Liberals lecture everyone to reduce their carbon footprint; why not drag queens?

The left will tell you that we need drag queens. Some say we need them “now more than ever.”

According to the Daily Beast, drag queens are “a celebration of love, self-empowerment, and subversive fabulousness that’s essential in today’s climate.”

Other reasons we need drag queens? So they can teach us about makeup (particularly contouring) and – of course – to read to our young children. Because we can address serious problems in our culture through the joy of reading.

Environmental activists lecture us about everything we do – from air travel to eating out to the number of children one chooses to have. Has anyone ever questioned the environmental impact drag queens have on our planet?

The personal care industry generates $500 billion per year and nearly EVERY product touches plastic.

The other day I got dressed and realized that every beauty and cosmetic product I use touches fossil fuels whether it be in the ingredients, production, packaging or distribution. I’m not worried about my carbon footprint yet am reminded all the time by progressives that I need to reduce it to save the planet.

Takes a LOT of fossil fuel production for this transformation

I’m guessing that drag queens have makeup kits that are three or four times the size of mine. Drag queens MUST use foundation and contouring sticks (which I never use). I purchase a new blush compact about every nine months. I’ll bet you that drag queens use one (if not more) blush compact every month.

Let’s take a look at the very extensive makeup list that Drag Queen Felicity uses, shall we?

• Medical adhesive to cover eyebrows, applied using a disposable mascara wand
• Translucent powder on the brows
• Foundation base (also known as paint stick)
• Contour color
• White paint stick for highlighting (using beauty blender)
• Eye gel liner (applied using angle brush)
• Bullet tip brush for eye shaping
• Brown shadow as nose contour and eye blend color
• Four pairs of Elegant Lashes #301 on the top and one pair of smaller lashes on the bottom
• Lip stick
• Apply a mix of fine and salt grain craft glitter to make lips pop

I’m sure the “Felicity” uses many more products and tools that were not on that list (eye shadow, Q-tips, brushes, and hair/wig and cleansing products).

My makeup routine includes 7 products that last me a long, long time.

Are drag queens given any lectures about the environmental impact of their cosmetic use? That would be a big fat NO.

Drag queens are protected from the wrath of environmental zealots because of progressives’ desire to destroy gender norms.

When you’ve got an agenda to push, the rules mean nothing. Works for Leonardo DiCaprio, Hanoi Jane and Al Gore.

Of course: Eating out at restaurants and having a large amount of sweets is bad news for your carbon footprint

At this point, I expect the “experts” to tell us that the only thing that isn’t bad for your carbon footprint is abortion and doctor-assisted suicide.

From Daily Mail: Families that often dine out and consume large quantities of sweets and alcohol are likely to have a higher carbon footprint than meat eaters, a study claims.

Researchers came to this conclusion after studying the food habits and carbon footprints of around 60,000 households across Japan.

They found that meat consumption typically only accounts for only 10 per cent of the different in environmental impact between low and high carbon households.

In contrast, households with high carbon footprints typically consumed around two to three times more sweets and alcohol than those with low footprints.

Based on their findings, the team are now advising people to cut down their intake on these products to help save the planet.

Nature and colleagues surveyed the food supply chain and consumption habits of around 60,000 households from across Japan’s 47 prefectures.

The researchers found that the levels of meat consumption were largely constant from household-to-households, but their carbon footprints varied considerably — with other foodstuffs appearing more responsible.

Eating out, for example, was found to contribute 175 per cent more carbon emissions for the average household than eating meats.

In fact, dining in restaurants was seen to contribute an annual average of 770 kilograms of greenhouse gases towards the environmental impact of those households with a high carbon footprint. In contrast, meat consumption cost just 280 kilograms.

In Japan, many households have turned vegan after learning that beef production emits 20 times the emissions per gram of protein as growing beans.

Professor Kanemoto and colleagues, however, have said that a one-size-fits-all policy is ill-advised. ‘If we think of a carbon tax, it might be wiser to target sweets and alcohol if we want a progressive system,’ said Professor Kanemoto.

