Not content with destroying the 2A, Virginia now going after the First Amendment

Not content with working hard to disarm law-abiding citizens, Virginia is now turning their attention to silencing their citizens.

On January 16, Virginia House Delegate member Jeffrey Bourne (demorat) presented HB 1627 entitled, “Threats and harassment of certain officials and property.”

The bill is to amend other codes relating to threats and harassment of certain officials and property. Obviously threatening a government official should be a no-no. BUT, get a look at THIS text:

“§ 18.2-152.7:1. Harassment by computer; penalty: If any person, with the intent to coerce, intimidate, or harass any person, shall use a computer or computer network to communicate obscene, vulgar, profane, lewd, lascivious, or indecent language, or make any suggestion or proposal of an obscene nature, or threaten any illegal or immoral act, he shall be is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. A violation of this section may be prosecuted in the jurisdiction in which the communication was made or received or in the City of Richmond if the person subjected to the act is one of the following officials or employees of the Commonwealth: the Governor, Governor-elect, Lieutenant Governor, Lieutenant Governor-elect, Attorney General, or Attorney General-elect, a member or employee of the General Assembly, a justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia, or a judge of the Court of Appeals of Virginia.”

Read the whole bill here.

Who gets to define these terms thrown in the bill: obscene, vulgar, profane or indecent?

And I love the fact that demorats are going to be able to determine what is an “immoral act.”

This is RICH coming from the party that promotes homosexuality, anal sex, self mutilation under the guise of transgenderism, child drag queens and fisting, among other degenerate acts.

The Virginia General Assembly didn’t care what the 22,000 gun rights rally attendees had to say about their Second Amendment rights. Yet apparently they are very concerned with what you have to say about them striping those rights.

Dangerous times in Virginia, very dangerous times.

Virginia massive gun-rights rally: 22k participants include Blacks and LGBTs

Since last November 6’s election that gave control of Virginia’s entire state government to Democrats, led by pro-abort Gov. Ralph Northam (D), Democrats have been on a tear to impose gun control. See:

In response is a massive backlash by Virginia gun owners, who have formed Second Amendment sanctuaries and militias against the anticipate gun grab. As of  January 14, 2020, 130 counties and cities have passed sanctuary measures.

On Monday, January 20, some 22,000 patriots rallied at the state capitol in Richmond, VA, to lobby their legislators not to vote away Virginians’ Second Amendment-guaranteed gun rights.

There were rumors that Antifa planned to disrupt the rally. Indeed, according to a tweet by a rally participant @StoodAlive, Antifa were there, but they likely chickened out because of the massive show of force by patriots:

There are some ANTIFA members in the crowd posing as Trump supporters who are planning to start violence in-order for the media to blame Republicans and paint us as violent.

According to Getty Images, the Revolutionary Communist Party were the only counter protesters who attended the rally. Only one arrest was made — a female who police say repeatedly ignored their warnings to remove a mask that she was wearing, which means she likely was an Antifa.

Notwithstanding the hate-America media’s efforts to paint the rally as “white racist/nationalist/supremacist” (see DCG’s “NBC News reporter tries to set narrative for Lobby Day/gun rights rally in VA today“), the rally was peaceful and the participants were diverse, including Blacks, LGBTs, and Democrats (!). Some protesters even brought their babies.

Below are photo images from the rally as testimony (sources: Richmond Times Dispatch; Daily Wire).

We begin with this pic that brought tears to my eyes:

One look at this pic, you’ll totally understand why Antifa punks chickened out:

Sheriffs showed their support!

Blacks showed up in large numbers, a fact that went widely under-reported by the media. Some of them were armed.

One black Second Amendment supporter told Breitbart News:

“I do not support in any way, shape, or form Governor Northam’s and the Democrats’ gun control. What I also don’t support is the fact that every news piece you’ve seen this weekend they’ve always brought up the issue of race as though it’s nothing but white rednecks and hillbillies out here who care for the Second Amendment, when actually black Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, Americans in general care about the Second Amendment. I work a gun store part-time and I can’t tell you the number of customers I see of all races, all colors, all creeds, who care about the Second Amendment and who just peaceably live their lives, enjoy their rights and the Second Amendment. So, that’s why I’m out here and big media, mainstream media be damned, if you take a good look at me you can see that I’m a black American and all I’m out here for is to enjoy my Second Amendment rights. That’s why I’m here.”

Here’s a Black man stating why he came to the rally.

A Black woman was at the “white supremacist” [eyeroll] rally.

