GOP maintains control of Senate; great news for the “conservative judicial train”

Last night the GOP likely extended (at the time I scheduled this blog post) its majority in the Senate.

Key republican wins included:

  • Mike Braun in Indiana
  • Kevin Cramer defeated Heidi Heitkamp (who voted against Kavanaugh) in North Dakota
  • Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee
  • Josh Hawley defeated Claire McCaskill in Missouri
  • Rick Scott in Florida

This win is very important to keep control of the appointment of judicial nominees since the Senate confirms federal judges and – most importantly – SCOTUS nominees.

The SCOTUS is leaning more conservative with the appointments of Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch.

Considering the health condition and age of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, there is a very good chance that President Trump could have the chance to nominate another conservative to the SCOTUS.

Lindsey Graham tweeted the following last night:

  • “One of the reasons we are winning big in the Senate tonight is because of the way Democrats treated Brett Kavanaugh.”
  • The conservative judicial train will keep running. President Trump has a lot to be proud of … without him I don’t think we would have had the night that we had.” response on Fox News”

Good news last night, very good news indeed.

Reminder of what can happen: Female blogger ordered to pay US Army colonel she accused of rape $8.4 million in damages

This story is from August 2017 yet it is relevant to what happened to Justice Kavanaugh during his confirmation circus.

One woman (and the media) cannot play “judge and jury.”

From Daily Mail: A jury has ordered a female blogger to pay an Army colonel she accused of rape a total of $8.4million in damages.

Susan Shannon, 52, who now lives in Everett, Washington, first alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Army Colonel David ‘Wil’ Riggins in 1986, while they were both cadets, on her blog in 2013. (Susan claims people lied at her trial and that the judge and jurors “denied” her. See her Twitter account – last used in 2017 – here.)

She said she waited three decades to come forward about her experience because of the army’s ‘code of silence’. But Riggins, also 52, who vehemently denied the claims, said the ‘false’ allegations had cost him a sparkling military career.

The combat veteran from Alexandria had been on the cusp of being appointed to general in 2013, when Army leaders saw Shannon’s rape allegation on her blog.

His promotion was snatched away and Riggins says his name was dragged through the mud after ‘Susan Shannon decided to play judge and jury on her own.’

The decorated colonel denied all claims, telling ABC 7 On Your Side at the time: ‘I did not rape Susan Shannon. I did not sexually assault Susan Shannon. Every aspect of (her) story is verifiably false.

The jury has now ordered Shannon to pay $3.4 million in compensatory damages for injury to his reputation and lost wages, and $5 million in punitive damages, ‘to make sure nothing like this will ever happen again,’ according to the Washington Post.

Shannon said at the time she had finally been inspired to speak about her alleged experience after reading about several high profile convictions for sexual assaults in the military.

Shannon alleged she was raped by her former cadet classmate at the United States Military Academy in New York in 1986. She dropped out shortly afterwards.

Now a jewelry designer and a mother living on the West Coast, she added that the pressure in the army to keep quiet and not turn in her peers meant that she did not even report the alleged rape at her exit interview.

She made the claims on her blog Short Little Rebel in 2013 – which followed the announcement that Colonel Riggins had been nominated for general.

Shannon denied having any knowledge of his nomination until she was contacted by Army officials investigating her blog post.

Stars and Stripes has an extensive write-up of this story here.

Demorat intern arrested after doxxing GOP senators, faces 50 years in prison

Good. Make an example out of this unhinged demorat.

From Fox News: The arrest of a Democratic congressional intern this week for allegedly publishing the private information of three Republican lawmakers, with police investigating more possible incidents, underscores what has become an increasingly confrontational approach by the anti-Trump ‘resistance.’

Jackson Cosko, who recently worked as an unpaid intern for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, was arrested for posting the personal information of Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Mike Lee, R-Utah, and Orrin Hatch, R-Utah on Wikipedia — including their home addresses.

Fox News learned Wednesday that Capitol Hill police are investigating additional doxxing incidents involving at least two senators, including Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky. It was not clear if Cosko — who worked with other Democratic lawmakers including Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-N.H., and former Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif. — was involved.

Cosko had worked in a host of roles in the House and Senate, including as press assistant and legislative correspondent, according to his LinkedIn page.

Former Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz said on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom” Thursday that the wide range of charges against Cosko, including witness tampering and burglary, suggests there could be more to the case than meets the eye.

“With seven different charges out there, it really does makes it sound like it’s more sophisticated and widespread because now you see Sen. Rand Paul is also having issues,” he said, although he added that it wasn’t clear if Cosko was connected to the Paul case.

