Gov. Jay “Let’s Defeat Climate Change” Inslee is all talk and no action; report shows Washington state greenhouse gas emissions got worse

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee is running for president. He touts himself as the “green governor” and wrote a book to “lay out the path to stop global warming and gain energy independence.”

From his presidential bid web site:

“Governor Jay Inslee knows that defeating climate change is the defining challenge of our time and that it must be the foremost priority for the next president. Devastating disasters and rising pollution have claimed lives, cost the economy billions and threatened the places Americans live, work and raise families.

Jay’s climate plan will meet the climate challenge head-on, while creating jobs building a clean energy future. That’s what he has done in Washington state, and it’s what he’s proposing for the nation.”

That’s NOT exactly what he has done in Washington state. Read on…

From King 5 News: The good news is that Washington’s economy is growing. With more people and business, however, the state has also seen an increase in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions despite predictions otherwise and policy aimed at reductions.

“We are doing the right things in the state. We have adopted some really aggressive policy to reduce carbon emissions. Those are beginning to take effect. We’re seeing that in the numbers. Our economy is growing by leaps and bounds, but our greenhouse gas emissions, they are just kind of ticking up,” said Andrew Wineke with the Washington Department of Ecology’s Air Quality Program.

Their most recent data is from 2016, which is still under review and could change. It shows about a 2% increase over 2015.

It’s still lower than 2008, which was followed by a decline for several years due to the recession. Around 2012, GHG emissions start to increase again, and have done so steadily at a rate of about 2-3% each year.

“There is more work to be done, but I think we should focus on the fact that we are doing some good things in the state. We are making progress. We just need to turn that corner,” Wineke said.

But if you ask Washington Policy Center Environmental Director Todd Myers, it looks more like hitting a wall. “If you are not getting data until 2-and-a-half years later, you don’t know what is working and what is not,” Myers said.

Though the state says it simply takes time to accurately compile data from multiple sources, Myers argues the system moves too slowly to make good predictions or good policy.

“They are making policies based on numbers that they claim will be true 15 years from now. It doesn’t make any sense for politicians to take the word of an agency that can’t even tell you what happened two-and-a-half years ago that is trying to predict 20 years in the future,” Myers said.

We are wasting huge amounts of money. That is not just a waste of taxpayer dollars. It is a waste of opportunity to do good for the environment. If people really believe that we are facing a climate crisis, we should make every dollar work. Instead, we are spending $20 to get one dollar worth of environmental benefit.

For Myers, the solution should be more investment in technology and open market solutions rather than regulations and taxes.

“We need to be encouraging more innovation, more people to find ways to reduce CO2 for very low cost. That is how we’re going to save the environment. That is how we are going to reduce CO2 the most rapidly,” Myers said.

In 2008, the state set targets to reduce emissions to levels seen in 1990 by 2020 and 25% below that by 2035. The most recent legislative session set a plan to be off coal by 2025, to be carbon neutral by 2030, and carbon free by 2040.

HYPOCRITE: Harrison Ford wants us to stop electing leaders who don’t believe in science

Hollyweird HYPOCRITE Ford: Do as I say, not as I do…

Harrison Ford, like many in Hollyweird, is a HYPOCRITE.

While speaking at the Global Climate Action Summit, Ford whined about climate change and anti-science political leaders. He said, “If we can’t protect nature, we can’t protect ourselves.”

He also said the following: ““If we don’t change the path that we’re on today, the future of humanity is at stake. While you work to meet the challenge of climate change, I beg of you— don’t forget nature. Because today, the destruction of nature accounts for more global emissions than all the cars and trucks in the world. For God’s sake, stop electing leaders who don’t believe in science.”

Read about his speech here.

First of all, I don’t need some smug, self-righteous Hollyweird actor telling me who I should vote for. That’s MY decision and MY decision alone.

Secondly, let’s take a look at what this HYPOCRITE does for a hobby, shall we?

According to Wikipedia, Ford is a licensed airplane and helicopter pilot. He owns the following private aircrafts:

  • Gulfstream II
  • Bell 407
  • de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver
  • Ryan PT-22

Apparently at one time he had amassed a collection of seven private aircrafts.

This guy, like many Hollyweird stars, flies via private jets when traveling about the world lecturing us.

This guy has the AUDACITY to speak to us about “global emissions” when he yearly emits more from his private aircraft flights than I will ever be responsible for in my lifetime?

You, Mr. Harrison, are a FLAMING HYPOCRITE.