LGBTs were at the rally, carrying the rainbow flag.

Some parents even brought their babies to the peaceful rally.

Hey, Gov. Northam and the Democrat legislators of Virginia, did you get the message loud and clear?

NBC News reporter tries to set narrative for Lobby Day/gun rights rally in VA today

Yesterday Ben Collins, a reporter for NBC News, tried to frame the narrative for the Lobby Day protest in Virginia today. He tweeted – then deleted – the following:

He tweeted this because three men suspected of being members of a neo-Nazi hate group, including a former reservist in the Canadian Army, had weapons and discussed traveling Virginia’s rally.

After being schooled, he deleted the tweet and issued this correction:

“Hi everybody! I’m deleting a tweet so I can be super clear about tomorrow’s rally in Virginia.

The Lobby Day protest is and has traditionally been a gun rights rally, but white nationalists, including militant group The Base, have been planning violent action at the event.”

According to Breitbart, Moms Demand and Gov. Coonman have been trying to set the same narrative.

How ironic that a reporter warns others to verify information while he’s spreading #fakenews about an event that has yet to occur. Gotta get their narrative out there so it can be repeated and shared so the truth won’t matter.

Quite typical of the liberal hacks in media today.

The liberal logic of Gov. “Coonman” Northam

Last night I decided to checkout Coonman’s Twitter timeline to see what he was saying about gun rights in Virginia.

Instead I was given an opportunity to see some of his liberal logic on display regarding abortion and children.

He retweeted his wife’s tweet (from 1/2019): “For the next four years @RalphNortham and I look forward to working to make a difference in the lives of children. To me that is what #TheWayAhead is all about. Let’s start at the beginning with our greatest treasure. Our children.

Following that, Coonman retweeted Senator Saslaw’s tweet: “As my friend, @RalphNortham, would say. There’s no excuse that a group of legislators, most of whom are men, should be telling women what they can and cannot do with their bodies. In response to a retweet of this: NARAL Pro-Choice VA @NARALVirginia: “.@SenatorLocke and @JennMcClellanVA bills to repeal some TRAP restrictions were rolled together by the Education & Health Committee and will now be voted on as one. @SenatorLocke: “Women know what they’re doing.” #REPEALAct

I guess the only children we should treasure are the ones women deem are #TheWayAhead.

Liberal logic: It’s not designed to make sense.

Virginia anti-gun rights Gov. Northam (D) declares state of emergency

Since last November 6’s election that gave control of Virginia’s entire state government to Democrats, led by pro-abort Gov. Ralph Northam (D), Democrats have been on a tear to impose gun control. See:

In response is a massive backlash by Virginia gun owners:

  • Local officials have issued pro-Second Amendment statements vowing to protect citizens’ gun rights against state authorities.
  • Cities and counties are forming militias and sanctuaries (see “Virginians are forming sanctuaries and militias against the anticipated gun grab“). As of  January 14, 2020, 130 counties and cities have passed sanctuary measures.
  • Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL), a grassroots gun-rights organization, called for a rally next Monday, January 20, at the state capitol in Richmond, to lobby VA legislators not to vote away Virginians’ Second Amendment-guaranteed gun rights. VCDL President Phillip Van Cleave told Liberty Nation “the state is green with sanctuaries” and that he expects a massive turnout.

Monday, January 20, is Martin Luther King Jr. Day — a day known as “Lobby day” in Virginia politics as advocates for a number of causes use the holiday to try and buttonhole lawmakers. On that day, pro-gun and gun-control advocates would hold rallies. Jeff Katz, the host of a popular radio show on WRVA, said thousands of citizens are expected at the gun-rights rally next Monday because “People are outraged. This is the tipping point.”

Democrat Ralph Northam had men in black face and a KKK hood in his 1984 medical school yearbook.

Reacting to the planned rally, Governor Northam declared a state of emergency banning guns and “weapons of all kinds” from the state capitol beginning tomorrow, January 17, through next Tuesday, January 21.

The Associated Press reports that on Jan. 15, 2020, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam declared a state of emergency over threats of “armed militia groups storming our Capitol” ahead of a gun-rights rally next Monday. The emergency order will ban weapons of all kinds, including firearms, helmets and shields, from the Capitol grounds starting Friday and continuing through Tuesday.

Northam said the emergency order was necessary to protect public safety because of potential violence from out-of-state groups at the Monday rally. Claiming that “law enforcement agencies” consider the rally to pose “credible, serious threats,” Northam said some of the rhetoric used by groups planning to attend Monday’s rally is similar to what was said in the lead-up to last year’s so-called “white nationalist” rally in Charlottesville, VA, and that “We will not allow that mayhem and violence to happen here.”

