Banks is a full-on Hollyweird progressive:
She advocates for stricter gun control laws (while using gun violence in her new movie).
And, of course, she is pro-abort and “cares very deeply” about Planned Parenthood.
On Tuesday the Center for Reproductive Rights (a global legal advocacy organization that seeks to advance reproductive rights, such as abortion) announced that Banks was their new “Creative Council” chair. From their Instagram:
“It’s official! We are harnessing the power of the creative community to advance reproductive rights as fundamental human rights around the world. Say hello to our Creative Council, chaired by the fearless actor and activist @ElizabethBanks.
“As someone who struggled with fertility issues and made embryos, I think there’s such an interesting dialogue to be had about how abortion care is part of a larger package of reproductive care that is also about creating wonderful families and access to family care,” says Banks.
Other members of the Council include @ajanaomi_king, @BusyPhilipps, @AmyBrenneman, @LisaEdelstein, @yesimsarahjones, @cindi_leive, @openingceremony’s Carol Lim and Humberto Leon, and @erikasavage. Welcome aboard!”
Another Hollyweird movie I won’t be seeing.
