Walgreens to close seventh San Francisco store due to looting without consequences

Demorats never learn.

In 2014 California voters approved Prop 47 which downgraded certain felonies to misdemeanors. Significantly, the new measure mandated that any theft below $950 would be a misdemeanor.

Last year they elected the radical district attorney Chesa Boudin. Chesa is the son of Weather Underground terrorists Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert who were arrested for their role as getaway car drivers in the Brink’s robbery of 1981 in Rockland County, New York. After Chesa’s parents were incarcerated (when he was 14 months old) fellow Weather Underground terrorists Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dorhn adopted Chesa.

One of Chesa’s goals was to “tackle racial bias in the criminal justice system and overhaul the bail system.”

Thanks to progressive reforms and elected officials, San Francisco is losing ANOTHER Walgreens due to there being no consequences for criminal actions.

MSN reports that after months of seeing its shelves repeatedly cleaned out by brazen shoplifters, the Walgreens at Van Ness and Eddy in San Francisco is getting ready to close.

This is the seventh Walgreens to close in the city due to rampant looting.

More from the MSN story:

“All of us knew it was coming. Whenever we go in there, they always have problems with shoplifters,” said longtime customer Sebastian Luke, who lives a block away and is a frequent customer who has been posting photos of the thefts for months. The other day, Luke photographed a man casually clearing a couple of shelves and placing the goods into a backpack.

“I feel sorry for the clerks, they are regularly being verbally assaulted,” Luke said. “The clerks say there is nothing they can do. They say Walgreens’ policy is to not get involved. They don’t want anyone getting injured or getting sued, so the guys just keep coming in and taking whatever they want.”

A recent trip to the store revealed aisle after aisle of empty or near-empty shelves. Beauty supplies appear to be a favored target.”

Why do the thefts continue?

“Under California law, theft of less than $950 in goods is treated as a nonviolent misdemeanor. The maximum sentence for petty theft is six months in county jail. But most of the time the suspect is released with conditions attached.

Great job, San Francisco. You’ve elected demorats and voted for progressive policies that allow the homeless and criminals to destroy your local businesses. Way to improve public safety!

Chaos by the Bay: The Truth About Homelessness in San Francisco

Christophe Rufo does an in-depth exploration into the homelessness problem of San Francisco.

A demorat-run city where they spend $1 BILLION a year trying to “solve” homelessness. Here’s their results:

It’s a problem that will not be solved anytime soon with progressives in charge.

Rufo sums it up pretty well: This is the tragic irony of San Francisco. The city’s leaders denounce inequality around the world but have created a system of incredible inequality and incredible cruelty. And utlimately, the city’s policies are killing people.”

SF Mayor Breed: I’m a black woman before a mayor; we need allies, not slave owners

Mayor London Breed

San Francisco Mayor London Breed had some interesting things to say at some recent rally and protests. She sounded a little racist to me. But maybe that’s just my white privilege interpretation.

San Francisco Public Press tweeted out snippets of her comments:

“Mayor London Breed tells City Hall protesters she got into office to make real change. “I am hurting like I have never hurt before.”

“Mayor Breed: “We need you to be allies and stop telling black leaders, if you are not black, what the hell to do. I know what to do when it comes to my community. I don’t need a co-signer. I don’t need a slave owner telling me what to do.

She also said this:

Yes, I’m the mayor, but I’m a black woman first.

“But I want to say one thing. I want to say one thing, black lives matter is nobody’s joke. I’m tired of people treating it that way, I’m tired of people masking their racism in black lives matter. It is not a joke, it is not a joke. It is born out of pain, it is born out of racism that we are going to fight against, it is born out of our struggle, our blood, sweat, and tears, for all that we have struggled through in this country. Don’t get it twisted, it is not a joke.”

You can read the full transcript here from the June 1 event.

What does that mean exactly, “I’m a black woman first?”

Does Breed have a loyalty to her race and gender that takes priority above her oath as mayor?

And who exactly is a slaver owner in 2020?

Does she plan to put the priorities of “her community” before that of Hispanics? Whites? Any other race?

Apparently what it means is a reform of the policing community due to “a lack of equity in our society overall [that] leads to a lot of the problems that police are being asked to solve.”

The LA Times reports that Breed has several solutions to police reform to address the lack of societal equity that exists in San Francisco. Oddly enough, San Francisco’s societal inequity and racism hasn’t been solved since 1964, the last time there was a republican mayor of San Francisco. Guess Mayor Breed is going to be the one to finally solve systemic racism in San Francisco.

