Hey BLM: 35 shot, 5 fatally, in Chiraq weekend gun violence; city has most violent day in 60 years

Two MyFoxChicago headlines out of Chiraq yesterday:

Chicago sees its most violent day in 60 years: Chicago recorded 18 murders on May 31, making it the city’s deadliest day in 60 years. The dubious milestone was reached on a day Chicago was roiled by another round of protests and looting following the Memorial Day death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis.”

35 shot, 5 fatally, in Chicago weekend gun violence: “Five people were killed and 30 others were wounded in shootings across Chicago over the weekend. Last weekend, 85 people were shot across Chicago, 24 of them fatally, in the city’s most violent weekend of the year.”

And yet we have this:

And this:

Looted Chicago businesses rebuild: These black and brown folk put their blood, sweat and tears into maintaining these businesses and showing up for their community,” said Aaliyah Lara, who raised over $20,000 for three minority-owned businesses. “It’s only right that I do the same.”

Way to watch out for your fellow man, BLM.

Can Chiraq Mayor Lightfoot explain this double standard?

Don’t hold your breath. This is the same womyn who violated her own social distancing rules to get HER hair cut because “she’s in the public eye.”

Please explain why this is OK?

Yet churches still face restrictions?

Good luck getting any one to comply with any future “stay-at-home” orders. The politicians and medical “experts” have erased ALL credibility (what they had left) by endorsing their preferred-politically-motivated protests during a pandemic.

You might be able to get a haircut in Chiraq on Friday!

Yet if you are Mayor Lori Lightfoot, that was NEVER a problem for you in the first place.

Good news, people of Chiraq – you will be allowed to get a haircut! With RULES, of course. Rules that DON’T apply to your good mayor.

MyFoxChicago reports that this Friday barbershops will have very specific requirements to reopen and cut your hair. But they can’t cut all of your hair. From the story:

“In Chicago specifically, the industry will open sometime in early June and you cannot get any services that require removing your mask.

When they do open, coronavirus safety measures will change the way services are provided.

“Masks are required. For barbers, for example, they won’t be able to cut the mustache or facial hair if it requires taking the mask off,” Bradford said. “I won’t be able to cut it. I have to follow the guidelines and I don’t want any issues.”

The city of Chicago has put up Phase 3 guidelines on their website. In some cases, the recommendations will hit beauty professionals financially.

“Makeup artists won’t be able to do an entire face of makeup. They can do lashes,” Bradford said.”

I guess doing only eyelashes keeps you much safer than doing an entire face of makeup. Probably much safer than getting a haircut during a stay at home order when you pose with your hair stylist without social distancing.

Chiraq moves Wuhan virus goal post from “flatten the curve” to a measurement of seven factors

Mayor Lightfoot (r) poses with her stylist after SHE was ALLOWED a hair cut, while violating her own social distancing rules

Washington state announced a four-phase plan to safely re-open their state which the Gov. Inslee dubbed, “Safe Start.”

Of course the “Safe Start” plan to re-open is much more complicated than the quick decision to shutdown the state and order residents to stay home. Yet Chiraq has got Washington State beat in their approach to re-open…

Mayor Lori Lightfoot and the Chicago Department of Public Health announced a new five-phase plan to re-open their city. From the press release:

“The framework – organized into five phases in alignment with the State of Illinois’ “Restore Illinois” plan – will advise Chicagoans on how to safely exit from shelter-in-place while continuing to prioritize the health of our most vulnerable residents.”

Guess what the name of this five-phase plan is? I hope you’re not drinking a beverage when you read this: “Protecting Chicago.”

The five phases include:

PHASE ONE: STRICT STAY-AT-HOME
PHASE TWO: STAY-AT-HOME
PHASE THREE: CAUTIOUSLY REOPEN
PHASE FOUR: GRADUALLY RESUME
PHASE FIVE: PROTECT

The original goal of “flatten the curve” has now morphed into the following seven requirements to transition from Phase 2 to Phase 3:

COVID-19 Case Rate (over 14 days, as a rolling average):Declining rate of new cases, based on incidence and/or percent positivity
Severe Outcome Rate (over 14 days, as a rolling average): Stable or declining rates of cases resulting in hospitalization, ICU admission, and/or death
Hospital Capacity Citywide (over 14 days, as a rolling average): Hospital beds: <1800 COVID patients, ICU beds: <600 COVID patients, Ventilators: <450 COVID patients •Testing Capacity: Test at least 5% of Chicago residents per month
Testing Percent Positivity Rates (over 14 days, as a rolling average):Congregate: <30% positive tests; Community: <15% positive tests •Syndromic Surveillance (over 14 days, as a rolling average): Declining emergency department visits for influenza-like illness and/or COVID-like illness
Case Investigation & Contact Tracing:Expanded system in place for congregate and community investigations and contact tracing

Meanwhile, while the good mayor is oh-so-concerned with protecting Chiraq, the criminals keep up their business:

Chiraq’s criminals violate stay at home order: 21 shot, 7 killed last Tuesday in most violent day of 2020
Wuhan virus ain’t stopping Chiraq shootings: 22 wounded, 1 killed this past weekend

And this is happening: “Chicago hides names of released prisoners from police

Way to “protect” Chicago.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot Warns Stay-At-Home Violators: ‘We Will Take You To Jail, Period!’