Virginia Republicans, who did not even field candidates in many precincts in last November’s election, thereby ceding victory to the Democrats, were mixed in their response:

  • VA House Minority Leader Del. Todd Gilbert lamented that “there are legitimate concerns of a few bad actors hijacking the rally.”
  • But Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Jack Wilson condemned Northam’s declaration in a statement: “Northam and the rest of the Virginia Democrats have made their session goal crystal clear: a disarmed, vulnerable, and subservient citizenry.”

Northam’s emergency announcement comes days after Democratic leaders used a special rules committee to ban guns inside the Capitol and a legislative office building. That ban did not include Capitol grounds, which are under the governor’s control.

InfoWars has an audio recording of an unnamed Virginia State police officer saying that Barack Obama is orchestrating (“running”) Northam’s state of emergency, and that “there are people in high places in [VA] government” who are “told to do…ignore Trump, pipe down, and the people are just scared and just frustrated.”

On the Todd Starnes radio show, Liberty University president, Jerry Falwell Jr. vows he will “call for civil disobedience if the Democrats go through with this [state of emergency]. You don’t mess with people’s guns in this part of the state. They [Democrats] don’t know what they’ve gotten into and they’re going to find out the hard way, I’m afraid.”

Virginians form sanctuaries and militias against governor & state legislature gun grab

Virginia was a “swing” state in presidential elections.

On Tuesday, November 6, 2019, however, the state became a solid “blue”. With Democrats already holding the state’s three highest offices (governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general), after two years of Republican control of the state House and Senate by single-seat majorities, the voters of Virginia saw fit to give Democrats full control of the state government for the first time since 1994 by giving Democrats majority control of the state legislature as well.

Gun control was the Democrats’ major theme in the November 6th elections. They received $2.5 million in funding from 2020 Democrat presidential candidate (((Michael Bloomberg)))’s Everytown for Gun Safety. The four Virginia prosecutors who won on Nov. 6 were also funded by another billionaire leftist, George Soros.

Virginia’s pro-abort Gov. Ralph Northam (D), 60, wasted no time in pushing his gun control agenda. The morning after the election, Northam told CNN he would reintroduce a package of gun control laws in January, including universal background checks, “red flag” laws, and bans on bump stocks and high volume magazines. Northam said: “I’m convinced, with the majority now in the House and the Senate, they’ll become law.” See “Elections have consequences: ‘Blue’ Virginia goes whole hog for gun control”.

Democrats in the Virginia State Senate also hit the ground running:

  • 12 days after the election, on November 18, 2019, 79-year-old pro-abort state senator Dick Saslaw (D) introduced a bill, SB 16, effectively to confiscate “assault firearms” and “certain firearm magazine” by outlawing their possession. See “‘Blue’ Virginia State Senate bill to confiscate ‘assault firearms’”.
  • Three days later, on November 21, 2019,state senator Louise Lucas (D) introduced a bill, SB 64, that violates the U.S. Constitution’s First and Second Amendments by criminalizing instruction and training in using firearms and in self-defense, “assembling” with others to target shoot, as well as march or parade while carrying a firearm. See “‘Blue’ Virginia senate bill to ban firearm and martial arts instruction”.

In response, Virginians who jealously guard their liberty, especially our Constitutional right to “bear arms,” are fighting back by forming Second Amendment sanctuaries and militias.

(1) Second Amendment sanctuaries

To begin, more than 80 counties in Virginia have adopted Second Amendment sanctuary resolutions declaring that county police will not enforce state-level gun laws that violate Second Amendment rights.

As examples, Halifax county overwhelmingly passed a resolution opposing any new gun control legislation that might be passed in the coming state assembly. In southwestern Buchanan County, residents signed a statement demanding the resignation of Gov. Northam.

Sanctuary resolutions, however, have failed to gain support in the urban and densely-populated counties of Virginia, such as Roanoke, Richmond, Arlington, Loudon and Henrico. In Roanoke, as an example, a resolution was defeated at a meeting of the all-Democrat Roanoke City Council where more than 50 gun rights supporters had voiced concerns before Mayor Sherman Lea.

Virginia is not the first state where counties have passed Second Amendment sanctuary resolutions. Similar measures have found success in Illinois, Alaska, Wyoming, and Oregon over the past decade.

