Partying for poverty: House demorats took $60k trip to South Africa for Beyoncé concert

From MSN: Five members of the Congressional Black Caucus took a $60,000 trip to see Beyoncé and other stars perform in concert in South Africa late last year, according to congressional disclosure records.

The lawmakers were U.S. Reps. Gregory Meeks of New York, Barbara Lee of California, Bobby Rush of Illinois, Terri Sewell of Alabama and Hank Johnson of Georgia, according to the data.

They attended the “Global Citizen Mandela 100” concert Dec. 1-3 to celebrate the centenary birth of the late Nelson Mandela and raise awareness of global poverty. In addition to Beyoncé, other musical acts included her husband, Jay Z, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams and Chris Martin.

The lawmakers appeared in a photo that the Rev. Al Sharpton, who also attended the event, posted on his Twitter page.

The trip was paid for by Global Citizen, a nonprofit that lobbies for anti-poverty programs around the world, the Washington Examiner reported. The group said the presence of members of Congress at the concert would “showcase America’s ongoing commitment [to] health equality and global human rights.”

Other celebrities at the event included Oprah Winfrey and “Daily Show” host Trevor Noah.

“In the spirit of Nelson Mandela, we pledge to keep working with our colleagues in Congress, across the country and across the aisle, to make sure that every child in Africa and at home has the opportunity to thrive and grow in a safe and prosperous world,” Meeks said, according to the Examiner.

“As a Sr. member of the Foreign Affairs Comm[ittee] who understands the importance of both multilateral & bilateral relations on trade & foreign policy, developing that relationship is crucial,” Meeks said when asked how the trip was related to his congressional duties.

The National Legal and Policy Center, a watchdog group, called the trip a “mockery.”

“These members of Congress that were given an all-expense paid vacation to party with Oprah, Jay Z, and Beyoncé in South Africa are claiming with a straight face this was needed to help poor children around the world live better lives,” Tom Anderson, president of the NLPC’s Government Integrity Project, told the Examiner. “This was in fact, a mockery of House ethics rules on gifts and travel, the truly poor, and all Americans that expect members of Congress to live not only by the letter of the law but by the spirit and intentions of the rules of the House of Representatives.”

A representative for Sewell said her travel “was pre-approved by the House Ethics Committee and was not paid for at taxpayer expense” and that “Rep. Sewell and several other members attended the Global Citizen Mandela 100 Festival, a platform for world leaders to speak out against racial injustice and inequity, and voice their support for international assistance for underprivileged populations.”

According to the travel itinerary, the congressional members were in South Africa for one full day and used two partial days for travel.

In January, a group of Democrats was criticized for flying to Puerto Rico for the Congressional Hispanic Caucus BOLD PAC gathering in San Juan, where they also attended a special performance of the Broadway play “Hamilton.”

Democrat Congressman eats earwax; says Communism proven to work

Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Georgia) may be losing his distinction as the Stupidest Member of Congress.

Recall that in 2010, the “my-shoe-size-is-bigger-than-my-IQ” Congressman feared that moving 8,000 U.S. Marines to Guam would tip over the island.

Johnson now has stiff competition from another Democrat, 50-year-old Rep. Joe Garcia (D-Florida).

Joe Garcia1On May 7, 2014, during a House Judiciary Committee markup broadcast live on C-SPAN, Garcia was seen sticking his finger in his ear, examining his “catch,” then eating his own earwax.

Brendan Bordelon reports for The Daily Caller, May 21, 2014, that Garcia made another gaffe this week, claiming that low crime rates in US-Mexico border cities with lots of federal immigration workers is proof that “Communism works.”

Garcia made the comment during a Google hangout he convened last week to talk about comprehensive immigration reform with supporters. The Democrat attempted to point out how, for all their talk about limited government, many Republicans are fine spending loads of government money on border security. He babbled, “Let me give you an example, the kind of money we’ve poured in. So the most dangerous — sorry, the safest city in America is El Paso, Texas. It happens to be across the border from the most dangerous city in the Americas, which is Juarez. Right? And two of the safest cities in America, two of them are on the border with Mexico. And of course, the reason is we’ve proved that Communism works. If you give everybody a good government job, there’s no crime. But that isn’t what we should be doing on the border. The kind of money we’ve poured into it, and we’re having diminishing returns.”

