Kevin Hart steps down from hosting Oscars after refusing Academy demand

Kevin Hart: The wrong man…

The progressive mob recently had their panties in a wad over the “Cowboys and Indians” birthday party Hart had for his son.

Hart should have learned that you never cave to the SJW mob.

From Hollywood Reporter: Kevin Hart is stepping down as Oscars host just two days after the Academy announced he would take on the high-profile gig. The move came amid a mounting controversy after old tweets surfaced in which Hart expressed anti-gay sentiments and used homophobic terminology and slurs.

In a tweet late Thursday, Hart officially withdrew from hosting the Oscars, a role he had long wanted to step into. “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past,” Hart wrote.

He added seconds later, “I’m sorry that I hurt people. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.”

Earlier in the evening, Hart had posted an Instagram video from Sydney, Australia, where he is touring, saying that he had refused a demand from the Academy to apologize. He said the Academy gave him an ultimatum: Apologize for his old tweets or step down as Oscars host.

“I passed. The reason I passed is because I’ve addressed this several times. This is not the first time this has come up,” he said. “Regardless, to the Academy, I’m thankful for the opportunity, if it goes away, no harm, no foul,” Hart added.

Ironically, in giving up the hosting spot, Hart actually offered the apology that earlier he had refused to provide.

The Academy did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

But for the Academy, the situation smacks of déjà vu. In late 2011, Brett Ratner resigned as producer of the 84th Academy Awards after saying “rehearsal is for fags” in a public Q&A for his film Tower Heist. Ratner’s exit led to the departure of Eddie Murphy, that year’s announced host, who stepped down in solidarity. (Billy Crystal filled in.)

Losing Hart as host will put even more pressure on Donna Gigliotti, who is producing the 91st Oscars, set to be broadcast by ABC on Feb. 24. This week’s announcement that Hart would host came relatively late in the process. Now, finding a new host to take on emcee duties could be even more difficult.

Earlier in the day, Hart issued an Instagram video in which he said, “I swear, man, our world is becoming beyond crazy. I’m not going to let the craziness frustrate me or anger me, especially when I worked hard to get to the mental space that I am at now.”

He continued, “My team calls me, ‘Oh, my God, Kevin, this world is upset about tweets you did years ago.’Guys. I’m almost 40 years old. If you don’t believe that people change, grow, evolve as they get older, I don’t know what to tell you. If you want to hold people in a position where they always have to justify or explain their past, then do you. I’m the wrong guy, man,” Hart says. “I’m in a great place, a great mature place, where all I do is spread positivity.”

The tweets in question included a 2011 tweet in which the comedian and movie star had written, “Yo if my son comes home & try’s 2 play with my daughters doll house I’m going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice ‘stop that’s gay.'” In another from 2010, Hart says someone’s profile pic looks “like a gay bill board for AIDS.” In another written in 2009, he called someone a “fat faced fag.”

Those tweets and many more like them could be found as recently as Tuesday, the day Hart was announced as host. But as word of them began to spread in the days following, they began to disappear.

The tweets drew condemnation from the likes of actor-comedian Billy Eichner, who tweeted, “You can tell its not just a joke — there’s real truth, anger & fear behind these. I hope Kevin’s thinking has evolved since 2011.”

Journalist Mark Harris went even further, tweeting the choice of Hart as host was “out-of-sync for a year in which Rami Malek, Melissa McCarthy, Olivia Colman, Mahershala Ali, Richard E. Grant, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz and Lucas Hedges could all get nominated for playing LBGTQ characters.”

GLAAD reached out to ABC, the Academy and Hart’s management to “discuss his rhetoric and record as well as opportunities for positive LGBTQ inclusion on the Oscars stage,” said Rich Ferraro, chief communications officer for GLAAD. He said they did not immediately respond.

GLAAD responded to Hart’s decision to step down in a statement on Friday morning.

“Kevin Hart shouldn’t have stepped down; he should have stepped up,” said GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. “Hart’s apology to LGBTQ people is an important step forward, but he missed a real opportunity to use his platform and the Oscars stage to build unity and awareness. We would still welcome that conversation with him. The Academy has recently made significant strides in featuring diverse talent onstage and they should now double down on that commitment as they look for a new host.”

It was not the first time Hart’s thoughts on LGBTQ people have caused controversy. A 2011 standup routine about his then 3-year-old son having a “gay moment” — “You’ve got to nip it in the bud!” he warned the audience — was criticized as promoting homophobic and dangerous parentingaccording to The Guardian.

