SF mayor says President Trump’s remarks on used needles “pouring into the ocean” is ridiculous

Mayor London Breed

Someone may want to tell the good mayor that needles wash into oceans from the beaches and other land areas. But that would mean she’d have to acknowledge what a sh*thole her city has become.

From SF Gate: San Francisco Mayor London Breed called President Donald Trump’s claim that used drug needles are pouring into the ocean “ridiculous” in a statement Wednesday night.

At the tail end of his California visit on Wednesday, Trump threatened to unleash the Environmental Protection Agency on San Francisco, accusing the city of allowing massive amounts of waste, including needles, to go through storm drains into the ocean.

“It’s a terrible situation that’s in Los Angeles and in San Francisco,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One returning to Washington. “And we’re going to be giving San Francisco — they’re in total violation — we’re going to be giving them a notice very soon.”

“They have to clean it up. We can’t have our cities going to hell,” he said.

Breed was quick to respond. “To be clear, San Francisco has a combined sewer system, one of the best and most effective in the country, that ensures that all debris that flow into storm drains are filtered out at the city’s wastewater treatment plants,” she said. “No debris flow out into the bay or the ocean.”

San Francisco has long struggled with problems of human waste and needles on the streets, especially in the Tenderloin district where many addicts and homeless people congregate to access services. The city set up public toilets and last year announced formation of a special six-person “poop patrol” team to clean up the human waste.

The city also announced funding to hire people to pick up used needles.

Many of those needles came from the city itself. The health department hands out an estimated 400,000 clean syringes a month under programs designed to reduce the risk of HIV and other infections for drug users who might otherwise share contaminated needles.

The article closes with this little nugget:

“Breed responded to Trump’s visit on Twitter, writing, “The President is cutting clean air and clean water standards, restricting our ability to regulate car emissions, and denying climate change even exists. He’s cut funding for homelessness and affordable housing. In SF, we’re meeting the challenges on our streets.

Unions Slam Obama EPA Rule

FreeBeaconLabor unions criticized the Environmental Protection Agency’s new regulations on carbon emissions from power plants on Monday, highlighting growing tensions between the environmentalist and working class arms of the Democratic Party.

Those tensions have come to the forefront as leading Democrats embrace environmentalist policies backed by billionaire political donors that are generally opposed by members of the party’s rank and file base.

Some labor unions, groups generally considered loyally Democratic, rebelled on Monday after the EPA released its new regulations, which studies have suggested will carry hefty economic costs.

United Mine Workers of America (UMWA) president Cecil Roberts blasted the proposal, saying it would leave tens of thousands of the union’s members unemployed.

“The proposed rule … will lead to long-term and irreversible job losses for thousands of coal miners, electrical workers, utility workers, boilermakers, railroad workers and others without achieving any significant reduction of global greenhouse gas emissions,” Roberts said in a statement.

According to a UMWA analysis, Roberts said, the rule will cause 75,000 job losses in the coal sector by 2020, rising to 152,000 by 2035.

“When a U.S. government economic multiplier used to calculate the impact of job losses is applied to the entire economy, we estimate that the total impact will be about 485,000 permanent jobs lost,” Roberts said.

Other studies have also found that the rule will lead to significant job losses. An analysis commissioned by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce found that the regulations will “lead to an average of 224,000 fewer U.S. jobs every year through 2030.”

The regulations also drew fire on Monday from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), which warned they “focus solely on the environmental aspect of public policy at the expense of balancing our nation’s economic and energy needs.”

The IBEW cautioned against attempts to reduce carbon emissions “at the expense of a balanced energy portfolio capable of meeting the demands of modern society.”

“The jobs of thousands of working men and women and the well-being of their communities are also worthy of saving,” the union said.

IBEW has previously split with President Barack Obama on key aspects of his energy policy agenda, including the Keystone XL pipeline, which the president has repeatedly refused to approve.