The video was uploaded to YouTube by the America Rising PAC, a Republican PAC founded in 2013 and dedicated to opposition research. It’s also the same group that originally uploaded Garcia’s earwax escapade.

Garcia, who is of Cuban descent along with many of his south Florida constituents, told the Miami Herald he never meant to espouse Communism — and was instead taking a tongue-in-cheek shot at his GOP opponents.

Blah. Blah. Blah.

But Garcia’s district is already rated a toss-up by the Cook Political Report, and with their second attack on the congressman in a week America Rising clearly senses an opening in the south Florida district.

Why are 8 Democrats sponsoring a bill to eliminate the death penalty for treason?

Nearly a year ago, on January 2, 2012, eight Democrats in the House introduced a curious piece of legislation — H.R. 3741: Federal Death Penalty Abolition Act of 2013, which seeks to abolish the death penalty under federal law. But the bill has only just been discovered by the media, notably The Hill on Dec. 16, 2013.
HR 3741 specifically prevents anyone from being sentenced to death or put to death for all federal offenses that presently would bring the death penalty. Those offenses include:
1. Homicide-related offenses:

  • Murder related to the smuggling of aliens (illegal immigrants)
  • Destruction of aircraft, motor vehicles, or related facilities, resulting in death.
  • Murder committed during a drug-related drive-by shooting
  • Murder committed at an airport serving international civil aviation
  • Murder committed using chemical weapons
  • Civil rights offenses relating in death
  • Murder of a member of Congress, an important executive official, or a Supreme Court justice
  • Death resulting from offenses involving transportation of explosives, destruction of government property, or destruction of property related to foreign or interstate commerce
  • Murder committed by use of a firearm or armor piercing ammunition during commission of a crime of violence or a drug trafficking crime
  • Genocide
  • First degree murder
  • Murder by a federal prisoner
  • Murder of a state or local law enforcement official or other person aiding in a federal investigation; murder of a state correctional officer
  • Murder during a kidnapping
  • Murder during a hostage-taking
  • Murder with the intent of preventing testimony by a witness, victim, or informant
  • Mailing of injurious articles with intent to kill or resulting in death
  • Assassination or kidnapping resulting in the death of the president or vice-president
  • Murder for hire
  • Murder involved in a racketeering offense
  • Willful wreckage of a train resulting in death
  • Bank robbery-related murder or kidnapping
  • Murder related to a carjacking
  • Murder related to aggravated child sexual abuse
  • Murder related to sexual exploitation of children
  • Murder committed during an offense against maritime navigation
  •  Murder committed during an offense against a maritime fixed platform
  • Murder using devices or dangerous substances in waters of the United States
  • Murder involving the transportation of explosive, biological, chemical, or radioactive or nuclear materials
  • Murder involving the destruction of vessel or maritime facility
  • Murder of a United States national in another country
  • Murder by the use of a weapon of mass destruction
  • Murder by act of terrorism transcending national boundaries
  • Murder involving torture
  • Murder involving a war crime
  • Murder related to a continuing criminal enterprise or related murder of a federal, state, or local law enforcement officer
  • Death resulting from aircraft hijacking
  1. Non-homicide related offenses:
  • Espionage
  • Treason
  1. Title 10: Offenses include
  • conspiracy
  • desertion
  • assaulting or willfully disobeying superior commissioned officer
  • mutiny or sedition
  • misbehavior before the enemy
  • subordinate compelling surrender
  • improper use of countersign
  • forcing a safeguard
  • aiding the enemy
  • spies
  • espionage
  • improper hazarding of vessel
  • misbehavior of sentinel
  • murder
  • death or injury of an unborn child
  • crimes triable by military commission

