Ultrasound shows demon (?) in womb

An eerie ultrasound picture of an unborn baby has gone viral after the image was posted on imgur under the heading “A friend’s ultrasound. when you see it…”.

The image shows a strange looking figure next to the fetus — a grotesque creature with a horn on its head and breasts.

Ross Logan reports for the UK Mirror, Jan. 2, 2015, that the picture has been viewed more than 500,000 times since being uploaded a day ago, with opinion divided as to what the figure looks like, the most popular choices being a Hindu goddess, a mermaid or a demon.
There have been other strange things showing up on ultrasounds.
Last year, a woman claimed to see her dead grandfather dad kissing her unborn baby in a 4D scan:

Yvonne Spence and John Reynolds were shocked to spot a strange face in a 6-month scan of their unborn baby:

In July, a month before the movie Jurassic World hit cinemas, 29-year-old Leanne Sullivan was shocked to see what appeared to be a dinosaur photo-bombing her unborn baby girl.

In the case of Jon and Lindsay McHale, both 33, they believe the face on their baby Madison’s 4D scan is Jon’s grandmother Kathy.
When the London couple took home the scan of their first child, they noticed a face slowly appear and stay on the screen. Jon, a prison custody officer, said, “I like to think there is a relative watching over Madison and we think the face looks a lot like my grandma Kathy. We like to think it’s Madison’s guardian angel, watching over her.”
Madison is now six and likes to watch the video “with a big grin on her face”. Jon said when they went to his grandparents’ house, Madison “spoke of an old lady with white hair in the front room and on the stairs, just like her Great Nan Kath, even though she never met her”.

Are these strange ultrasound images mere pareidolia — a psychological phenomenon of our minds seeing a familiar pattern of something where none actually exists? What do you think?

Obama’s head on Mars?

The Daily Mail reports, Dec. 2, 2014, that Scott Waring of the UFO Sightings Daily blog discovered something right out of the Twilight Zone.

While looking at NASA images of Mars taken from the Spirit Rover’s Pancam ‘Everest’ panorama on October 1 to 3, 2005, Waring spotted what appears to be a strange rock that resembles a human head with a nose, chin, eyes and hair. He writes, “From the way its standing up I would say that it is a full statue, but is buried from the shoulders down.”

Another UFO enthusiast used a software program to “clean up” the image of the head. He writes on UFO Sightings Hotspot: “By cleaning the image in a software program, I discovered that this relic has an uncanny resemblance to the United States president, Barack Obama.”

Obama's head on Mars

The original image is taken from the Spirit Rover’s Pancam ‘Everest’ panorama, acquired on sols 620 to 622 (October 1 to 3, 2005) from a position in the Columbia Hills at the true summit of Husband Hill on the Martian surface.

The image was released online by NASA, and even turned into an interactive panorama.

[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A239ITIlews]

The summit region of Mars is a broad plateau about 100 meters (300 feet) above the surrounding plains of Gusev crater, consisting mostly of outcrop rocks and windblown drifts.

The image is the latest in a series claiming to show faces on Mars, the first of which is the notorious simian-like “Face on Mars” in the Cydonia region of the red planet.

In a video, Waring expresses bafflement that NASA used arrows to point out various features on the Mars landscape, including the head: “This rover found some objects and NASA was pointing them out with different arrows. I was just thinking ‘wow Nasa’s really not helping us at all find any of these objects on Mars’ and bam, there is an arrow pointing right to the face.”

NASA says the arrows are to point out different kinds of rocks on Mars.

So is the Obama head on Mars a phenomenon called pareidolia? — the psychological propensity of humans to see a pattern in random data?
But then I’m reminded of a post I did nearly 3 years ago, “Obama went to Mars?!,” Jan. 11. 2012.
There is an agency within the U.S. Department of Defense called the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, better known by its acronym DARPA.

Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, DARPA is charged with developing new military technology. The agency focuses on short-term (2 to 4 years) projects and is independent from other more conventional military R&D, reporting directly to senior Department of Defense management. DARPA has around 240 personnel and a budget of $3.2 billion. Since its founding in 1958, DARPA has been responsible for funding the development of many technologies that have had a major effect on the world, such as computer networking.
DARPA has six program offices, all of which report to the DARPA director. The current DARPA director (since 2009) is Regina E. Dugan.
Some of DARPA’s current active projects are:

DARPA (under its first name, ARPA) was created 1958 in response to the 1957 Soviet launching of Sputnik. Given its beginning and its mission to develop cutting-edge military technology, the news that two DARPA scientists claim they once served as chrononauts (time-traveling, universe-exploring government agents) may not be completely outlandish.
But what is outlandish is that the two scientists say they had been accompanied on a Mars mission by a teenage Barack Obama, then named Barry Soetoro.
Spencer Ackerman reports for science and technology magazine Wired, Jan. 3, 2012:

