The famous political couple, who individually charge well into six figures for an address, is launching a 13-city joint public speaking tour of the U.S. and Canada titled “An Evening with the Clintons” that kicks off Nov. 18 in Las Vegas.
Tickets to see the former president and former secretary of state live on stage aren’t cheap. At the 5,200-seat Park Theater in Las Vegas, the same venue where Lady Gaga will soon have a residency, seats cost between $72.48 and $228.44. And at the Opera House in Boston, tickets go for between $120.50 and $745.50, and that doesn’t include fees to promoter Live Nation.
So what can audience members expect from the show?
“Experience a one-of-a-kind conversation with two individuals who have helped shape our world and had a front seat to some of the most important moments in modern history,” the public relations copy for the tour reads. “From the American presidency to the halls of the Senate and State Department to one of the United States’ most controversial and unpredictable presidential elections, they provide a unique perspective on the past, and remarkable insight into where we go from here.”
The tour will wrap up at the 17,505-seat Forum in Inglewood, Calif., an arena that usually hosts music stars. In the coming days, Drake, Phil Collins and the band twenty one pilots will take the stage there. Also on the schedule, however, is former First Lady Michelle Obama, who will appear in mid-November.
The Clintons aren’t novices on the paid lecture circuit. From 2001 to 2015, they raked in more than $153 million in speaking fees for 729 events. As yet, there is no word on how much the former first couple might make for the Live Nation tour.
Better than Drudge Report. Check out Whatfinger News, the Internet’s conservative frontpage founded by ex-military!
McGraw previously performed at a Sandy Hook benefit, which caused some controversy. He’s staying put on his push for gun control.
Can’t we just start with enforcing current gun laws?
From The Mercury News: Tim McGraw and Faith Hill might have just alienated themselves from the majority of country music’s conservative fan base. In a wide-ranging interview with Billboard, the husband and wife country superstars opened up about their support for gun control.
“Look, I’m a bird hunter — I love to wing-shoot,” McGraw said. “However, there is some common sense that’s necessary when it comes to gun control. “They want to make it about the Second Amendment every time it’s brought up. It’s not about the Second Amendment.”
Billboard conducted the interview less than two weeks after a gunman opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, killing 58 and injuring nearly 500 people in attendance at the Las Vegas country music festival. The country music community has since been criticized for its tepid response.
On Wednesday, the Country Music Association Awards did briefly honor the Las Vegas victims. Host Carrie Underwood sang “Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling” as pictures of the 58 victims were displayed.
But there was little acknowledgment of the tragedy beyond that. In fact, CMA organizers originally banned journalists from asking about Las Vegas and guns, but a public backlash forced them to reverse course.
Hill and McGraw were in attendance at the Nashville award show, and performed “The Rest of Our Life.”
“In reference to the tragedy in Las Vegas, we knew a lot of people there,” said Hill in the Billboard interview. “The doctors that (treated) the wounded, they saw wounds like you’d see in war. That’s not right. Military weapons should not be in the hands of civilians. It’s everyone’s responsibility, including the government and the National Rifle Association, to tell the truth. We all want a safe country.”
I’ve told you about this NFL player before. He’s writing a book entitled, Things That Make White People Uncomfortable (due out next year) and he won’t stand for the national anthem until he “feels like everything is equal.”
This past Wednesday he went public with an incident he had with the Las Vegas Police Department in August. We know there are two sides to every story yet it’s quite interesting that Mr. Bennett omitted a couple important details from his story. Read on…
From MyNorthwest.com: Michael Bennett addressed reporters Wednesday afternoon, hours after he posted an open letter to Twitter detailing a disturbing encounter with Las Vegas police during which he was forcefully held to the ground and handcuffed by an officer. (From Bennett’s Twitter post: ““A police officer ordered me to get on the ground,” Bennett wrote. “As I laid on the ground, complying with his commands to not move, he placed his gun near my head and warned me that if I moved he would ‘blow my (expletive) head off’.”) “A lot of people of color have dealt with this before,” Bennett said. “And I hate that it happened to me, but I’m lucky to be in the situation to have the platform to continuously speak on injustice.”
Bennett said he told his family, teammates and head coach Pete Carroll about the incident after it happened in late August. After seeking advice about how to handle it, Bennett ultimately decided to make a public statement. “There’s a lot of people who experience what I experienced in that moment,” Bennett said. “And they’re not here to tell their story.