HR 3741 also states: “Anyone who was already sentenced to death for a federal crime prior to the bill taking effect would have that sentence reduced to a lifetime prison sentence without any possibility of parole.”
Nothing happens in politics without a reason. Certainly, members of the United States Congress, who are more preoccupied with fundraising for their reelection than with legislating, don’t propose bills without a reason.
We must therefore ask ourselves the reason for HR 3741. Is it motivated by Altruism, the highest and most selfless form of charity?
The answer, I submit, can be found in two clues:
1. The bill stretches credulity by the sheer scope of the crimes for the elimination of death penalty as punishment, including even for such egregious acts as genocide, mutiny, sedition, murder by use of a weapon of mass destruction (not even  nuclear bomb or poison gas?), not to mention assassination of the U.S. president or vice-president, and of members of Congress. If genocide doesn’t warrant the death penalty (think Hitler), what would? Why not just abolish the death penalty altogether?

2. The bill’s sponsors:

They are eight — a sponsor and 7 co-sponsors:

  • Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.), the sponsor of HR 3741.
  • Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.)
  • Keith Ellison (D-Minn.): the first Muslim to be elected to the U.S. Congress.
  • Barbara Lee (D-Calif.)
  • Hank Johnson (D-Ga.): the bright bulb who thinks the island of Guam would tip over because of more U.S. troops.
  • John Lewis (D-Ga.)
  • Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.)
  • José Serrano (D-N.Y.)

Not only are HR 3741’s eight sponsors all Democrats, 6 of the 8 are members of the Congressional Black Caucus.

Jan Schakowsky, 69, is the daughter of Jewish immigrants from, respectively, Lithuania and Russia. Not only is Schakowsky a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, she is the most “Progressive” leftwing socialist communist member of the current US Congress, with ratings of between 90 and 100 from “liberal and progressive” interest groups — which means she is a pro-abort. She even has the gall to call abortion a mere “health procedure” and wants more “federal funding,” that is, to have taxpayers pay even more for murder.
On March 11, 2004, Schakowsky’s husband, lobbyist Robert Creamer, the executive director of the Illinois Public Action Fund (IPAF), was indicted in federal court on 16 counts of bank fraud involving three alleged check-kiting schemes in the mid-1990s, leading several banks to experience shortfalls of at least $2.3 million. In August 2005, Creamer pleaded guilty to one count of failure to collect withholding tax, and bank fraud for writing checks with insufficient funds. On April 5, 2006, Creamer was sentenced to five months in prison and 11 months of house arrest. All of the money was repaid. Schakowsky was not accused of any wrongdoing despite her serving on IPAF’s board during the time the crimes were committed, and despite her co-signing with her husband their IRS filings.

José Serrano, 70, born in Puerto Rico, is the avowed socialist who repeatedly has introduced House resolutions to repeal the 22nd Amendment that limits U.S. presidents to two consecutive terms. He is widely regarded as one of the most “Progressive” members of Congress.
In other words, the bill’s eight sponsors, being all “Progressive” Democrats are not individuals notable for their sweetness and light and altruistic love of humanity. If they were, they wouldn’t be “Progressives” who support the death penalty for the most innocent and defenseless of human beings — the unborn.
The logical conclusion, therefore, is this:
HR 3741’s real objective is to eliminate the death penalty for TREASON because Democrats think Barack Hussein Obama may be arrested and tried for treason.
Like that fascinating impeachment email that the Democratic National Committee recently sent to its supporters, HR 3741 is motivated by the Demonrats’ real fear that their idol, President Lucifer, is in serious trouble.

Police video shows Zimmerman with no visible blood or bruises

A police surveillance video of a handcuffed George Zimmerman arriving in a police cruiser shows the shooter of Trayvon Martin as being leaner than he was in the standard photo we’ve seen. More importantly, Zimmerman does not appear to have visible blood or bruises on his face and head, despite his claim that Martin had punched him in the nose, knocked him down and slammed his head into the ground.

