Financial Times names George Soros ‘Person of the Year’ for promoting globalism, elitism and open borders

Founded in 1888, Financial Times (FT) is an international daily newspaper, headquartered in London, with a special emphasis on business and economic news. In 2015, Acquired in 2015 by Nikkei Inc. for £844m ($1.32 billion), FT is considered the most important business read, reaching 36% of the business-financial population, 11% more than its main rival, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

Financial Times has just named George Soros “Person of the Year” — the ever-scheming financier who made his billionaire fortune in the wholly unproductive currency-speculation and hedge funds, and who, through his foundations, foments and funds every Leftist, western civilization-destroying machination and movement, from racial protests and the “migrant caravan” invasion of America, to Europe’s open-border policy for Muslim “migrants” and “refugees”. See:

In the words of the Financial Times, Soros is Person of the Year because he fights the “extreme right” “forces of nationalism and populism,” which is FT‘s way of commending him for championing the left, globalism and elitism.

FT also stoops low by flinging the all-purpose “anti-Semitic” label at critics of Soros, which effectively shields him from every and all criticism.

Below are excerpts from Roula Khalaf’s nauseatingly fawning article, “FT Person of the Year: George Soros,” Financial Times, Dec. 19, 2018:

For a man facing daily attacks for his activism and liberal vision of the world, George Soros was in a curiously buoyant mood on a sunswept afternoon in Marrakesh. He had just visited South Africa, home to his first philanthropic foray in the late 1970s, when he funded black students under apartheid. This time he learnt that Soros-backed investigative media and civil society groups had helped thwart an allegedly corrupt nuclear power plant contract with Russia.

“It was a tremendous boost to reinforce my belief that we are doing something right,” says Mr Soros. “We haven’t stopped having a beneficial influence.”

Influence has come at a painfully high cost for the 88-year-old father of the hedge fund industry and one of the world’s most prominent philanthropists. From his native Hungary to his adopted America, the forces of nationalism and populism are battering the liberal democratic order he has tirelessly supported. The man once described as the only individual with a foreign policy must contend with the rise of strongmen across the globe — and a vicious backlash designed to delegitimise him.

The Financial Times’s choice of Person of the Year is usually a reflection of their achievements. In the case of Mr Soros this year, his selection is also about the values he represents.

He is the standard bearer of liberal democracy and open society. These are the ideas which triumphed in the cold war. Today, they are under siege from all sides, from Vladimir Putin’s Russia to Donald Trump’s America.

For more than three decades, Mr Soros has used philanthropy to battle against authoritarianism, racism and intolerance. Through his long commitment to openness, media freedom and human rights, he has attracted the wrath of authoritarian regimes and, increasingly, the national populists who continue to gain ground, particularly in Europe….

There are so many anti-Semitic conspiracy theories targeting Mr Soros that it is difficult to keep count. Hardly a day goes by without a statement, a tweet or an image depicting him as a master manipulator of global politics.

The venom, long concealed among extreme right networks, has leaked into the mainstream: Mr Trump, who resents Mr Soros’ support for the Democrats, has peddled allegations that he funded the caravan of central American migrants, claims that have appeared to have partly inspired the October attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Earlier that month, Mr Soros was the first in a series of Trump critics targeted with an explosive device sent to his suburban New York home. “I have been painted as the devil. The fact that extremists are motivated by false conspiracy theories about me to kill hurts me tremendously,” says Mr Soros. […]

In his twilight years, Mr Soros is looking beyond his formidable legacy. Having originally planned that his foundation would last his lifetime, he completed the transfer last year of $18bn from his family office to the Open Society Foundations. That reduced his fortune to $8bn, according to Forbes magazine, but ensured that his activism would take on a life of its own. And he has found a successor in philanthropy: his son, Alexander. “We fight for principles, we fight irrespective of the results, win or lose,” he says. And, almost as an afterthought, he says: “I don’t like to lose so much.”

About Soros’ son and heir, Alexander, see “George Soros’ son, Alex, is a ‘spirit cooker’?“.

By the way, the “explosive device” sent to Soros’ suburban New York home was a false flag. See “How we know package bombs sent to Democrats are false flags” and “Cesar Sayoc, package bomber: The pieces that don’t fit”.

What happened to Cesar Sayoc, about whom we’ve heard nothing since his supposed arrest?

Nancy Pelosi had to change phone number after receiving scores of obscene and sick calls

Last Friday night, the Romanian hacker Guccifer 2.0 posted an excel spreadsheet on his blog – obtained from hacking the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee – which includes the personal cell phone number, physical and email address, as well as full personal information of some 200 congressional Democrats.

The next day, Saturday, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said she had to change her cell phone number after receiving “scores of mostly obscene and sick calls, voicemails and text messages.” Pelosi added that she was on a flight from Florida to California when the information was released, and received the unwanted messages upon landing.
I really shouldn’t laugh, but I just can’t help it.