The union has called Keystone “a vital project that would create 20,000 construction and manufacturing jobs, generate $585 million in state and local taxes plus another $5 billion in property taxes and strengthen North America’s energy independence.”

That project has also accentuated divides between the Democratic Party’s environmentalist and working class supporters. A number of labor unions, including IBEW, support the project. However, billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer has promised to spend $100 million in favor of candidates who oppose the pipeline despite its massive popularity.

Some unions have blasted the president’s apparent political motives in delaying the pipeline, most recently in mid-April.

“It’s clear the administration needs to grow a set of antlers, or perhaps take a lesson from Popeye and eat some spinach,” the president of the Laborers International Union of North America said at the time.

Sandra Fluke's Dilemma is Solved – She Needs to be declared an EPA Wetlands Protected Area

Many of you have likely seen the heart rending testimony of Ms. Sandra Fluke, a law student at Georgetown University, before a Congressional Committee a few weeks ago. She was lamenting that no one would subsidize her birth control expenses, which she claimed would amount to $3000 during her three years in law school.
After watching Ms. Fluke describe her desperate situation I set to thinking of ways to help her out of her crisis.
First, of course I had to pass through the grieving period I experienced after hearing of her inhumane treatment at the hands of the Georgetown administration and our Government what cruelty lurks in the heart of men that they would leave this poor woman to fend for herself when all she wanted to do was get laid seven times a day (see my analysis below).
Once I recovered from my grief, I set to thinking about ways to help this poor girl. Being a Physicist, I sat down with my calculator and worked through some numbers.
Ms. Fluke’s expense account for birth control (aka sexual entertainment) was claimed to be $3000 for three years at law school. Let’s presume that as an educated woman she wants to be doubly safe and uses both birth control pills to prevent pregnancy and condoms to prevent STD (sexually transmitted disease).
Using the Wal-Mart cost for birth control pills of $9 per month, her birth control pills will cost her $324 for her entire law school career (if you can call it a career I can think of other names). This leaves only $2676 for her condoms.
I went to Amazon.com, and found quality condoms available for 33 cents each in packages of 60 condoms each. This cost includes tax and shipping. Since she has $2676 for her 33 cent condoms, she will be buying 8109 condoms during her law school “career”.
To use her 8109 condoms (remember, $3000 was Ms. Fluke’s own number) she would have to have sex 7 times a day. This number presumes that she has sex ten times a day on Sundays when she has more free time.
So, having worked through these numbers, I have some suggestions for Ms. Fluke to help her work through her crisis:
1. Find dates that are gentlemanly enough to either provide their own condoms, or at least split the cost with her. Selection criteria is the key to this one.
2. Spend more time studying. Even seven “quickies” a day will seriously cut into quality study time. This would not only save money but would improve her education as well.
3. Seek funding from the EPA from one of their Wetlands Protection programs surely Ms. Fluke’s nether regions would qualify as wetlands given sex seven times a day.
Just trying to help out a starving student.
By the way, the average starting salary of new Georgetown Law School graduates is $160,000 a year, FYI.

Update: Agenda 21- Sacketts v EPA

Mike Sackett, who terms the battle “David versus Goliath,” said at the Supreme Court Monday, “Property owners have their right to their day in court, and the EPA has to be subject to the rule of law.”
He says the couple’s lot sits in a residential neighborhood with sewer lines and homes built all around. The EPA maintains that experts have found wetlands on the lot.
The Natural Resources Defense Council, writing a brief in support of the EPA, said that the Sacketts “should not be rewarded for failing to utilize the multiple administrative processes that they could (and should) have followed to achieve a resolution of their concerns.”
In Monday’s hearing, Justice Elena Kagan questioned why the Sacketts didn’t simply file for a wetlands permit. “Couldn’t you have gotten the legal determination that you wanted through that process?” Attorneys for the Sacketts say the process would be exceptionally costly and time-consuming, especially when they maintain that there is no need for such a permit because their lot doesn’t contain wetlands.
A number of the Justices seemed empathetic to the Sacketts’ argument that, without the ability to sue in federal court, they’d essentially be left with no real way to challenge the EPA’s order or threatened fines.
Justice Samuel Alito asked Justice Department attorney Malcolm Stewart, “Don’t you think most ordinary homeowners would say this kind of thing can’t happen in the United States?
A decision is expected by June.