“It’s an emotional moment for me. I know a lot of people are like, ‘Oh, did he want this on himself?’ I didn’t ask for this moment. It just happened to be me… any moment, I could have made the wrong decision. Whether move or (make the officer feel) like I was resisting or doing something wrong, and (the Seahawks) would be wearing… the patch with the No. 72 on it.”
A clearly emotional Bennett stood at the podium at Seahawks headquarters in Renton and fielded questions for nearly seven minutes before pausing during a question about his family. The question was about a statement he made last year about being a black man in America – how even great accomplishments or fame cannot protect or make people of color immune from racism, racial profiling or police brutality.
“I try to tell my daughters every single day that they matter, and that…” Bennett said, before quietly walking out of the auditorium.
Cornerback Richard Sherman, who spoke to reporters shortly after Bennett’s exit, said Bennett’s own encounter is evidence in itself for the causes Bennett publicly supports — including his controversial decision to sit during the national anthem.
“Mike is literally sitting, taking a stand, doing everything he can to combat the same thing that he experienced,” Sherman said.
“And people are so worried about him sitting down during the national anthem that they completely miss that message a lot of the time. They want to be more angry at the action than the message. And that’s an unfortunate part of the world we live in nowadays. I wish that people would take it for what it is and make a difference.”
And what exactly did the Las Vegas Police Department have to stay about the incident that occurred in late August? From USA Today: Las Vegas police said that there is no evidence to Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett’s accusation that he was racially profiled by the department during an incident outside a casino.
Las Vegas Police Department undersheriff Kevin McMahill held a news conference Wednesday to respond to Bennett’s allegations, which he revealed earlier in the day.
“Many of the folks today have called this a incident of bias-based policing, police officers focusing solely on the race of an individual that they’re going to stop,” McMahill said. “I can tell you as I stand here today, I see no evidence of that. I see no evidence that race played any role in this incident.”
The officer who apprehended Bennett didn’t have his body camera on and it was not immediately clear why, McMahil lsaid. He added there are 126 videos from the officers that will be reviewed, and if those reveal that “any policies or training was violated, those officers will be held accountable.” In a social media post, Bennett claimed he was singled out for “simply being a black man.” He added that “the officers’ excessive use of force was unbearable.” Officers responded to reports of a possible active shooter in the casino around 1:30 on Aug. 27 after the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight. While searching for an active shooter, an officer noticed Bennett crouched near a gaming machine. Two officers gave chase when the individual (later identified as Bennett) ran out of the casino and onto the strip. Both officers were armed with handguns, and the arresting officer did not turn on his body camera. “You hear the officer approaching the door saying, ‘There he is.’ He gives chase, Mr. Bennett jumped over the wall, our officer jumped went over the wall immediately there after,” McMahill said. He said Bennett was detained for 10 minutes and released. Bennett said he was not given “any justification” for his apprehension.
So Mr. Bennett is “crouching” during an active shooter situation? Understandable if he knew what was occurring. But if he didn’t know it might be an active shooter situation, then why is he crouching behind a gaming machine?
Even if Bennett didn’t know of the active shooter situation, why would he choose to run from a police officer? Guess it’s just one of those things that might make us white people uncomfortable.
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, MAY SPARK AN AMERICAN REVOLUTION

Forget the Ukraine. The real revolution is happening right now north of Las Vegas where a rancher is under assault by the U.S. government.
Remember that famous Las Vegas advertising slogan, “What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas.” Well when it comes to big government stealing our property and violating our rights, it’s just not true. What’s happening in Vegas is symbolic of what’s happening across this once great country.
This federal government assault on a Nevada ranching family looks a lot like the Gestapo, the Stasi, or any other authoritarian Big Brother force that persecutes, intimidates and controls the people with an iron boot. Think I’m exaggerating? How about a Las Vegas elected official (County Commissioner Tom Collins) warning out of state protestors “to make funeral plans.” This isn’t Ukraine, or Moscow. That was a Las Vegas politician threatening to have government agents murder law-abiding protesters. https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/water-environment/collins-manages-insult-utahns-comments-bundy-roundup
My Jewish grandparents told me “Never forget.” What they meant was, “We must never forget the Holocaust and what happened to our people.” Well it’s time to remember, before America is no longer the land of the free! Before your free speech is corralled into a “First Amendment Area.” Before government can steal your land and take away your rights based on trumped up charges. Before government can use force to taser legal non-violent protesters. Before someone is killed by masked government snipers with AK47’s trained on American citizens.
