lama to speak at the event, a scheme that involved Seagram heiress Sara Bronfman and Lama Tenzin Dhonden, the Dalai Lama’s effective ambassador (“personal emissary of peace”) to the U.S., who are said to have had an illicit affair. Tibetan monks are supposed to be celibate.

Dhonden arranged for Sara Bronfman and her sister Clare, as well as NXIVM president Nancy Salzman, to meet with the Dalai Lama in Dharmsala, India. There the women offered to make a contribution of more than $1 million, and invited “His Holiness” to New York to meet NXIVM leader Raniere.

However, after local media in Albany, NY, reported that the Dalai Lama was planning a four-day trip to the U.S. visiting prestigious colleges alongside “cult” leader Raniere, the Dalai Lam canceled the visit, concerned over the negative media attention. The Bronfman sisters flew back to India, this time with NXIVM leader Raniere in tow, to convince the Dalai Lama the press coverage was inaccurate. The Dalai Lama then agreed to attend a one-day NXIVM event as part of an already scheduled trip to the U.S. to visit Harvard University in Massachusetts.

On her blog, Sara Bronfman called the Dalai Lama’s change of mind a success: “After an onslaught of negative articles and powerful local personalities voicing their lack of support for his proposed visit, His Holiness postponed until the truth became evident. In the end the truth prevailed, but in the process we lost participants, money and good faith.”

In a YouTube video of the event held at the Palace Theater in Albany on May 6, 2009, the Dalai Lama was asked by someone in the audience about his canceled visit. “His Holiness” said about Raniere and NXIVM: “If you have done something wrong, you must accept, you must admit, change, make correction. If you have not done (anything wrong), make clear all these allegations (are untrue), truthfully, honestly, openly, transparently.”

Having said that, however, Raniere was called on stage and the Dalai Lama draped the khata — a symbol of purity and compassion — around the cult leader’s neck.

In February 2018, the Dalai Lama Trust removed Dhonden as its executive secretary, amid accusations of corruption, pending an investigation. Nor is there any report that the Dalai Lama has returned the $1+million “contribution”.

Richard Branson, billionaire Obama pal, accused of sexual assault

The Weinstein Effect continues.

Now it’s Richard Branson, 67, the English billionaire founder of the Virgin Group of more than 400 companies, including Virgin Atlantic airline.

Branson is pro European Union and anti Brexit. (See “Secret document kept truth about EU membership from Brits for 50 years“)

He is also a pal of Barack Obama, whom Branson invited for an extended holiday on his private Necker Island in the Caribbean after Obama (finally) left the White House. That was when this pic of gender-ambiguous Obama kite-surfing was taken.

James Beal, Simon Boyle and Chloe Mayer report for The Sun, Nov. 24, 2017, that singer Antonia Jenae, 44, said Sir Richard Branson “motorboated” her at an alcohol-fueled party in 2010 on the billionaire’s Necker Island — “burying his head” in her boobs and making a boat engine noise.

Jenae said Branson had been drinking but did not seem drunk, and that he also “begged” her to go topless.

Jenae, from Florida, is a backup singer in “superstar” Joss Stone‘s band, whom Branson invited to his home on Necker Island, which he’d bought when he was only 28 years old.

Jenae said:

“His behavior was disgusting. I feel like it was sexual assault. We were by the bar and he was saying bye to everyone. He came up to me and put his face in my breasts. He went ‘brrrrrr’ and just walked away. It was surreal, totally out of the blue. Joss and I were like, ‘What the hell was that?!’ Everyone was wondering why I wasn’t angry because I’m usually a firebrand. But I was just too shocked.

We’d spent the day chilling out, touring the island. We had lunch and dinner. We were in the pool and there was a big, beautiful statue of a goddess there with her boobs out. Richard Branson tried to get me to show him my boobs and I said: ‘No!’ I was wearing a one-piece swimsuit and at the time I was very heavy chested.”

Branson’s behavior was seen by Joss and other stunned onlookers. Jenae said she and Joss recorded a video shortly after to capture their astonishment. According to The Sun, “a source” confirmed that Joss remembers the incident.

Representatives of Branson released a statement denying any wrongdoing:

“Everyone appeared to enjoy their time on the island. Richard has no recollection of this matter and neither do his family and friends, who were with him on the island at the time. There would never have been any intention to offend or make anyone feel uncomfortable in any way and Richard apologises if anyone felt that way during their time on the island.”

Jenae says she is now speaking out following the Hollywood sex scandal because “This needs to stop. I want everyone else to know what Richard Branson did. I don’t want him to do this to anyone else. He is a man in a powerful position.”

In a CNN interview in October 2016, Branson said he’s terrified of the thought of Donald Trump becoming president of the United States because of “how dangerous it was to have somebody so vindictive in the White House,” and that he felt no choice but to speak out to “let people who believe that Trump is wonderful know that there is a side to Trump that is dangerous and rather unpleasant and certainly unforgiving.”

Branson also said “I don’t think he’s a great businessman” and that Trump’s “unpredictability would unsettle the markets”.

Below is an August 2017 Bloomberg graph showing the number of market highs divided by the number of years each president was in office (in Trump’s case, 0.53 years so far), ranked from highest to lowest:

What Michelle Obama said when she left the White House: “We’re free!”

Michelle_Obama

Girl bye…

That’s pretty much what I said, too.

From Daily Mail: When former President Barack Obama finished his term in the White House last January, his wife and First Lady, Michelle, exclaimed ‘We’re free’, according to Richard Branson’s new autobiography.

The former US leaders traveled down to the billionaire Virgin executive’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands shortly after Obama handed the White House over to President Donald Trump.

Upon greeting Branson on the Caribbean island, Michelle Obama told him, ‘We’re free’, and told his staff to call her and her husband by their first names rather than their formal titles.

‘It’s so nice to have my name back after eight years’, Branson recalled Michelle Obama saying in his new book, Finding My Virginity, which also mentions his other famous friends including Bill Gates and the late Nelson Mandela.

Branson said that at the end of their ten-day trip, the Obamas treated his staff to a thank you party. They were ‘dancing with us, getting the party going, making everybody feel at home and welcome’, Branson wrote in the book.

The vacation also marked Obama’s return to his love of watersports, activities he couldn’t participate in while he served as president. He learned how to kite surf while on the island and challenged Branson to see who could stay up the longest. The president won the challenge.

Michelle Obama spoke out about what life was like in the white house during a tech conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, last month. ‘It’s like being shot out of a cannon while drinking from a fire hydrant blind,’ she explained as she told of how she got used to her new way of living. ‘You have to tell The White House what kind of toilet paper you like. You don’t know where your forks are.’