As a young man in the early 1980s, Obama was part of a secret CIA project to explore Mars. The future president teleported there, along with the future head of Darpa.
That’s the assertion, at least, of a pair of self-proclaimed time-traveling, universe-exploring government agents. Andrew D. Basiago and William Stillings insist that they once served as “chrononauts” at Darpa’s behest, traversing the boundaries of time and space. They swear: A youthful Barack Obama was one of them. […]
As “Barry Soetero,” the 19-year-old Obama was one of 10 youths selected to secretly teleport to and from Mars, forming a band of interplanetary Teen Titans. Regina Dugan, the director of Darpa, was another member.
Between 1981 and 1983, Obama is supposed to have visited Mars twice, by way of a teleportation chamber called a “jump room.” Basiago, a fellow chrononaut, told the website Exopolitics that he saw Obama “walk back to the jump room from across the Martian terrain.” To acknowledge his comrade, Obama is said to have told Basiago, “We’re here” — apparently, “with some sense of fatalism.”
It is not known what exactly Obama did on Mars. […] “Simply put, your task is to be seen and not eaten,” an elder chrononaut, retired Army Maj. Ed Dames, is alleged to have told a young Obama.

Wired’s Ackerman concluded his article with:

Officially, the White House says Obama never went to Mars.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Image of Mary in a tree trunk

mary in tree
From Codewit World News, Nov. 16, 2014:

The mysterious image of what many are calling a perfect likeness to the Virgin Mary can be seen on the side of tree located at the intersection between 3rd Street and Bridge Road in Polk City, Iowa. A Nov. 14 report by KCCI 8 News explains that the shape in the tree is about 6 feet tall. It has residents asking what it really means.
While many claim it is the likeness of the Virgin Mary … There are, of course, skeptics who claim the image on the tree is only an illusion. They claim people only see what they want to see.
According to a KEYE TV report, some are so taken with the image that they have begun to place flowers at the feet of what they believe is the image of Virgin Mary. In fact, some claim that this is a case of divine intervention. They believe that the image is a message from God.
Scientists and skeptics might claim the image is nothing more than a case of pareidolia where the human mind strives to make sense out of chaotic images and perceives them as something they are not. This typically means seeing human faces or human forms where none exists.

This is the iconic statue of Mary at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lourdes, France, where Mary had appeared to St. Bernadette and now a shrine of many miracles:

Rat on Mars?

A photo taken on Mars by NASA’s Curiosity rover is causing quite a stir because some see in it a Martian rat.
Mike Wall reports for SPACE.com, May 31, 2013, that UFO buffs spotted the purported “Mars rat” in a panoramic photo snapped in September 2012 by NASA’s Curiosity rover. Zooming in on a portion of the image reveals what appears to be a rodent crouching between two rocks, its nose to the ground.
Scott Waring wrote at UFO Sightings Daily: “It’s a cute rodent on Mars. Note its lighter-color upper and lower eyelids, its nose and cheek areas, its ear, its front leg and stomach. Looks similar to a squirrel camouflaged in the stones and sand by its colors.”
In an update to what he wrote last December, Waring even raised the possibility that NASA flew the rat to Mars secretly, as part of an experiment testing out the Red Planet’s ability to support life as we know it. “Why would they not tell us about it?” Waring wrote. “Because the squirrel would be expected to die eventually and that would get PETA [People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals] to fight against them in a court of law.”
The Mars rat has now gone viral, jumping from the pages of UFO Sightings Daily to more mainstream publications such as Discovery News, Fox News, and SPACE.com.
The rodent has even picked up its own Twitter account, @RealMarsRat. Just 49 people were following the rat as of Friday afternoon (May 31), but that’s still pretty good for a rodent.
Here’s the pic on Yahoo:
Mars ratHmm. That thing between the two rocks does look sorta like a rodent.
I enlarged the “rodent”:
Mars rat1Scientists say it’s highly unlikely that a rat, squirrel, lizard or any other organism could survive on the cold, dry Martian surface today, although the Red Planet may still be able to support microbial life in select underground pockets. They say the Martian rat is actually an example of a psychological phenomenon called pareidolia — the tendency of the human brain to perceive animals or other familiar shapes in vague or random images.
What do you think? LOL
Rats on Mars is nothing. I’m still waiting for a follow-up on that Wired magazine article about the two DARPA (DoD’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) scientists who claimed a teenage Obama had teleported to and back from Mars in a secret CIA project in the early 1980s. (See “Obama went to Mars?!,” Jan. 11, 2o12.)
Now that’s the real rat on Mars.

Angel over Florida

“For he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.” -Psalm 91:11

Angels appear in the Bible from the beginning to the end, from the Book of Genesis to the Book of Revelation.
On Wednesday, March 13, 2013, the day a new successor of St. Peter was elected, many southern Floridians saw an angel in the clouds above.
Laura Santos reports for WPTV Channel 5 in West Palm Beach, Florida, that while some, like Steve Massie, dismiss the cloud phenomenon as mere pareidolia, Cat Sunn sees it as a sign from Heaven: “The [new] Pope asked to pray for Him. God answered.”
Here are some of the photos of the angel taken by residents of South Florida. You decide!