The Guardian: Want to fight climate change? Have fewer babies!

white babies picture from the guardian stop images

The Guardian’s photo of choice/Stop Images

Notice the picture that The Guardian chose to use: it’s only white babies. What are they trying to tell us?
From The Guardian: The greatest impact individuals can have in fighting climate change is to have one fewer child, according to a new study that identifies the most effective ways people can cut their carbon emissions.
The next best actions are selling your car, avoiding long flights (paging Leo), and eating a vegetarian diet. These reduce emissions many times more than common green activities, such as recycling, using low energy light bulbs or drying washing on a line. However, the high impact actions are rarely mentioned in government advice and school textbooks, researchers found.
Carbon emissions must fall to two tonnes of CO2 per person by 2050 to avoid severe global warming, but in the US and Australia emissions are currently 16 tonnes per person and in the UK seven tonnes. “That’s obviously a really big change and we wanted to show that individuals have an opportunity to be a part of that,” said Kimberly Nicholas, at Lund University in Sweden and one of the research team.
The new study, published in Environmental Research Letters, sets out the impact of different actions on a comparable basis. By far the biggest ultimate impact is having one fewer child, which the researchers calculated equated to a reduction of 58 tonnes of CO2 for each year of a parent’s life.
The figure was calculated by totting up the emissions of the child and all their descendants, then dividing this total by the parent’s lifespan. Each parent was ascribed 50% of the child’s emissions, 25% of their grandchildren’s emissions and so on.
“We recognise these are deeply personal choices. But we can’t ignore the climate effect our lifestyle actually has,” said Nicholas. “It is our job as scientists to honestly report the data. Like a doctor who sees the patient is in poor health and might not like the message ‘smoking is bad for you’, we are forced to confront the fact that current emission levels are really bad for the planet and human society.”
“In life, there are many values on which people make decisions and carbon is only one of them,” she added. “I don’t have children, but it is a choice I am considering and discussing with my fiance. Because we care so much about climate change that will certainly be one factor we consider in the decision, but it won’t be the only one.”

Obama Wants to Tax the Number of Miles You Drive

UPDATE (5.17.11): The White House is backing away from its trial balloon and is disowning its own proposal to tax Americans by the miles we drive. See: https://news.yahoo.com/s/theweek/20110506/cm_theweek/215015_20110506105300

Green guru Al Gore owns 5 big mansions, flies in private jet planes, and has made millions off the climate change scam.

While we were distracted with the killing of Osama bin Laden and the release of Obama’s phony birth certificate, the Obama administration also released something else — a trial balloon of a very bad idea.

A draft bill was circulated within the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Office of Management and Budget to tax Americans for the number of miles that we drive — so as to reduce our carbon dioxide emissions.

You can view a copy of this draft USDOT bill, with the Orwellian name “Transportation Opportunities Act,” here.

According to The Hill, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) “suggested that a vehicle miles traveled (VMT) tax could be tracked by installing electronic equipment on each car to determine how many miles were driven; payment could take place electronically at filling stations.”

The End of the American Dream blog warns us that “if this ever does become law, the tracking equipment will probably be installed on all new vehicles.” No amount of common sense will stop the global warming/climate change Greens from pressing forward with their militant crusade despite these inconvenient truths:

  • Carbon dioxide has nothing to do with global warming.
  • Carbon dioxide is one of the basic building blocks of life on planet earth, and our atmosphere is already starved of carbon dioxide.
  • Reducing levels of carbon dioxide will make it harder for crops to grow and could set off a global famine.
  • Over 95% of all carbon dioxide emissions would still occur even if humans were not present on Earth.

In Europe, the mantra that “carbon dioxide = evil” has become gospel. The European Commission has unveiled a plan to ban all cars from major European cities by the year 2050, part of a draconian master plan to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in Europe by 60% over the next 40 years.

Global Warmists have other brilliant ideas, including these top 12 stupidest ideas. One idea is to feed massive amounts of garlic to our cows to keep them from farting so much.

The radical green agenda is at the very heart of the New World Order system. Just watch this video of the kind of future “Planned-opolis” the Greens want for our future.

The video was produced by the Forum for the Future, an NGO funded by big corporations such as Time Warner and Royal Dutch Shell.

The radical green agenda is already being implemented in the United States:

  • The federal government wants to dictate to us what kinds of light bulbs we are allowed to buy.
  • In some areas of the United States, government snoopers actually sort through the trash of residents to ensure that environmental rules are being followed. For example, in the city of Cleveland, Ohio authorities have announced plans to have “trash supervisors” snoop through trash cans to ensure that people are actually recycling according to city guidelines.

The fact that there is even draft legislation taxing Americans based on the number of miles that we drive should alarm all of us. If the Greens have their way, there are going to be lots of these kinds of taxes in our future.

