Homosexual actress Ellen Page slams Chris Pratt for attending “infamously anti-LGBTQ” church

Now do followers of Islam, Ellen. I triple-dog-dare you!

From Fox News: Ellen Page slammed Chris Pratt for attending a church she claimed is “infamously anti-LGBTQ” and doubled down on her comments on Saturday.

Page’s criticism came after Pratt appeared on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and talked about being religious and completing a 21-day fast inspired by the Biblical Prophet Daniel.

“The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part” actor frequently attends Zoe Church, which is modeled after Hillsong Church, a megachurch founded in Australia but which has locations in New York City and Los Angeles, the New York Times previously reported. Variety stated Pratt was also a Hillsong church attendee.

Following Pratt’s appearance on the late-night show, Page took to Twitter to criticize Pratt for attending the church, which she did not name. “Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too?” She tweeted along with a Hollywood Reporter article about Pratt’s interview.

On Saturday Page, who came out as gay during a 2014 speech in Las Vegas at a conference for the Human Rights Campaign, doubled down on her comment against Pratt and said the actor should “try and listen” to the LGBTQ community.

“If you are a famous actor and you belong to an organization that hates a certain group of people, don’t be surprised if someone simply wonders why it’s not addressed,” the 31-year-old actress tweeted Saturday. “Being anti LGBTQ is wrong, there aren’t two sides. The damage it causes is severe. Full stop. Sending love to all.

She said in another tweet, “If lgbtq+ people are expressing their pain, their trauma, their experiences … maybe just try and listen? Open your heart, stop being defensive and have compassion. It’s a beautiful and life changing feeling, empathy. Much love truly to all.

Pastor Chad Veach previously told the New York Times he modeled Zoe church after Hillsong, which is popular among celebrities, including Justin Bieber.

Senior pastor Brian Houston at Hillsong previously said in a 2015 statement that the church does “not affirm a gay lifestyle.”

“We do not affirm a gay lifestyle and because of this we do not knowingly have actively gay people in positions of leadership, either paid or unpaid,” he said in a post on the church’s website. “I recognize this one statement alone is upsetting to people on both sides of this discussion, which points to the complexity of the issue for churches all over the world.”

He said that he loves and accepts “people on a personal level.”

“Everyone is welcome at Hillsong church except for known predators, those who are disruptive, or those who have adversarial agendas,” he said, adding that gay people are welcomed at the church but cannot pursue a leadership role.

Page has been outspoken about LGBTQ issues and recently spoke out against the attack on “Empire” star Jussie Smollett. (Maybe you should wait for that investigation to pan out, Ellen. It has yet to be proven that an attack actually did occur.)

Intolerance: Man drops out of Seattle City Council race due to “activist hate machine”

Back in September, Christopher Rufo declared that he was going to run for Seattle City Council, District 6. He was going to challenge incumbent Mike O’Brien. Rufo started a CrowdPac page and had raised $12,760 of his $15,000 goal.

I read about Rufo in September and recall him saying he was “socially progressive” and “fiscally conservative.” (I can’t remember where I read that so I don’t have a link to that information.)

Turns out that not being 100% progressive will not get you anywhere near winning a council seat in Seattle. MyNorthwest.com reports that on Wednesday Rufo dropped out of the race. Excerpts from their report:

“When Rufo first made the announcement that he was running, someone on Facebook commented that he seemed like a nice guy, but had been at an event in town thrown by a conservative group, which automatically made him suspicious. Does attendance at a conservative event now disqualify you? What if you attended an event of a conservative you disagreed with just to hear what they had to say?

Christopher Rufo said that he wanted a new way of doing business, a new method — and now he’s already out. On Wednesday, he sent an email out to members of his campaign saying that he’s got to leave. It’s not because he wants to leave; it’s because of the “tolerant” atmosphere in Seattle. (The “tolerant” description was sarcasm.)

I had hoped that this would be a campaign of ideas, but I quickly discovered that the activists in this city have no interest in ideas. Since the campaign launch, they have harassed and threatened my family nonstop. I was prepared to take the heat, but unfortunately, they have focused their hatred on my wife and children. They’ve made vile racist attacks against my wife, attempted to get her fired from Microsoft, and threatened sexual violence. They have even posted hateful messages to my 8-year-old son’s school Facebook page. I know that as the race progresses, the activists will ratchet up their hate-machine and these attacks will intensify significantly.”

Here’s more of Rufo’s statement from his Facebook page:

“I’m deeply disappointed by this turn of events and hope I have not let down my supporters as well. I’ve been overwhelmed by the excitement, love, and generosity from hundreds of people all over the Puget Sound. I know in my heart that our cause is just and our ideas would make Seattle a better place. But my primary responsibility is to make sure my family is healthy, happy, and safe. That’s not possible in our current political climate, which has been overtaken by polarization and the ever-present threat of violence.

I’ve learned that our problem here in Seattle is much deeper than the city council’s policies—we have created a culture of intolerance that is deeply destructive to the common good. I plan to spend the next few months reflecting on this experience and charting a way forward in a series of essays. I hope that some positive benefit can come out of this disappointment.

Over the next two weeks, I will be refunding all of our campaign donors and will personally cover the costs incurred since the launch of the campaign. I’m deeply grateful for all of you who have contributed and hope you can reroute your hard-earned money to other worthy candidates in the city.

I’m honored to have had your support.

While Seattle runs amok with homelessness, drug users, prostitution and increasing crime, here was a man willing to step up to the plate offering solutions that the current council cannot deliver. Yet because he was spotted at a “conservative event” he must be destroyed. No differing opinions allowed in progressive, “tolerant” Seattle!

Instead of considering a new, fresh approach to solving your multitude of problems, the open-minded progressives try to take down his family.

I’m fresh out of empathy for Seattle citizens. May you reap all the consequences you deserve for being so close-minded and spiteful against anyone who dares to attend an event of the opposite political spectrum.

Muslims Are Such Spiritual People!

Flag of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria

Muslims across the world are feasting because Ramadan is over.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the month of fasting. During Ramadan, Muslims refrain from eating, drinking and sexual relations from dawn until sunset — all for the sake of Allah and to teach Muslims about patience, humility, and spirituality. During the month, Muslims also are suposed to pray more than usual, ask forgiveness for past sins, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.
Alas, the government of the Arabic Islamic country of Algeria in North Africa (the 11th-largest country in the world!) is unclear on the concept. David E. Miller of the Jerusalem Post reports on September 7, 2010:

Police in Algeria have detained ten men for allegedly eating in public in violation of the sanctity of Ramadan.
Police picked up the young men in a restaurant in the province of Bejaya, east of the capital Algiers after neighbors complained of the alleged public desecration of the Islamic faith’s ban on eating during daylight in the holy month.
The young men face up to two years in prison for the “crime” if convicted.

Way to go, Algeria! That’s the spirit of Ramadan! Indeed, Islam is the Religion of Peace!