In response to the populist movement of Second Amendment sanctuaries, Virginia’s Democratic officials are resorting to threats and intimidation (Washington Examiner):

  • Democratic Virginia Rep. Gerry Connolly threatens to prosecute county police who refuse to enforce future gun control measures, saying: “I would hope they either resign in good conscience, because they cannot uphold the law which they are sworn to uphold, or they’re prosecuted for failure to fulfill their oath. The law is the law. If that becomes the law, you don’t have a choice, not if you’re a sworn officer of the law.”
  • Democratic Virginia Rep. Donald McEachin suggests cutting off state funds to counties that do not comply with any gun control measures that pass in Richmond: “If the sheriff’s department is not going to enforce the law, they’re going to lose money. The counties’ attorneys offices are not going to have the money to prosecute.” McEachin also said that Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam could call the National Guard, if necessary: “And ultimately…the governor may have to nationalize the National Guard to enforce the law.”

The threat to sic the National Guard on sanctuary counties led to this defiant statement from a member of the Virginia National Guard. He told Law Enforcement Today, referring to Rep. McEachin:

If you and your fellow Constitution-hating hacks continue to push an agenda of gun banning, forfeiture and confiscation, I can almost assure you that you might meet more than one requirement for enacting martial law.

If you force local law enforcement to start violating peoples 2nd Amendment rights by taking their guns, you will wind up with temporary emergency due to an occupied territory.

There are people who will dig in. They will fortify their habitations. They will stand firm in their resolution to exercise their un-infringed right. And it will get ugly….

And oh, by the way, plan on seeing the vast majority of the Virginia National Guard become Conscientious Objectors. It will be really hard for them to arrest cops and confiscate guns when none of them will carry the necessary arms to enforce said arrests and confiscations.

How do I know this? I am one of them and will be one of the first to lay down my gun and walk away.

I will not be a pawn in a tyrannical game of human chess. Neither will most of the men and women I serve with.

(2) Militia

On December 20, 2019, Law Enforcement Today (LET) reports that a “growing number of people” have told LET they’re joining the militia. Significantly, these “growing number of people” aren’t just the traditional “three percenters,” but are “a melting pot of people who have had enough” — cops (both active and retired), military veterans, moms, blacks, whites, straight and gay.

For reporting on the “growing number” of Virginians who say they’re joining militias, LET received an anonymous threat from someone who claims to be a member of Congress. The note says:

“Your reporting about the growing numbers in the militia create a clear and present threat to America.  As part of Congress, I’m giving you fair warning that this is the equivalent of shouting ‘fire’ in a movie theater. If your reporting incites violence, or can even be tied to it, we will make sure to charge your editors with felonies.”

One of the militias being formed is in Tazewell County.

Law Enforcement Today (LET) reports that on December 10, 2019, by unanimous votes of its board of supervisors and to the cheer of more than 200 citizens, Tazewell County passed two resolutions. The first declared the county to be a Second Amendment sanctuary; the second resolution officially formed a citizens’ militia to defend the Constitution.

The resolutions also:

  • Remove funding for any law enforcement department that infringe residents’ right to keep and bear arms.
  • Call for concealed weapons training for any resident of the county who can lawfully own a gun.
  • Call for schools to adopt firearms safety training programs.

“Within hours” of reporting that Tazewell County’s formation of a militia, LET was “flooded” with thousands of emails from people across the state – police officers, veterans, and patriotic Americans – who said they are joining. “And it’s a movement that’s gaining traction across the state.”

Virginia is shaping up to be the place where the battle for our Constitutional rights will begin. Molon Labe!H/t CSM, Anon and John Molloy

‘Blue’ Virginia State Senate bill to confiscate ‘assault firearms’

Virginia was considered a “swing” state in presidential elections, but the state became a solid “blue” on November 6, 2019.

With Democrats already holding the state’s three highest offices (governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general), after two years of Republican control in the state House and Senate by single-seat majorities, the voters of Virginia saw fit to give Democrats full control of the state legislature for the first time since 1994. Democrats won at least 21 of 40 seats in the state Senate and 51 seats in the 100-member House of Delegates.

Elections have consequences, and we are witnesses to the dire consequences of Virginia turning “blue”.

To begin, on election night, Virginia’s pro-abort Gov. Ralph Northam (D), 60, a pediatric neurologist by occupation and a former U.S. Army medical officer, wasted no time in pushing his gun control agenda. He declared his plan to reintroduce a package of gun control laws during the next legislative session. See “Elections have consequences: ‘Blue’ Virginia goes whole hog for gun control”.

