Obama says guns make us less safe…

…as he surrounds himself with guns

guns make us less safe

Typical Leftist motto: “Do as I say, not as I do”

Friday Howler

Axel + rod + grease = slippery pole

He even says it with a straight face:

“Governor Romney thinks he can operate under a different set of rules, he has a sense of entitlement, that he doesn’t have to operate under the same rules that presidential candidates have for decades. “Not just disclosure on his tax returns, by the way, but who is raising money for him, his so-called ‘bundlers,'” David Axelrod said on CNN tonight.

“He left office in Massachusetts with the hard drives from his computers, with all his records, because he said he didn’t want opposition researchers looking. He did the same thing when he left the Olympics. He has a penchant for secrecy and he thinks he can play by a different set of rules. No, I don’t accept his word on what his taxes say,” Axelrod said.

Powerful: Marco Rubio Speaks the Truth on Debt

A powerful speech by GOP Senator Marco Rubio (Florida) on the Senate floor on the debt ceiling crisis.

Some points that Sen. Rubio made:

How much we are spending more than what we earn: The United States federal government spends about $300 billion a month, and gets revenue of $180 billion a month, which means it must borrow $120 billion a month.

The hypocrisy of Obama and the Dems:

  • For last 2 years , the federal government has operated without a budget because Congress has not proposed a budget for 822 days, although both the House and Senate were controlled by Democrats.
  • By law, Obama, as President, has to propose a budget. But his budget actually increases the debt. Obama has not offered and does not have a plan to fix the problem.
  • The failure of Congress to propose a budget was the real plan all along. The plan is not to take a position, to let the days count down until we get to this point when we have just 72 hours to go, and then force a vote on something that they wanted. That’s been the plan the entire time.

Obama and the Dems accuse anyone who opposes increasing the debt limit as “Tea Party extremists.” Here are three interesting “extremist” quotes:

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.” -Sen. Barack Obama (Illinois), March 16, 2006.

“Because this massive accumulation of debt was predicted, because it was foreseeable, because it was unnecessary, because it was a result of willful and reckless disregard for the warnings that were given and for the fundamentals of economic management, I am voting against the debt limit increase.” -Sen. Joe Biden (Delaware), March 16, 2006.

“I find it distasteful and disturbing to increase the debt limit yet again. Clearly we need to change course and this debt limit bill is just another reminder of that.” -Sen. Harry Reid (NV), Sept. 27, 2007.

On compromise:

“Compromise is fantastic. I would love nothing more than to leave this building tomorrow night, having said “The Republic still works. I was able to stand shoulder to shoulder with people from states far from mine, with views different from mine, but who love their country so much that we were able to come together and save it when it faced this catastrophe.” I would love nothing more than compromise. But I would say to you that compromise that’s not a solution is a waste of time. If my house is on fire, I can’t compromise on which part of the house I’m going to save. You save the whole house or it will all burn down. We either save this country or we do not. And to save it, we must seek solutions.”
