Month nine of Wuhan virus and Los Angeles County is implementing another “safer-at-home” order. Cases are on the rise so certain public and private gatherings are prohibited, a decree lasting until Dec. 20. Exempt from this decree: church and public protests.
This “decree” was issued because of a fifth consecutive day of 4,500 or more new cases of Wuhan virus. Demorat Mayor Eric Garcetti tweeted the following yesterday:
There are 2,316 people hospitalized for COVID-19 in the county — the highest number since the start of the pandemic.
This is as serious as it gets. We must flatten the curve to avoid overwhelming our hospital system.
Please take every precaution to help stop the spread.

Sounds like a scary situation, right? Let’s take a look at the numbers, shall we?
Los Angeles County has a population of 10 million.
According to the Los Angeles County Wuhan virus dashboard, the county has a cumulative case count of 381,535. That’s less than four percent of the county population.
There are currently 2,316 people hospitalized with Wuhan virus OR suspect COVID-19. Of those confirmed cases, 24% are in ICU beds.
But look at this number: Of those hospitalized in Los Angeles County due to Wuhan virus, 73% are Hispanic. The next highest number is “other,” with 11%. African Americans make up 6% of those hospitalized and white just 2%.
Next number: Of those Wuhan virus cases admitted to the ICU, Hispanics makes up 70%. The next “known” ethnicity categories in ICU are Asian and African American – each make up 5% of the ICU admissions.
According to the 2018 US Census data, Hispanics account for 48.5 percent of the Los Angeles County population.
I’m not a health expert or a bureaucrat but isn’t the rather large number of Hispanics hospitalized in Los Angeles County disproportionate to their total population number? Could it have something to do with the fact that California is a sanctuary state? Or that cases are spiking in California along the Mexican border?
From my blog post “Why you should support border control: El Paso hospitals full of Wuhan virus patients from Mexico” on November 19:
“Todd Bensman (senior national security fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies) stated, “I just talked to a doctor in Arizona who told me 75 percent of patients in the hospital there are Mexican. And it’s happening in California too.”
Heaven forbid Los Angeles County bureaucrats evaluate the real source of the rise in Wuhan virus hospitalizations. Because it’s obvious to me that a certain ethnicity is responsible, based upon their own data. Seems that it would be prudent to determine their travel patterns or at least intensify contract tracing with those patients.
But that would probably be deemed raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacist.
Instead, ALL peons must be punished. That’s liberal logic for ‘ya.