While it was not clear what the motivation was behind the posting of personal information (known as “doxxing”), Graham, Lee and Hatch have been outspoken defenders of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh amid sexual assault allegations against him. The doxxing on Thursday came moments after Graham had scorched Senate Democrats in a fiery speech for what he called “an unethical sham” in their treatment of Kavanaugh.

The incident marks the latest in escalating attacks against Republican lawmakers and Trump administration officials — particularly in relation to the Kavanaugh controversy — by far left-wing activists, which have occasionally picked up the support of Democratic lawmakers.

A day after the doxxing, two female activists cornered Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., in an elevator on Friday and screamed at him, with one of them repeatedly demanding he look at her as she accused him of suggesting her own sexual assault “doesn’t matter.”

Moments later, Flake demanded an FBI investigation into the accusations against Kavanaugh — forcing GOP leaders, faced with little room for error on Senate votes, to accede. It was not clear if the dressing down caused Flake to waver, but he later told The Atlantic that the incident “struck a chord.”

Days earlier on Monday, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and his wife Heidi were hounded out of a restaurant by protesters peppering the senator with questions about Kavanaugh and chanting “we believe survivors” and “cancel Kavanaugh.” His Democratic opponent in the Texas Senate race, Beto O’Rouke, condemned the incident and said his family “should be treated with respect.”

The tactic of hounding lawmakers and Trump officials out of restaurants became more prevalent in June, when White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen were driven out of restaurants amid the backlash over the separation of illegal immigrant families at the border.

That move was encouraged by Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., who days later called on supporters to confront Trump officials in public spaces.

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” she told a crowd.

In July, Sen. Cory Booker, D-NJ., who recently compared himself to Thracian gladiator Spartacus, told supporters to go to Capitol Hill and “get in the face of some congresspeople.”

This week, Republicans have been pushing back against such tactics. Some have pointed to the shooting of Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., at a Republican baseball practice last year as a reminder of how heated rhetoric can lead to much worse.

Kelley Paul, the wife of Sen. Paul, wrote in an open letter to Sen. Booker, saying that she now keeps a loaded gun by her bed after her family has “experienced violence and threats of violence at a horrifying level.”

“I would call on you to retract your statement,” she said. “I would call on you to condemn violence, the leaking of elected officials’ personal addresses (our address was leaked from a Senate directory given only to senators), and the intimidation and threats that are being hurled at them and their families.”

The Daily Caller reported that Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., and his wife were chased through Reagan National Airport by activists — who kept yelling at him even as he tried to use the bathroom.

On the Senate floor on Wednesday, Perdue blamed Democrats for inciting such behavior, and read quotes he said were inciting harassment of Republicans in public.

“This is America, but these are the tactics of the Brownshirts in Germany in the 1930s, Mr. President,” he said. “Unacceptable. Totally irresponsible.”

According to the Washington Examiner, Cosko could face 50 years in federal prison.

Hypocrite Lady Gaga: Supporter of Bill and Hillary Clinton is upset by Kavanaugh hearings

Lady Gaga and her Clinton buddies: #BelieveWomen, but only of a certain political persuasion.

Lady Gaga says she was raped at 19 and as a result, suffers from PTSD. In the past, she teamed up with Joe Biden to help sexual assault survivors.

Wonder if this starlet has ever reached out to the sexual assault survivor Juanita Broaddrick? I’m going with NO. What a Hollyweird hypocrite.

From Hollywood Reporter: Lady Gaga stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night to discuss all things A Star Is Born, as well as share her thoughts on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

When asked if she was willing to talk politics, Gaga said “bring it on.” Of Kavanaugh, who has been accused of sexual assault and misconduct by multiple women including Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Gaga, who has been open in the past about her own sexual assault, said the ongoing “debate of Kavanaugh versus Dr. Ford is one of the most upsetting things I have ever witnessed.”

“But I will tell you something,” she continued. “Should we trust that [Dr. Ford] remembered the assault? Yes. And I’ll tell you exactly why. She’s a psychologist, she’s no dummy. And when someone experiences trauma, the brain changes. It takes the trauma and puts it in a box so that we can survive the pain.” A vote to confirm the highly controversial Trump pick to the Supreme Court is set to be held Saturday. Kavanaugh has denied all the claims against him.

Gaga added that she believes Ford was probably “triggered” when she realized Kavanaugh would be nominated and she decided to “protect this country.”

(At this point, the article doesn’t expand on any of her claims about Kavanaugh or Ford, it merely moves on to her latest movie. Because when you’ve got a movie to promote #believewomen can take a back seat.)

