Hugh Hefner’s #1 girlfriend: Life in Playboy mansion made me want to commit suicide

Playboy magazine, founded by Hugh Hefner in 1953, sold men (and women) the illusion of the promiscuous “playboy” lifestyle as glamorous and desirable. Nothing epitomized that lifestyle more than Hefner’s Playboy mansion in Los Angeles.

But Hefner’s #1 girlfriend, Holly Madison, 39, said that life in the Playboy mansion made her want to kill herself.

Madison’s work as a waitress at Hooters led to an invitation to move into the Playboy mansion when she was 21 years old. A year later, she “graduated” from being one of 75-year-old Hefner’s girlfriends to be his #1 girlfriend, whatever that means.

Insecure about her looks, Madison had a nose job and breast implants to boost her breasts from A to D-cup.

Madison said she wanted to marry Hefner and have his children, but in an interview at the Playmate of the Year luncheon in May 2008, Hefner said that although he loved Holly “very much” and they would be together the rest of his life, “marriage isn’t part of my puzzle.” Five months later, Madison announced that her relationship with Hefner had ended.

Fr. Mark Hodges reports for LifeSiteNews that in her 2015 memoir, Down The Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny, Madison said her promiscuous lifestyle of “hollow emptiness” at the Playboy mansion led her to deep despair and the point of suicide.

She said that the seemingly glamorous life at the Playboy mansion, watched by millions on television, was in reality “vacant” and a “nightmare”. There were cat fights and backstabbing among the Playboy “bunnies” because Hefner worked the girls against each other. She felt trapped in the mansion, and saw its entrance gate as “meant to lock me in.”

Describing Hefner as “a man old enough to be my grandfather,” Madison wrote that while in the bathtub one day, she thought, “If I just put my head under water and take a deep breath in, it would all be over. Maybe it was the pot and the alcohol, but drowning myself seemed like the logical way to escape the ridiculous life I was leading. I just couldn’t take my misery anymore.”

Madison said she believed that, with one possible exception among the other Playboy bunnies, no one would miss her: “Of course my family would be devastated, but I rarely saw them enough for my absence to make a difference.” Nor would Hefner care because “I was certain I was just another warm body – as we all were. ‘Just another blonde,’ I could hear him say.”

Madison ultimately concluded that suicide would be in vain, because it would just be “swept under the rug,” just like every other “scandal and ghost that once plagued Hugh Hefner.”

A mother of a girl, 6, and boy, 3, with Pasquale Rotella, Madison is now divorced. She told US Magazine that she wants her daughter to “hopefully learn from [her choices] and not make stupid mistakes herself.”

Meanwhile, another Playboy alumnus, former Baywatch star and Playboy playmate of the month Donna D’errico, 51, also turned away from her previous lifestyle to become a devout Catholic who goes to Mass every week and prays the Rosary every night with her two children.

In a Fox News interview, D’Errico said: “I’ve made mistakes and choices in my past that I wouldn’t make today. That’s a chapter in my life that I’ve closed the door on. It seems to me like another person. It’s not who I am today.”

When a Catholic reporter with Ignitum Today asked D’Errico to give advice to young women who find themselves struggling against the vicious cycle of female objectification and loss of self-esteem in modern society, D’Errico replied:

“Pray the Rosary every day. Attend Mass every Sunday. Go to Confession regularly. If you do these things, you will be able to withstand and get through anything. I know what it’s like to be led astray and fall into a life of sin. I know how easy that is. I’ve lived it. I also know what it’s like to come back.”

D’Errico also sensibly voted against Barack Obama. (LifeSiteNews)

Playboy Hugh Hefner’s miserable last years and squalid last days

Hugh Hefner died on Sept. 27, at age 91.

Days later, we learned that he had died from heart and respiratory failure stemming from his body succumbing to a massive E. Coli infection and septicemia (blood poisoning).

