Please pray for this 3 y.o. persecuted Christian boy

Dear friends and readers of FOTM:
Did you know that your Christian brothers and sisters are persecuted and martyred throughout the world?
In fact, we are living in the greatest tribulation-time in Christian history.
The most common request of persecuted Christians is “PRAY FOR US.”
That’s why I signed up at a website of the Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) called I Commit To Pray, which sends me sometimes daily email notifications of someone in the world who needs our prayers.

Weng Goodluck TshuaLittle Weng in his special prosthetic shoes

Yesterday, I received an email to pray for a precious little boy in Nigeria, whose name is Weng Goodluck Tshua. Since its independence from Great Britain in 1960, Nigeria has not had one day of peace, but remains a country bitterly divided between northern Muslims of the Hausa-Fulani tribes and Christians in the south.
In March 2010, when Weng was just three weeks old, Fulani  Muslims attacked his village in Dogo Nahawa, Nigeria. His mother, father, and seven other members of his family were among the 501 Christians who were killed in the attack.
The attackers set numerous houses and buildings on fire, including Weng’s house. Someone pulled him out in order to save his life, but his feet had already been consumed by the flames.
As he grew up, Weng could not learn to walk or run. In Sept. 2013, a Voice Of the Martyrs prosthetics team created a specialized pair of prosthetic shoes that have given Weng a new perspective. The shoes have three inner-layers that can be removed as he grows up. The medical team will return in time to create a new pair of shoes.
Today, the happy three-year-old has learned to take his first steps.
Please take a minute out of your day and say a prayer for little Weng. I’m offering my day to Weng — that our Lord Jesus the Christ sends His angels to cover this little boy with their wings of protection, comfort, and love
(Note: Voice of the Martyrs prayer requests will be a regular feature on Fellowship of the Minds.)

Islamic True-Believers Blow Up Nigerian Christians on Christmas Day

Via bloomberg.com:
The Obama administration promised to help Nigeria find the people responsible for a wave of Christmas Day bombings that killed dozens in the oil-rich African nation.
“We have been in contact with Nigerian officials about what appear to be terrorist acts and pledge to assist them in bringing those responsible to justice,” according to a statement by White House Press Secretary Jay Carney.
Boko Haram, a Muslim sect, reportedly claimed responsibility for the attacks — two of which targeted churches. A year ago, the group said it was behind holiday bombings that killed more than 90.
The first explosion occurred as services were ending at St. Theresa’s Church near the capital, Abjua. Yemi Ajayi, a police spokesman, said at least 20 people were killed.
Another blast, at a church in the central city of Jos, capital of Plateau state, killed a policeman, said Pam Ayuba, a spokesman for the state government.
A suspected suicide-bomber rammed a car into the entrance of the State Security Service building in the northeastern city of Damaturu, killing four people and the bomber, Victor Ebhaleme, a spokesman for the military task force in charge of security in the region, said by phone from Maiduguri.
You will find the full article here.
And I am just sure a spokes-mouth for CAIR is going to step up to a microphone and condemn these heinous acts any minute now.
Right, and any minute now the doorbell will ring, and when I open the front door a suitcase full of money is going to be awaiting me.

Message From Vine Akim

An Internet cafe in Lagos, Nigeria

Fellowship of the Minds just received this e-mail from “Vine Akim” with the subject of the e-mail being “President Obama confirms bin Laden is dead“:

(vinakim3@yahoo.co.uk) has sent you a message
Personal message text:
I'm Vine Akim, Special Aid on English to Laurent Gbagbo
of Ivory-Coast, He [bin Laden] is captured and his funds
in a security firm is $15,000,000 for onward transfer. .
Contact me for detail. 15% for you.
Akim.

Here’s Fellowship’s response:

Dear Mr. Akim, sweltering in an Internet café somewhere in Lagos,

Thank you for your kind offer to give us 15% of Osama bin Laden’s $15,000,000 that is held in a security firm. Being good Christians, we on the Fellowship of the Minds must decline your most generous offer as your country Nigeria — one of the world’s poorest countries — surely needs the $2,250,000 more than we do. Please be so kind as to take that sum out of the account in that security firm and give it to the poor of Nigeria!

Jihad Bells

Muslims say that while they do not believe Jesus Christ is God, they do respect Him because they believe Jesus, like Mohammad, was a prophet. Given that, one would think that Muslims could restrain themselves on Jesus the holy prophet’s feastday.
Not!
These are some of things that followers of the “Religion of Peace” did on Christmas 2010:
On December 24, five blasts went off in the Nigerian city of Jos, as residents were celebrating Christmas Eve, leaving 31 dead.
The next day, December 25, a bomb exploded during Christmas Day Mass at a chapel in southern Philippines, wounding a priest and 10 churchgoers. In Pakistan, a female suicide bomber detonated her explosives-laden vest in a food-aid distribution center, killing at least 43 people. The bombing is the first suicide attack staged by a woman in Pakistan. (H/t Atlas Shrugs)