The pop star-turned-actress was also on hand to promote her new film A Star Is Born, which she stars in with director and writer Bradley Cooper. The film is the fourth iteration of the classic tale of a young up-and-coming star who falls in love with an older, established one whose career is fading as hers takes off. The project is Cooper’s directorial debut and Gaga’s big screen acting debut, although she previously won a Golden Globe for her role on American Horror Story: Hotel.

Of how she got the part, she said that she sang at a charity event the night before she met with Cooper. After he heard her sing “La Vie en Rose,” he wanted to meet with her, and they had an immediate connection. Of first meeting her future director and co-star, Gaga said, “There’s a lot of fake people in Hollywood but Bradley is not one of them.”

And although Gaga is a Grammy-winning artist, she’s not the only one who has a natural singing ability. She told Colbert that she was blown away by Cooper’s singing voice when she first heard it. “That man, he sings from his gut, from his soul and you can be technically perfect, but with no ability to tell a story, and he tells a story when he sings,” she said, adding, “I was drawn to his passion.”

Her character Ally may be a rising pop star, but Gaga said the similarities between her and her character end there. “My character Ally is very different than I was. I knew I had something to say and I wanted to say it… but she’s not that way,” she said, explaining that, “she’s in her 30s and she’s given up. She’s been told she’s not beautiful enough to make it and truthfully she’s insecure.”

Steven Crowder back on Texas Christian University campus, counseling now available for triggered snowflakes

On October 2 Steven Crowder posted the above video. Crowder went to Texas Christian University (TCU) and set up his “Change My Mind” table. The goal was to have students discuss the myth of rape culture with him and convince him that “rape culture” does exist in this country.

The video is long yet offers a glimpse into the mindset of college students today. Some of my favorite statements from these young skulls of mush:

  • “I’m honestly not talking about empirical data at all, and I don’t think we should look at it. Empirical data is bullsh*t.
  • “I usually believe the woman until proven otherwise.” (Said by a male student who doesn’t believe that’s how our laws should work but we should believe her for the “most part.”)
  • Crowder later accuses said male student of an act and the male student says, “Where’s your evidence? Crowder: “Why does that matter?” Male student: “You have to have evidence.”
  • Later in this exchange Crowder tells male student:“You did say believe the women until otherwise.” The male student says you need to “disprove” the accusation.
  • Crowder explains due process. The male student then says, “I think I might have misspoken.”
  • Crowder has another discussion with a different male student who really doesn’t want to discuss rape culture. He would rather discuss the method of dialogue that Crowder chose.
  • This male student has a hard time “articulating” rape culture because it’s very complicated.
  • Crowder tries to get him to explain the nuances of rape culture and this male student eventually says,“I’m not going to be able to articulate it, I don’t have any facts, I don’t have figures, I don’t have anything.”
  • The male student later says, “My point was, I really didn’t want to talk about rape culture, because I’m not prepared, I don’t know what to say about it. I don’t know how to articulate that I think it’s an issue. I don’t even know how to tell you I came to think it’s an issue. It’s just something I learned along the way.

Keep in mind that these students voluntarily sat down with Crowder for a conversation. They made that choice.

Yet because of Crowder’s mere presence, the kids now might require counseling. TCU tweeted the following:

  • “Today, Steven Crowder chose to challenge our students on a public sidewalk in front of the university. While the Constitution gives him the right to express his views, the sentiments he expressed do not align with TCU’s values.”
  • His views adversely affected many members of our campus community. The health and safety of the Horned Frog Family is of utmost importance and we encourage individuals to contact campus resources for support. https://counseling.tcu.edu  https://titleix.tcu.edu/  https://campuslife.tcu.edu

Oh you precious snowflakes. It’s pathetic that TCU thinks students need counseling services over someone setting up a table asking for a discussion.

Think about this: These kids now might need counseling because they heard an opinion that’s different from theirs.

After watching this video, I think many can agree that the government indoctrination system has been a success.

Trump supporter Tim Allen beats TDS-infected Candice Bergen in TV show ratings

Suck it, Murphy Brown.

From USA Today: After the first week of the television season, Tim Allen has bragging rights over Candice Bergen.

The return of Allen’s sitcom Last Man Standingreached 8.1 million viewers on Fox last Friday night. That was more than the 7.5 million people who tuned into the revival of Bergen’s “Murphy Brown on CBS the night before.

CBS heavily promoted the return of “Murphy Brown” after two decades, and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had a cameo in the first episode.