Pelosi said the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has hired a cybersecurity technology firm to investigate the breach, which she termed “an electronic Watergate break-in” and that the Capitol Police were looking at any threats posed by the release.
Meanwhile, just 24 hours after Guccifer 2.0 posted the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee spreadsheet on Guccifer 2.0’s WordPress account, the Democrats are bracing for even more hacked documents being released. Another site, DCLeaks.com, released internal records from George Soros’s Open Society Foundations.
U.S. officials insist the Guccifer 2.0 and DCLeaks hacks, as well as the hacked DNC and Hillary emails posted by WikiLeaks, are the work of Russian intelligence services, although the Obama administration has yet to show any evidence to substantiate the allegations.
Rep. Jim Himes (D., Conn.), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said in an interview on Sunday: “I certainly believe that this is a coordinated Russian effort against the U.S. political process. It’s an act of hostility by a foreign power.”
U.S. officials are now debating whether to publicly accuse Putin’s government of the hacks, which could escalate a potential case of cyberwar between the U.S. and Moscow.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took orders from George Soros on how to handle unrest in Albania

Some in the Alternative Media say that presidential candidates and even presidents are selected by and serve at the pleasure of powerful élites behind the scenes — The Powers That Be (TPTB).
Now an email has surfaced from the time when Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State in the Obama administration which gives credence to that penultimate conspiracy theory. The email was released by WikiLeaks.
The email, dated January 24, 2011, was from Jacob J. Sullivan to Hillary Clinton, on the unrest in Albania — a former Soviet-bloc country in Eastern Europe which became the Republic of Albania in April 1991.

Note: Despite his relatively young age of 39, Jacob Jeremiah “Jake” Sullivan is a long-time Democratic Party apparatchik, with close associations with Hillary Clinton. He was Hillary’s deputy chief of staff when she was Secretary of State; deputy policy director for Hillary’s 2008 presidential campaign; deputy assistant to President Barack Obama; national security adviser to Vice President Joe Biden; and currently the top foreign policy adviser in Hillary’s 2016 presidential election campaign. Sullivan is widely rumored to be a front-runner for the position of U.S. National Security Adviser in a Hillary Clinton administration if she is elected President this November.

Hillary Clinton & Jake SullivanSullivan’s email to Hillary consists of a forwarded email from George Soros, the billonaire international financier and currency speculator who funds and foments protests in the U.S., as well as the refugee invasion of Europe. (See “‘Arab Spring’ in America: NAACP joins Soros-funded coalition for massive protests in D.C.,” “List of persons/groups paid by Soros to protest in Ferguson & Selma,” and “Soros aids invasion of Christian Europe by Muslim refugees, says Hungary prime minister”.)
Soros had sent the email addressed to Hillary to his Open Society Foundations flunky, special adviser Jonas Rolett, who forwarded it to then-assistant secretary of state for legislative affairs Richard R. Verma, who forwarded it to Jacob “Jake” Sullivan.
Here’s a screenshot of the PDF of Jake Sullivan’s email. I provided the red color emphasis.
Soros email to Hillary Clinton 2011Here’s the text of Soros’ email to Hillary, dated January 23, 2011:

Dear Hillary:
A serious situation has arisen in Albania which needs urgent attention at senior levels of the US government. You may know that an opposition demonstration in Tirana on Friday resulted in the deaths of three people and the destruction of property. There are serious concerns about further unrest connected to a counter-demonstration to be organized by the governing party on Wednesday and a follow-up event by the opposition two days later to memorialize the victims. The propect of tens of thousands of people entering the streets in an already inflamed political environment bodes ill for the return of public order and the country’s fragile democratic process.
I believe two things need to be done urgently:
1. Bring the full weight of the international community to bear on Prime Minister Berisha and opposition leader Edi Rama to forestall further public demonstrations and to tone down public pronouncements.
2. Appoint a senior European official as mediator.
While I am concerned about the rhetoric being used by both sides, I am particularly worried about the actions of the Prime Minister. There is videotape of National Guard members firing on demonstrators from the roof of the Prime Ministry. The Prosecutor (appointed by the Democratic Party) has issued arrest warrants for the individual in question. The Prime Minister had previously accused the opposition of intentionally murdering these activists as a provocation. After the tape came out deputies from his party accused the Prosecutor of planning a coup d’etat in collaboration with the opposition, a charge Mr. Berisha repeated today. No arrests have been made as of this writing.
The demonstration resulted from opposition protests over the conduct of parliamentary elections in 2009. The political environment has deteriorated ever since and is now approaching levels of 1997, when similar issues caused the country to slide into anarchy and violence. There are signs that Edi Rama’s control of his own people is slipping, which may lead to further violence.
The US and the EU must work in complete harmony over this, but given Albania’s European aspirations [to become a member of EU] the EU must take the lead. That is why I suggest appointing a mediator such as Carl Bildt, Martti Ahtisaari or Miroslav Lajcak, all of whom have strong connections to the Balkans.
My foundation in Tirana is monitoring the situation closely and can provide independent analysis of the crisis.
Thank you,
George Soros

Note that in his email, Soros — who was neither elected nor appointed to conduct U.S. foreign policy — instructed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that:

  1. Albania’s Prime Minister Berisha must be brought under control.
  2. The unrest in Albania requires a mediator.
  3. The mediator should be an European, e.g., Carl Bildt, Martti Ahtisaari or Miroslav Lajcak.

Sure enough, on January 26, 2011, two days after Jake Sullivan forwarded Soros’ email to Hillary, EUbusiness reported that:

Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha on Wednesday [January 26] cancelled a planned weekend rally of pro-government supporters after talks with a European Union mediator….
Berisha’s decision came after a meeting with EU Balkans envoy Miroslav Lajcak who arrived earlier in the day to mediate the growing political crisis.
Apart from Berisha, Lajcak also met President Bamir Topi and was to due to have talks with opposition leader Edi Rama.

In other words, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton followed George Soros’ instructions to the letter.
Now we know who’s Hillary’s puppeteer.