Are you gonna just sit there, or will you tell Congress “I’ve had enough and I’m not gonna take this anymore”?

Obama Has Personal Trainer Fly Weekly to D.C.

Barack XIV and Michelle Antoinette (Design by BKeyser)

Washington, D.C., has at least 56 personal fitness trainers, according to the Yellow Pages. But none of them is good enough for Barry and Michelle.
J. P. Freire of the Washington Examiner asks (February 28, 2011) why does Obama “insist on having his old trainer fly out from Chicago to D.C. regularly when Obama and his wife exhort the rest of us to drive less? And in a recession?”

Cornell McClellan

Ashley Parker of the New York Times reports that Obama’s personal trainer Cornell McClellan owns Naturally Fit, a personal training and wellness center in Chicago, and now spends part of his week in Washington at Obama’s request to work out with the first couple at the White House gym. McClellan says he usually sees them two to four times a week, depending on their schedules.
Freire points out the hypocrisy of this arrangement:
Both Barack and Michelle profess to be environmentalists. Last July, Obama announced that he wanted federal workers to cut down on business travel and commuting by car in order to reduce emissions produced by the federal government. For her part, Michelle’s support for locally produced food is steeped in environmental concerns. As MotherEarthnews puts it: “Local food is…better for the planet. It supports a healthy, clean environment that benefits wildlife and the land. Growing local, seasonal food preserves genetic diversity and reduces our reliance on genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Buying local contributes to the community economy and protects our food supply for the future.”
But the environmental cost of flying McClellan back and forth every week for a year is 50,000 lbs of carbon emissions, according to TerraPass.com. Obama could have hired a personal trainer in D.C. The Yellow Pages has over 56 entries under “Personal Fitness Trainers” alone, most of whom would have been able to reach the White House by bike.
Then there’s the matter of who’s paying for McClellan’s weekly roundtrip airfare, hotel accomodations, and salary.
The message from Obama is umambiguous: If you’re an average federal employee or your everyday taxpayer, stop driving and be careful of your carbon footprint. If you’re in the White House and you want some toned arms and a firm buttocks, fly your trainer out from Chicago every week.
In other words, do as I say, not as I do, ’cause as any good narcissist can tell you: RULES DON’T APPLY TO ME!”

Shocking Global Warming 10-10 Video

The Global Warming Taliban made this commercial, “No Pressure,” for its 10:10 Campaign — a worldwide campaign exhorting us to reduce our carbon emissions by at least 10% in 2010. The campaign was launched in London on September 1, 2009, and went global in mid-2010, with campaigns launching in around 12 countries. As of June 2010, 75,000 individuals, businesses, schools and organisations have joined the campaign and pledged to reduce their emissions by 10% in a year.
In this video, school children and adults who refuse to join 10:10 are blown up into bits, their blood and pieces of flesh spattering those nearby. This video/commercial is not a spoof. The people who put this together are serious and really really sick.
If the video’s been pulled by YouTube, you can see an Eyeblast version of it HERE.
Here’s what Wikipedia says about the commercial:

On Friday October 1, 2010, 10:10 released a short film in which people, including schoolchildren, are graphically blown to pieces for not taking action on climate change. The four-minute video ends with the words “Cut your carbon by 10%. No pressure”. Written by Richard Curtis and Franny Armstrong, directed by Dougal Wilson, and featuring celebrities Gillian Anderson, David Ginola, Peter Crouch and Radiohead, the film has been described as ‘attention-grabbing’ and ‘pretty edgy’ It aimed to challenge the “no pressure” attitude often displayed both by governments and individuals, since 10:10 are reported as saying that there are just four years to stabilise carbon emissions.

“Doing nothing about climate change is still a fairly common affliction, even in this day and age. What to do with those people, who are together threatening everybody’s existence on this planet? Clearly we don’t really think they should be blown up, that’s just a joke for the mini-movie, but maybe a little amputating would be a good place to start? […] We ‘killed’ five people to make No Pressure – a mere blip compared to the 300,000 real people who now die each year from climate change.” –Franny Armstrong, founder of 10:10

“I was very happy to get blown up to save the world.” -Jamie Glover, the child-actor who plays the part of Philip in No Pressure

Although originally planned to be shown in cinema and television advertisements, 10:10 removed the film from their website and YouTube later on October 1st following negative publicity, and placed a notice on their website saying, “Many people found the resulting film extremely funny, but unfortunately some didn’t and we sincerely apologise to anybody we have offended. […] At 10:10 we’re all about trying new and creative ways of getting people to take action on climate change. Unfortunately in this instance we missed the mark. Oh well, we live and learn.”

H/t beloved fellow (we miss you!) Will.