Last Man Standing” had been gone just a year, canceled by ABC in a decision that Allen said left him “stunned and blindsided.” But Fox brought it back, and on its first week it was the network’s most popular entertainment show, particularly impressive considering Friday is one of the least-watched nights on television.

ABC said its decision was strictly business after it decided against airing comedies on Friday, but there were political overtones. Allen supports President Donald Trump and his lead character, Mike Baxter, has been described as Archie Bunker with a college education. Some conservatives said the cancellation was proof that they weren’t valued as customers in liberal Hollywood.

The victory over “Murphy Brown” was “a very big upset,” said Marc Berman, a veteran television analyst who runs the Programming Insider.

Murphy Brown” had the misfortune of competing against real-life politics, since the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh aired the day of its premiere, giving big boosts that evening to Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who together reached nearly 10 million viewers, Nielsen said.

Makes sense: Hollyweird libtard Alyssa Milano wore cleavage-bearing blouse to Kavanaugh hearing

Actress Alyssa Milano (R) listens to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as he testifies before the US Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, September 27, 2018. – Kavanaugh was to testify in front of the panel next on Thursday afternoon, having stridently rejected the allegations of sexual abuse by Blasey Ford and two other women in prepared remarks. Look up boys…

Last Thursday actress attention whore Alyssa Milano attended the Kavanaugh hearing as a guest of Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

What do you think a grown woman would wear to such an event? Well if you are Alyssa, you’re going to wear a blouse that exposes your surgically-enhanced cleavage.

There are standards for dressing for events that are to be taken seriously (such as job interviews, court appearances and let’s say, oh, a senate judiciary committee hearing).

What you wear to a certain event creates an image or perception of the type of person you are and is critical to presenting yourself and your credibility. You want to dress for a positive impact, not the wrong kind of attention.

I’m guessing Alyssa wasn’t provided a script, stylist or costume designer for this event.

Maybe she’s “auditioning” for the possible Lifetime movie about the hearings? After all, she doesn’t have much else going on in her professional career.

Georgetown professor says white GOP senators “deserve miserable deaths” after Kavanaugh hearing

What a miserable creature.

From Fox News: An anti-Trump professor at Georgetown University is taking heat for a tweet saying white Republican senators who were at Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s hearing Friday should be castrated and endure a miserable death.

Dr. Carol Christine Fair, an associate professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown, said white Republican senators, specifically Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, who defended Kavanaugh in a fiery speech, deserve miserable deaths.” Fair went on to say in her Saturday message that the living should “castrate their corpses and feed them to swine.”

“Look at [this] chorus of entitled white men justifying a serial rapist’s arrogated entitlement,” she wrote. “All of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasps. Bonus: we castrate their corpses and feed them to swine? Yes.”

The week before, Fair went on a profanity-laced Twitter tirade against Kavanaugh, calling the embattled nominee a “rapist” and “perjurer.” She described the GOP as a “f—ing death cult” and “filthy swine.”

One Georgetown student pointed out the oldest Catholic university in America would not recruit students with this kind of behavior in their online portfolio, and it makes no sense coming from a distinguished professor, either.

“I don’t think people that Georgetown actually employs should be held to a significantly lower standard,” one student told Campus Reform, “And clearly, any of her students that see this rant are going to feel threatened if they have opinions that differ from hers.”

Fair told Fox News the tweets are part of her “private speech” and referred to a blog post she wrote on her personal site in which she wrote she chose her words specifically, and they were “intended to make you uncomfortable.”

A Georgetown University spokesperson told Fox News the views of faculty members expressed in their private capacities are their own and not the views of the university.

“Our policy does not prohibit speech based on the person presenting ideas or the content of those ideas, even when those ideas may be difficult, controversial or objectionable,” the statement said. “While faculty members may exercise freedom of speech, we expect that their classrooms and interaction with students be free of bias and geared toward thoughtful, respectful dialogue.”

Feel free to leave a message for Georgetown President John DeGioia here or here.

Q. Why do the Democrats call for an FBI investigation?

A. So they can stall Supreme Court candidate indefinitely.

Note: It is more than 1.5 years into the Trump presidency, and the Democrats continue to spend taxpayer money on an FBI witch hunt for “Russian Collusion” in the 2016 election where the only guilty parties are Democrats.

In the hearings it was clear that all the Democrats were reading off one script. That script was, “Look how serious these charges are! Don’t you think you should request an FBI investigation, Judge Kavanaugh?!!!”

(Implied: Only a guilty party would refuse an FBI investigation.)