See “How fitting: Hugh Hefner died from fecal E. Coli infection

Now, we find that the lifelong “playboy” had spent his last years broke, watching the decline of his smutty business and mocked by former Playmate girlfriends, and his last days in urine-soaked squalor.

Sic transit gloria mundi.

According to an account in the National Enquirer, Hefner spent his last years:

(1) Overseeing the decline of his Playboy “empire”:

  • The magazine Playboy increasingly replaced by easily accessible and free online porn.
  • In 2016, Hefner tried but failed to sell the failing Playboy Enterprises for $500 million. That June, the Playboy Mansion in L.A. was sold for $100 million — half the asking price — with the condition that Hefner be allowed to stay there until his death.

(2) Alienated from his children:

  • In 2008, Hefner fired his daughter Christie, who had served him since 1975 and faithfully helmed Playboy Enterprises as CEO for 20 years. She rarely, if ever, spoke to her father again.
  • One son, Marston, had fled to Japan, after a domestic violence incident with a playmate.
  • That left remaining son, Cooper, to assume Hefner’s mantle.

(3) Betrayed by former lovers:

Now that he was old and powerless, Hefner’s former lover Kendra Wilkinson and “No. 1 girl friend” Holly Madison both turned on him:

  • In 2014, Kendra Wilkinson said she’d cheated on Hefner and described sex with the eternal playboy as brief: “At about the minute mark, I pulled away and it was done. It was like a job. Clock in, clock out. It’s not like I enjoyed having sex with him.”
  • For her part, in 2015, Holly Madison described pot-smoking, quaalude-popping Hefner’s mandatory, bedtime orgies as “No kissing, nothing. It was so brief that I can’t even recall what it felt like beyond having a heavy body on top of mine.”

See “Hugh Hefner’s #1 girlfriend: Life in Playboy mansion made me want to commit suicide“”

A Hollywood insider described how Hefner spent his final months:

“[He lived] in shocking, urine-soaked squalor. He had to be lifted in and out of a wheelchair. Alone, refusing to see guests, his fingernails overgrown, his breath a putrid stench, the air around him suffocating and musty.”

Now that he too is growing old, Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein is also beginning to experience what Hefner had experienced — the fate of evil, formerly powerful men in their dotage and decline.

Writing for The Cut, Rebecca Traister has an interesting explanation for why women are now speaking up about having been sexually assaulted/raped by  Weinstein, who had also physically assaulted men. Traister writes (Language Warning!):

I was sent, on Election Eve 2000, to cover a book party he was hosting, along with my colleague Andrew Goldman. Weinstein didn’t like my question about O [a Miramax movie project], there was an altercation; though the recording has alas been lost to time, I recall that he called me a cunt and declared that he was glad he was the ‘fucking sheriff of this fucking lawless piece-of-shit town.’ When my colleague Andrew (who was also then my boyfriend) intervened, first calming him down and then trying to extract an apology, Weinstein went nuclear, pushing Andrew down a set of steps inside the Tribeca Grand — knocking him over with such force that his tape recorder hit a woman, who suffered long-term injury — and dragging Andrew, in a headlock, onto Sixth Avenue . . . .

I saw Harvey Weinstein earlier this year, at a Planned Parenthood celebration. I was struck by . . . his physical diminishment; he seemed small and frail, and, when I caught sight of him in May, he appeared to be walking with a cane. He has also lost power in the movie industry, is no longer the titan of independent film, the indie mogul who could make or break an actor’s Oscar chances.

How fitting: Hugh Hefner died from fecal E. Coli infection

On September 27, 2017, 91-year-0ld Hugh Hefner did the world (that he’s contaminated with pornography) a favor by finally croaking.

Yesterday, Lindsey Kupfer of Page Six reports that Hefner died from cardiac arrest and respiratory failure from “battling” a “highly resistant to antibiotics” E. coli and septicemia (blood poisoning) for six days before he succumbed.