Don’t look now. It’s happening. This is an offshoot of Obama’s plan for America- an open distaste and disgust for ranchers, farmers, hunters, capitalist owners of land. Obama hates independence. Under this administration we have record numbers of welfare, food stamp, disability and unemployment insurance. We have a government spending record money advertising to entice more Americans – even illegal immigrants- to accept food stamps and entitlement checks. We’ve given up on enforcing illegal immigration.
Obama treasures a nation filled with people who are desperate, helpless and dependent on government checks. He desperately needs to stamp out independent and self-reliant Americans who want nothing to do with the government. Look no further than this declaration of war upon a productive, taxpaying Nevada rancher family.
Obama always shows his hand with the three-letter government organizations- IRS, NSA, EPA, ATF, FDA, SEC. Obama uses them to target, intimidate and persecute his critics and political opponents. Now it’s time for a new 3-letter threat: BLM (Bureau of Land Management).
The federal government has surrounded the Bundy family ranch outside Las Vegas with snipers, heavily militarized police, vicious police dogs, black SUV’s, helicopters, low flying airplanes and automatic weapons. Cliven Bundy, is a patriotic rancher whose family has had the right to graze his cattle on this land since the 1870’s. Since before there was a BLM. Bundy does not believe he owes fees to the BLM. He recognizes this as a States’ Rights issue. http://danaloeschradio.com/the-real-story-of-the-bundy-ranch/
After well over a century with grazing rights on this land, suddenly in the 1990’s the federal government demanded rent to allow the Bundy family’s cattle to graze on it. Bundy claims his rights to graze came from the State of Nevada, not the BLM, and has already paid fees to Clark County, Nevada. Bundy already owns the water and forage rights to the land. http://danaloeschradio.com/the-real-story-of-the-bundy-ranch/
The feds blame this assault on the fact that desert tortoises reside on this land. The government is now using the tortoise as their “cover” for an armed assault on an American ranching family. Yet it is important to note that this same BLM has waived rules protecting the desert tortoise on numerous occasions to support wind and solar projects favored by U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. http://www.defenders.org/press-release/bureau-land-management-solar-plan-guides-energy-development-lower-conflict-areas.
The BLM says Bundy owes $1.1 million in grazing fees (ostensibly to protest the desert tortoise) and has decided to use lethal force, positioning snipers on hilltops to perhaps shoot our own citizens. They’ve sicced vicious guard dogs on a pregnant woman. http://drleonardcoldwell.com/2014/04/10/feds-assault-cancer-victim-pregnant-woman-in-clash-with-bundy-supporters/
They’ve tasered and arrested members of the Bundy family for standing up to a force killing and stealing their property. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/04/10/tense-video-feds-taser-pro-nevada-rancher-protester-during-clash/
Bundy’s sister (a cancer victim) was thrown to the ground. Son Dave Bundy was beaten, bruised and arrested by this Gestapo-like force for the crime of…taking photos outside “the First Amendment Area.” http://mvprogress.com/2014/04/09/bundy’s-son-arrested-in-roundup-incident-public-protest-results/
And they’ve tried to banish protestors to a “First Amendment Area” where free speech is “allowed.” Funny, I thought free speech was a right everywhere on American soil? http://www.americasfreedomfighters.com/2014/04/11/blm-feds-assault-more-protesters-as-first-amendment-area-taken-down/
This is happening in America. Our country.
Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval (a very moderate Republican) is angered by the federal government assault on property and States’ Rights. Sandoval said, “No cow justifies the atmosphere of intimidation which currently exists, nor the limitation of constitutional rights that are sacred to all Nevadans. The BLM needs to reconsider its approach to this matter and act accordingly.”
Nevada U.S. Senator Dean Heller told BLM Director Neil Kornze, “…law-abiding Nevadans must not be penalized by an over-reaching BLM.”
Between you and me, I think these are both very weak statements for government overreach this dramatic.
Clive Bundy used to have 52 rancher neighbors. They are all gone. He is the last man standing because the BLM has regulated ranchers out of business in favor of tortoises and green energy projects.