That includes the following police reforms:

• Ban the use of military-grade weapons against unarmed citizens (I suppose the police are to have X-ray vision to determine if someone is conceal carrying.)
Incorporate testing for bias and potential for abuse of force
• “Reel-back” the release of booking photos

Course the police will most likely have less encounters with citizens as the mayor’s reform includes replacing police with “trained, unarmed professionals to respond to calls for help on noncriminal matters involving mental health, the homeless, school discipline and neighbor disputes.”

Read about all of the mayor’s proposed reforms here.

You’d think that more than $12 BILLION dollars spent in the last fiscal year would have been enough to end the homeless problem and respond to their needs (which has included medical, social and psychological services; education and outreach services).

I’m sure that re-allocating funds from the police department to address noncriminal issues will solve all of San Francisco’s societal and racial problems. If after 50 years the demorats haven’t been able to fix their problems, I’m sure this black woman knows exactly what to do when it comes to her community. No joke.

Pandering: Obama says every country should be run by a woman

The Hill published an article yesterday in which former President Obama said the following:

“I’m absolutely confident that for two years if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything… living standards and outcomes.”

According to Obama, women are “undisputably better leaders.”

One could find a great woman leader in the US and around the world yet let’s take a look at some US women leaders to see if their constituents have seen a “significant improvement” on just about everything, shall we?

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan: A city run amok with homeless criminals, drug needles, repeat offenders, and downtown businesses closing due to criminal activity and inefficient police response times (if they actually respond).

Liberal utopia of Seattle/Q13 Fox photo

Seattle Socialist Council Member Kshama Sawant: While the city is overrun by homeless criminals and repeat offenders, this councilmember whines that a record $6.5 BILLION budget isn’t enough to address deep inequality and racism. As if THAT will improve living standards.

The streets of San Francisco…

San Francisco Mayor London Breed: I don’t need to detail all the problems in San Francisco. Everyone knows it is LITERALLY a sh*thole of a city.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown: Just like other west coast, progressive-run cities, Portland has a major problem with the homeless and their criminal activities. But here’s another bonus under the womyn governor: The state was ranked 49th in U.S. graduation rate in 2017.

The street of LA…

Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor District 1 Representative Hilda Solis: Los Angeles saw a 12% increase in homelessness despite spending $619M in tax payer dollars. Bonus: Typhus and leprosy!

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf: A city that has obtained $9 million taxpayer dollars to build affordable housing yet has delivered ZERO units. Yet if you are an illegal alien you’re entitled to early warnings so you can avoid ICE raids.

While there are some brilliant women leaders around the world, to state that every nation would thrive under the leadership of women is just flat-out inaccurate. Especially if they are a “progressive” woman.

Liberal Utopia: San Francisco residents put heavy boulders on sidewalk to keep homeless away

Neighbors lodged 300 complaints with the city during the last three months and the bureaucrats took no action. So the neighbors pooled their money to purchase boulders to deter crime and drug use by the homeless.

In 2016 the city of San Francisco spent over $240 MILLION on homeless. Yet residents still have to cough up more money in order to get some peace and quiet on their streets.

Unbelievable…

SF mayor says President Trump’s remarks on used needles “pouring into the ocean” is ridiculous

Mayor London Breed

Someone may want to tell the good mayor that needles wash into oceans from the beaches and other land areas. But that would mean she’d have to acknowledge what a sh*thole her city has become.

From SF Gate: San Francisco Mayor London Breed called President Donald Trump’s claim that used drug needles are pouring into the ocean “ridiculous” in a statement Wednesday night.

At the tail end of his California visit on Wednesday, Trump threatened to unleash the Environmental Protection Agency on San Francisco, accusing the city of allowing massive amounts of waste, including needles, to go through storm drains into the ocean.

“It’s a terrible situation that’s in Los Angeles and in San Francisco,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One returning to Washington. “And we’re going to be giving San Francisco — they’re in total violation — we’re going to be giving them a notice very soon.”

“They have to clean it up. We can’t have our cities going to hell,” he said.

Breed was quick to respond. “To be clear, San Francisco has a combined sewer system, one of the best and most effective in the country, that ensures that all debris that flow into storm drains are filtered out at the city’s wastewater treatment plants,” she said. “No debris flow out into the bay or the ocean.”

San Francisco has long struggled with problems of human waste and needles on the streets, especially in the Tenderloin district where many addicts and homeless people congregate to access services. The city set up public toilets and last year announced formation of a special six-person “poop patrol” team to clean up the human waste.

The city also announced funding to hire people to pick up used needles.

Many of those needles came from the city itself. The health department hands out an estimated 400,000 clean syringes a month under programs designed to reduce the risk of HIV and other infections for drug users who might otherwise share contaminated needles.

The article closes with this little nugget:

“Breed responded to Trump’s visit on Twitter, writing, “The President is cutting clean air and clean water standards, restricting our ability to regulate car emissions, and denying climate change even exists. He’s cut funding for homelessness and affordable housing. In SF, we’re meeting the challenges on our streets.

