Not a gaffe: Joe Biden will go after gun industry and your guns

For me the Second Amendment ranks way up high of one of the issues that I really, really care about. Any candidate who promises to take away my guns is NOT going to get my vote.

Joe Biden is that candidate. He’s promised to “take down” the gun industry.

As reported by Breitbart in February:

“During a Monday night speech in South Carolina, Democrat presidential hopeful Joe Biden referenced gun manufacturers and said, “I’m going to take you down.”

Read their whole story here.

Biden also received the endorsement of Pancho Beto in which Biden appeared to seek the help of Pancho Beto in gun confiscation. From Twitchy:

“Joe Biden tells Beto, of “hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,” fame that “you’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re gonna to be the one who leads this effort.”

Read that whole story here.

Joe’s plan to chip away at the Second Amendment includes the following:

Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines; buy back the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines already in our communities; reduce stockpiling of weapons; and end the online sale of firearms and ammunitions.

Along with Joe’s plan to raise my taxes, I cannot support someone who seeks to destroy my 2A right. No way, no how, Corn Pop!

Washington State governor and AG want to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee speaks, Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at the Capitol in Olympia, Wash. Inslee was urging the passage of bills enforcing safe gun storage and enhanced background checks when buying or selling assault weapons. (AP Photo/Ted S. Warren) ORG XMIT: WATW110

This past Thursday, Washington State AG Bob Ferguson made an announcement, along with support from Governor Jay Inslee, that they will seek to ban assault weapons. They also want to propose limits to magazine capacity in order to combat mass shootings.

Excerpts from his announcement:

“In addition to renewing calls to ban the sale of these dangerous weapons and limits to magazine capacity, Ferguson is also proposing legislation to add background checks on ammunition sales after federal rules are changed, in addition to other safety measures to keep ammunition out of the hands of dangerous individuals.

“This is the time to take action on common sense measures that will save lives. We should be making it harder for those who want to inflict mass violence and destruction upon innocent people,” Inslee said. “By limiting magazine capacity and banning assault weapons, we can work toward a day where no one in Washington state loses a friend or family members to senseless gun violence.”

Ferguson and Inslee are proposing joint-request legislation to limit the capacity of magazines sold in Washington to 10-rounds.

The bill’s definition to assault weapons is similar to the definition used by the seven other states that have banned the sale of assault weapons — semi-automatic weapons that contain at least one military-style feature. Those laws have survived legal challenge.”

There’s also this stupid part of his proposal: “The bill makes it illegal for violent felons not legally allowed to buy guns to buy ammo, and prohibits firearms dealers from knowingly selling ammo to the or anyone else not legally allowed to buy a gun.”

Such a vague description of what a “military-style feature” is in this announcement. My guess is this feature:

Because we all know what the end goal is of gun-grabbers: Take away your guns.

Michael Bloomberg tries to define “assault weapon”

Gun-grabber Michael Bloomberg is apparently going to get in on the 2020 presidential race.

Can you imagine someone like this being in charge of our country?

Creepy Joe: Sell back your assault weapons or register them with the government

Joe’s got a plan to end America’s gun violence. Funny how he and Obama couldn’t end gun violence while they were in office for eight years.

From Joe’s campaign web site:

“It’s within our grasp to end our gun violence epidemic and respect the Second Amendment, which is limited. As president, Biden will pursue constitutional, common-sense gun safety policies. Biden will:

Get weapons of war off our streets. The bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that Biden, along with Senator Feinstein, secured in 1994 reduced the lethality of mass shootings. But, in order to secure the passage of the bans, they had to agree to a 10-year sunset provision and when the time came, the Bush Administration failed to extend them. As president, Biden will:

Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Federal law prevents hunters from hunting migratory game birds with more than three shells in their shotgun. That means our federal law does more to protect ducks than children. It’s wrong. Joe Biden will enact legislation to once again ban assault weapons. This time, the bans will be designed based on lessons learned from the 1994 bans. For example, the ban on assault weapons will be designed to prevent manufacturers from circumventing the law by making minor changes that don’t limit the weapon’s lethality. While working to pass this legislation, Biden will also use his executive authority to ban the importation of assault weapons.

Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act. Currently, the National Firearms Act requires individuals possessing machine-guns, silencers, and short-barreled rifles to undergo a background check and register those weapons with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Due to these requirements, such weapons are rarely used in crimes. As president, Biden will pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.

Buy back the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines already in our communities. Biden will also institute a program to buy back weapons of war currently on our streets. This will give individuals who now possess assault weapons or high-capacity magazines two options: sell the weapons to the government, or register them under the National Firearms Act.

Reduce stockpiling of weapons. In order to reduce the stockpiling of firearms, Biden supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one.”

Dick’s anti-gun CEO Ed Stack considering presidential bid?

Go for it, buddy. With your anti-gun Second Amendment stance you’ve got no chance of winning any states in flyover country.

From Fox Business: A secret focus group examining Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO Ed Stack’s 2020 chances could point to a third-party presidential run by the billionaire, according to a Politico interview with an unnamed focus group participant.

Participants were asked to compare Stack, 64, in three-way races with Donald Trump and either Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren. Messaging about Stack focused on his “leadership” after his company destroyed $5 million dollars of sporting rifles rather than selling them amid a string of deadly school shootings.

“A defining moment of this was when we found out that we’d sold the shooter a shotgun a couple of months before the rampage he went on in Parkland,” Stack told FOX Business’ Gerry Baker earlier this month.

He admitted the decision impacted sales but thought it was worth it to bring about a national conversation on the topic.

Meanwhile, the focus group worried about Stack’s age even though he is younger than Trump, Biden and Warren.

“[Focus group members] mentioned that if Biden’s getting the criticism that he looked old, Ed Stack didn’t look young either,” the focus group participant told Politico.

Some people felt Stack “didn’t have the charisma it would take to attract a coalition that you’d need to have a chance as a third-party candidate,” the participant added.

Politico’s story also included a quote from a source familiar with Stack’s thinking who said he has “no plans” to run for elected office.

One big fat lie: Shannon Watts claims Moms Demand group isn’t anti-gun

Baloney.

In an interview with CBS News, Shannon Watts – founder of Bloomberg’s Moms Demand – claims their aren’t anti-gun.

Excerpts from their story:

“Moms Demand Action is a grassroots organization advocating for stronger gun control measures, founded as a Facebook group the day after the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre that took the lives of 26 people, 20 of whom were young children. But while its members advocate for an assault ban, Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts says that it’s a “misnomer” to call the group anti-gun.

“Often people think that because we’re doing this work, we’re anti-gun or we don’t support the Second Amendment. Nothing could be further from the truth,” Watts said in an interview with CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett in this week’s episode of “The Takeout” podcast. Watts noted that many volunteers the organization were gun owners or married to gun owners.

“This is simply about restoring the responsibilities that go along with gun rights,” Watts said. She added that while the top priorities for Moms Demand Action are background checks, red-flag laws and disarming domestic abusers, the organization also advocates for an assault weapons ban and has worked with municipalities on the issue.”