Our findings suggest that high carbon footprints are not only a problem for a small number of meat lovers in Japan.’

‘If we are serious about reducing our carbon footprints, then our diets must change.’

Bill Gates, Emma Watson and Oprah Winfrey among ten stars with colossal carbon footprints

From Daily Mail: Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has been named by researchers as a greenhouse gas ‘super-emitter’.

Swedish academics analysed the carbon footprints of ten famous people who travel the globe.

Miss Watson, the only Briton on the list, had the tenth worst environmental impact out of the group of celebrities selected, based on their social media accounts. She flew 14 times in 2017 and travelled 42,253 miles, all on scheduled airlines, spending 71 hours in the air, the researchers calculated.

Her carbon footprint from flying alone was 15.1 tons of CO2 – three times that of the global average from all activities.

In her work as a United Nations spokesman, Miss Watson has called for everyone to help the world achieve the UN’s 17 global goals – which include ending extreme poverty, fighting inequality and stopping climate change.

Topping the list of celebrity greenhouse gas super-emitters was Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, with a whopping carbon footprint of more than 1,600 tons of CO2. He took 59 flights in 2017, travelling 213,130 miles, mostly on his private Bombardier BD-700 jet, which he describes as his ‘big splurge’ and which seats 19 passengers.

The figures, published in the journal Annals of Tourism Research, are estimates for 2017 based on the celebrities’ pictures and posts on their social media accounts such as Twitter and Instagram, so may not cover all their travel, the academics admit.

Lead author Steffan Gossling, of Lund University said he was inspired by fellow Swede Greta Thunberg.

The teenage climate change activist has resolved not to fly, showing that celebrities do not need to leap on jets so frequently, he said. He added: ‘As Greta Thunberg affirmed early on, ‘the bigger your carbon footprint, the bigger your moral duty’.’

Miss Watson, one of only three on the celebrity list to stick to scheduled air travel, supports environmental projects to compensate for her jet-setting. A spokesman for the actress said: ‘Emma pays to offset all of her air travel carbon emissions through ClimateCare.org.’

Attention environmentalists: You can buy Bette Midler’s NYC 7,000 square foot home for just $50 million

What do you suppose the carbon footprint is from the size of her house? Doesn’t matter because we’re all going to “burn, drown or starve” due to climate change and President Trump’s policies.

From Daily Mail: Bette Midler’s lavish Fifth Avenue penthouse apartment has gone on sale for an astonishing $50 million after the much-loved singer and entertainer revealed she wanted to downsize now that her daughter has flown the nest.

The Wind Beneath My Wings songstress, 73, who is married to performance artist Martin von Haselberg, has lived in the Upper East Side triplex which boasts stunning views of the Central Park reservoir, since 1996.

With a more than generous 7,000 square feet of space and an additional 3,000 square feet of outdoor space, the property is among the best of its kind anywhere in New York City.

Midler’s daughter, Sophie von Haselberg, was schooled nearby but now in her thirties and pursuing a career in acting in LA, the singer explained it was time to let another family enjoy the property.

The asking price is $50 million, according to the listing broker, John Burger of Brown Harris Stevens, with $25,515 in monthly maintenance.

‘It’s time for another family to enjoy it,’ Ms. Midler told The New York Times, adding that she and Mr. von Haselberg ‘consider ourselves die-hard New Yorkers’ and plan to downsize into another Manhattan home.

After the units were initially bought, the interior was completely overhauled with an expansion by architect Frederick Fisher and Partners, the Brown Harris Stevens sales listing shows.

‘The ceilings were lower,’ Midler said of the property before it’s upgrade. ‘The corridors narrower, and many of the rooms were much smaller’. Today, she said, ‘it’s like a country house in the city.’

The triplex offers four bedrooms and six and a half baths, plus a home gym sizeable enough to be converted into a fifth bedroom. The penthouse has around 3,000 square feet of outdoor space that provide direct views of the Central Park reservoir.
