Ben Affleck knew Harvey Weinstein “was sleazy”

And yet he still befriended Weinstein and worked with him. Money over principles is the standard in Hollyweird.

And now Affleck goes on an apology tour just before his movie, Justice League, is released and receiving terrible reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. What a coincidence!

From NY Post: Ben Affleck knew Harvey Weinstein abused his power from the very beginning, but at the age of 24, he didn’t think there was anything he could do about it.

“I knew he was sleazy and kind of a bully, but unfortunately that wasn’t uncommon,” the “Justice League” star said Friday on the “Today” show. “I was brand new to Hollywood … I was 24 years old. I never made a movie and didn’t know much of anything, really.”

Affleck, now 45, worked with Weinstein, 65, on a slew of films, including “Shakespeare in Love” and “Good Will Hunting,” the latter of which earned him an Academy Award in 1998 for Best Original Screenplay. With more than 80 women having come forward to accuse the disgraced mogul of sexual harassment and assault, Affleck maintains he would like to be “part of the solution.”

“And, you know, it really is a shame because although I stopped working with Harvey a long time ago, those movies hold a special kind of place in my heart and to now look back on it and think like, ‘Gosh, some other people were going through something really ugly and disturbing [experiences],’” he said.

Affleck pledged to give his residual checks for the movies he made with Weinstein to anti-sexual violence organizations. He also said he believes the country has reached a turning point, where survivors aren’t afraid to speak out.

“It certainly feels like a really important moment,” he said. “It feels like a time when survivors are finding their voice and people are sort of — and I include myself in this — really discovering the terrible extent of this problem here in our country.”

As allegations of sexual misconduct continue to mount against several Hollywood heavyweights — including Kevin Spacey, Jeffrey Tambor, Louis C.K. and, most recently, Sylvester Stallone — Affleck has tried to own up to his own past misdeeds. The father of three apologized to former “TRL” personality Hilarie Burton in October, after the actress claimed he had groped her during a 2003 appearance on the show.

“I acted inappropriately towards Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize,” Affleck tweeted at the time.

Although Affleck didn’t go into detail about Rose McGowan, who called him a liar on Twitter after the New York Times revealed she was paid $100,000 to drop sexual harassment claims against Weinstein, he remains supportive.

“I don’t really want to get into other people’s individual stories because I feel like those are their stories and they are entitled to tell as much or as little of those as they want — I believe Rose, I support her, I really like and admire her tenacity and wish her the best,” Affleck said.

Thursday on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the actor said the outpouring of sexual misconduct allegations has been eye-opening.

“I thought I had a sense of the scope of the problem and I thought I understood it and the truth is, I really didn’t,” he said. “I didn’t understand what it’s like to be groped, harassed, to be interrupted, talked over, paid less, pushed around, belittled — all the things that women deal with that for me, as a man, I had the privilege of not having to deal with.

“Part of this, for me, has been listening to people that I care about and love as they tell me stories of stuff that’s happened to them, this is men and women, and realizing this is a real thing. I’m not a spokesperson, I’m not a superhero, I can’t change it by myself. I can just be accountable for myself and for my actions.”

Ben Affleck says he wants to be “part of the solution” to sexual harassment

Don’t kid yourself. He’s only desperately trying to save his career and promote his movie, Justice League, which opens on November 13.

FYI: One of the screenwriters of Justice League is Joss Whedon – the faux feminist who called Ivanka Trump a dog and demeaned teenage cancer-survivors’ looks to take shot at Republicans.

From Hollywood Reporter: Ben Affleck says the storm of sexual harassment allegations engulfing Hollywood has led him to examine his own behavior.

In an interview Sunday with the Associated Press for Justice League, Affleck said he’s “looking at my own behavior and addressing that and making sure I’m part of the solution.”

After condemning Harvey Weinstein’s actions last month, Affleck was forced to defend his own conduct. He apologized for groping actress Hilarie Burton on camera in 2003 when she was a host on MTV’s Total Request Live. Another video from 2004 showed Affleck pulling Montreal TV host Anne-Marie Losique onto his lap.

Speaking Sunday, Affleck said two things need to happen, that “more women need to be pushed to power” and that sexual harassment has to also be “a men’s issue” where guys call out inappropriate behavior.

Sexgate: another woman accuses Ben Affleck of groping her butt

This post piggybacks on DCG’s post this morning, “The downfall of Hollyweird stars begins: Ben Affleck apologizes for groping Hilarie Burton“.

