Unreal: New Jersey ISIS recruiter gets just 48 months behind bars

The good judge…

You want to know how old the judge in this case is? He was appointed by Lyndon B. Johnson. Yes, Lyndon B. Johnson. The good judge is 97 years old.

From NY Post: A Brooklyn federal judge Wednesday sentenced an admitted ISIS recruiter and failed government cooperator to only 48 months behind bars — despite prosecutors’ requests that the New Jersey woman serve 30 to 50 years for her crimes.

The lenient sentence from Judge Jack Weinstein means Sinmya Amera Ceasar, who’s already served 29 months, will walk free in just over a year and a half following her guilty pleas to charges of providing material support to ISIS and obstruction of justice.

“I was used by people when I was confused,” Ceasar told the court ahead of sentencing. “I wasn’t drawn into it by violence.”

“I’m not blaming others, I’m blaming myself,” she said.

The “wounded animal” aka terrorist supporter

Prosecutors Josh Hafetz and Ian Richardson spent the past three days arguing that Ceasar, who called herself “Umm Nutella,” was still a danger to society after she flouted a 2016 cooperation agreement with the feds and kept talking to fellow jihadists online.

Yet Weinstein disagreed. “It’s apparent that this young woman is in need of serious educational, medical, and economic support,” the judge said in explaining the low sentence. “This sentence will also save her as a human being.”

“She’s like a wounded animal,” defense attorney Deirdre von Dornum said of her client, who was repeatedly sexually abused as a child. “Her life has been ruined, but there’s hope for her.”

Lock him up: Ex-DC demorat staffer admits to doxing republicans, threatening witness

The “democratic political professional student” worked for U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and previously worked for Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA). He also previously worked or was an intern with the office of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA).

As reported by NY Post: A former Democratic congressional staffer pleaded guilty Friday to federal charges after he posted leaked personal information about Republican senators on Wikipedia, then threatened a witness who caught him.

Jackson Cosko, 27, of the District of Columbia, pleaded guilty to five offenses related to his “doxing” the senators — uploading their personal information online — including computer fraud, making public restricted personal information, witness tampering and obstruction of justice.

Prosecutors said he went after the lawmakers after one senator fired him and he got upset with the others while watching testimony on sexual assault allegations during Supreme Court justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings.

His targets included GOP Senate Judiciary Committee members Lindsey Graham, Mike Lee and Orrin Hatch, as well as Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul.

He faces nearly five years in prison when he is sentenced June 13.

ICE deports Kazakhstani man convicted of concealing evidence for Boston Marathon bombers

Bye, bye you terrorist supporter!

Our country and the safety of our citizens matter. Good riddance!

From ICE press release dated 11/01/18:

DALLAS — Officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) removed a Kazakhstani man on Oct. 23 who was previously convicted for concealing criminal evidence for one of the Boston Marathon bombers.

Dias Muratovich Kadyrbayev, 24, a citizen of Kazakhstan, was convicted June 2, 2015, of conspiracy to obstruct justice and obstruction of justice for removing and disposing of incriminatory items from Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s dorm room. Tsarnaev was later convicted and sentenced to death for his role in the Boston Marathon bombing that killed three innocent bystanders, and subsequently two police officers.

Kadyrbayev’s crimes are considered aggravated felonies under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). Kadyrbayev was sentenced to six years in federal prison at the Federal Correctional Institute in Big Spring, Texas (FCI Big Spring). Under federal law, aliens convicted of an aggravated felony are subject to removal and barred from returning to the United States.

Kadyrbayev departed the U.S. by commercial air on Oct. 23 and was released from ICE custody on Oct. 24 at the Almaty International Airport, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, without incident.

On Oct. 13, 2016, ERO Dallas lodged an immigration detainer with the Bureau of Prisons on Kadyrbayev and on Feb. 15, 2018, served him with a final administrative order of removal.

On Aug. 29, 2018, FCI Big Spring transferred custody of Kadyrbayev to ERO Dallas at the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas. Kadyrbayev remained in ICE custody until he was removed under ICE escort on Oct. 23.