Agenda 21: Take Action Against Smart Growth – Tell Your Congress to Defund EPA

The pro-Agenda 21/Smart Growth gurus have sent out an Urgent Alert calling for action to maintain funding for their Sustainable Development Communities experiments.
It appears that they are compiling a mailing list.  Clicking the links below takes you to the Smart Growth website where you contact your Congressman through their portal.  Talk about control freaks!      LTG

“..If new development threatened to pollute your drinking water, who would you look to for help? If your children had to walk past a contaminated empty lot on their way to school, how would you go about fixing it?
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Sustainable Communities helps towns and cities address these kinds of problems. These issues pose a threat not only to our health but to our economy, and the Office of Sustainable Communities helps local leaders protect both.
But now the Office itself is in danger. Congress is debating funding for fiscal year 2012, and now is a crucial time to tell your Members of Congress that you support these important programs.
Please take a moment to voice your support: email your Members of Congress today.
The EPA’s Office of Sustainable Communities does more than just protect air and water quality. The Office helps communities develop in ways that are fiscally sound and support their economy for decades to come. And as part of the federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities, the Office also helps make the most of taxpayer investments.
Tell Congress that you do  support the work of the EPA: send an email today.
Emailing your Members of Congress is easy and only takes a few minutes, but your letter could make all the difference. Please take a moment to email Congress today.

Agenda 21: Politico 3-Pager Avoids the “A” Word

What a hoot!  Politico’s article dances all around using the proper name “Agenda 21” in connection with the Rio 2012 Conference but goes into great detail to  describe the pickle Skippy and the Gang are in.  The White House and State Department are already leading an internal working group on the Rio conference with about 15 agencies, including the EPA, the Energy and Commerce departments, the U.S. Trade Representative and the U.S. Agency for International Development.

“We look at Rio as an excellent opportunity to bring the world community together, to give a lot of energy and activity toward promoting sustainable development into the future,” a senior U.S. official said.

But, Obama won’t commit to a trip to RIO in 2012 because it’s such a polarizing issue and he doesn’t want to give the conservatives ammo.  Remember the early days when he actually had political capital? He gassed up Air Force One and the presidential fleet and jetted  off  to the fiasco that was Copenhagen and schlepped back home like a whipped puppy.  (Remember the Danish hookers who literally “laid it on the line” to service to conference participants?)

We have the video of Fearless leader and Agenda 21 kingpin, Sha Zukang, ranting his hatred of America, and defending China’s sovereignty rights, but according to Politico, he was doing  “major suck up” to America in a speech at the National Press Club.

What are the consequences he can expect in the sovereign state of the Peoples Republic of China if he fails in accomplishing the United Nations /Agenda 21 assignment?

Agenda 21- David vs Goliath Test Case?

High court agrees to decide, case goes to the supremes this october

The Backstory:  Priest Lake Couple Battles The EPA Over Property Rights

PRIEST LAKE, Idaho – In November of 2007 officials from the Environmental Protection Agency told Mike and Chantelle Sackett they violated the Clean Water Act by filling in their Priest Lake property without first obtaining a permit because their property is on a federal wetland. The EPA issued a compliance order requiring the Sacketts to remove the fill material and restore the land to its original condition. The Sacketts say they were completely blind sided.

“I started going around and trying to do some background work,” said Chantelle Sackett. “And I figured out there is nothing disclosed anywhere that it is a wetlands, except what they say that it’s in a wetland inventory.” Continue reading