SJWs push for Disney’s first lesbian couple after seeing trailer for Pixar’s “Finding Dory”

Just who are these audiences pushing for this? The SJWs, who probably are being promoted on Twitter.

A lesbian couple in Finding Dory?

A lesbian couple in Finding Dory?

Via Daily Mail: The trailer for Pixar’s Finding Dory has been released to both fanfare and controversy after viewers pointed out the two-minute clip may feature a lesbian couple.
While some parents already declared they would be boycotting the follow-up to Finding Nemo after the latest trailer was released last week, others rejoiced and pledged their support for the film.
Audiences have been pushing the animation studio for greater LGBT representation, with recent campaigns on social media calling for Frozen’s Queen Elsa to be paired off with another woman in the upcoming sequel.
Finding Dory has already garnered considerable buzz for its June release after the latest trailer dropped last week, racking up more than four million views. At one point in the clip, Tank the octopus makes its way into a stroller, and two women turn around, shocked that the baby has suddenly transformed into an eight-legged sea creature.
One viewer suggested the women were a couple, and Twitter lit up with excitement over the possibility.
While subtly suggested gay characters have made an appearance in Pixar films like Frozen and Zootopia, viewers celebrated what could be the animation studio’s first-ever representation of lesbians.
Disney Pixar has not commented or confirmed the rumor, but fans were elated.
Twitter user @epicbookloover wrote: ‘Finding dory has a lesbian couple Pixar has gayness yes yes yes I am about to start crying so hard’
Others, like Twitter user @PerfectAlycia, poked holes in the rumor. She wrote: ‘Finding Dory may have a lesbian couple, or just two women standing next to each other idk-‘
Amidst the excitement were calls to boycott the film, but @_AllieNicole wrote: ‘pretty sure @DisneyPixar is gonna do just fine on @findingdory w/o the people promising to boycott it for minor characters, but you do you.’

Others pointed out that no one was upset when Ellen DeGeneres, one of the most famous lesbians in Hollywood, reprised her role as the voice of Dory.
Mattie Stretton wrote: ‘People going mental over a supposed lesbian couple in the Finding Dory trailer but forgetting the voice of f***ing dory is the queen of lesbians.’
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) released an annual survey in April, assessing LGBT representation in film. Disney, along with Paramount, were named as two studios failing to feature a single gay or lesbian character in any of their films last year.
A social media campaign for the upcoming Frozen film has made a considerable impact, with Idina Menzel, the singer behind the film’s hit song Let It Go, chiming in to support those asking Pixar to ‘Give Elsa a Girlfriend’. ‘I think it’s great,’ the 44-year-old told ET, before adding, ‘Disney’s just gotta contend with that. I’ll let them figure that out.’
This comes at a time where audiences are clamoring for increased diversity in film and TV (according to whom, GLAAD?).

Gaystapo lose: A&E returns Phil Robertson to "Duck Dynasty"

Phil Robertson
Fox News reports, Dec. 28, 2013:
The A&E Network announced Friday it would resume filming “Duck Dynasty” with Phil Robertson and the rest of his family next spring.
Robertson had been indefinitely suspended by the network on Dec. 18 for comments he made about homosexuality in an interview with GQ Magazine.
The removal of the 67-year-old family patriarch triggered support from gay rights organizations but objections from many fans of the show, including such political figures as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal.
There was no immediate response from the Robertson family to A&E’s announcement.
The fifth season of the family series originally had been scheduled to start Jan. 15 but until Friday’s announcement, its future had been uncertain.
In a statement released late Friday afternoon, A&E said, “While Phil’s comments made in the (GQ) interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the ‘coarse language’ he used and the misinterpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would ‘never incite or encourage hate.’”
The network added that “Duck Dynasty is not a show about one man’s views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family, a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A&E Networks also feel strongly about. So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.”
“Duck Dynasty” is the top-rated reality program on cable, according to the Hollywood Reporter, with an average 13.4 million viewers and a marketing franchise in such outlets as Walmart, Sears and Cracker Barrel restaurants – which briefly removed the “Dynasty” items after Robertson’s suspension.
In a statement Friday night to Fox News, the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination said “dialog” between Robertson and the black and gay communities was a critical next step.
“Phil Robertson should look African-American and gay people in the eyes and hear about the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists,” the statement said. “If dialog with Phil is not part of next steps, then A&E has chosen profits over African-American and gay people — especially its employees and viewers.
Jindal released a statement Friday night saying, “I am glad to hear that the folks at A&E came to their senses and recognized that tolerance of religious views is more important than political correctness.  Today is a good day for the freedoms of speech and religious liberty.”
Family Research Council president Tony Perkins said in a statement following A&E’s announcement, “The attacks on Phil Robertson revealed to the American people that the push to redefine marriage is less about the marriage altar than it is fundamentally altering America’s moral, political and cultural landscape. A&E Network’s reversal in the face of backlash is quite telling to the American people who are growing tired of GLAAD and cultural elites who want to silence people and remove God and His word from every aspect of public life.”