Northam is joined by the State Senate.

On November 21, 2019, Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas (D) introduced a bill, SB 64: Paramilitary activities; penalty, which violates the U.S. Constitution’s First (“the right of the people peaceably to assemble”) and Second Amendments (“the right of the people to keep and bear Arms”). In the name of banning “paramilitary activities,” SB 64 criminalizes:

  1. Instruction and training in using firearms.
  2. Instruction and training in any “technique capable of causing injury or death to persons“, which can be construed to mean women’s self-defense, boxing, fencing, and the martial arts.
  3. Assembling with others to target shoot in a gun range.
  4. Assembling with others to perform “technique capable of causing injury or death to persons“, which can be construed to mean being in a boxing or martial arts studio.
  5. Marching or parading while carrying a firearm.

See “‘Blue’ Virginia senate bill to ban firearm and martial arts instruction”.

There is also another noxious bill in the Virginia State Senate which will outright confiscate “assault firearms” and “certain firearm magazines”. The bill, SB 16, was introduced by 79-year-old pro-abort State Senator Dick Saslaw (D) on November 18, 2019.

Below are the pertinent sections of SB 16:

  • Under SB 16 § 18.2-308.2:1 “Prohibiting the selling, etc., of firearms to certain persons,” is sub-section B. 1., which says: “no dealer shall sell, rent, trade, or transfer from his inventory any assault firearm to any person”.
  • A “dealer” is defined as “any person licensed as a dealer pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 921 et seq.” and specifies that “any dealer who willfully and intentionally sells, rents, trades or transfers a firearm in violation of this section shall be guilty of a Class 6 felony.”
  • Furthermore, SB 16’s § 18.2-308.8 also criminalizes the import, sale, transfer, manufacture, purchase, possession, or transport of an “assault firearm,” punishable as a Class 6 felony.
  • § 18.2-308.9 criminalizes the import, sale, barter, or transfer of “certain firearm magazines” that are “designed to hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition,” punishable as a Class 1 misdemeanor.

SB 16 § 18.2-308.8 defines “assault firearm” as:

1. A semi-automatic center-fire rifle that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material with a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 10 rounds;

2. A semi-automatic center-fire rifle that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has one of the following characteristics: (i) a folding or telescoping stock; (ii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the rifle; (iii) a thumbhole stock; (iv) a second handgrip or a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand; (v) a bayonet mount; (vi) a grenade launcher; (vii) a flare launcher; (viii) a silencer; (ix) a flash suppressor; (x) a muzzle brake; (xi) a muzzle compensator; (xii) a threaded barrel capable of accepting (a) a silencer, (b) a flash suppressor, (c) a muzzle brake, or (d) a muzzle compensator; or (xiii) any characteristic of like kind as enumerated in clauses (i) through (xii);

3. A semi-automatic center-fire pistol that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material with a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 10 rounds;

4. A semi-automatic center-fire pistol that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine and has one of the following characteristics: (i) a folding or telescoping stock; (ii) a thumbhole stock; (iii) a second handgrip or a protruding grip that can be held by the non-trigger hand; (iv) the capacity to accept a magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip; (v) a shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the pistol with the non-trigger hand without being burned; (vi) a manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded; (vii) a threaded barrel capable of accepting (a) a silencer, (b) a flash suppressor, (c) a barrel extender, or (d) a forward handgrip; or (viii) any characteristic of like kind as enumerated in clauses (i) through (vii);

5. A shotgun with a revolving cylinder that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material; or

6. A semi-automatic shotgun that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material that has one of the following characteristics: (i) a folding or telescoping stock, (ii) a thumbhole stock, (iii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the shotgun, (iv) the ability to accept a detachable magazine, (v) a fixed magazine capacity in excess of seven rounds, or (vi) any characteristic of like kind as enumerated in clauses (i) through (v).

“Assault firearm” includes any part or combination of parts designed or intended to convert, modify, or otherwise alter a firearm into an assault firearm, or any combination of parts that may be readily assembled into an assault firearm. “Assault firearm” does not include (i) a firearm that has been rendered permanently inoperable, (ii) an antique firearm as defined in § 18.2-308.2:2, or (iii) a curio or relic as defined in § 18.2-308.2:2.

Since SB 16 bans the possession of “assault firearms,” that means the “assault firearms” now owned by Virginians will be confiscated.

Exempt from SB 16 are, of course, the Virginia state government and law enforcement officers.