Matt Guttman reports for ABC World News, March 28, 2012, that the surveillance video, which was obtained exclusively by ABC News, shows Zimmerman arriving in a police cruiser. As he exits the car, his hands are cuffed behind his back. Zimmerman is frisked and then led down a series of hallways, still cuffed.
Zimmerman, 28, is wearing a red and black fleece and his face and head are cleanly shaven. He appears well built, hardly the portly young man depicted in a 2005 mug shot that until a two days ago was the single image the media had of Zimmerman.
The initial police report noted that Zimmerman was bleeding from the back of the head and nose, and after medical attention it was decided that he was in good enough condition to travel in a police cruiser to the Sanford, Fla., police station for questioning. His lawyer later insisted that Zimmerman’s nose had been broken in his scuffle with 17-year-old Martin.
In the video an officer is seen pausing to look at the back of Zimmerman’s head, but no abrasions or blood can be seen in the video and he did not check into the emergency room following the police questioning.
Zimmerman was not arrested although ABC News has learned that the lead homicide investigator filed an affidavit urging Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter. The prosecutor, however, told the officer to not file the charge because there was not enough evidence for conviction.

The deputy manager of Obama’s reelection campaign is now accusing the Republicans of “politicizing” the Trayvon Martin shooting. That is laughable, given the shameless race hustling of political figures such as Jesse Jackson; Representatives Bobby Rush, Maxine Water, Frederica Wilson, Hank Johnson; and Barack Obama himself — all Democrats.
Most egregious of all is the $10,000 reward that the racist New Black Panther Party has offered for the capture of George Zimmerman, wanted dead or alive,” and the call for the mobilization of 10,000 black men to capture Zimmerman. The New Black Panthers are most certainly NOT Republicans.
The Obama reelection campaign’s accusation that Republicans are politicizing the Martin shooting is a classic example of psychological projection. We can now add “political party hustling” to the race hustling of Obama and his fellow Democrats.

Doing the Trayvon race hustle

The dictionary defines “race hustler” as “individuals of a particular race who project themselves into the media spotlight as spokespersons whenever there is an alledged racial incident which involves their race. The use of the word ‘Hustler’, included as a part of the term, also implies that these individuals exploit a racial situation to serve their own interests.”
Jesse Jackson is a race hustler who is exploiting the tragic shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Jackson calls Trayvon a “martyr” and says “blacks are under attack.”
Barack Obama is a race hustler, saying on March 23 “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.” Imagine the hue and cry if a white President had said that about a white victim of a black shooting.

Congressman Bobby Rush (D-Ill.), a former Black Panther, was removed from the House of Representatives this morning for his hoodie grandstanding “in honor” of Trayvon Martin, the Florida teen shot last month.
A visibly frustrated Rep. Gregg Harper (R-Miss.), the speaker pro tempore presiding over the morning session, said: “The member will suspend. The member is no longer recognized. The chair will ask the sergeant-at-arms to enforce the rules on decorum.”
Clause 5 of House Rule No. 17 prohibits the wearing of hats on the House floor.

Congresswoman Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-Florida) calls the shooting “racial profiling.” She said, “Trayvon Martin’s murderer is still at large. It’s been one month, thirty days, with no arrest. I want America to see this sweet young boy who was hunted down like a dog, shot in the street, and his killer is still at large […] even though we all know who the murderer is. This was a standard case of racial profiling. No more! No more! We will stand for justice for Treyvon Martin.”

Congressman Hank Johnson (D-Georgia) says Trayvon “was executed for ‘WWB’ in a ‘GC.’ Walking While Black in a Gated Community.” Johnson is the genius who, in a House Armed Services Committee hearing in 2010, expressed his trepidation that moving 8,000 marines to Guam would tip over the island.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) calls the Trayvon shooting a “hate crime.” A Marxist, Waters is among the most corrupt of Congress, named by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington to its list of corrupt members of Congress in its 2005, 2006 and 2009 reports, and by Citizens Against Government Waste as its June 2009 Porker of the Month. Waters has also been accused of stealing from funds donated for Haiti’s earthquake relief.