Government isn’t just brutal, vicious and over-reaching. Government is hypocritical. This same government that is supposedly acting to protect desert tortoises, killed hundreds of these same tortoises only a year ago because they didn’t have the funding to take care of them. http://www.infowars.com/before-nevada-cattle-rancher-dispute-blm-was-euthanizing-endangered-desert-tortoise/
Even more to the point, why protect desert tortoises if you’re killing cattle? Rendering trucks have been spotted at the government assault. For you city folk, rendering trucks are used to transport dead cattle. Bundy believes cattle are dropping dead in 90 degree heat after being chased by government helicopters.
Then there’s the glaring conflicts of interest in this case. Is the Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie refusing to intervene on behalf of a Nevada family because he is afraid of losing Homeland Security funding? The Sheriff is on the Board of Directors of The Nevada Commission on Homeland Security. http://dem.nv.gov/uploadedFiles/demnvgov/content/homeland_security/APPROVED%20MINUTES_NCHS_062113_klh.pdf
And there are now reports that U.S. Senator Harry Reid and his powerful attorney son Rory Reid want Bundy’s cattle off the land to make room for a $5 billion dollar Chinese solar project.
After Cliven Bundy’s property and rights are taken away, who will be next? Who knows what justification the BLM or corrupt government bullies like Harry Reid will use to steal your property, or beat your son for daring to take photos, or taser your pregnant daughter, or push to the ground your cancer-surviving wife.
Wake up America. Either we stand up to Big Brother, or everything our great Founding Fathers fought for will soon be gone.

Annalynn Censkyreports for CNNMoney.com, September 2, 2011, that yesterday’s Labor Department August jobs report was dismal, showing that the U.S. did not have even one net job gain last month, and the nation’s unemployment rate remains stuck at 9.1%.
Even more dismal is the jobless picture of blacks, surging to 16.7% in August, the highest level since 1984. In contrast, the unemployment rate for whites fell slightly to 8%.
Black men have it the worst, with joblessness at a staggeringly high 19.1%, compared to 14.5% for black women.
Black unemployment has now remained above 10% for four straight years, and given the economic sluggishness, some experts say it’s safe to predict the rate will remain above 10% for four more years. ~Eowyn
We knew it would start soon enough, and here it is.

The Boston Globe just published an ooey, gooey, sugary sweet, puppy love campaign memo disguised as a news report. Negative swipes taken at Bachmann and Trump. Several friendly voices quoted to support him. Not one critic in the entire article.
What will you do, Republicans? Wait until the day before the New Hampshire primary to remember how fast the deck gets stacked?
This is your warning now. You better do something or Mitt Romney will be your man. This is how it started with McCain four years ago.
Here’s another reason why the state of California is dead broke and broken. Millions of taxpayer dollars handed out to welfare recipients parasites were spent in Las Vegas casinos, luxury cruises, and vacation sites of Hawaii, Miami, and Guam.
Despite that, the latest polls show perennial politico Jerry Brown (D) leading in the governor race and Barbara Boxer (D) — whom even the liberal San Francisco Chronicle refuses to endorse because she’s “ineffective” — leading in the senate race.
If welfare dollars are being squandered in California, imagine how federal welfare money is being spent…. ~Eowyn

By Jack Dolan – Los Angeles Times – October 4, 2010 More than $69 million in California welfare money, meant to help the needy pay their rent and clothe their children, has been spent or withdrawn outside the state in recent years, including millions in Las Vegas, hundreds of thousands in Hawaii and thousands on cruise ships sailing from Miami. State-issued aid cards have been used at hotels, shops, restaurants, ATMs and other places in 49 other states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam, according to data obtained by The Times from the California Department of Social Services. Las Vegas drew $11.8 million of the cash benefits, far more than any other destination. The money was accessed from January 2007 through May 2010. Welfare recipients must prove they can’t afford life’s necessities without government aid: A single parent with two children generally must earn less than $14,436 a year to qualify for the cash assistance and becomes ineligible once his or her income exceeds about $20,000, said Lizelda Lopez, spokeswoman for the Department of Social Services.
