Bloomberg’s C40 Cities group of mayors: Goal is to build a more “sustainable” and “fairer” society during Wuhan virus recovery

On Thursday Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan tweeted the following:

“I am proud to be part of @c40cities and to serve on the #COVID19 recovery task force. We know that it is going to take all of us working together to keep our residents healthy, support our workers and businesses, and rebuild our economy better than before.”

She included this tweet from something called C40 Cities:

“Today, C40 mayors released a statement of principles
to build a better, more sustainable and fairer society out of the recovery from the #COVID19 crisis
. https://bit.ly/COVIDTaskForce”

The Twitter bio of C40 Cities: C40 connects 96 of the world’s leading cities taking bold climate action to build #TheFutureWeWant. Their Twitter page brags of #InThisTogether.

What is C40 Cities (known as C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group)? From Wikipedia:

“The C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group is a group of 96 cities around the world that represents one twelfth of the world’s population and one quarter of the global economy. Created and led by cities, C40 is focused on tackling climate change and driving urban action that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and climate risks, while increasing the health, wellbeing and economic opportunities of urban citizens.

As of 2019, Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti serves as the C40’s Chairperson, former Mayor of New York City Michael R. Bloomberg as President of the Board, and Mark Watts as Executive Director. All three work closely with the 13-member Steering Committee, the Board of Directors and professional staff. The rotating Steering Committee of C40 mayors provides strategic direction and governance. Steering Committee members include: Amman, Boston, Copenhagen, Durban, Hong Kong, Jakarta, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Milan, Paris, Seoul, and Tokyo.”

Which mayors have formally endorsed the Statement of Principles by the Global Mayors COVID-19 Recovery Task Force? The expected libtard suspects: Stephen Adler (Austin), Bill de Blasio (NYC), London Breed (San Francisco), Jenny Durkan (Seattle), Sadiq Khan (London), Lori Lighfoot (Chiraq), Martin Walsh (Boston), and Ted Wheeler (Portland).

The task force’s web page includes the following standard progressive talking points: equitable, sustainable, fairer, social equity, etc.

It is clear that the harm caused by COVID-19 has not been equitable. We, as leaders of major cities across the globe, are clear that our ambition should not be a return to ‘normal’ – our goal is to build a better, more sustainable, more resilient and fairer society out of the recovery from the COVID-19 crisis.

The recovery, above all, must be guided by an adherence to public health and scientific expertise, in order to assure the safety of those who live in our cities.

The recovery must address issues of equity that have been laid bare by the impact of the crisis – for example, workers who are now recognised as essential should be celebrated and compensated accordingly and policies must support people living in informal settlements.

Climate action can help accelerate economic recovery and enhance social equity, through the use of new technologies and the creation of new industries and new jobs. These will drive wider benefits for our residents, workers, students, businesses and visitors.”

As with most progressive tactics, their goal (transfer of wealth via equity) is never aligned with the real issue (economic recovery). Never let this Wuhan virus crisis go to waste.

If you don’t own a firearm (or two, three, four) no worries: The police are just minutes away…

The Wuhan virus worldwide epidemic, caused by the Chicoms and enabled by our DNC-run media, has spurred a unique phenomenon: U.S. law-abiding citizens are ordered to stay home while criminals are going free.

See the following examples:

Philly Police: No Arrests for Auto Theft, Burglary, Vandalism, and more, over Coronavirus
NYC to begin releasing inmates amid coronavirus outbreak
U.S. judge widens order, urging ICE to release migrant illegal alien families with young children in coronavirus outbreak
Ohio jail to release hundreds of inmates amid coronavirus concerns
Some non-violent, low-level inmates being released from Sacramento jails amid coronavirus pandemic

The left tell you that you don’t need a gun to protect yourself. After all, you can just vomit or pee on an intruder to stop them!

GOOD LUCK with that, my friend…

Keep ‘em locked and loaded. Because our Americans streets are about to get very, very dangerous.

Illinois mayor can ban booze and guns under coronavirus emergency act

Deborah Feinen using her powers…

Yeah, that won’t cause a panic. Oh, and they have ZERO confirmed cases in the city. Never let a crisis go to waste…

From NY Post: The Second Amendment be damned! At least an Illinois mayor seems to think so.

In an executive order, Champaign Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen declared a coronavirus emergency — not one case yet in the city of 87,500 — and included ordinances that let her ban the sale of firearms and ammunition as well as booze.

“None of the options will necessarily will be implemented but are available in order to protect the welfare and safety of our community if needed,” city Communications Manager Jeff Hamilton told local NBC affiliate WAND-TV.

Feinen let it be known that she is in charge. “So many of those powers, I have had from the beginning,” Feinen told WAND-TV. “All we have done is enumerate them and now the public is aware of them. So, I am the liquor commissioner. I can shut down bars yesterday, I could have shut them down two years ago. Nothing has changed with respect to that, it is just that we have laid it out, so people are aware of that. In respect to the other items that are listed in the attachment, they have been listed in the city code for 15 years.”