Good grief: San Francisco rebrands convicted felons as “justice-involved persons” and ex-cons as “returning residents”

You can’t make this stuff up. While San Francisco literally turns into a sh*thole, the bureaucrats focus on nonsense that does nothing to address increased crime, homelessness, and rats, drugs and feces littered throughout the streets of San Francisco.

Elections have consequences.

From Daily Mail: San Francisco has passed legislation demanding that convicted felons be referred to as ‘justice-involved persons’ in an attempt to sanitize the language used to describe criminals.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors quietly passed the resolution last month with a unanimous vote, directing all city agencies and departments to adopt its sterilized list of terms.

‘Dehumanizing language like “prisoner,” “convict,” “inmate,” or “felon” only serve [sic] to obstruct and separate people from society and make the institutionalization of racism and supremacy appear normal,’ the legislation reads.

San Francisco, struggling with an epidemic of drug addiction and homelessness, has the highest property crime rate of any big city in the U.S. according to FBI data.

Among other changes, the legislation insists that juvenile delinquents to be described as ‘young persons impacted by the justice system.’

Instead of inmates, the Board of Supervisors recommends ‘currently incarcerated persons’.

Ex-cons should be referred to as ‘returning residents,’ according to the legislation. Rather than drug addicts, cops and prosecutors should speak of ‘persons with a history of substance use,’ the resolution decrees.

And instead of ‘citizen’ or ‘illegal alien,’ the Board of Supervisors urges the use of the words ‘person’ or ‘individual.’

The resolution, which was proposed by Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer, passed the 11-member board with a 10-0 vote, with Gordon Mar absent. The non-binding resolution was returned unsigned by Mayor London Breed.

Breed ‘doesn’t implement policies based on nonbinding resolutions, but she is always happy to work with the board on issues around equity and criminal justice reform,’ her spokesman Jeff Cretan, told the San Francisco Chronicle.

However, the San Francisco police and district attorney are already rushing to adopt the changes. Police spokesman David Stevenson told the Chronicle that the department has ‘made our members aware of the resolution and are researching possible impacts on operations and communications.’

The language resolution makes no mention of new terms for victims of crime.

Appears that San Francisco cares more about their homeless criminals than law-abiding citizens

Would you trust that this guy will show up for his trial?/SF Police Dept. photo

Just like Seattle, it appears that San Francisco has no desire to hold the homeless accountable for their criminal actions.

Both demorat-run cities allow the homeless to rule the streets with no real consequences for their actions. No wonder both cities have become such sh*tholes.

The latest out of San Francisco? A 25-year-old man – with no permanent address in San Francisco – was released from jail after attacking a woman at the front door of her condo building. He was charged with false imprisonment, attempted robbery and misdemeanor battery.

As reported by Katie Dowd at the SF Gate, the perp is to return to court next month.

Um yeah, you can be assured he’ll return for his trial next month. He’s also ordered to stay away from the victim.

According to the victim, police took 30 minutes to arrive. Yet SF Police say they responded in 22 minutes.

The victim tweeted the following to Gov. Newsom:

“@GavinNewsom Please watch this video of me getting attacked at my front door less than 72-hrs ago. The man who attacked me was released this morning because the judge, Christine Van Aken believes that this man is not a danger to our community. “PLEASE SAVE OUR CITY!!”

Liberal utopia of San Francisco see homeless population increase by 17%

The streets of San Francisco…

That’s what spending over $300 MILLION taxpayer dollars annually get you…

From SF Gate: Despite creating hundreds of new shelter beds and spending more than $300 million annually on homelessness, San Francisco has seen the number of homeless people in the city rise by 17% since 2017 — with a whopping amount of that increase coming from people living in vehicles.

A preliminary summary of January’s one-night street count released Thursday pegged the new number of homeless people in the city at 8,011, but that number is sure to be lower than the more complete count to be released in July. That’s because it was calculated using federal guidelines, which don’t account for as many types of homelessness as those the city uses.

Still, the federal data give an early glimpse of what city officials will be finding out in more detail later, and the glimpse is bracing.

The number of people living in cars, RVs and other vehicles has risen by 45% since the last one-night count was taken two years ago. That much has been anecdotally evident for months, particularly in industrial Bayview neighborhoods, where vehicle colonies have sprouted in ever-increasing numbers over the past year.

Overall, the new count indicates at least 1,153 more homeless people are in the streets compared with two years ago, when the federal tally set the total number at 6,858.

What demorats can do for a city: San Francisco’s homeless crisis and opioid epidemic

Maybe it’s not so much what demorats can DO for a city..it’s what they CAN’T do to solve problems.

Because if taxpayer money solved the problem, it would have been solved decades ago.