From the mayor who violated her own social distancing rules in order to get HER hair cut. After all, SHE’S in the public eye so she be special.

She states that if you violate the “law,” you will be taken to jail. PERIOD.

I’m curious as to which LAW the good mayor will cite if you violate a stay at home ORDER.

Meanwhile in Chiraq: “4 dead, 30 hurt in Chicago weekend shootings so far

And this: “Illinois releases 146 sex offenders, including 3 sexually dangerous persons

Seems the REAL criminals in Chiraq and Illinois are the ones getting a free pass.

Welcome to the new America under the Wuhan virus tyranny.

Chiraq’s criminals violate stay at home order: 21 shot, 7 killed last Tuesday in most violent day of 2020

Wuhan virus ain’t gonna stop some folk from keeping on with their regular business…

From MyFoxChicago: Seven people were killed and 14 more were wounded Tuesday in shootings across Chicago, making it the most violent day of 2020 so far as temperatures reached summer-like levels for the first time this year.

A man was killed Tuesday evening in a shooting that left a 5-year-old girl and two other people wounded in Gresham.

About 7:35 p.m., a group of people were sitting on the front porch of a home in the 8600 block of South Damen Avenue when someone in a black sedan fired shots, Chicago police said.

Paul Boyd, a 37-year-old Hazel Crest man, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

A 5-year-old girl who was shot in the foot was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in good condition, police said. A 24-year-old man shot in both arms was taken to the same hospital in good condition, while a 22-year-old man who was shot in the leg was taken to Christ Medical Center in good condition.

Read about all the shootings here.

Eight other people were wounded last Tuesday in shootings across the city. The previous Monday 13 people were shot in Chicago, three of them fatally.

Chiraq Mayor Lightfoot: “This is tough on all of us, myself included”

Mayor Lightfoot (r) poses with her stylist after SHE was ALLOWED a hair cut

LIAR. She broke her own social distancing rules to get a haircut. She’s in the “public eye” so that makes her special.

Now the good, hypocritical mayor is cracking down on her citizens’ activities.

Excerpts from MyFoxChicago:

“As large American cities try various strategies to keep people home to limit the coronavirus’s spread, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has balanced a blend of stern — and occasionally scolding — news conferences with lighthearted social media to drive home her point.

Lightfoot’s hard-line approach began with an exasperated announcement in March that she was shutting down lakefront trails, adjacent parks and other crowded public spaces after Chicagoans flocked there on a 70-degree weekday.

“Your conduct — yours — is posing a direct threat to our public health,” Lightfoot chastised people spotted flouting social distancing orders.

In recent days, Lightfoot has taken her efforts a step further. At a press conference announcing a 9 p.m. curfew for liquor stores this week, Lightfoot said she had ordered groups of people to “break it up” while driving in a North Side neighborhood.

Yes,” she said, nodding slowly. “And I’ll continue to do that. I mean what I say. We have to protect ourselves. We have to be smart about what we’re doing in the course of this pandemic. And if it means that I drive around and check whether or not people are in compliance, I am happy to do it.

In reality, the city’s police force has been the true enforcers of Illinois’ stay-at-home order and Lightfoot’s restriction.

Since March 25, the day Lightfoot ordered the lakefront and parks closed, police have dispersed 2,264 groups of 10 people or more, police spokesman Tom Ahern said. Interim Superintendent Charlie Beck issued a warning then that the time for educating was over and the time for enforcement was ramping up. On Friday, Ahern said officers had written 11 citations and made 17 arrests on disorderly charges after refusing to disperse.”

Rules for thee but not for me: Mayor Lightfoot defends getting haircut under social distancing order

I’m way overdue for a color appointment at the salon. And I won’t be getting one until sometime in May as our mayor has continued our lockdown through the end of April. I’ll survive though. After all, our combined sacrifices are for the good of the public health. Remember, #WereAllInThisTogether.

Also, I’m not “out in the public eye” so I guess it really doesn’t matter if I’m inconvenienced.

Chiraq Mayor Lori Lightfoot: My haircuts will go on

WGN reports that the good mayor of Chiraq, Lori Lightfoot, defended herself while she disobeyed the “social distancing” orders by getting a haircut. From their report:

“Photos surfaced over the weekend showing the mayor after she got a haircut amid the state’s stay-at-home orders. A woman posted photos on Facebook Sunday saying she “had the pleasure of giving Mayor [Lori] Lightfoot a hair trim.”