On November 21, 2019, Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas (D) introduced a bill that seeks to ban “paramilitary activities” by criminalizing:

  1. Instruction and training in using firearms.

  4. Assembling with others to perform “technique capable of causing injury or death to persons“, which can be construed to mean being in a boxing or martial arts studio.
  5. Marching or parading while carrying a firearm.

The bill is SB 64: Paramilitary activities; penalty. Here is the full text of SB 64 (I provided the bold in red):

SENATE BILL NO. 64
Offered January 8, 2020
Prefiled November 21, 2019
A BILL to amend and reenact § 18.2-433.2 of the Code of Virginia, relating to paramilitary activities; penalty.

———-

———-
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 18.2-433.2 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 18.2-433.2. Paramilitary activity prohibited; penalty.

A person shall be is guilty of unlawful paramilitary activity, punishable as a Class 5 felony if he:

1. Teaches or demonstrates to any other person the use, application, or making of any firearm, explosive, or incendiary device, or technique capable of causing injury or death to persons, knowing or having reason to know or intending that such training will be employed for use in, or in furtherance of, a civil disorder; or

2. Assembles with one or more persons for the purpose of training with, practicing with, or being instructed in the use of any firearm, explosive, or incendiary device, or technique capable of causing injury or death to persons, intending to employ such training for use in, or in furtherance of, a civil disorder; or

3. Assembles with one or more persons with the intent of intimidating any person or group of persons by drilling, parading, or marching with any firearm, any explosive or incendiary device, or any components or combination thereof.

2. That the provisions of this act may result in a net increase in periods of imprisonment or commitment. Pursuant to § 30-19.1:4 of the Code of Virginia, the estimated amount of the necessary appropriation cannot be determined for periods of imprisonment in state adult correctional facilities; therefore, Chapter 854 of the Acts of Assembly of 2019 requires the Virginia Criminal Sentencing Commission to assign a minimum fiscal impact of $50,000. Pursuant to § 30-19.1:4 of the Code of Virginia, the estimated amount of the necessary appropriation cannot be determined for periods of commitment to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.

On November 6, Louise Lucas was reelected with 93.1% of the vote, with no opposition from Virginia’s Republican Party.

Elections have consequences: ‘Blue’ Virginia goes whole hog for gun control

Last May, after a mass shooting that left 13 people dead at a Virginia Beach municipal building by a city engineer armed with two .45-caliber handguns, Virginia’s Democrat governor Ralph Northam asked state lawmakers to hold a special session to discuss gun control. The Republican-controlled legislature met for just 90 minutes, and left without voting on any gun-control proposals.

Virginia was considered a “swing” state in presidential elections. On Tuesday, November 6, 2019, the state became a solid “blue”. With Democrats already holding the state’s three highest offices (governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general), after two years of Republican control in the state House and Senate by single-seat majorities, the voters of Virginia saw fit to give Democrats full control of the state government for the first time since 1994. Democrats won at least 21 of 40 seats in the state Senate and 51 seats in the 100-member House of Delegates.

Virginia’s pro-abort Gov. Ralph Northam (D), 60, a pediatric neurologist by occupation and a former U.S. Army medical officer, wasted no time in pushing his gun control agenda.

As reported by Justine Wise for The Hill, in a statement Tuesday night, Northam crowed that the “ground has shifted in Virginia government. Since I took office two years ago, we have made historic progress as a Commonwealth. Tonight, Virginians made it clear they want us to continue building on that progress.” He claimed that the results signaled that voters wanted state lawmakers to take action on issues such as gun safety and climate change.

Early the next morningt on CNN’s “New Day“, Northam said he planned to reintroduce a package of gun control laws during the next legislative session: “Things like universal background checks. Getting rid of bump stocks, high volume magazines, ‘red flag’ laws. These are commonsense pieces of legislation. I will introduce those again in January. And I’m convinced, with the majority now in the House and the Senate, they’ll become law and because of that Virginia will be safer.”

In fact, gun control was a major theme for Democrats running in Tuesday’s elections, who had a commitment from Everytown for Gun Safety, the group funded by former New York City Mayor (((Michael Bloomberg))), to spend $2.5 million on Democratic candidates. The four Virginia prosecutors who won on Tuesday were also funded by another billionaire leftist, George Soros.

Everytown for Gun Safety’s president, (((John Feinblatt))), said in a statement that the Democrats’ victories would “resonate around the country, and should terrify elected officials up and down the ballot who have stood in the way of gun safety.” Referring to Bloomberg, the National Rifle Association said the election results meant Virginians would now experience life under a “distant tycoon’s thumb.”