Round-trip flights from Los Angeles to Honolulu on Orbitz.com Sunday started at $419 — more than 80% of the average monthly cash benefit for a single parent of two on CalWorks, the state’s main aid program. “How they can go somewhere like Hawaii and be legit on aid … they can’t,” said Robert Hollenbeck, a fraud investigator for the Fresno County district attorney’s office. “This is money for basic subsistence needs.”
The $387,908 accessed in Hawaii includes transactions at more than a thousand big-box stores, grocery stores, convenience shops and ATMs on all the major islands. At least $234,000 was accessed on Oahu, $70,626 on Maui, $39,883 on Hawaii and $22,170 on Kauai. The list includes $12,433 spent at the upscale Ala Moana shopping center, $3,030 spent at a group of gift shops next to Jimmy Buffett‘s Beachcomber restaurant on Waikiki Beach and $2,146 withdrawn from ATMs on the island of Lanai, home to a pair of Four Seasons resorts and little else. “If it’s on Lanai, that should trigger an investigation,” said Jon Coupal, president of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Assn. “California taxpayers, who are struggling to keep their own jobs, are subsidizing other people’s vacations. That’s absurd.” Of the nearly $12 million accessed in Las Vegas, more than $1 million was spent or withdrawn at shops and casino hotels on, or within a few blocks of, the 4.5-mile strip. The list includes $8,968 at the Tropicana, $7,995 at the Venetian and its Grand Canal Shoppes, and $1,332 at Tix 4 Tonight, seller of discount admission for such acts as Cirque du Soleil. Although many Las Vegas casinos block the use of welfare cards in ATMs on gambling floors, more than $34,700 has been spent or withdrawn from the ATM at a 7-Eleven in the shadow of Steve Wynn’s new Encore casino and a couple of blocks south of Circus Circus….
The data show addresses of stores and ATM locations where the cards have been used and the amounts of the transactions by year. They do not reveal the identities of the welfare recipients or show how many users visited a given retailer.
Of the $1.5 million accessed in Florida, $13,109 was spent or withdrawn in South Beach, most of that at bars and restaurants along trendy Lincoln Road. More than $7,000 was withdrawn from ATMs a few hours north, at Walt Disney World. The data also show $16,010 withdrawn from 14 cruise ships sailing from ports around the world — Long Beach, Rio de Janeiro, Beijing. Eight sail primarily from Miami.
The out-of-state spending accounts for less than 1% of the $10.8 billion spent by welfare recipients during the period covered, and advocates note that there are legitimate reasons to spend aid money outside of California. From the data provided, it cannot be determined whether any of the expenditures resulted from fraud. “I think when somebody hears it’s in a fancy hotel in Hawaii or Vegas, it’s too easy to assume the [welfare recipient] is visiting that place and it wasn’t somebody who stole their card,” said Jessica Bartholow, a legislative advocate for the Western Center on Law and Poverty. There is no rule preventing welfare recipients from leaving California, as long as they get clearance from their county case worker to be absent from the program’s 32-hour-a-week job training requirement. County investigators, who state authorities say are responsible for rooting out fraud and abuse, typically don’t question a recipient’s whereabouts until transactions on a welfare card show that he or she has been gone for more than 30 days.
“If it’s a one-time thing in Miami, we would never check that out,” said John Haley, commander of the financial crimes division of the San Diego County district attorney’s office, who said 24% of all new welfare applications in his jurisdiction contain some form of fraud. “We look for patterns of abuse.” In Los Angeles County, investigators hadn’t been checking until a recipient was gone for three months, said Department of Public Social Services Director Philip Browning. The inability to do more was “really just a resource issue,” he said. Following questions from The Times, Browning said investigators would start inquiring once the data show that a recipient has been gone for more than 30 days.
Many recipients travel to other states in an emergency such as a death in the family, investigators say. But with government resources scarce, it’s difficult to sort those cases from incidents of abuse. An anti-fraud unit in Orange County, which won praise from state officials last year for saving the state millions, has since had to slash its budget and lay off 15 investigators, said Paul Bartlett, commander of the county district attorney’s Bureau of Investigation. Those cuts saved $900,000 in operating expenses but allowed “an estimated $9.6 million in suspected fraud payments out the door,” according to an Orange County Grand Jury report released in May. A state audit last year found that none of California’s 58 counties was adequately following up on information that could help root out fraud, including monthly computer matches that list clients who are receiving duplicate aid from other states, those who are ineligible because they’re in prison and others who have died.