This incident shows that Americans can rally together to fight back against the Left’s agenda.
But this victory is a small and transitory one in the long defeat of the Culture War.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Fallout: GLAAD Reeling From Biggest Backlash in Years

glaad
Yahoo: In the fallout over Wednesday’s suspension of “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson by A&E for anti-gay and racist remarks his personal beliefs and opinions, GLAAD is experiencing record levels of backlash.

“In the five-and-a-half years I’ve worked at GLAAD, I’ve never received so many violently angry phone calls and social media posts attacking GLAAD for us speaking out against these comments,” the media watchdog organization’s vice president of communications Rich Ferraro told TheWrap.

He said those reactions range from those who simply believe as Robertson believes to those who feel that GLAAD and A&E’s actions limit the reality star’s free speech.
“I don’t think this is about the first amendment,” Ferraro said. “I feel it’s more about the America we live in today. That is one where Americans, gay and straight, are able to speak out when people in the public eye make anti-gay and racist remarks statements we don’t agree with.”

Robertson’s supporters have started petitions, called for boycotts and include Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity and Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal. Currently, more than 70,000 people have signed the online petition asking A&E to drop the suspension.

“It just means we still have a lot of work to do,” Ferraro said.
GLAAD spoke with A&E representatives on Wednesday morning to discuss why people would be offended by the comments and calls to action. ”They took this very seriously, as soon as the news broke,” Ferraro said.
After the meeting, GLAAD issued its statement on Robertson’s comments. A&E initially released a statement from Robertson in which he said he would “never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me.” But the network declined to comment itself until Wednesday night, when it announced the suspension, which GLAAD applauded.
“We believe the next step is to use this as an opportunity for Phil to sit down with gay families in Louisiana and learn about their lives and the values they share,” the spokesman said.
The organization is also currently researching companies who use Robertson as a spokesperson. “Silence is agreement in this case,” he said. “With such egregious anti-gay and racist comments, those companies that choose to be affiliated with this family need to speak out.”

Kirk Cameron now a target…

tol-er-ance: The capacity for or the practice of recognizing and respecting the beliefs or practices of others…

Kirk Cameron Blasted by GLAAD Over Gay Marriage Comments
TMZ:  Kirk Cameron’s comments to Piers Morgan on gay marriage are not sitting well with the folks at GLAAD … who think the former “Growing Pains” star “sounds even more dated than his 1980s TV character.”
Cameron said during last night’s show that he does not support gay marriage, and when it comes to homosexuality in general … he said, “I think that it’s … unnatural. I think that it’s detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”
Herndon Graddick, Senior Director of Programs at GLAAD, tells TMZ he feels Cameron, a Born Again Christian, is “out of step with a vast majority of Americans, particularly people of faith who believe that their gay and lesbian brothers and sisters should be loved and accepted based on their character and not condemned because of their sexual orientation.”
A GLAAD spokesman says they plan on monitoring Cameron’s media bookings and various acting gigs to ensure “the news and entertainment industry is aware of his outrageous anti-gay views.”
[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W3Wix0rlgU]
I’m sick and tired of bleeding heart liberals calling themselves the tolerant ones when, in fact, they have no tolerance if you don’t agree with them. Why isn’t Kirk allowed to express his personal Christian beliefs without being condemned?  Why must he get in line with the “vast majority of Americans”?
You want to be gay?  Have at it.  I don’t care what you do in the privacy of your home.  But that doesn’t mean I, as a Christian, have to change my belief that marriage is between a man and a woman.
Can you imagine the backlash if Christians decided to monitor GLAAD’s activities to bring attention to their outrageous anti-Christian views?