In the photos, the mayor is standing next to the woman and they are not standing six feet apart — plus, neither one was wearing a mask.

“Thank you for all the hard work & dedication put forth to help our city,” the post said.

Beauty and hair salons are among the many businesses closed to the public amid the statewide orders.

The mayor was asked about the trim during a press conference Monday. “I’m in the public everyday and candidly, my hair was not looking the way it did,” she said. “I thought I would do it myself but I thought it would be a disaster. So I got a haircut,” she said.

When asked if she was sending mixed messages to Chicagoans, she said she practices what she preaches, but said because she is a public figure, she got the haircut.

“I’m the public face of this city,” she said. “I’m on national media and I’m out in the public eye. I’m a person who takes their personal hygiene very seriously.”

Apparently her stylist wore gloves and a mask so that makes it A-OK for HER. But not for her peons.

Strict gun-controlled Chiraq: “Eruption” of gun violence in February

How’s Mayor Lightfoot’s “grand plan” to address gun violence going? Just as one with common sense would expect…

From MyFoxChicago: Overall crime in Chicago decreased in February 2020 compared to the same month last year despite an eruption of gun violence, according to statistics released by Chicago police.

Murders and shootings reported last month in Chicago were up from February 2019, police said in a statement Sunday. The 34 homicides reported in February were a 41% increase from the 24 reported the same month last year, while the 137 shooting incidents were a 25% increase compared to 109 in 2019.

So far in 2020, 68 murders were recorded in Chicago, police said. The number of shooting incidents came in at 274, with a total of 325 victims. The Sun-Times has also counted 68 homicides this year within city limits.

Last month’s gun violence included two mass shootings. The first was on Valentine’s Day when someone shot six people at an apartment in Parkway Gardens. On Feb. 25, one person was killed and four others were wounded when three males opened fire into an Avalon Park convenience store.

February also saw a weekend in which 11 kids were wounded by gunfire — at least three of them in accidental shootings. The weekend before that was the deadliest February weekend in almost 20 years with nine people killed in citywide shootings.

Meanwhile, more than 1,500 illegal guns were seized by officers so far in 2020, an increase of about 100 from the same period last year, police said. Of those seizures, 81 were assault weapons.

Overall violent crime — including murders, robberies, burglaries, thefts and motor vehicle thefts —were down by 3%, police said. Thefts saw a 13% decrease and burglaries dropped by 9% compared to the same period last year.

Lightfoot and interim Police Supt. Charlie Beck announced plans to add more police officers to the transit system after a multiple instances of violence were reported at CTA stations — including a fatal shooting Feb. 17 in the connecting tunnel at the Jackson station downtown.

Hours after that plan was unveiled, a man was shot by a Chicago police officer in an incident caught on video at the Grand Red Line station. The FBI is assisting the Cook County state’s attorney’s office’s investigation into the shooting with “possible criminal charges” looming.

Earlier in the month, a man who shot someone outside a Lake View bar was fatally shot by responding officers in an exchange of gunfire.

Chiraq off to a typical week: 5 shot, 1 fatally Monday

The shootings never stop in Chiraq, even during Monday’s “accountability” meeting.

From MyFoxChicago: One person was killed and four others wounded in shootings Monday in Chicago, including a 27-year-old woman who was fatally shot while trying to fend off someone breaking into an apartment in Albany Park on the North Side.

She and a friend were inside the apartment about 9:32 p.m. in the 4400 block of North Francisco Avenue when they heard a knock at the door, Chicago police said. A male wearing all black with a ski mask tried to force his way in after they answered the door. Stephanie Brooks was shot in the chest as she tried to close the door, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

In non-fatal shootings, a 15-year-old boy was critically wounded after he was shot in Morgan Park on the Far South Side. He was walking about 6:48 p.m. when two males approached him in the 11300 block of South Aberdeen Avenue, pulled out a gun and shot him in the abdomen and shoulder, police said. The teen was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

A 60-year-old man was shot while standing in a yard in Austin on the West Side. The shooting happened about 10:20 a.m. in the 500 block of North Leamington Avenue, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition with gunshots to his abdomen and chest, police said.

A 22-year-old woman was shot in Lawndale on the West Side. She was walking in the 2200 block of South Keeler Avenue about 9:15 a.m. when she heard gunshots and realized she was hit, police said. The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg, police said. She was listed in good condition.

A man was wounded in a shooting in Little Village on the Southwest Side. The 19-year-old was standing in an alley at 12:52 a.m. in the 2800 block of South Komensky Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, according to police. He was hit in the abdomen and taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

Five people were killed and 17 people were wounded last weekend in Chicago.