How ironic, given that it is precisely the promiscuity — and resultant infections — promoted by Hefner which has led to increasingly antibiotics-resistant super bugs. See:

From Wikipedia:

Escherichia coli ( . . .  also known as E. coli) is a . . . rod-shaped, coliform bacterium of the genus Escherichia that is commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms. . . . Most E. coli strains are harmless, but some serotypes can cause serious food poisoning in their hosts . . . . E. coli is expelled into the environment within fecal matter. The bacterium grows massively in fresh fecal matter under aerobic conditions for 3 days . . . and fecal–oral transmission is the major route through which pathogenic strains of the bacterium cause disease.

In other words, smut-peddler Hugh Hefner died from bacteria found in feces.

Writing for The Independent, Julie Bindel stated that Hefner “caused immeasurable damage by turning porn – and therefore the buying and selling of women’s bodies – into a legitimate business.” Writing for Christianity Today, theologian Ed Stetzer described that during his lifetime, when Hefner’s daughter, Christie, visited the Playboy Mansion, he would have the residence systematically cleaned in order “to keep the realities from his own daughter”. On Hefner’s role as “general” of the sexual revolution, Stezer wrote:

“It’s hard to fathom that anyone would have known what this would have turned into. Parents growing up today are fighting to keep their children pure. Spouses are fighting to keep their marriages intact. And many enslaved and trapped in the adult entertainment industry have been figuratively and literally stripped not only of their clothes, but their very value as people made in the image of God. If this does not concern us, what will?”

Holly Madison, a former “girlfriend” of Hefner, said that while living in the Playboy Mansion, he “would encourage competition—and body image issues—between his multiple live-in girlfriends. His legacy is full of evidence of the exploitation of women for professional gain.

See “Hugh Hefner’s #1 girlfriend: Life in Playboy mansion made me want to commit suicide

One of the women whom Hefner exploited was Deep Throat porn actress Linda Lovelace.

So many years later, I still remember browsing in a bookstore and coming across Lovelace’s 1980 autobiography, Ordeal, in which she recounted being summoned to Hefner’s Playboy mansion to “perform”. But Hefner wasn’t interested in seeing her engaged in “regular” sex. He first sodomized her, then wanted to see her have sex with a dog — which she did. If I recall correctly, actor Sammy Davis, Jr., was also present.

My memory is confirmed by Lauren Ingram’s Sept. 28, 2017 essay for VICE, “Don’t Mourn for Hugh Hefner“.

Lovelace said she had been coerced into porn by her abusive husband. She became a born again Christian and an anti-porn crusader. On April 3, 2002, Linda Susan Boreman, Lovelace’s real name, died from massive trauma and internal injuries from an auto accident. She was only 53 years old.

In an interview in January 2009 with John Roberts of CNN, Hefner lauded the Obama administration for ending the Christian right’s efforts to overturn the corruption of America’s moral values since the 1960s:

“One got a remarkable revolutionary change in pop culture and in moral values in the ’60s and ’70s, and then there was a backlash. And that backlash, I think, has influenced government. And, um, the Christian right has played a major role in all of that. And I think that the complicated problems with religion being involved with politics hopefully will come to an end for a while at least.”

Born of parents whom he described as “conservative, Midwestern and Methodist,” Hefner was an atheist.

In the January 2000 issue of his Playboy magazine, Hefner said that he didn’t “have a clue” about what happens after death (source):

“I’m always struck by the people who think they do have a clue. It’s perfectly clear to me that religion is a myth. It’s something we have invented to explain the inexplicable . . . . What does it all mean — if it has any meaning at all? But how can it all exist if it doesn’t have some kind of meaning? I think anyone who suggests that they have the answer is motivated by the need to invent answers, because we have no such answers.”

In Dante’s Inferno, the 8th circle of Hell is Malebolge — a large, funnel-shaped cavern sub-divided into ten concentric circular ditches. The second ditch contains sinners immersed forever in a river of human feces.

I’m pretty sure Hugh Hefner now knows what happens after death.