Most reprehensible of all is director Spike Lee.
Last Friday Lee retweeted to his 240,000 followers a tweet containing the purported address of Trayvon’s shooter George Zimmerman. But the address on Edgewater Circle in Sanford, Florida, is actually the longtime residence of an elderly white Florida couple, David and Elaine McClain.
The McClains, who are both in their 70s, have no connection to Zimmerman and are now living in fear. Elaine McClain is a school-cafeteria lunch lady and has a heart condition. The couple have received hate mail, unwanted visits from reporters and fearful inquiries from neighbors. They’ve fled their home and have temporarily moved to a hotel to avoid the spotlight and possible danger.
Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor contacted Spike Lee’s production company “40 Acres and a Mule.”  Instead of issuing a statement or an apology, the executive office said Spike Lee had “no comment.” Although Lee’s tweet has been removed, it continues to be retweeted.

Where’s the outrage by these race hustlers about the all-too-prevalent black-on-black murders?

According to a U.S. Department of Justice report surveying homicide statistics between 1974 and 2004, 52.2% of the offenders were Black, 45.8% were White, and 2% were Other Races. Of the victims in those homicides, 50.9% were White, 46.9% were Black, and 2.1% were Other Races. The report stated that “most murders are intraracial” with 86% of White murders committed by Whites, and 94% of Black murders committed by Blacks.

Late Wednesday (Mar. 28) night, Spike Lee finally apologized to the McClains with this tweet, “I Deeply Apologize To The McClain Family For Retweeting Their Address. It Was a Mistake. Please Leave The McClain’s [sic] in Peace.”

Good News! Guam Will No Longer Tip Over!

That’s because on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives agreed to cut from the fiscal 2012 budget the entire $150 million in funding for the planned relocation of some 8,000 marines from Okinawa to Guam.
Democrat Congressman “my shoe size is bigger than my IQ” Hank Johnson can now rest easy. Recall that at a House Armed Services Committee hearing last year, he had expressed his trepidation that moving 8,000 marines to Guam would tip over the island.

House Affirms In God We Trust


On November 1, 2011, the GOP-majority House of Representatives voted in favor of House Resolution 13, “Reaffirming In God We Trust' as the official motto of the United States and supporting and encouraging the public display of the national motto in all public buildings, public schools, and other government institutions."
The resolution was sponsored by<strong> </strong><a href="https://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/?&amp;Db=d112&amp;querybd=@FIELD%28FLD003+@4%28%28@1%28Rep+Forbes++J.+Randy%29%29+01683%29%29">Rep J. Randy Forbes</a> (R-VA)  and had 64 <a href="https://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?d112:HC00013:@@@P">co-sponsores</a>.

The House voted 396-9 in favor of the bill. Of the 396 representatives who voted in favor, 233 are Republicans, 163 are Democrats. Of the 9 who voted against the Resolution, one is Republican, the other 8 are Democrats. The nine are:

26 members of the House did not vote on the Resolution, including (curiously) Michele Bachmann (R-Minn).
The bill has now been referred to the Senate — to its Committee on the Judiciary.

During a House Armed Services Committee hearing on April 1, 2010, on the advisability of the U.S. building up its naval base on the Pacific island of Guam, a U.S. territory, Congressman Hank Johnson (D-Georgia) opened his mouth and removed all doubt that his IQ is the same as his shoe size.
Concerned that adding 8,000 U.S. Marines and their families to Guam’s 175,000 population would lead to over-population, Johnson said he feared the island would tip over and capsize like a boat!

Well, you’d be thrilled to know that not only did Hank Johnson win reëlection in Georgia’s 4th Congressional district in 2008 with 99.9% of the vote, despite his demonstration of stupidity he was again reëlected in 2010!
More than that, last week (December 6), he was elected Progressive Caucus whip, which proves that it is not just Democrat voters who are stupid, so too are Johnson’s fellow Demonrat Congressmen/women.
Johnson has a 100% lifetime rating from the ACLU.
