Watch the GOP Presidential Debate – Then Vote!

Last night, in New Hampshire, the first “shot” was fired in the 2012 GOP presidential primary contest.

Seven Republicans took part in the first debate of the 2012 presidential election. In alphabetical order, they are: Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (Minn,), businessman Herman Cain, spendthrift and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Texas Congressman Ron Paul, Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, and former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum.

Let the GOP Know Who’s Your Choice for 2012

No RINOs !!!!!!!!!!!

Let the Republican Party know whom you want to run for the presidency in 2012. Vote in this poll.

It’s a quick poll, with 10-11 questions.

One of the potential candidates about whom I know very little is Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, who recently announced his candidacy to be the GOP’s 2012 presidential nominee. So I looked him up on Wikipedia. You, too, can find out more about Pawlenty by going HERE.

Pawlenty’s strong suit (in contrast to Herman Cain and Allen West) is that he has executive experience, being in his second term as governor. He also appears to be a social and fiscal conservative. In the end, however, I decided against him because of two main reasons:

  1. Pawlenty was so much a RINO John McCain supporter that he served as a national cochair of McCain’s presidential exploratory committee in 2007, which led to Pawlenty becoming cochairman of McCain’s presidential campaign in 2008.
  2. A 2011 white paper by the Club for Growth, analyzing Pawlenty as a presidential candidate, found his political stance difficult to identify. The group praised him for reduced growth in spending and taxation, but found that he “has some simply inexcusable tax hikes in his record” and questioned his support of proposals such as “mandatory vegetable oil in gasoline, cap and trade, and a statewide smoking ban.” Chris Edwards, a director at the libertarian thinktank, Cato Institute, speculated that Pawlenty’s rightward tack in his second term was related to his impending presidential run.

Go vote for your choice to be the GOP’s nominee in 2012! CLICK HERE.

Do it now, because the poll ends on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.

H/t beloved fellow Tina.