On Tuesday, October 10, 2017, actor Ben Affleck hypocritically said that he was “made sick” by allegations that Hellywood mogul Harvey Weinstein had raped and sexually harassed women over the course of decades, and called on his fellow Hollyweirdos to “condemn this type of behavior when we see it.”

A fan then accused Affleck of similar behavior, tweeting that Affleck had “also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once.”

In 2013, Affleck was 31 years old and in the midst of a 3-year affair with actress Jennifer Lopez, whom he planned to marry on September 14, 2013.

Actress Hilarie Burton thanked the fan and confirmed that Affleck indeed had grabbed her breasts in 2013 when she was just “a kid,” never mind that a 21-year-old adult is hardly a kid.

So Affleck tweeted an apology yesterday, that “I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize.”

Jessica Sager reports for Page Six, Oct. 12, 2017, that mere hours after Affleck’s apology to Burton, another woman has come forth accusing the actor of touching her inappropriately.

Annamarie Tendler

Makeup artist Annamarie Tendler, who’s married to former “Saturday Night Live” writer-turned-comedian John Mulaney, tweeted Wednesday night:

“I would also love to get an apology from Ben Affleck who grabbed my ass at a Golden Globes party in 2014. He walked by me, cupped my butt and pressed his finger into my crack. I guess he tried to play it like he was politely moving me out of the way and oops touched my butt instead of my lower back? Like most women in these situations I didn’t say anything but I have thought a lot about what I’d say if I ever saw him again.”

Tendler’s account is corroborated by comedy writer Jen Statsky, who said that Affleck had also grabbed the butts of “multiple” other women at the Golden Globes party. Statsky tweeted:

“I was also at this party and *multiple* friends had this same exact experience.”

This will snowball. As in the case of Harvey Weinstein, even more women will now come forth accusing Affleck of inappropriate sexual touching.

It’s popcorn time!

Birds of a feather…

No doubt, Hollyweird PR agents are scurrying around doing major damage control right now. Good. Let all those Hollyweird hypocrites face the wrath of their despicable actions.

FYI: Ben Affleck has several projects in the works, see here. #BoycottHollywood!

From Fox News: Ben Affleck apologized to actress Hilarie Burton for groping her during an appearance on “TRL” in 2003. “I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize,” Affleck tweeted Wednesday.

The actor was accused of groping Burton on Tuesday, hours after he said he was “saddened and angry” over allegations that Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein raped and sexually harassed women over decades.

Affleck wrote Tuesday that the news about the man who helped create his career “made me sick” and that we must “condemn this type of behavior when we see it.”

A fan then accused Affleck of similar behavior tweeting, “[Affleck] also grabbed Hilarie Burton’s breasts on TRL once. Everyone forgot though.”

Burton chimed in tweeting, “I didn’t forget.” Her husband, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, played the father of Ben Affleck’s character in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

The fan wrote back, “I’m so sorry that happened to you. It’s infuriating that people never bring up all the gross, predatory things he’s done.”

Burton thanked the fan for speaking up adding “I was a kid” when Affleck grabbed her breast during a 2003 “TRL” appearance.

A rep for Affleck did not return Fox News’ request for comment.

Actress Rose McGowan, is among the women accusing Weinstein, also blasted Affleck calling him a liar and claiming the actor knew of Weinstein’s behavior but remained silent.

“@benaffleck ‘GODDAMNIT! I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT’ you said that to my face. The press conf I was made to go to after assault. You lie,” McGowan tweeted.

McGowan also called out Affleck’s brother, actor Casey Affleck who has been accused of sexual assault, on Twitter Monday writing, “Ben Affleck Casey Affleck, how’s your morning boys?”

Casey Affleck recently faced intense public scrutiny for a past civil sexual harassment lawsuit. He made headlines ealier this year after reports surfaced that two women had filed lawsuits against him for sexual assault on the set of the 2009 film “I’m Still Here.” Both suits were settled out of court.

Casey Affleck addressed the allegations in March 2017 in a statement to the Boston Globe.

“I believe that any kind of mistreatment of anyone for any reason is unacceptable and abhorrent, and everyone deserves to be treated with respect in the workplace and anywhere else,” Affleck said. “There’s really nothing I can do about it other than live my life the way I know I live it and to speak to what my own values are and how I try to live by them all the time.”
